Unterwelt - Kapitel 17

Kapitel 17

From the very beginning, they knew Zhao Zhuo was no longer a normal person; there was no doubt about that. No normal person would be like Zhao Zhuo, filthy, disheveled, and dressed in tattered clothes, reduced to a beggar. He didn't have to be in this state. If Qin Fangcheng had encountered such a situation, it might be somewhat understandable, given the harassment of that trashy woman, Fu Xiuying. But even in such dire straits, Qin Fangcheng maintained his dignity and composure. Zhao Zhuo, however, inexplicably fell to such a state, which could only be explained by one thing:

Zhao Zhuo has gone mad!!!

Zhao Zhuo's story was filled with the bizarre and evil, and the sense of illusion was so intense that Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng involuntarily felt a chilling coldness. That coldness seemed to emanate from another, utterly frigid world, devoid of any sunlight or warmth; it evoked a feeling of desolation, as if one were standing in ice and snow, causing an involuntary tremor. This feeling was absolutely extraordinary; only a mentally unstable person could so clearly depict such an unreal quality.

Zhao Zhuo ate and spoke rapidly, his speech as fast as a machine gun, incredibly quick yet clear and coherent. The gurgling sounds that slid down his throat didn't hinder his narration. Suddenly, his voice stopped. Slowly, he placed his hands on the low table, leaned back slightly, and abruptly turned to look at Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng:

"You don't believe what I'm saying at all, do you?"

“Yes,” Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng nodded together, but then realized they couldn’t admit it to each other’s faces, so they hurriedly shook their heads vigorously: “No, no, no, we believe you, we believe you.”

Zhao Zhuo suddenly shoved the table hard, stood up, and glared angrily at Qin Fangcheng and Lin Hong with a look full of grief and indignation: "I thought you were my friends!"

“We’re friends,” Lin Hong blinked and answered mechanically. Qin Fangcheng kicked her from below, meaning she should ignore Zhao Zhuo. Clearly, he thought Zhao Zhuo was mentally unstable and incapable of normal logical thinking or analysis. He now deeply regretted accepting Zhao Zhuo’s invitation to come here, and if he lingered any longer, he might cause some unpleasant trouble.

Sure enough, Zhao Zhuo roared, "Nonsense! You don't believe me at all!"

“No, no, no,” Lin Hong hurriedly said before Qin Fangcheng, “We believe you, Zhao Zhuo, we believe whatever you say.”

"No matter what I say?" Zhao Zhuo looked at Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng with a mocking gaze: "No matter what I say? Then what did I just say?"

As Zhao Zhuo spoke, his eyes were bloodshot, fixed intently on Lin Hong. Terrified, Lin Hong involuntarily took a step back, hiding behind Qin Fangcheng. She dared not speak further, fearing Zhao Zhuo might suddenly become violent and harm her. Seeing her retreat, Zhao Zhuo seemed to grow even more ferocious, taking a step forward and glaring menacingly at her: "Tell me, what did I just say?"

Qin Fangcheng began, "Zhao Zhuo, listen to me..." He had barely started when Qin Fangcheng abruptly interrupted him, "Shut up! I'm not asking you, I'm asking her." Then he continued his aggressive questioning of Lin Hong, "Tell me, what exactly did I just say?"

"You just said..." Lin Hong was terrified, gripping Qin Fangcheng's arm tightly, and blurted out, "You just said that your company's boss is a tube-shaped worm with many fleshy legs." Hearing these words, she felt an indescribable discomfort, as if that imagined tube-shaped worm with many fleshy legs was crawling in front of her, and that eerie feeling made her want to vomit.

Zhao Zhuo suddenly burst into a sharp, eerie laugh, a sound like a wolf's howl or an owl's hoot, which suddenly rang out in the night sky, indescribably chilling. The laughter lasted for quite a while before Zhao Zhuo abruptly stopped laughing without a trace. The change in his tone when he stopped laughing was so rapid, as if a high-speed train had suddenly come to a stop. The stagnation in his tone made Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng feel intensely dizzy.

“Lin Hong, listen to me,” Zhao Zhuo’s face peered out from the darkness, revealing an endless sense of gloom and eeriness: “I know you won’t believe me. You’d rather take my words as the ravings of a madman. If you really think that way, then you’re wrong. Perhaps you will soon pay a heavy price for this mistaken idea.”

Lin Hong's lips twitched, as if she wanted to explain something, but Qin Fangcheng stood up, shielding her with his body, and faced Zhao Zhuo directly: "Zhao Zhuo, no matter what you said, what you did, or what you encountered, it doesn't matter. It doesn't change the fact that we are friends. Now come with us, we'll take you to the hospital."

Qin Fangcheng's words were just casual remarks; he didn't believe Zhao Zhuo would go with them at all. Sure enough, upon hearing this, Zhao Zhuo suddenly took a few steps back: "No, no, I..." He seemed to want to say something, but changed his mind at the last moment and turned to flee into the distance.

Lin Hong was startled and hurriedly chased after him, calling out, "Zhao Zhuo, Zhao Zhuo, wait a minute..." Suddenly, a hand grabbed her from behind. It was Qin Fangcheng. Lin Hong, filled with displeasure, tried to shake him off, saying, "Let go of me! Let go now! Can't you see how Zhao Zhuo has become?"

Qin Fangcheng held onto Lin Hong tightly, not daring to let go: "It's precisely because Zhao Zhuo has become like this that I'm not letting you chase after him."

"Why?" Lin Hong demanded angrily.

Qin Fangcheng gave a bitter smile: "His illness is a classic case of paranoia and delusional disorder. Having just one of these two illnesses is enough to cause suffering, and Zhao Zhuo has both. No wonder..." He suddenly remembered something, frowned, and turned to ask Lin Hong: "Do you remember the screams we heard outside Zhao Zhuo's house when we called out to his wife? Could it be that his illness is really... What's going on? Why is he back?"

Qin Fangcheng jumped up, making Lin Hong hide behind him, and stared intently at Zhao Zhuo, who was retreating step by step. The three of them were in a slightly deeper part of an alley. Zhao Zhuo had stormed off and walked out of the alley, but in the blink of an eye, he returned, his back to Qin Fangcheng and Lin Hong, as he retreated step by step. Qin Fangcheng stared wide-eyed, trying desperately to see what was forcing Zhao Zhuo to retreat with such a tense, wary expression. But after staring for a long time, Qin Fangcheng saw nothing but Zhao Zhuo.

Unexpectedly, Zhao Zhuo's condition had become so serious. Qin Fangcheng was shaking his head and sighing when suddenly the ground beneath his feet began to shake violently. A powerful force surged forth, and the two of them cried out in surprise as they were thrown sideways, like leaves in a gale, rolling a long distance on the ground until they crashed into a wall and came to a stop.

7)

When that force surged forth, Lin Hong was completely unprepared. She cried out in alarm and futilely tried to grab Qin Fangcheng, who was trying to protect her, but her hand missed its mark. The two of them were thrown apart by the sudden force, like two lifeless rag dolls. The excruciating pain of the fall and the tremors from the impact with the wall seemed to shatter every joint in her body.

As she fell, a torrent of dirt rained down on her, mixed with stones of all sizes, striking her body and head, causing her to scream in pain. The dirt, churned up from the ground, continued to fall, instantly burying Lin Hong's body. Just as she was about to cry out in alarm, a stone fell from the sky, striking her head squarely. Her head lolled to the side, and she lost consciousness. In an instant, a cloud of dust filled the air, burying her completely.

Qin Fangcheng was also buried by the dust that was billowing up, but he was already aware of what was happening. Instinctively, he raised his arms to cover his face. After the dust settled, he spread his arms to the left and right and poked his head out of the soil. In the darkness, he could not see anything clearly, but he could feel a huge thing wriggling and crawling out of the ground. The shape of the thing was blurry and indistinguishable, but the stench of decay and the heavy breathing in the air made his heart suffocate.

He paused for a moment, then suddenly remembered Lin Hong: "Lin Hong, are you alright?" He didn't dare call out, afraid that the thing that had crawled out of the ground would hear him. He could only grope blindly on the ground with his hands. He touched a shoe, a woman's high heel. Following the shoe upwards, he touched a smooth calf. Yes, this was Lin Hong. Further up, he found that Lin Hong had been buried in the soil.

Slowly regulating his breathing, Qin Fangcheng ignored the thing that was emerging from the soil. He had to hurry; any delay would result in Lin Hong being buried alive in the mud.

He knelt down and frantically dug the mud off Lin Hong's body with his bare hands. Suddenly, something darted to his side. Qin Fangcheng froze, his breath almost stopping, his heart pounding wildly, and all the muscles in his body losing their vitality. He stiffly turned his head to look, but it wasn't the monster that had crawled out of the ground; it was Zhao Zhuo.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" Zhao Zhuo hissed, "Dig her out quickly, or it will be too late." The monster was panting heavily behind them. Although it had great strength to push its way out of the ground, it was struggling to squeeze its bloated body out of the underground drainage pipe. Qin Fangcheng perked up and, together with Zhao Zhuo, their hands flew as they forcefully dug away the mud from Lin Hong's body. When Lin Hong's pale face was revealed, she let out a soft groan and suddenly sneezed, spraying two clumps of mud from her nostrils.

"How are you feeling?" Qin Fangcheng asked, patting Lin Hong's cheek. Zhao Zhuo suddenly pulled him up: "Run for your life! It's really too late!"

Indeed, it was too late. The monster had emerged from the ground and was crawling towards them. In that critical moment, Qin Fangcheng no longer cared about Lin Hong's life or death. He hoisted her onto his shoulder and ran with Zhao Zhuo. They wanted to escape to the edge of the alley, where the road was just outside, and the bright streetlights would make the monster retreat. However, they were too slow. Rescuing Lin Hong had taken up their precious time, and the monster's massive silhouette was already looming in front of them.

Left with no other choice, Qin Fangcheng gritted his teeth and followed Zhao Zhuo, turning and fleeing into the alley. The monster, like a dog emerging from the water, suddenly shook itself, sending up a cloud of dust. The dust settled, carrying the pungent stench of underground drainage pipes. Amidst this cloud of dust, the monster calmly moved its many unsettling, fleshy legs, then gave chase.

Lin Hong wasn't heavy, but at this critical moment, it became a burden. Fortunately, Zhao Zhuo wasn't running fast either; as he ran, he covered the hole on his head with his hand to prevent the semen from gushing out. Suddenly, Lin Hong, who was limply hanging on Qin Fangcheng's shoulder, cried out in surprise. Qin Fangcheng breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thank goodness, little miss, you're finally awake." Just as he was about to put Lin Hong down, he suddenly heard Lin Hong scream, "My feet! My feet! Something is grabbing my feet!"

Qin Fangcheng turned his head and his expression changed instantly. A long, colorless tentacle emerged from the darkness and wrapped around Lin Hong's ankle. The tentacle was like a cold, venomous snake, crawling up her leg.

At this moment, Qin Fangcheng had no choice. He gritted his teeth, forcefully carrying Lin Hong forward, trying to break free of the tentacle. However, the tentacle suddenly became thinner and longer, still tightly wrapped around Lin Hong's leg. At this moment, Zhao Zhuo revealed a ferocious expression. He reached into his tattered beggar's clothes and pulled out a gleaming boning knife. He took a step back, stretched out one hand, grabbed the tentacle, and chopped it down.

With a snap, the tentacle was severed. Just as Qin Fangcheng was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he suddenly saw Zhao Zhuo rushing towards him with a fierce look in his eyes. Qin Fangcheng was stunned. Zhao Zhuo had already rushed in front of him, his knife falling down as he desperately stabbed at something in the darkness.

Zhao Zhuo stabbed at the tentacle that had broken off from the mother plant.

Once the tentacle detached from its mother, it became even more malevolent, like a venomous snake, silently slithering in the darkness, its repulsive suckers opening as it lunged at Qin Fangcheng. If Zhao Zhuo hadn't stabbed him several times, Qin Fangcheng would likely have been entangled by this terrifying snake-like tentacle.

As Zhao Zhuo thrust forcefully, he stomped hard with his feet. Qin Fangcheng, regaining his senses, joined him in trampling the fragments of the evil life form. Only after the tentacle fragments were crushed into a bloody mess did Qin Fangcheng finally exhale a long breath. From the moment Zhao Zhuo drew his knife to sever the tentacles to the moment he had completely crushed the fragments, only two or three seconds had passed, but to Qin Fangcheng, that brief instant felt like centuries.

Although there was only a few seconds of delay, the monster did not catch up. Qin Fangcheng put down Lin Hong, who had regained consciousness, and pulled her forward, but Zhao Zhuo suddenly made a gesture: "Wait a minute, listen."

"Why aren't you running? What are you listening to at a time like this?" Qin Fangcheng said, and then he felt the ground shake.

The ground beneath their feet trembled slightly, as if an engine was running underground. Qin Fangcheng looked around in surprise, unable to grasp what the tremor meant. Suddenly, Zhao Zhuo grabbed his hand and shouted, "Run!" Then he dragged Qin Fangcheng back the way they had come from.

Qin Fangcheng followed Zhao Zhuo for only a few steps in a daze before he realized what was happening.

The monster was now in front of them.

The thought had barely crossed his mind when he heard a loud boom behind him—the sound of a monster bursting from the ground. Dust billowed up again, accompanied by the spraying sound of water from a broken drainage pipe. Its fleshy, gigantic feet pounded the ground, and the monster gave chase. Its movements remained sluggish, but this didn't stop it from getting closer and closer to Lin Hong and the other two.

Lin Hong had just woken from her unconsciousness and was unaware of what had happened. She felt as if she were in a terrifying nightmare, with something horrible chasing her, but she had no recollection of what it was. Several times, despite Qin Fangcheng and Zhao Zhuo's attempts to stop her, she turned back to get a clearer view, her curiosity about the monster's form seemingly far stronger than the terror she felt.

But she couldn't see the thing chasing her closely behind, she could only sense its enormous size and astonishing clumsiness. Suddenly, Zhao Zhuo, who was running in the lead, spread out his arms and stopped them from running: "Listen," he said, "has the monster gone around to the front again?"

Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng listened intently, but all they could hear was their own heavy breathing, so intense that it revealed their profound terror.

Everything Zhao Zhuo said was actually true!

8)

The night wind suddenly picked up, and the constant honking of car horns on the road just a stone's throw away made the night even more eerie. There seemed to be a ball of moonlight in the sky, but it was drowned out by the city lights. In the distance, a jumble of noises rang out, as if a door to another time and space had quietly opened at this moment. The gloomy, powerful, and terrifying sounds filled their senses, leaving no room for breathing.

"It's right under our feet!" Zhao Zhuo suddenly jumped up and shouted. At the same time, as he landed, he pushed Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng away with both hands. Just as the two were pushed away, they saw the monster suddenly arch out of the ground.

The thing only protruded its head, or a part resembling a head, but it had already completely destroyed the alleyway. If Zhao Zhuo hadn't noticed the monster's strange behavior early on and pushed Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng away, they would probably be buried in the ground again by now.

The monster was struggling to crawl out, trying to emerge from the underground pipe system. Zhao Zhuo had already pulled Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng along, and they ran towards an opening in the alley in the dark. The three of them stumbled forward for only a few steps before Zhao Zhuo suddenly stopped.

Before them stood a tall, massive mound, the ruins of a large building complex under construction.

Lin Hong stared in shock at the ruins of the building, and it took her a long time to recognize that it was the collapsed Taizhou International Exhibition Center. Dozens of dead people, their remains never found, were buried beneath these ruins. She had heard He Ming mention them to her before, and she had often passed by this place before, but she had never been so close to the ruins from this angle.

Previously, when she saw this ruin, she would only glance at it from afar in an expensive private car on a different road. From the distance, all she could see were massive concrete precast piles and slabs. Clearing this ruin required an earthwork comparable to building a medium-sized building. Because the officials in charge of the project were either imprisoned or dismissed, no one was willing to take on this mess for a long time. If they did, not only would it be difficult to achieve results for years, but they might also end up getting stuck in it. So the ruin has remained as it is now, stubbornly standing in the heart of the bustling city.

This ruin has stood for a long time, surrounded by makeshift shacks where villagers from distant countryside have come to the city to seek their fortune. Fu Xiuying, the woman who clearly considers herself Qin Fangcheng's wife, once lived in this area for a period of time. So, Qin Fangcheng should be very familiar with this area.

That's true in theory, but in reality, Qin Fangcheng felt even more unfamiliar with this area than Lin Hong.

Qin Fangcheng was imprisoned in the shed by Fu Xiuying. He was injured in the leg and could not move. He was later rescued by the police and never came back. Neither he nor Lin Hong expected that there were still several layers of this ruin that had not completely collapsed. From their angle, they could see that the bottom three layers, which had been smashed to pieces, were still standing. However, this standing only highlighted the desolation of the ruin.

At this moment, while they were being chased and desperately fleeing from something terrifying, the sight of these ruins evoked not the astonishment that the ruins still stood, but an inexplicable sense of dread.

The ruins stood starkly in the night, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding scenery and instilling in them a sense of fear and indescribable dread. It was as if they were facing not a ruin, but a far more terrifying and treacherous monster.

The ruins stood silently in the night, exuding a gloomy power that seeped into the hearts of Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng, like a giant toad, grinning silently, looking down at the three lowly creatures at its feet.

Looking at the dark ruins, Lin Hong felt a chill and involuntarily hugged Qin Fangcheng's arm. She could feel Qin Fangcheng's body trembling slightly. Clearly, he, like Lin Hong, felt the silent black power in front of the eerie ruins and couldn't help but reveal his fear and panic.

Zhao Zhuo also stopped. Unlike Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng, he stopped not because he was intimidated by the power of the ruins, but because he was listening to the sounds beneath his feet. His tense expression, agile movements, and organized strategy during his escape all indicated that he had likely spent this period in such escapes and chases, thus accumulating rich practical experience. He could pinpoint the exact location of monsters hiding underground based solely on the slightest movement under his feet—a skill that had already saved them several times.

Now Zhao Zhuo was listening intently, and Lin Hong and Qin Fangcheng dared not make a sound, lest they disturb him. They could only hide their fear of the ruins in their hearts. Zhao Zhuo tilted his head, and a ray of light shone on his face from somewhere. They could vaguely see a stream of liquid splashed from above his head flowing down his cheek, making him look indescribably eerie.

Suddenly, Zhao Zhuo's expression changed, and he raised his hand sharply, pointing to the ruins ahead: "Hurry up, that guy surnamed Du is catching up."

"Wait a minute," Lin Hong panicked when she saw Zhao Zhuo about to flee towards the ruins. She had been buried unconscious in the ground when the monster emerged from the earth, and when she woke up, she was just being dragged along by Zhao Zhuo and Qin Fangcheng, running around in a daze. Although she was scared, she was not as scared as Zhao Zhuo and Qin Fangcheng. Relatively speaking, she was more afraid of the dark ruins and dared not go in. "Let's... go somewhere else."

"It's too late! What time is it and you're still throwing a tantrum!" Zhao Zhuo angrily grabbed Lin Hong and stumbled forward. Lin Hong was unwilling, took a step forward, cried out, tripped on a cement slab, and fell. Fortunately, Qin Fangcheng caught her around the waist from behind, preventing her from falling to the ground.

In this critical moment, how could they afford to dawdle? A series of hissing sounds echoed behind them as the creature crawled out of the alley and slithered rapidly towards the three of them. Hearing the screeching sound of its massive carapace scraping against the ground, Lin Hong finally panicked. Forgetting her fear of the ruins, she let Qin Fangcheng pull her hand, and followed Zhao Zhuo into the rubble.

The ruins were pitch black, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Once inside, the three could only stay together by holding hands. Zhao Zhuo walked in front, followed by Lin Hong, and then Qin Fangcheng. Lin Hong couldn't see anything in the darkness and kept tripping over things. Zhao Zhuo, however, seemed to have night vision, nimbly navigating the stairwells, constantly reminding her, "Watch out, look down, watch your step, be careful on the left, there's a concrete slab on the right..." and so on. But because she couldn't see anything, Lin Hong still bumped into or knocked over hard objects, the pain causing her to sob involuntarily. Several times she really wanted to stop, but behind her, the thing had already caught up, its roar so loud it shook the entire ruins.

The creature's carapace or scales were incredibly hard. When it rammed into the massive concrete pillar, it sent it tumbling and crashing away, sending dust billowing everywhere. Lin Hong turned around in terror, but saw nothing; Qin Fangcheng's figure blocked her view. Suddenly, Zhao Zhuo told her to crouch down. Lin Hong didn't react immediately, and stepped forward. With a thud, her forehead struck a pillar lying across the ground. The pain was so intense she couldn't even scream. She shook off Zhao Zhuo and Qin Fangcheng's hands, clutching her forehead and groaning in pain.

The sound behind them grew closer and closer, almost right in front of them. Zhao Zhuo panicked, crouching down to pull Lin Hong back with all his might, while Qin Fangcheng pushed hard from behind. The three of them tumbled down the stairs like rolling gourds. It seemed that just as they were falling, a loud crash came from where Lin Hong's head had hit the ground; the thing had caught up with them.

The stairs leading down were smooth and clean, with nothing to bump into or trip over. It seemed to be a passageway specifically built for vehicles during the construction of an underground parking garage. Just as I was tumbling down, I suddenly heard Zhao Zhuo shout:

"Quick, stop! Stop! That thing is waiting for us down there!"

9)

Before Zhao Zhuo's shouts could stop, Qin Fangcheng, who was rolling at the back, suddenly stopped rolling. A cold, damp hand reached out and tightly grabbed Lin Hong's hand. Lin Hong immediately used the upward pull to grit her teeth and desperately climb upwards, with Zhao Zhuo close behind her. The three of them ran until they reached the top of the stairs before slowing down.

Zhao Zhuo paused for a moment, seemingly wanting to hear where the monster was. Then he quickly walked over, past Lin Hong, and took the lead, saying, "Follow me, and don't get separated." He then grabbed Lin Hong's hand and groped his way up a staircase in the dark.

A whooshing sound came from below, and the thing chased after them again. The collapsing concrete slabs collided with the scales on its massive body, creating a continuous crashing sound. Lin Hong's heart pounded wildly, her tension and fear growing stronger. What was that thing? How could it move so invisibly, appearing and disappearing without a trace? Her fear rose like mercury under the blazing sun, faster and higher, until suddenly she tripped and fell forward.

Zhao Zhuo was right in front of her. As she fell, she consciously reached out a hand to support herself on Zhao Zhuo, but her hand touched nothing and she fell to the ground with a thud.

She let out a scream as she fell, a scream filled with immense fear and indescribable terror.

She fell onto the fault line of the building's cross-section, her body protruding above the building from her chest. The fierce night wind tore at her long hair, and the hazy night was filled with flickering lights, the effect of the headlights of cars on the distant road.

Luckily she fell; otherwise, if she hadn't fallen and continued walking in the dark, she would have slipped and fallen from here.

Below are jagged concrete pillars and slabs; if you fall, even if you don't die, you'll inevitably suffer head injuries.

Lin Hong shook her head, just as she was about to breathe a sigh of relief, when she suddenly became nervous again.

Where is Zhao Zhuo?

Where did Zhao Zhuo go? She remembered clearly that Zhao Zhuo was walking in front of her, she was in the middle, and Qin Fangcheng was behind them. The three of them held hands the whole time to avoid getting separated. Only when she tripped and fell just now did she involuntarily let go of his hand, but even so, it did not change the fact that Zhao Zhuo was in front of her.

But now, all that lay before her was the ruins of a collapsed building. The building's structural planks had abruptly broken off, like a canyon. The long corridor they had just hurried across resembled the entrance to a cave within a canyon's fault line. The void before them couldn't hold anything; even a bird would need the flapping of its wings to be lifted by the air currents. So, where was Zhao Zhuo, who had been walking ahead of her?

Lin Hong was stunned. Instinctively, she grabbed the broken steel bars of the floor and shouted down:

"Zhao Zhuo, are you down there?"

Silence reigned, utterly silent, except for the eerie rustling that never ceased in the darkness; her cries went unanswered.

Slowly, Lin Hong sobbed and shrank back. She turned around and looked at Qin Fangcheng's motionless figure behind her, and finally shouted, "Why are you still standing there? Zhao Zhuo fell down! He just fell down!"

Qin Fangcheng shifted slightly, but still didn't answer. Lin Hong grew anxious, groped her way to him in the dark, and nudged him: "Hey, Lao Qin, why aren't you saying anything?"

The figure spoke: "I'm busy, please don't disturb my work." The voice was extremely strange, dry, hoarse, ethereal, as if squeezed out from some inorganic matter, light and airy, leaving one feeling adrift.

Lin Hong was confused: "You're working? Lao Qin, what nonsense are you talking about..." As she spoke, she reached out and grabbed Qin Fangcheng's sleeve. Just then, a car passed by, and the headlights flashed by, revealing Qin Fangcheng's face in the blink of an eye. Lin Hong immediately let out a terrified scream!
