A cold sweat trickled down my spine; I realized I might have been exaggerating. I quickly sat up. "Who told you to kiss me? Besides, I felt comfortable and naturally fell asleep."

"Was it really comfortable?" Yin Tianyu immediately put on a mischievous grin and leaned closer: "How about we do it again?"

"No!" I jumped up. "Let's talk about it next time I have insomnia."

"What time is it?" Yin Tianyu asked casually.

"It's six o'clock. Don't you wear a watch?"

"What? It's six o'clock? Oh no, oh no, I'm going to die! I'm going to get hammered to death." Yin Tianyu jumped up, muttering as he dragged me out and started running wildly. He didn't even have time to say goodbye to the others. He threw me into the car, jumped in himself, and sped away like a puff of smoke.

When we arrived at his apartment, he kept urging me to take a shower and change my clothes. When we went out, I found that he had also taken a shower and changed his clothes.

He seemed fairly satisfied with my speed in leaving, as he wasn't as impulsive as before when driving. I finally caught my breath and asked him, "Where are we going this time?" I thought the truth about this mysterious trip had finally come to light.

"I met my parents and a whole bunch of relatives."

"What?!" If I weren't wearing a seatbelt, I would have definitely pulled off a high-difficulty maneuver in the train carriage. It's remarkable how calmly Yin Tianyu spoke, as if he were merely inquiring about his aunt's health.

"Why should I meet your parents and a bunch of unrelated people?" I was getting a little angry.

"What's wrong? Are you upset that I didn't visit your parents first? Actually, I did go, but since you weren't there, it wasn't a formal visit. Xia Mengmeng just led me there as a friend."

"What else have you done behind my back?" I really can't think of anything else he wouldn't dare to do or wouldn't want to do.

"It's not that much. But I seem to be a good match for my future mother-in-law! She's very nice to me."

"Did she bring out her supposedly treasured oolong tea that she'd kept for over ten years and brew it for you, then peel oranges for you, and finally desperately try to get you to stay for dinner, piling a huge table of chicken, duck, fish, and meat into your bowl while constantly saying things like, 'I'm sorry to make you eat a meal without any side dishes'?"

"Huh? How did you know?"

"This is how my mom treats all the males who come to our house as my classmates, colleagues, or friends." I sighed sadly.

"But I really feel that Aunt Lin treats me differently." No matter how much I tried to put Yin Tian down, he still felt good about himself.

"My parents have been married for decades. Although they have occasional arguments, their relationship is absolutely excellent. Don't even think about messing with my mom!"

The way Yin Tian and Zi Ya looked like they wanted to bite me to death made me laugh. But the thought of what would happen later made my scalp tingle. That situation was too embarrassing.

"Today is my parents' wedding anniversary, not a party specifically for you, so don't worry about it." Yin Tianyu had a change of heart and finally agreed to help me relax.

"But I didn't buy anything. It's not good to go empty-handed." I'm starting to consider the responsibilities I should fulfill as someone's girlfriend. That's progress.

"Don't worry, I bought it." Yin Tianyu also noticed my progress, and his expression was very happy.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Anyway, I never really intended to marry him. What's wrong with meeting his family? If they dislike me for not being classy or ladylike, or for the disparity in our social status, and oppose my relationship with Yin Tianyu, then I won't have to worry about our unconventional relationship anymore.

Thinking about it this way, I actually felt much more at ease. Yin Tianyu looked at me suspiciously for a few moments, and asked with apprehension and a lack of confidence, "You're not up to some bad idea again, are you?"

"No, how could that be? I was just thinking about how to please your parents and all your relatives later!" I said with an innocent smile.

Part Two, Chapter Twenty

This is a villa next to Luhu Lake, its exterior not particularly ostentatious. The party had already begun when I followed Yin Tianyu inside. Before I could even examine the entryway tiles closely, a figure darted towards me like an arrow, "Sister Li Hao!"

It was DIDO! She had such sharp eyes: "Wow, what a morally reprehensible act! Wearing matching outfits—Tianyu has really ruined his image this time. Sister Li Hao, you'd better be careful, being with Tianyu might lead to pregnancy. Auntie, come quick! Tianyu really brought his girlfriend!"

I started to feel dizzy. I turned to look at Yin Tianyu, who had a gloating look on his face. He pretended to be heartbroken and came up to me in a low voice, saying, "Stir-fried green onions with wine and vegetables, good heavens, when this woman gets nosy, even ten F-16s couldn't stop her."

“Auntie, Tianyu said I’m a busybody!” DIDO was not discouraged at all.

Suddenly, I felt a huge crowd around me, as if the whole world had gathered around. Yin Tianyu promptly put his hand on my shoulder. "Mom, Dad, this is Li Hao, and these are my parents." This dispelled my hopeless thought of running away. I forced a smile, bowed, and said, "Hello, Uncle, hello, Aunt." I was still thinking how much my mother would have loved to say to everyone with tears in her eyes if she were here, "Look how well-mannered our child is!"

Before I could even finish my thought, I felt Yin Tianyu turn my body 45 degrees and whisper to me, "My parents are over here."

I really wish I could faint at the right moment, just like the female lead in a Korean drama!

My hands, clenched so tightly they were dripping with cold sweat, were suddenly grasped by another pair of warm hands. "Ms. Li, hello, it's so nice to see you here."

I looked up and saw a middle-aged woman in a cheongsam looking at me with great kindness. Although she was very tall, at least 1.7 meters, I didn't feel particularly oppressed, perhaps because I could vaguely make out someone's features in her eyes and brows. This must be my "aunt." Standing next to her was my "uncle," who was equally tall, dressed in a tuxedo and carrying a tie! I really can't accept seeing men dressed like that, except in TV dramas and wedding photos. The words "country bumpkin" involuntarily popped into my head with a guilty conscience. If the person I saw in my "aunt's" face was only vague, then in my "uncle's" face you would know what dominant genes are, which made me feel good about them from the first glance.

"Just call me Li Hao. I've heard from Yin Tianyu that your aunt is a great cook, and I really hope I'll have the chance to try it." The delighted look on "Aunt's" face made me extremely optimistic about my future as a bootlicker.

"Tianyu, may I speak with Miss Li alone?" The "uncle" smiled and "discussed" with Yin Tianyu in an unquestionable tone before leading the way to the side.

Why do you want to talk to me alone as soon as you arrive? I looked at Yin Tianyu; he was the only person here I felt I could rely on. He smiled at me reassuringly and said, "Go ahead, my dad might give you some junk stone and solemnly tell you it's a family heirloom or something as a greeting gift. Remember, you should accept whatever he gives you; only a fool wouldn't."

"Auntie!" *smack!* A hand slapped Yin Tianyu on the back of the head. I couldn't help but mutter to myself, "Serves him right!"

"This house is really big!" I exclaimed as I walked around, admiring the sights. I couldn't help but imagine what would happen if I were to become the lady of the house someday. If I went to the bathroom and found there was no toilet paper, wouldn't I have to use the intercom to call Yin Tianyu to get me some? "Crazy!" I was startled by my own imagination and quickly turned my attention back to the "uncle" in front of me.

Even back when I was a salesman, I knew quite a bit about Chairman Yin: Known in the business world as "Yin the Fox," he has astonishingly transformed a medium-sized manufacturing company into its current scale since taking over the family business at the age of twenty-four, earning him the title of a legend among legends in Taiwan's economy. Those who have dealt with him all call him cunning as a fox, yet they also acknowledge that he is a rare individual in the business world who keeps his promises. I've always been curious about how he possesses such contradictory qualities, but I never imagined I'd actually have the opportunity to get so close to him. It just goes to show that as long as you're alive, you have limitless possibilities. Wait, I seem to have gone off-topic again?

"Please come in." Chairman Yin politely invited me into a room at the end of the corridor.

"Actually, I invited you here because I hope you'll agree to break up with Tianyu." Chairman Yin said bluntly before I even sat down. I didn't react for a moment: "What? Break up?"

"Yes." Chairman Yin's expression was indifferent, as if he were just discussing with me the fact that the colors in the house's decor were too heavy.

"Why?" This question is so different from the warm and cozy atmosphere we had before, I feel like my brain is a little oxygen-deprived.

"I think Miss Li knows the reason better than I do, doesn't she?"
