Part Three: The Pinnacle, Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Super "Slaughter"
Flames roared, the crowd screamed and gasped, the injured groaned in pain on the ground, and airport security personnel rushed out.
My mind went completely blank... completely blank...
Old Thorin is dead...
Old Thorin is dead?
He's dead?!
"Boss! Boss!"
I thought I heard a voice calling my name, but I didn't react. My eyes were fixed on the outside. On the roadside, three cars had been reduced to three large pieces of scrap metal by the flames! Without a doubt, with such a violent explosion, no one could have escaped from the cars! No one!!
Debris from the explosion was flying everywhere, and airport guards rushed over with fire extinguishers...
The surrounding crowd was in complete chaos.
"boss!"
Snap!
A sharp pain shot across my face; a slap jolted me awake. I looked up to see Tu staring at me with a grim expression. He then forcefully helped me sit up. My wheelchair had fallen to the ground beside me, and I saw bright red blood on Tu's shoulder… Was he injured?
I finally let out a breath, my voice a little hoarse: "I'm fine."
Tu finally breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at me quietly. My mind was in turmoil; old Thorin's death was so sudden, so sudden that I had no reaction whatsoever! Completely unprepared!!
I didn't even have time to think about the chain reaction that old Sorin's death would cause! What impact and consequences it would have! My cooperation with the Golden Triangle, my cooperation with old Sorin! The situation in Canada... everything would be drastically changed with this old man's death!
He stared at me blankly. Tu said in a deep voice, "Boss, we need to leave immediately!"
"Hmm! Leave!" I suddenly realized!
Clearly, this is a murder plot against Old Thorin! Looking across the world, who wants Old Thorin dead most right now? I can practically name him!
Allen! Allen, the godson of old Thorin! The former heir of the Hells Angels!
Tu picked me up horizontally and carried me on his shoulder. At this moment, the two men who had originally been with us at the airport to check in saw the boss's car explode and had already run away in a panic.
"Get out of here!" I ordered immediately!
Since they chose to kill Old Thorin at the airport, it's clear I can forget about leaving on his private jet! The airport has been ravaged by a huge explosion and is definitely temporarily closed! At a time like this, no plane should be allowed to take off from the airport! That's basic common sense!
Tu's back was still bleeding, a sharp shard of glass embedded in it. But Tu didn't seem to care; he simply pulled it out, glanced at it, and then put the sharp glass shard into his pocket.
People around were running around in panic, and airport staff were urgently evacuating the crowd. It must be admitted that Western countries have a very effective procedure for dealing with such emergencies.
Many uniformed men were already present, maintaining order, and the sirens of police cars and fire trucks could be heard in the distance.
Tu carried me a few steps. Just as we were about to exit through the side door, two men in black suits appeared beside us. Seeing Tu carrying me out, they hid behind the crowd and suddenly pulled out guns from their pockets!
Puff puff!
Two shots rang out from the silenced pistol, but to the two men's surprise, Tu disappeared after the two shots!
Just as they were surprised, Tu had already flashed behind them, and the two guys felt a chill on their necks!
Tu picked up the shard of glass, then calmly helped the two men to their feet. He laid them down quietly, picked up two guns, and gave one to me.
People were running around, no one noticed what was happening nearby. Everyone was terrified by the explosion and was desperately trying to get out.
"Boss, we're being watched." Tu said calmly, a hint of murderous intent flashing in his eyes! Then, Tu carried me on his back and plunged into the crowd.
“Two on the right… one in front.” Tu said coldly, carrying me on his back and striding forward. Then he suddenly lowered his body, hiding in the crowd, and started running quickly!
I also saw a guy standing outside the airport, dressed casually, but with one hand in his pocket—clearly holding a gun. Tu, carrying me, hid in the crowd and slowly approached. When we were less than three meters away, the guy finally noticed us! But it was too late!
flutter!
With the silencer, the sound of the bullet was minimized! In the noisy and shouting environment around them, no one noticed! The guy fell down with a gunshot to the chest, and no one noticed. Tu Fei quickly walked to his side, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a car key.
The crowd was still pushing outwards, but Tu put me down on the ground, then walked away a couple of steps. There was a suitcase on the ground next to me, which someone had lost in the chaotic crowd.
Tu went over without any politeness, twisted the zipper lightly, and then quickly pulled out two coats. He put one on himself and then put one on me. After that, Tu stopped carrying me on his back and instead supported me with one arm while I dragged my feet on the ground. He just dragged me forward like that.
In the crowd, no one cared about anyone else; everyone was running away in fright. Tu was dragging me along like this, which was less likely to be noticed than if he were carrying me on his back.
The police had already set up a cordon, and we took advantage of the chaos to rush out, running all the way to the parking lot outside the airport. Tu silently carried me; he was very strong, supporting me with one arm and seemingly dragging me forward effortlessly!
Chaos erupted in the parking lot as people fleeing the airport frantically searched for their cars. The explosion had been terrifying! Panic gripped everyone, with everyone wondering if it was some kind of terrorist attack. Tu calmly walked past the rows of cars, his hand constantly pressing the car keys he had taken from the gunman.
Finally, after we had walked past several rows of cars, a Buick sedan in the distance started to hum. Tu immediately led me over, shoved me into the passenger seat, and carefully fastened my seatbelt. Then he got into the driver's seat and started the car.
The parking lot was packed with people rushing to drive out, blocking the once spacious entrance and exit. Tu carefully drove while glancing left and right, then suddenly whispered, "Boss, you'd better keep your head down."
I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw several people rushing towards us from both directions! These people were all dressed in black, running towards us with their hands hidden inside their clothes as they ran!
Tu Wei frowned slightly. Then she abruptly shifted gears and slammed on the gas!
The car immediately lurched forward...
Bang! Bang! Someone fired from behind! Bullets struck the back of the car, making the rear window shatter. Then came a burst of gunfire, and the car rattled and clanged incessantly.
Tu drove calmly, completely ignoring the gunmen chasing them. He quietly observed his surroundings; the exit of the parking lot ahead was blocked. A dozen cars were jammed at the exit, struggling to get out, while others continued to start up on either side. Tu whispered, "Sit tight!"
He floored the accelerator! The car roared to life and shot forward!
Bang! We slammed into a car that had just pulled out on the left! Tu Ze quickly turned the steering wheel. The car skidded, then swerved sharply, veering into an empty lane on the left.
"Hold on tight!" Tu's shout made my heart skip a beat! There was no road in front of us!
This open-air parking lot outside the airport was surrounded by a safety island made of concrete platforms, with wooden fences on top. Now, it was a dead end! A concrete safety island, several tens of centimeters high, blocked their way. Tu shifted gears again and floored the accelerator…
boom!
The car shuddered violently, then lurched and jolted. We crashed onto the traffic island, smashing through the wooden fence, and then lurched again, veering off the parking lot and onto the road beside it! Tu calmly steered the car. After we burst out, our car slammed into the front of a speeding pickup truck. I even felt my body twist in the impact. The ear-piercing metallic scraping sound and the shattering glass filled the air, but Tu had already steered the car sharply, speeding off along the road!
I saw in the rearview mirror that right behind us, that unfortunate pickup truck had been hit by a car coming from behind and slid off course...
Tu Lian didn't even raise an eyebrow, his expression calm as he simply gripped the steering wheel. Recalling Tu's flying driving skills just now—"flying" over the safety island fence in the parking lot and leaving the vehicles on the road behind—Tu was driving a car with a deformed hood, the engine making a screeching noise, one side mirror long gone, both side windows shattered, and several large cracks in the windshield.
I couldn't help but look at this guy and exclaim, "My God, Tu, where did you learn such driving skills?!"
"The battlefield," Tu replied calmly.
He suddenly turned to look at me and said, "Boss, I need you to promise me something."
"What?"
“From now on, you have to listen to me! Until I get you back safely! But until then, from now on, you must listen to me.” With that, he gripped the steering wheel with one hand and frantically searched around with the other, finally pulling a map from under the seat. It was a Toronto traffic map, which he glanced at. To my surprise, even while looking at the map, he could still drive the car with remarkable composure, speeding along the highway! He could even dodge vehicles whizzing past on either side.
Less than half a minute later, Tu put down the map and looked up: "Look, boss, look behind you."
I looked back and saw two black minivans speeding up towards us in the distance!
Our car has just been hit several times and is badly damaged. The engine is clearly struggling to keep going, and it's starting to lose speed.
"Sit tight, it might be a bit bumpy," Tu suddenly said, then abruptly turned the steering wheel and slammed on the brakes!
The tires screeched sharply against the ground, and our car slid sideways! A car coming from the opposite direction couldn't avoid it and crashed heavily into the front of our car. Then our car lurched up, tilted in mid-air, and crashed sideways to the ground.
The car was still circling when Tu suddenly pulled out his gun and fired repeatedly at the lead of the several vans that were chasing after them...
Thud! Thud! Thud...
I clearly saw the bullets hit the other car and spark... Finally...
boom!
With a deafening roar, the van at the very front suddenly exploded! A burst of flame sent the entire vehicle flying high into the air before crashing down and smashing into the second vehicle behind it!
The massive explosion immediately caused all the cars on the road to swerve to avoid it. In an instant, the sounds of collisions and brakes from those unable to dodge were deafening, and the air was filled with the noise of banging and clanging!
Tu calmly put away his empty pistol and said indifferently, "This car is ruined. We need a new one."
Then he threw the gun away, kicked open the twisted and deformed car door, went around to the other side, and carried me out of the car.
At this moment, the pursuers behind us were blocked by the explosion, and Tu calmly carried me to the opposite lane.
Because of the traffic jam caused by the explosion behind us, many cars going in the opposite direction stopped. Tu walked over, randomly picked a white private car, and smashed the car window with a punch in the driver's terrified eyes, then a smile appeared on his lips.
The car owner was a young white man who appeared to be a middle-class white-collar worker. He looked at Tu, whose shoulder was covered with shards of glass and whose face was covered in blood, with horror, and said in a trembling voice, "You...you...what do you want to do?"
"Excuse me, sir, I need your car. Thank you for your cooperation."
Tu smiled, opened the car door, and then, ignoring the guy's shouts and struggles, easily pulled him out of the car. He put me in the car, and then climbed in himself.
Because of the car explosion behind us, the road was blocked in front and behind. Tu simply started the car and rammed it several times in a near-brutal manner to create enough space. Ignoring the shouts and curses of other drivers, we calmly turned around and sped away along the highway.
"Tu, you know what... the way you drive is really only suitable for the battlefield." I sighed.
"Boss, don't relax yet, we're not out of danger." Tu frowned. "We can't get out of the airport. Are we supposed to drive from Toronto to Vancouver?"
My face darkened, and after listening to Tu's words, I remained silent for a long time: "Do you have any suggestions?"
“It’s simple. Trains and planes are both unsafe,” Tu said slowly. “Boss, the other side chose to make their move at the airport, and it was obvious just now that someone was watching us there. Someone was chasing us. Clearly, they don’t just want to get rid of Thorin; you’re one of their targets too. This is someone else’s territory. If we take a plane or a train, we’ll easily be discovered. The best way is to get a car and drive back.”
“No, we’re not going back.” I interrupted Tu, then took a deep breath: “We’re going back to Toronto!”
Tu frowned: "To be honest, boss, I think this is a terrible idea, unless you're crazy."
“Tu, I promised old Thorin.” I shook my head. “If he dies, I will do my best to support his daughter to take over. But now, old Thorin has been murdered. Besides Allen, there is probably no one else who killed him. This is a coup, do you understand? With old Thorin dead, Allen will eliminate all threats! The princess is in great danger.”
Suddenly, I recalled the strange expression and solemn tone that old Thorin had given me when I said goodbye at the airport... This old guy actually apologized to me and so earnestly told me not to forget our promise...
Although he is now dead, I still feel a complicated feeling when I think of his words.
I'm not the kind of person who's stubborn... though I used to be, but I won't be that foolish anymore. I certainly won't blindly do anything just to keep a promise. Even though I had an agreement with Thorin, it was a partnership based on mutual benefit; I won't risk everything to fulfill a promise. But... today's events are too strange!
I had a vague feeling deep inside that I should keep that promise!
Even though now is not the time to stick to principles, there is a thought that tells me that if I really escape now, it will not be difficult, but I will definitely regret it in the future!
“Let’s go back,” I said slowly. “I made a promise to old Thorin. Now that he’s dead, it’s probably going to be difficult for the princess to inherit the throne. But at least I should rescue the princess, so that I won’t be breaking my promise.”
To my surprise, Tu, who was usually very obedient to me, went against my wishes this time: "No, boss, I'm sorry, but as I just said, the situation is different now. You must listen to me until I get you back safely! Your safety is my responsibility."
I froze, staring at Tu's cold expression. It suddenly dawned on me that Tu wasn't one of my brothers! He wouldn't be as obedient as my other subordinates, following my every command. Tu was a killing machine! A machine I'd brought under my wing by chance! There had never been any absolute obedience between us!
"Tu... I have to go back now." I gritted my teeth.
Tu glanced at me and said, "Boss, I'm sorry. If you insist, I'll knock you out and take you back."
Cars sped along the highway, and along the way, many police cars came towards us with sirens blaring, all heading towards the airport behind us.
