Canción escarlata anti-hueso - Capítulo 23
Di Xiu flipped her wrist, freeing herself from his grip, and took a few steps back, saying, "So what if I wasn't poisoned?! Let's settle this once and for all!"
Yuchi Siguang put his hands behind his back and laughed, "Over the years, you've diligently practiced various martial arts, and even secretly learned the 'Falling Cloud Sword Technique,' all so you could fight me. Di Xiu, you are indeed a talented person, but unfortunately, you are not worthy to fight me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the hall doors swung open. Hundreds of burly men with swords rushed in and engaged the group of men in black in combat.
Yuchi Siguang looked at Yuchi Caiyao and said, "Caiyao, you are still my daughter. I only want you to marry, not to take your life. It's not too late for you to change your mind..."
Yu Chi Caiyao was already alarmed and hesitated for a moment.
Yuchi Siguang then said, "Di Xiu, considering our past relationship as master and servant, if you obediently complete the wedding ceremony today, I will only cripple your martial arts and spare your life, how about that?"
Di Xiu gritted his teeth and said coldly, "Don't even think about it!"
"Then don't blame me." Yu Chi Siguang picked up the longsword beside him and said coldly, "Zhong Ling Yu Xiu, it's all over now..."
The two men stared at each other coldly, a battle about to erupt. Just then, the sound of galloping hooves rang out, shaking the pillars and beams. Arrows flew in, forcing everyone to stop fighting and make way.
A horde of soldiers surged into the hall, clad in chainmail and wielding swords and bows, their imposing presence awe-inspiring. Outside the gate, even more soldiers, along with hundreds of iron cavalry, formed a truly terrifying array.
Yuchi Siguang was extremely astonished by this display of force.
"The Prince of Nanling's Mansion?!"
Upon hearing the name, Di Xiu was greatly surprised and turned to look at the doorway.
A magnificent horse burst through the gate, its black mane and red saddle gleaming with extraordinary grace. When Di Xiu recognized the rider, his astonishment grew, and he could hardly believe it.
The person on horseback was undoubtedly Yuchi Mingyue. She wore a dark blue robe and a black brocade cloak, and her hair was tied in a braid, which added to her heroic spirit.
She pulled on the reins, her gaze sweeping over everyone in the hall before finally settling on Di Xiu.
She frowned, her eyes filled with anger and resentment, and said loudly:
"I've already said it! I don't agree to this marriage!"
Chapter Twenty-Six
"I've already said it! I don't agree to this marriage!"
Everyone was stunned by these words.
Yu Chi Siguang was the first to understand and shouted, "Mingyue! Stop fooling around!"
Yu Chi Mingyue glanced at him and said, "Anyway, I don't agree!"
“Mingyue, you…” For a moment, Yuchi Siguang was speechless.
Yu Chi Mingyue stared at Di Xiu. His red robes were blindingly bright, making her even more agitated. With anger in her eyes, she said to him, "Come back to the Nanling Prince's Mansion with me."
Di Xiu stared at her blankly, his mind a complete blank, unable to answer anything.
Yu Chi Mingyue frowned and said, "If you don't leave, I'll tie you up and take you away!"
Di Xiu was slightly startled, and only then did he come to his senses. He shouted at her, "Absurd!"
Upon hearing his words, Yu Chi Mingyue's anger intensified, and she was about to order him to be bound. Suddenly, several loud explosions rang out, shaking the roof and causing the beams to tremble.
Everyone was shocked and didn't understand what was going on.
Then, Yu Chi Caiyao burst into laughter, saying, "Hahaha, Fourth Sister, you're so funny..."
Yu Chi Mingyue looked at her, somewhat puzzled.
"So many people risked their lives to protect you from this place, yet you still came here on your own... Silly sister, you shouldn't have come." She looked at Yuchi Siguang beside her and said coldly, "Father, I've already planted gunpowder around the hall..."
"Caiyao, have you gone mad!" Yuchi Siguang roared.
Yu Chi Caiyao said sadly, "So what if I'm crazy? I really don't understand why you're doing this to me... But it doesn't matter now..."
As she spoke, another explosion occurred, and the tremors became even stronger.
"Go quickly!" Yuchi Siguang shouted.
Everyone rushed outside, and the hall descended into chaos.
Yu Chi Mingyue was terrified and didn't know what to do. Her steed, startled by the explosion, lost its composure, neighing and galloping wildly, uncontrollable.
The soldiers of the Prince of Nanling wanted to go forward, but the chaotic situation prevented them from getting close.
Seeing the horse kicking and leaping wildly, almost throwing Yu Chi Mingyue off, Di Xiu leaped up, stepping over the shoulders of the crowd, and mounted the horse, pulling hard on the reins to steady it.
Yu Chi Mingyue was slightly startled. Before she could react, the explosion intensified, and bricks and tiles fell, crashing down on everyone.
Seeing this, Di Xiu loosened the reins and spurred his horse, rushing straight out the door.
At that moment, chaos erupted outside as people galloped and horses neighed. Then, a deafening roar followed, and turning around, the hall collapsed with the force of a landslide. Smoke and dust billowed, obscuring vision, leaving only faint figures fleeing in all directions.
Yu Chi Mingyue felt a sharp pain in her eardrums, her temples throbbing, and her head spinning. Although she was worried, her thoughts were in complete disarray, and she couldn't calm herself down.
Di Xiu did not hesitate. He spurred his horse and galloped out of the manor, leaving along a small path.
By this time, it was completely dark. Clouds obscured the moon, and a misty haze hung in the air. The cool, damp night breeze washed away the lingering smell of cooking fires.
Yu Chi Mingyue slowly calmed down, only then realizing that her back was pressed against his chest. The warmth of his body, his rising and falling breaths, so close. For some reason, she felt a surge of emotions, her heart pounding uncontrollably.
He didn't know how far he had gone, but he pulled on the reins, jumped off the horse, and dismounted.
Yu Chi Mingyue panicked and shouted, "Don't leave!"
Upon hearing this, Di Xiu looked up at her and said with slight anger, "What exactly does Fourth Miss want?"
Yu Chi Mingyue dismounted and stepped forward, saying, "That's what I should be asking you. What exactly do you want?!"
“I am dull-witted and do not understand what Miss Di is saying,” Di Xiu replied, frowning.
"Why did you marry my second sister?" Yu Chi Mingyue questioned.
Upon hearing this, Di Xiu frowned even more deeply. The situation just now had been incredibly perilous. Having barely escaped danger, the first thing she asked was this?
“I have already answered this question,” Di Xiu said, avoiding her gaze.
"I already said it, I disagree! No matter what, I just don't agree!" Yu Chi Mingyue stomped her foot and said indignantly.
Di Xiufu recalled the events of that previous night. She had said the same things, had the same expression, and the reason given was always the same: You are not worthy.
Thinking of this, he felt indignant and gritted his teeth, saying, "Fourth Miss, don't be unreasonable!"
Yu Chi Mingyue called back, saying, "You're the one being unreasonable!"
Di Xiu's composure crumbled instantly, his eyes filled with indignation, unable to contain himself, "When have I ever been unreasonable!"
Yu Chi Mingyue took a step closer, pointed at him, and said, "You promised to marry me, but now you want to marry my second sister. Aren't you just being unreasonable!"
Di Xiu was slightly taken aback, then angrily retorted, "Don't be so unreasonable!"
"I'm being unreasonable, but I'm better than you being cold and heartless!" Yu Chi Mingyue retorted.
"I'm cold-hearted?" Di Xiu stepped forward and retorted, "You're ridiculous and childish!"
Upon hearing this, Yu Chi Mingyue was furious and retorted, "You are ruthless and cunning, hiding a knife behind your smile!"
“You are willful, capricious, and unreasonable!” Di Xiu retorted.
"You are cowardly, despicable, heartless and ungrateful!" Yu Chi Mingyue took another step forward and cursed.
“You are shallow, ridiculous, and utterly improper!” Di Xiu said.
"You are vulgar, shameless, and heartless!" Yu Chi Mingyue said as she approached him.
"You've said 'cold-blooded' twice already!" Di Xiu gritted her teeth and roared, "You're out of things to say, aren't you!"
Yu Chi Mingyue was speechless and could only glare at him resentfully. After their argument, her eyes were red and brimming with tears.
Seeing her like this, Di Xiu refrained from uttering any harsh words and remained silent.
"Yes... I am absurd, childish, willful, and capricious, but what can I do about it?!" Yu Chi Mingyue looked at him and said sadly, "Tell me, how can I watch the person I love marry someone else?"
Upon hearing these words, Di Xiu froze on the spot.
"I know perfectly well that you are cold-blooded, heartless, and despicable, but I just can't let go... I know you're lying to me, and I want to ignore you, but... I just can't help it!" As Yu Chi Mingyue spoke, tears streamed down her face. "...I'm here today to steal you away! You can call me ridiculous, call me absurd, I accept it all! Even if I'm ridiculed, I don't care! I just want you by my side..." Her voice grew increasingly sorrowful, her words almost pleading, "Power, status, gold, silver... whatever you want, I'll give you..."
Di Xiu gazed at her, his heart trembling slightly. His eyes involuntarily welled up with tears, and he was speechless, stunned.
Yu Chi Mingyue gazed at him, her heart burning with desire. Before he could answer, she reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed his lips fiercely.
Di Xiu was utterly astonished and momentarily at a loss. The slightly salty taste of tears tingled his tongue, stirring his emotions and rendering him unable to think clearly. Her kiss was no longer as gentle and tender as before. She clung to him, biting and nibbling, her wild, venting passion seemingly forcing him to submit.
He abandoned his resistance, reached out and hugged her tightly, responding to her longing. The bitterness and ache in his heart had vanished at that moment.
They slowly separated only when they had run out of breath.
Yu Chi Mingyue was still holding him, slightly out of breath, sobbing softly.
Di Xiu gently pressed her forehead against hers, frowning as she asked, "Are you really here to steal the bride?"
Yu Chi Mingyue choked up and nodded.
Di Xiu then asked, "You came on horseback? You're not good at riding, why didn't you take a carriage?"
Yu Chi Mingyue spoke up, sounding aggrieved: "...I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up...so I learned to ride as I went, but Xi Zhui wouldn't listen to me...my legs are all blistered..."
Di Xiu felt a pang of heartache and muttered a curse under his breath: "Fool."
Yu Chi Mingyue retorted, dissatisfied, "You're the fool..."
Di Xiu laughed, released her embrace, and reached out to wipe away her tears, "Don't cry..."
Yu Chi Mingyue looked at him, holding back her tears, and asked, "Are you still going to marry my second sister?"
Di Xiu shook his head helplessly, "I never intended to marry her anyway."
Upon hearing this, Yu Chi Mingyue was delighted, and a smile appeared on her face. Suddenly, she remembered something and frowned, asking, "By the way... you two didn't seem to be having a wedding ceremony just now... what exactly happened?"
Di Xiu couldn't help but laugh, her expression full of helplessness. "My fourth young lady, you're only asking now?"
Yu Chi Mingyue retorted, dissatisfied, "What do you mean by that?!"
Di Xiu sighed, "It's a long story, I'll tell you slowly later."
Yu Chi Mingyue snorted and said, "No need to tell me. I have no interest in knowing!"
Di Xiu was about to speak when he heard a commotion of voices approaching.
Yu Chi Mingyue stood beside him, took his hand, and asked, "Who could it be?"
