"Ye... Ye Zi".

When he couldn't help but call out to her, preparing to acknowledge her, Ye Zi turned around in response, her long hair drawing a silky waterfall in the air.

"Is there anything I can do for you, General Manager?" she asked respectfully and cautiously, her face as calm as ever.

“You…” He was speechless, wondering if she had forgotten him, forgotten that night.

He stared at him for a long time, his noble face remaining somber, before finally speaking: "It's nothing."

"Oh." Ye Zi responded, puzzled, not understanding what he was disappointed or displeased about. This side of him made her feel a little...uncomfortable.

On weekdays, he was meticulous and diligent at work, but in private, he was taciturn and rarely showed his emotions, except when Vice President Fang came to stroll around. At those times, he would laugh and get angry, showing more humanity, but that was natural—they were lovers, after all. Although she had shielded him from many harassing phone calls from women since she took office, he always remained indifferent, except towards the Vice President… Sigh, perhaps those women were just a smokescreen for him, and the Vice President was his true love. This devotion… it's not just ordinary touching, is it?

Lost in her own thoughts, Ye Zi was dragged by Pei Zaiyu to the other half of the office building, a space she had never entered, when she finally came to her senses.

"General Manager...?"

She was not surprised by his actions, but by the comforting warmth that touched her wrist when he held it, a warmth she had felt long ago.

She was confused...

He pulled her into his private lounge, supporting her petite and slender shoulders. He looked down with an unstoppable sharp gaze into the depths of his soul, seeing her confusion, bewilderment, and even a hint of obsession... until all of this turned into unease and resistance, he finally released her.

"The dryer and bathroom facilities are all available here." After giving these brief instructions, he turned to leave.

"Where is this?" She was clearly dragged here, so why did she feel so cared for?!

“My private lounge.” He continued walking forward, adding hastily without turning his head, “Don’t worry, no one will come in.”

Did he think she was worried about her safety? No, that's not it. She might have been wary of many people in her life, but for some reason, she never showed it to him... Perhaps, perhaps it's because he and that person have a striking resemblance?

"Why?" Biting her lower lip, she finally couldn't suppress her curiosity and asked.

"Don't you know?"

Pei Zaiyu, who was already standing at the door, stopped and looked back. His enigmatic answer left the room in deep thought, not to mention his alluring and burning gaze...

Chapter Two: "A Night's Deepest Affection" by Mo Xian

"Hello, this is the general manager's office."

Ye Zi lazily picked up the receiver and asked lazily. It wasn't that she was careless during work hours; it was just that… what happened at noon was so perplexing that it nearly drove her crazy. It wasn't fun, not fun at all.

"Ye Zi, it's me," came the weak reply from the other end.

"Oh, is there something you need?" she asked, uninterested.

"Yezi, it's all that sissy's fault. He dragged me to entertain clients at noon, and we ate Japanese food. Not only did I have to kneel so hard my back ached, but I didn't even get to eat my fill... Yezi, I'm so..." Fengzi complained pitifully.

"Are you hungry?" As expected of a longtime friend, he immediately revealed her tragic fate.

"Come on up, Lucky's fried rice is still..." Before the word "still" could be uttered, the person on the other end had already vanished without a trace.

With a sigh, Ye Zi resignedly walked into the tea room, put the lunchbox she had brought that morning into the microwave to heat it up, and silently counted in her mind: one, two, three...

By the time she counted to eight, Fengzi had already rushed into the tea room like lightning, staring longingly at the microwave oven behind her.

"How come it's so fast?" Ye Zi asked her deliberately.

"I climbed the stairs, the elevator is too slow." Anyway, it's only one floor, Fengzi waved her hand childishly.

As expected, Ye Zi groaned and rubbed her forehead: "Miss, please pay attention! You are a well-educated, high-level white-collar worker wearing a designer suit. Can't you pay more attention to your image? Lucky and I went to so much trouble to pick out clothes and shoes for you."

I glanced worriedly at the pair of white stiletto heels on her feet, two and a half inches high (Lucky originally said she wanted to buy three-inch heels, but she begged me to give up), and she actually dared to do it!

Sitting there happily devouring his food, his mouth full of it, he waved his hand dismissively and mumbled indistinctly, "It's nothing, it's just a sissy."

Shaking her head and sighing, Ye Zi had to admit that her attempt to transform Feng Zi had ended in failure. Seeing Feng Zi's disheveled and ravenous eating, she was certain she hadn't eaten properly for lunch. With another sigh, Ye Zi resignedly turned and got her some juice from the refrigerator.

"Judging from your expression, it seems like you haven't eaten anything." She placed the juice next to her.

"Not only did I not eat it, it was absolutely disgusting!" Her pretty face, finally able to leave the bento box, flushed with indignation. "That old bastard from Fuji Company actually groped my butt when I wasn't looking, and then leered at me asking if I wanted to work for him. Bastard, Japanese devil, old pervert..." A torrent of profanities followed.

Ye Zi rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. She thought to herself, "Lucky is so lucky. Otherwise, I'm afraid I would be the one yelling Feng Zi's catchphrase, 'I'm going to kill you.'"

However, when Feng Zi was taken advantage of, a cold glint flashed in her eyes, but instead of cursing like Feng Zi, she pointed sharply at the man who had been listening outside the door for a long time, whose face had turned sinister.

"Knowing the client was this kind of person, why did the vice president still take you there?"

"That sissy doesn't care if I live or die! If he hadn't left the table for a while, I wouldn't have been taken advantage of!" If that old lecher wasn't a future major client of the company, someone she couldn't afford to offend, she would have beaten him up long ago. How despicable! Feng Zi pouted, and thinking about what happened later, her mood improved considerably. "But when he came back, he was sexually harassed by two other Japanese devils, and he was so angry he was practically dying, his face turning pale and then red." Feng Zi almost burst out laughing as she said this.

"Sexually harassed by a man?" Ye Zi raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. She sneered in a sarcastic tone, "You know the vice president's sexual orientation. Maybe he enjoys it."

"That's true." After a moment's thought, Feng Zi nodded in agreement, "But he doesn't have a relationship with the general manager..."

"Go away! There are playboys among heterosexuals, so why aren't there any among homosexuals?" After a pause, Ye Zi was even more certain that she heard teeth grinding. She continued, "Maybe he doesn't dare to act recklessly usually because President Pei is his boss. Today, he finally got the chance, so isn't this exactly what he wanted?"

"But... he doesn't seem very happy." Fengzi asked while picking her ear. Strangely, she seemed to hear some strange noise.
