Kapitel 65

Chapter 63, number 063

Yi Heye stared at the string of messages for a few seconds, then typed out two words: "Don't come."

After a few seconds of silence, a question mark ("?") appeared on the other end, clearly carrying an emotional tone.

At this moment, Yi Heye's attention was completely focused on Chen Sang. While listening to the noise, he typed a message to appease him: "I'm with Chen Sang now, don't bother me."

There was silence for a few seconds, then two more "??" were sent.

Just then, Yi Heye heard a retching sound coming from inside the door, so he ignored Jian Yunxian and called out, "Chen Sang? Are you alright?"

After vomiting for a while, a voice that sounded nonchalant finally came out: "It's nothing! Haha, you can go back now!"

Yi Heye did not leave, but continued to listen to the sounds inside.

He had already muted the messages, but it still couldn't stop a message from Jian Yunxian from popping up:

"Mr. Yi and Ms. Chen are together? Is that what I think?"

"It's a little unexpected, but after all, it's an old friend reuniting. Even if we're officially a couple, it's understandable if we put aside morality and ethics."

"But as your partner, I still want to give you a little reminder: developing personal relationships during work hours will result in a pay cut if you're caught."

"Considering our friendship over this period of time, if Mr. Yi's early return does not affect his work, I will consider not reporting him to his superiors."

Yi Heye read through everything half-heartedly, then looked at his own reply with doubt before realizing belatedly that this guy seemed to have misunderstood something.

Upon seeing this speculation, Yi Heye's first reaction was to coldly type out a string of sarcastic remarks—who does Jian Yunxian think he is? Why should he have to put up with his attitude? Do you know how pathetic he looks pretending to be calm?

But he scrolled up again and saw the message from that guy asking if he was going back. He remembered what Chen Sang had said, thought for a moment, and then deleted the sarcastic message. He explained the situation as calmly as possible: "I'm keeping an eye on her. I suspect she's also addicted to drugs. She's probably using them right now. Your presence is interfering with my observation."

After a long while, the other side slowly, silently, and in an attempt to retract their previous messages one by one without making a sound.

"Don't retreat," Yi Heye interrupted coldly. "Keep an eye on Liu Zhi for me."

The other side immediately stopped withdrawing, and after a long while, sent a real-time location as if to claim credit.

"I already asked my friend SHEEP to keep an eye on things. I'll let you know as soon as there's any news."

The other party was indeed thoughtful, and Yi Heye objectively and fairly gave them three thumbs up. The other party sent a grinning emoji.

It's exactly the same expression as SHEEP's.

Soon, Jian Yunxian sent another message: "However, his system is quite damaged. The recording and video recording functions are completely unusable. Even the world's best hackers can't find anything out about it."

Upon seeing the words "the world's most powerful hacker," Yi Heye suddenly felt like teasing him and replied, "My good friend Song Zhouzhou?"

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end: "It's my good friend SHEEP."

Seeing Jian Yunxian like this for the first time, Yi Heye inexplicably felt better. He raised the corners of his mouth, closed the message interface, and continued to listen to Chen Sang's movements.

After a bout of vomiting that left him feeling dizzy and disoriented, Chen Sang fell into a long silence.

Apart from the dripping sound of water, Yi Heye couldn't hear anything else. For a moment, he even wondered if the girl had died inside.

Just as he was hesitating whether to ask her, a terrifying cough erupted, so loud that it made one fear she might cough up all her internal organs.

After coughing for about half a minute, he finally couldn't hold back any longer and let out a painful wail: "Ahhh—please, just go, Ono—!!"

Before Yi Heye could say anything, a terrifying sound came from inside. It seemed that Chen Sang was banging on the wooden door of the cubicle, and there was a gurgling sound, like blood being squeezed out of someone's throat.

Chen Sang coughed and wailed, pleading with him, "Xiao Ye—go away! I beg you... don't look at me..."

The sound was truly heartbreaking; even Yi Heye, who had such poor empathy, wanted to help after hearing it.

However, he did not have any medication with him at the time, nor did he know the correct way to deal with the situation, so he could not help.

Moreover, although it was cruel, his purpose in this operation was to force out her addiction in order to uncover more information.

Yi Heye frowned, and after a long while, he said, "Don't hold back anymore."

Upon hearing this, she remained silent for half a second, then the feeling of distress forced her to sob again, but she still showed no intention of relaxing in front of him.

She couldn't completely trust Yi Heye.

The next second, there was another loud banging on the door from inside. If this continued, they might just end up with their heads split open.

In a moment of quick thinking, Yi Heye lied and said, "Don't be afraid, my boyfriend is just like you. I won't tell anyone."

These words seemed to calm Chen Sang down a little. She sobbed for a long time before finally asking, "...Really?"

"Um." Yi Heye wasn't very good at lying, so he could only try to minimize the number of words he spoke, "Really."

After a long while, Chen Sang asked him through tears, "Aren't you scared?"

“I was scared at first, but I’m not now,” Yi Heye replied cautiously. “You should start now. I know you’re feeling really bad… My boyfriend is always like this, so I understand you.”

Chen Sang remained silent for a long time before sobbing, "I really don't want this, Xiao Ye, but I just can't control myself. If I don't touch it for a day, I feel like I'm going to die..."

Yi Heye could only try his best to reassure her, saying, "Yes, I know."

They finally let their guard down.

Yi Heye seemed to hear something fall to the ground. The next second, the other person hurriedly knelt down and must have picked up the thing.

Syringe? Or ampoule? Yi Heye felt neither seemed quite right; the sound was more like the texture of plastic. It fell to the ground with a "thud" but didn't break.

Then, a suppressed and painful moan came from inside, and Yi Heye knew that she had begun.

The medicine worked faster than he had expected, calming Chen Sang's agitation almost instantly.

He heard Chen Sang's breathing gradually calm down, and then he couldn't help but let out a silly laugh. Soon, the man began to mutter some words that he couldn't understand, babbling and groaning, as if he were sending a telegram to aliens.

"I fucking... I fucking..." came the incoherent ramblings from inside, like someone drunk, slurred and illogical, "I'm really awesome, my singing is way better than those lousy bastards on stage!"

Yi Heye frowned and tried to pick up where she left off: "Yes, I also think you sing very well."

"Wow!" Chen Sang was amused by his words and became excited. "You really have a good eye. It's a pity that those idiots don't know how to appreciate it!"

Then she sang two more lines in a daze, probably combining two unrelated songs, but even so, it was surprisingly not bad.

Soon, Chen Sang couldn't hold back her tears again: "I just want to stand on the stage and sing. What did I do wrong? Nobody wants me to go on stage..."

Yi Heye followed her question and asked, "Why?"

“Because he’s damn broke. Mu Mu used to fall out with other people to get me on stage, and then the whole D district blacklisted me…” Chen Sang said dejectedly. “Oh… but don’t blame Mu Mu. I’m only alive because Mu Mu supported me… I’m a good-for-nothing, but she isn’t…”

Yi Heye: "You're not useless, you sing very well."

“What’s the point…” Chen Sang cried, “Nobody listens! I’m like a clown, making a fool of myself on the street every day…”

Yi Heye didn't know what to say to comfort him, so he could only awkwardly steer the conversation in the direction he wanted: "What kind of drugs are you taking? How did you come into contact with them in the first place?"

At this moment, Yi Heye realized that this guy still had some rationality left. She choked for a moment, then skipped the first question: "I used to have an agent, and he helped me swear... to his own mother and uncle."

Yi Heye: "Who?"

Chen Sang hated this topic and cursed, "Damn it, I don't remember."

Yi Heye knew this topic was becoming a bit sensitive, but he had no choice but to ask: "Who do you buy your medicine from now?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Sang's voice suddenly tightened: "Xiao Ye, what exactly do you want to do by asking these questions?"

Yi Heye knew he wouldn't get any more answers, so he could only try to salvage the situation by saying, "I want to know more about my boyfriend."

Chen Sang sighed and said, "Let's break up. Once you're involved with this stuff, you're no longer a human being."

Yi Heye could only nod: "Okay."

Finally, after a long silence, with a muffled "bang," Chen Sang must have kicked open the wooden door in front of him.

Yi Heye watched helplessly as the girl rushed out of the room, looking dazed.

"Don't look at me!" Chen Sang warned as he took off his shirt and disappeared into the nearby grove of trees.

Then a rustling commotion came from inside.

Yi Heye pricked up his ears and listened carefully. He heard some sounds that were inconvenient to describe. Then the sounds grew louder and more frantic, and there was no intention of concealing them at all.

For a moment, Yi Heye even thought he was browsing the Pink Love Trend, and the whole world was filled with such energetic and exaggerated performances.

But clearly, Chen Sang's voice was not exaggerated at all; she was genuinely screaming from the bottom of her heart, as if she could never be satisfied, her voice urgent, broken, and desperate.

"Waaaaah..." Chen Sang cried out, "Help me, please, ahhh..."

*High libido is a typical symptom after drug use, and Yi Heye was not surprised by this. If nothing unexpected happens, the effects of the drug should wear off by dawn.

His mission for tonight was complete—he confirmed that Chen Sang was indeed addicted to drugs and witnessed a drug withdrawal episode, which could be considered a gain.

Ultimately, he was still afraid that this guy would suddenly die in the woods. Yi Heye sighed, took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth, but didn't smoke it.

He listened blankly to the sounds behind him, while looking at the night sky above the woods, watching the stars and moon slowly rise from one end to the other. Chen Sang finally grew tired.

When she emerged from the woods, she was already dressed, though there was some blood on her trousers, and she looked disoriented.

"Let's go." Yi Heye stood up, intending to throw away the cigarette in his mouth.

Chen Sang sighed and said, "Damn it, homosexuals are awesome. I was like that, and you didn't even react."

Yi Heye raised his eyes, his first reaction was one of smugness—look how good my acting is.

But soon, he felt that something was not quite right.

It seems like I've really... lost interest in this kind of thing...?

For a moment, he felt that he had been provoked too much by Jian Yunxian and had unknowingly become a nun. But when he recalled the scene of him back to back with that guy last night, his ears turned red again in an instant.

This made him feel somewhat horrified. He slowly pondered the difference between the two things and thought about the indescribable posts he had seen on a certain forum.

He thought of the descriptions of homosexual harmony, the words describing pleasure, and the detailed descriptions of pain.

He found himself walking out of that empty door again.

Only then did the conclusion that terrified him slowly take shape in his mind—

You're not actually gay, are you, Yi Heye?!
