Kapitel 23

"Everything about the Takahashi family has nothing to do with me; as long as you're there, that's enough."

"What do you mean 'it's none of your business'? When are you going to stop this nonsense, brother?!"

“Brother…yes, just because you call me brother, how could I be unrelated to the Takahashi family? But Jiro, why do you never ask me what I want?”

"What do you want?! Do you think that changing your surname to Fang and your name will erase the fact that you were once Hideki Takahashi? No, impossible!"

"It's impossible, but am I not even allowed to forget the past? Just because my surname used to be Takahashi?"

"Jiro, everything in the Takahashi family originally belonged to you, and it's what you wanted. You've worked so hard for so long just to have it, so why force me to accept it?"

What started as a heated argument eventually subsided as one side adopted a more relaxed attitude, leading the other to compromise.

"You really don't want the Takahashi family?"

"No!" Fang Weiyang said resolutely.

"What about Minako and Ruri?" A hint of grief and indignation surfaced on Takahashi Jiro's cold and hard face. He growled, "Don't you want them either?"

“Jiro…” Looking at his half-brother, Fang Weiyang hesitated for a moment before saying, “Everyone has their own life to live. I can’t bear the burden of anyone’s entire life. I’m sorry.”

"You bastard! How could you say such a thing? Minako loves you so much, and you actually..." In a fit of rage, he threw a vicious punch at his brother.

"No...!"

With a gasp, a slender and delicate figure suddenly rushed in from outside the terrace, stumbling and blocking Fang Weiyang's path as he tried to dodge.

Just as the iron fist was about to strike her beautiful face, Takahashi Jiro, in a moment of crisis, used all his strength to swerve the fist, and with a "bang," a potted spider plant that its owner had placed on the balcony shattered.

"Minako, you!" Takahashi Jiro was too grief-stricken to speak, his already bloodstained fists still clenched tightly.

"sorry!"

She bowed respectfully to him in apology. Minako, dressed in flowing white, her ethereal face softened with a touch of melancholy as she turned to the silent Fang Weiyang. She bowed again, her gentle and delicate demeanor befitting a virtuous and docile young wife.

"Brother Hideki, it's been a long time."

"Minako..."

Frowning as he looked at her, Fang Weiyang didn't know what to say. He pursed his lips, walked past her to his younger brother, took a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to him. "Wrap it up first, and remember to go to the hospital for disinfection later." After saying that, he turned and left without looking back.

"No, Hideki-nii-san, don't go!"

Minako, who had been calm and composed just moments before, was now in tears. She rushed over and hugged his waist, refusing to let him go.

Taking a deep breath, Fang Weiyang smiled bitterly. It seemed that "he" really didn't intend to let him go, and had actually played Minako as his trump card so early on.

He gently pulled her hand away, and when he turned his head, his face was expressionless. He comforted her in a forgiving tone, saying, "It's more important to accompany Jiro to see the doctor. We can talk about everything else later."

He patted her delicate shoulder, then turned and walked away again, but stopped at the doorway near the terrace's French windows, adding in a very casual tone, "You must have memorized my contact information when you came from Kyoto, right?"

After saying that, he left without waiting for a reply from the person behind him.

“Brother Xiushu…” she choked, gazing wistfully in the direction Fang Weiyang had left.

“Minako,” Takahashi Jiro, who was standing to the side looking heartbroken, sighed softly. He gently pulled her into his arms with his uninjured left hand and said tenderly, “Shh, don’t cry.”

Nestled in his arms, she, who had been sobbing softly, immediately burst into tears like a child, without any restraint.

"Why? Jiro, why doesn't he want me? Why did he leave me for ten years, and then not even bother to ask about me when we met again?... How could he... How could he? Jiro... Is it... that I'm not good enough... Hideki-nii... Nii-nii... He doesn't want me and Ruri... How could he... How could he... Do this to me... How could he not want... Ruri, he is her... Waaah... How could he..."

"I know, sweetie, don't cry, don't cry anymore. I will help you. I won't let Ruri be without a father. Believe me, Minako, believe me!" On Minako's handsome face, which she couldn't see, there was also a look of heartache and helplessness.

"Um."

Gradually, her tears subsided, and she looked up in his arms, a poignant smile blooming on her face—a smile of complete trust…

Chapter Six: A Night of Deep Affection Author: Mo Xian

"What are you doing?!"

Having just experienced a past he didn't want to recall, he was exhausted and only wanted to quickly return to Fengzi's side, to hug her or see her radiant smile, to draw some warmth from her. Unexpectedly, as soon as he returned to the hall, he saw her in the distance, coquettishly reclining on the sofa, while Zhuo Hua reached out his hand to grab her small hand.

"Damn it, what are you doing?!"

With another furious shout, he disregarded the commotion he caused in the hall. He rushed forward, shoved away the hairy hand, and roughly pulled her into his arms, glaring angrily at Zhuo Hua.

"Ahem..." Zhuo Hua coughed twice, forcibly suppressing his laughter. He looked innocently at his friend who was still glaring at him, touched his nose and explained, "I was just taking good care of her because I was afraid that someone would take advantage of her while you were away."

Taking advantage? I'm afraid the first person to make a move will be this lecherous bastard!

"Where did you touch just now?" he sneered, a calculating glint in his eyes. "Anyway, we haven't gotten together in ages, so how about we set a time tomorrow..."

"No need!" Zhuo Hua hurriedly declined, explaining a second time as if he valued his life highly: "I'm innocent, Master Fang! I was just trying to take the wine cup from her hand, how could I dare to touch her?" Besides, he had to go after his wife, how could he have the guts to do anything romantic?

"A wine glass?"

Startled for a moment, Fang Weiyang belatedly realized that the beauty in his arms not only had flushed cheeks and was delirious, but also exuded a faint fragrance of wine.

"Which bastard forced her to drink?" he roared in fury.
