Kapitel 21

"Do you think I'm blind?!" Officer Fu pushed the two aside and picked up Aheng like a chick.

"You just said you didn't know them? Tell me, what's your relationship with them?!" Officer Fu glared at Aheng, threatening her, "I'll report you! If you don't tell the truth, I'll put you in a dark room!"

He didn't actually have any bad intentions; he just noticed that the little girl was moving slowly like a little turtle and found it amusing, so he teased her.

He could probably guess about eight or nine parts of what happened today. It was just a routine matter; he would teach these spoiled brats a lesson and be done with it.

"You're bad, how could you be so bad!" Ah Heng sniffed, displeased. "You're blind, you're blind! Yan hope is injured, he can't see!"

Officer Fu was stunned for a long time before awkwardly saying, "This girl has quite a temper."

Yan hope blinked her big eyes, then obediently blinked them again—"The little sister in the family is spoiled and doesn't know any better."

She speaks as if it were the truth. I wonder whose little sister she is, and who is spoiled.

Siwan chuckled to herself, finding it truly laughable that Yanxi was acting like an adult.

"Uncle, make way..." Ah Heng squeezed and squeezed, managing to make a narrow passage between the burly Officer Fu and Yan hope.

Officer Fu was stunned, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

What a bunch of weird kids he's encountered! Not a single one of them is normal!

Ah Heng took out iodine gauze and gently rolled up Yan Xi's sleeve. Yan hope, like a cat with its fur standing on end, started to gasp for breath, his eyebrows and eyes furrowed into a deep frown—"It hurts, be gentle!"

Siwan was sweating profusely—"Aheng hasn't even started wiping it on yet!"

Xin Dayi curled her lip—"A grown man so afraid of pain, and you're so good-looking!"

The preceding sentence is blatant contempt.

The next sentence is blatant jealousy.

Siwan broke out in a cold sweat.

Ah Heng chuckled—"Close your eyes, close your eyes, don't look, and it won't hurt."

Yan hope stopped howling, glanced at Aheng, and then looked up at the ceiling in despair.

Siwan Waterfall Sweat.

So, while the medicine was being applied, the boy kept howling, his voice rising sixteen octaves, shaking the police station. From then on, it became widely known that the station abused its power and had once beaten someone to death. The story was vividly described, and the public security situation was excellent. People didn't pick up lost items on the road, and thieves and robbers avoided them like the plague. Officer Fu was named a "model public servant" at the end of the year, and his name will be remembered for eternity. But that's another story.

Everyone covered their ears, but Ah Heng seemed not to hear, carefully bandaging the wound before letting go.

"Brother, not to be mean, but you already have such a beautiful girl, why are you still trying to steal my girl?" Hu Ba was so focused on Mei Mei that he misheard Yan Xi's "sister" as "Meimei." He was in a daze, feeling miserable and tearful as he spoke to Yan hope.

Holy crap!

Yan hope cursed under his breath.

I must be out of my mind to steal your fucking beauty!

Chapter 18

Officer Fu gave them a scolding, made a record as usual, asked for the children's home addresses, phone numbers and names, and then let them go home.

"Axi, how are you going to explain this when you get back?" Siwan frowned as she looked at Yanxi's arm.

"I bumped into a bear!" Yan hope was afraid of pain, and her mood became even more depressed after the medicine was applied.

"Brother, I'm sorry about today!" Hu Ba shrank his neck, feeling somewhat guilty.

He wasn't a bad person by nature. He was initially angry with "Meimei," but seeing that Yan hope had no interest in Meimei, and having gone through hardships together at the police station, he felt a growing sense of kinship with these boys who shared his temperament.

"Forget it, forget it. Just don't let the young master see you again..." Yan hope waved his hand weakly, accepting his bad luck.

"Brother, what are you saying? As long as you don't steal Meimei, I'll protect you from now on. Our brotherhood will last forever!" Hu Ba patted the boy's shoulder, full of heroic spirit.

The camera happened to capture the wound, and Yan hope immediately started howling.

Siwan was a little displeased. She gently put her arm around Yanxi's shoulder and led him to her side.

"Look at my memory!" Tiger Tyrant smiled sheepishly, looking rather simple-minded.

Xin Dayi looked up at the sky and whistled, looking disdainful.

Ah Heng thought Hu Ba was a good person, so she smiled at him with a gentle and understanding expression.

Tiger King laughed, and his face, which was full of fat, suddenly became somewhat cute and naive.

Ah Heng kept laughing, chuckling, laughing and laughing.

"Does your cheek hurt?" Yan hope glanced at Aheng.

"A little." Ah Heng poked her cheek, laughing until it hurt a little.

"Hey, you want to be my brother? Fine, but you'll have to join my Rib Cult." Yan hope leaned against Si Wan, his eyes sparkling, looking languid.

"The Rib Cult?" Tiger stammered, "What...what is that? A cult?"

Siwan chuckled to herself.

"What are you laughing at, Right Protector?" Yan hope feigned innocence.

Right Protector, is it Siwan?

Ah Heng shuddered as she recalled Si Wan standing in the wind, raising her arms and shouting, "Master Yan hope will unify the martial world for eternity, and Dongfang Bubai will reign supreme for thousands of years."

"Yan hope, if you want to start a cult, Si Wan and I can do whatever we want, but can you come up with a better name? Rib Cult, oh my god, can anyone believe it? If people call it that, I, Xin Dayi, will lose all face!" The disheveled boy looked at Yan hope with a mournful expression.

"Left Protector, do you want to betray the sect?" Yan hope asked softly, her sorrowful eyes fixed on Xin Dayi.

"Oh, Brother Dayi, you should betray the religion! If you betray the religion, I'll get a promotion!" Little Shrimp's eyes lit up.

"What are you...?" Tiger Tyrant looked at Little Shrimp, trembling.

The child laughed and pointed to himself—"You're asking me? I'm one of the Four Great Dharma Kings."

"You alone, against the Four Dharma Kings?"

"Yes, yes."

"So, how about joining?" Yan hope rubbed Xiao Xia's hat, her big eyes looking at Hu Ba with a bright smile.

Hu Ba stared at Yan hope's face, dumbfounded, and nodded unconsciously.

"Good, from now on you'll be one of the Eight Great Warriors!" Yan hope nodded with satisfaction, like a leader.

Siwan and Xindayi looked at Yan hope with great helplessness, letting him go on his erratic behavior.

"Why, is it the Ribs Cult?" Ah Heng asked.

"What else could it be? Isn't it just that he likes to eat ribs?" Siwan squinted at Yan hope's slender back and spoke softly.

Oh, I see.

Ah Heng wanted to laugh, but a faint, elusive feeling welled up inside her.

She had played with this when she was a child, but that was a long time ago. Yan hope magnified such a childish thing, and his serious and earnest attitude was quite shocking.

Ah Heng always thought of herself as the most rational person, but ever since she got closer to Yan Xi's world, she felt that the most obvious things in this world would be distorted and broken in front of him. Then, like building blocks, he would rebuild them all according to his own nature and make up his own logic.

Such a person, though charming, is dangerous beyond measure.

***********************************************Divider*****************

School has started.

According to Xilin's usual practice, seating arrangements at the beginning of the new semester are generally based on academic performance.

Ah Heng's class is the best-performing class in the grade, so naturally they want to uphold the principle of "number one in grades." Their homeroom teacher, Ms. Lin, said, "Everyone, grab your bags and go outside. I'll call out your names one by one, and you can choose your own seats according to your report cards."

In other words, as long as your grades are good enough, you can go wherever you want; if your grades are bad, you're lucky if you even get a seat.

“Discrimination, absolute personal discrimination!” Xin Dayi muttered to everyone outside the classroom.

His grades had always been good, but unfortunately, he became addicted to playing games before the final exams last year. He was usually at the bottom of his class in science subjects, but unfortunately, he failed all his humanities subjects, and his overall score was in the twenties of his class.

When Xin Dayi was admitted to Xilin School, he entered with the prestigious title of first place in the Mathematical Olympiad. Now, he's nowhere to be found on the grade list. He's usually easygoing and doesn't mind, but his class teacher, Mr. Lin, calls him in for tea and heart-to-heart talks every few days. Who can stand that? So, his rare sense of self-esteem has surfaced, and the current policy of arranging seats according to grades has severely hurt his tender heart.

"Wen Heng." Ms. Lin held the roster and slowly called out names, the second one being the dark horse of his age.

A chorus of boos erupted from the crowd.

"Yes." Ah Heng went inside.

She sat in her usual spot, the second to last row, by the window.

They called out names one by one, and everyone pretended not to see Aheng, keeping a great distance from her.

This behavior is as if they're dealing with some kind of infectious virus.

From beginning to end, no one sat next to her. Her deskmate, the person in front of her, the person behind her—all the seats were empty.

He's so annoying...

Ah Heng was depressed.

She's not a plague...

When SARS struck in 2003, their entire dormitory building was quarantined. When they were released, it was the same situation. Whenever people in the school saw their dormitory members out strolling around, dating, stargazing, holding hands, or feeding mosquitoes, they would immediately shut them down. The place they went was spotless. That kind of situation was much more damaging than a small-scale quarantine of a class.

Unfortunately, back then, I was young and foolish, unable to see things clearly, hiding in my shell and licking my wounds, which only made them hurt more.

She remembered that she was looking at Xin Dayi at the time, but that guy, being rather unkind, turned his head away and pretended not to see her.

Compared to other strangers, although she didn't say it aloud, she shamelessly thought in her heart that they were neither friends nor acquaintances.

However, it turned out that she was overthinking it.

Actually, I wasn't sure if that glance I gave represented helplessness, since it's much easier than admitting rejection.

Years later, Xin Dayi jokingly said to Aheng, "Aheng, how could you possibly like Yan Xi? I knew you before he did."

Ah Heng wanted to jokingly say that Yan hope was somewhat handsome, but in that instant, what suddenly came to mind was not Yan Xi's face. His youthful appearance had faded with time. The only thing she could still remember was the vivid and beautiful posture of the boy when he was angry, like a flame. In the light and shadow, it was eternal. No matter what tune he hummed or how dashing he was, she would never forget it in this lifetime.

She said, "EVE, do you still remember how angry Yan hope looked?"

How come I don't remember?

Xin Dayi shrank his neck.
