Bo Qinghuan - Capítulo 24

Capítulo 24

Yun Chan was lying in Xia Yi's arms before she fainted, and when she woke up she was still lying in his arms, without even changing her posture. For a moment she almost thought she was still halfway up Yanshan Mountain.

She quietly raised her eyes and realized she was in bed, while Xia Yi sat on the edge, holding her motionless. His peach blossom eyes were peacefully closed, his long eyelashes drooping slightly, and his brow was relaxed. All his usual arrogance and haughtiness had vanished.

She was as still as a painting, only her arms were tightly wrapped around herself.

Yun Chan couldn't help but smile slightly, and secretly moved a little closer to him. But then his peach blossom eyes suddenly opened, and he looked at her and smiled: "Awake?"

Yun Chan was extremely embarrassed and quickly pushed him away, angrily saying, "Are you pretending to be asleep?"

Xia Yi tightened her arms to stop her from running away, her eyes brimming with laughter: "Xiao Chan."

"What?" she asked uneasily. The way he looked at her seemed to be eyeing a plate of delicious food, as if he were about to devour it at any moment, which was a little unsettling.

Xia Yi forcefully pulled her back into his arms, then gently rested his chin on her head, chuckling as he said, "Don't be so reckless again. With your skills, you dare to take a knife for me."

"Ugh, that jerk, he always manages to insult her in every little thing he says. Would it kill him to say thank you?" Miss Yun snorted and ignored him.

But it seemed like it had been a long time since the two of them had spoken like this. Yun Chan thought for a moment, then chuckled to herself. Hearing the laughter, Xia Yi couldn't help but reach out and pinch her cheek: "What are you laughing at?"

"It's nothing." Yun Chan angrily pried his hand away and casually asked, "Where are the others?"

"They're all here. Back then, many people were caught in the Bewitching Valley, so they all came to the Dragon Wind Escort Agency near Yanshan to find a place to rest."

"oh."

After waiting for a while and seeing that she had nothing else to say, Xia Yi was a little disappointed. She reached out and pinched her cheek again: "You were also poisoned by the Migu. Although the poison has been mostly cleared up, you still need to rest well."

"Oh," Yun Chan replied absentmindedly. What Migu Valley? She'd never even heard of it. It probably wasn't some kind of potent poison. But then, something flashed through her mind, and she abruptly looked up at him: "Dead Xia..."

"Hey, how did those lackeys get poisoned while fighting you?"

Xia Yi's hand froze.

Ah, is that so? She had just woken up and was already thinking about asking about that man. He was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure of his own feelings, and simply stared at her without saying a word.

Yun Chan had already suspected that the henchmen, who had been perfectly fine when they were with her and hadn't suffered any injuries after fighting Xia Yi, were suddenly vomiting blood. Now, seeing the unusual look on Xia Yi's face, she was even more alarmed and hesitantly asked, "Could it be that poison…?"

"...Did you put it there?"

A nameless anger suddenly welled up inside him, and he stared straight at her: "So what if it is?"

Yun Chan was immediately anxious and alarmed: "The lackey is not from the Demonic Sect. You didn't even investigate properly. What if you accidentally kill him?"

The joy that had just filled her heart vanished in an instant. Xia Yi sneered, "I want him dead, so what?"

Yun Chan was startled by the fleeting ruthlessness in his eyes.

A small voice inside her tried to convince herself, "No, no, Xia Yi mistook the henchmen for members of the Demonic Cult, he wasn't killing indiscriminately." She steadied herself and looked back at him: "You're lying to me. I was there the whole time you were fighting."

Everyone was watching; how could you possibly have had a chance to poison him? And if it really was you, when did you do it?

Xia Yi's expression finally froze completely.

"But if Miss kills Lou Guyan, she will be heartbroken and blame herself when she finds out."

He gradually loosened his grip on her, then clenched his fist again, his nails seemingly digging into her palm. After a long while, Xia Yi slowly turned her face away: "Back at the Jinxiu Inn. I had already found out Lou Guyan's identity then."

Upon hearing this, Yun Chan stared at him blankly. He knew back then? And then secretly poisoned his henchmen?

Xia Yi suddenly seemed unfamiliar to her. A chill ran through her heart, and she didn't want to look at Xia Yi anymore, refusing to look at this unfamiliar Xia Yi.

"Despicable!" Yun Chan shoved him away with a slap, then jumped off the bed and left.

Xia Yi remained frozen in place.

The force of that palm strike was weak and ineffective, yet why did it make him so miserable that even breathing hurt?

They were so close to going back to how things were before, but now they seem to be drifting further and further apart. When did things start to turn out this way between them, and why did they turn out this way?

A murderous glint suddenly appeared in Peach Blossom's eyes—it would have been better to kill that man sooner rather than later; she should have killed him back when they were at the Yuanqing Sect.

After a long while, he finally picked up his sword and silently went out the door.

---

Yun Chan stepped out of the room and realized that the escort agency was enormous, and she didn't know anyone there. Just as she was about to ask someone if Qian Jun was there, she suddenly saw Shen Yao looking travel-worn, as if he had just returned from somewhere. Seeing him push open a door and enter a room, she quickly followed him in.

.

When Shen Yao saw her barge in, he was startled, and his expression became unsteady again: "Miss Yun, you..." How could you just casually enter a man's room?

Yun Chan ignored him and searched his room before asking, "Where is Qianjun?"

So you came to my room looking for Qianjun? Shen Yao's expression became even more unsteady: "I don't know either. Besides, where is Miss Qianjun? Why is Miss Yun asking me?"

Yun Chan glanced at him: "Isn't she in this escort agency?"

"She didn't come along."

"What? There was fog and poison in the fog around you, and you just abandoned her?"

Shen Yao frowned slightly at her questioning: "Qianjun should be fine, Miss Yun, you can rest assured."

"How did you know?" Yun Chan asked back. However, noticing his tired face and remembering that he had just returned from a long journey, she immediately smiled again, "You just went to Yanshan to see her, didn't you?"

Shen Yao's handsome face turned red.

Yun Chan didn't even look at him, and suddenly raised her voice: "Do you have a brain?! Do you think that just because there's no body on Yanshan Mountain, she's safe and sound? Maybe she was poisoned and passed out, and was taken away by the Demonic Cult!"

Shen Yao's expression immediately changed.

Seeing his expression change, Yun Chan felt much better and waved her hand, saying, "I was just scaring you. Qian Jun is so skilled and has such good lightness skills, he must have run far away long ago. He wouldn't be as silly as you."

Shen Yao finally glared at her angrily.

Yun Chan waved her sleeves, turned around, and left.

She wandered aimlessly, eventually leaving the escort agency. It was already dusk, and the area wasn't exactly bustling. Yun Chan was restless and agitated as she walked, and before she knew it, she had walked quite a distance. She looked around and decided to turn back.

No matter what, Xia Yi is Xia Yi, and she has no reason to be afraid of anyone but him. She had previously resolved to make up with him the moment she saw him again; their last argument was just too painful, and she never wanted to fall out with him like that again. Besides, we'll see.

You should talk to him calmly and patiently about his problems.

Lost in thought, Yun Chan suddenly caught a glimpse of a woman in purple darting away around the street corner. She immediately recognized her, and after a moment's thought, she remembered—wasn't that the henchman she'd seen before? Could the henchman also be among them?

Did she escape far? Seeing the woman in purple disappear in an instant, Yun Chan didn't have time to think and used her lotus-steps to chase after her.

The woman in purple moved swiftly, and Yun Chan, fearing she would lose her, chased after her with all her might, barely daring to breathe. However, she had only practiced the Lotus Steps Flower-Blooming Technique that Qian Jun had taught her casually every night before bed, and her footwork was rusty. After chasing for a while, she...

She was already too weak to continue.

Sure enough, in the short time she was stunned, the woman in purple had already disappeared.

Yun Chan couldn't help but feel annoyed. She also noticed that the surrounding area was extremely desolate and she didn't know where she was, which made her even more uneasy.

She decided to try going back the way she came. Dejected, she turned around, only to see a person standing a few steps ahead.

Her white robes fluttered in the wind, and even standing casually in the wilderness, she possessed an ethereal beauty.

Yun Chan exclaimed in surprise: "A lackey?"

Lou Lou looked at her and smiled slowly: "So Miss Yun has such good lightness skills but has been keeping them hidden all along. She even fooled me."

"I'm not lying to you! My lightness skill was originally..." Yun Chan wanted to say that her lightness skill was originally useless, but then she thought that would be insulting herself. So she changed her words and said, "Qian Jun taught me lightness skill later."

Lou Lou laughed even more heartily: "Is that so? Then who taught you to poison me?"

Yun Chan's eyes widened. What did that mean? Did the henchmen think she was the one who poisoned him?

She desperately wanted to retort, but how could she say it? Should she tell him that Xia Yi was the one who poisoned him? Wouldn't that cause him trouble for Xia Yi, whose martial arts skills seemed superior...?

After pondering for a while, Yun Chan finally asked with concern, "Is your poison serious?"

Lou Lou's smile turned cold.

She didn't deny it? It really was her, it really was her.

Whose fault is it? He had long been used to not trusting anyone, but he swallowed the antidote for the dissolving poison so carelessly.

It's more reassuring to be with someone. It was just something she said to beg for mercy, but I was the only one who took it seriously from beginning to end.

He could no longer laugh. He slowly raised the knife in his hand and finally stabbed it towards her throat.

With a clang, a sword was thrown through the air, cleaving the falling blade from Lou Lou's body.

Xia Yi leaped forward, scooped up Yun Chan, and took a few steps back. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he raised his sword and prepared to attack Lou Lou again. But Yun Chan suddenly grabbed Xia Yi's waist tightly: "No! You damned Xia Yi, don't hurt him anymore!"

The henchman's face was terrifyingly pale, as if he couldn't even stand steadily. Yun Chan felt a chill run down her spine just looking at him. The poison he'd been given must have been very potent; otherwise, how could he, who was always all smiles, be so expressionless? It was as if... as if she...

That one sentence just now completely killed me.

"If you don't want to be alone in the future, you need to learn to trust the people around you more."

She didn't lie to him. She didn't poison him.

Yun Chan desperately wanted to shout it out; she should clarify things, and that might make him feel better. But the henchman's martial arts were so powerful; she didn't want him to cause trouble for Xia Yi. In the end, she kept all her words to herself.

Yun Chan used all her strength to hold Xia Yi back until she saw Lou Lou turn and leave. Only then did she let go of his hand numbly, but her feet involuntarily took a few steps in the direction he had left.

Xia Yi grabbed her in a fit of rage: "He's trying to kill you! And you're still chasing after him?"

Yun Chan broke free from his grasp and said angrily, "I want to go home!"

She couldn't explain why she was angry, and angrily tried to shake off Xia Yi with her lotus-step-blowing technique. But after taking only a few steps, she suddenly felt her body lighten, clearly indicating that someone had lifted her up.

"A lackey?" Yun Chan turned her head in surprise and fear, only to find that the one carrying her was none other than Lady Guiyue!

It was you at first glance.

5. You are the one I love most in the whole world.

Lady Guiyue rushed into a dilapidated house carrying Yun Chan, then tossed her to the ground. A short while later, another person rushed in—it was Qian Jun.

"I was terrified! He almost caught up with me!" Qianjun wiped the sweat from his brow and yelled at Madam Guiyue, "You old hag, next time you'll die on your own! You kidnapped someone right under that Master Xia's nose without even a word!"

"You're trying to kill me!"

Lady Guiyue scoffed, "Look at your pathetic self. With your master's lightness skill, how could he possibly catch up?"
