Yuepo turned around and smiled at her, saying, "Your betrothal gifts."

The matchmaker, beaming, handed her a gift list, densely packed with gifts on bright red paper sprinkled with gold. She slowly flipped through it; it was a full ninety-six pages. Yongye smiled, "You're really generous, twice as much as Murong Yan gave."

Are you satisfied?

Yongye nodded and said, "It's alright, but one thing is missing."

"What?"

"The wind blows."

Yuepo laughed and said, "You want Feng Yangxi as your betrothal gift? Do you want his sword-wielding hand, or his head?"

Yongye laughed, "Can't I have him be the witness at our wedding?"

"sure."

"Miss, the auspicious time is set for tomorrow night," a woman dressed as a matchmaker said with a fawning smile.

Where will the wedding banquet be held?

The restaurant owner stepped forward and said, "Don't worry, Miss. Our restaurant has specially invited Master Chen from the former Peony Garden in Kyoto. The banquet will be excellent."

Yongye returned the gift list to Yuepo and said earnestly, "My father must agree."

“Yongye, such a perfect match, how could I, your father, disagree?” Prince Duan replied with a beaming smile.

Yongye sneered, "Trying to act convincingly? Want to be my father? Let me tell you the truth, I'm a bastard!"

The imposter Prince Duan was stunned. There aren't many people in this world who would admit to being a bastard just to insult someone else.

Yuepo suppressed a laugh and coughed lightly, gesturing for the three to leave. He looked at Yongye, about to speak, when Yongye slammed the door shut. "I'm getting married tomorrow night. A bride can't meet her groom before the wedding. So, I'll borrow this place for one day as my family home."

A shadow of sadness crossed Yuepo's face; a door separated Yongye from his heart. Whom should he blame? He pursed his lips, a piercing light flashing in his eyes beneath his sword-like brows. After standing there for a long time, he turned and left.

At the edge of the flower field, a grasshopper that had wandered in idly flicked its leg. Yuepo gently lifted its antennae and shook it off, murmuring, "This place should be safe."

After a while, the door quietly opened, and Yongye peeked out before slowly walking out.

Butcher Zhang was still selling pork on the street, smiling as he greeted her, "Miss, what kind of meat would you like to buy today?"

Yongye sighed and said, "I'm sorry, Uncle Zhang, I can't patronize your business today."

"It's alright. Miss is getting married tomorrow, and Young Master Yue has already bought two pigs for the wedding feast."

Yongye recalled the days when the two of them counted copper coins and drank thin porridge at Ping'an Medical Clinic, and murmured, "So he was that rich."

Further on, the plump shopkeeper leaned on the counter and greeted her with a smile: "Xinghun, you're getting married tomorrow. Come to the shop and choose a gift as my wedding present. I won't charge you."

Yongye shook his head, "My betrothal gifts even include a toilet, there's nowhere to put your odds and ends."

"Yes, I only have some odds and ends left. Young Master Yue bought all the jewelry and ornaments I have."

Yongye smiled and said, "It's like we're going to eat our fill after just one year of business. Looks like the fat shopkeeper is going to get even fatter. Everyone dies eventually. Dying fat is a happy thing too."

Passing by the pharmacy of Huihun, Yongye quietly exchanged a glance with him and smiled, "Master Huihun, please remember to change into a festive outfit tomorrow night."

"good."

She entered the hotel, and the innkeeper greeted her, asking, "What would you like to order, Miss?"

Yongye looked at Hongyi in the corner and said, "Bring me the same dish as him." She walked over to Hongyi, sat down, poured herself a glass of wine, and drank it without saying a word.

Hongyi looked up at her. "When did you find out?"

“Xibo,” Yongye replied simply.

"Do I have that many weaknesses?"

"No, it's just a feeling. I just felt that someone who was there to cause trouble shouldn't have revealed his plans to a stranger like me. This is something that should have been done secretly, and you don't seem like a flamboyant person. And when we got to Anjia Buddhist Temple, you shouldn't have asked me what I was looking for."

Hongyi looked at her strangely and slowly asked, "Why did you pretend not to know yesterday?"

"I can't appear too smart. If I do, someone will be in trouble."

Hongyi finished her drink and looked at Yongye sadly. "You're wrong. When you opened your eyes, everyone knew you came on purpose. I didn't need to scheme anything. Even if I hadn't drugged that drink, you would have come."

Yongye chuckled, swirling the wine glass in his hand, his eyes filled with even deeper sorrow. "How could I not come? There are so many familiar faces here."

Hongyi stood up and said slowly, "Yes, it's a good thing to have many acquaintances. I heard that Hero Feng will also be coming down the mountain tomorrow night to attend your wedding. The wedding is sure to be very lively."

Thank you.

Is he on the mountain? Yongye walked up the mountain without hesitation.

The wind blows, and autumn leaves fall, like heartbroken butterflies landing on the mountain path.

The valley was deep and secluded, and the mountain spring seemed to hold its breath. Yongye walked up step by step, the fallen leaves making a crisp sound under her feet, and the silence was so profound that she could hear her own heartbeat.

After rounding the bend, there was a wooden bridge ahead. It was really just a few logs laid across the mountain stream. It was clearly old, with lush green moss covering the logs.

A hexagonal pavilion was built on the protruding rock at the bridgehead, where Yuepo sat drinking tea.

Yongye pretended not to see and lifted his leg to step onto the bridge.

Moon Soul strode over and blocked her path.

Yongye smiled. "Move aside."
