Scheidung ist eine Kleinigkeit - Kapitel 29

Kapitel 29

"The Pavilion Master doesn't trust anyone," Zi Ying replied, seemingly unrelated to the question.

Yun Chan finally stopped talking and just followed her on her way.

However, after silently following Ziying for four days, Yun Chan finally sensed something was wrong. Ziying wasn't going to the Ink Pavilion, nor did she seem to have any destination in mind; she was clearly deliberately going in circles.

Yun Chan was constantly worried about Xia Yi's poison. After enduring until the fifth night, when she entered a dilapidated temple, she finally couldn't help but ask tentatively, "How many more days until we reach your Pavilion Master? Aren't we going to the Ink Pavilion?"

Zi Ying didn't answer, only calmly leading Yun Chan to a corner to rest. Although she hadn't shown any outward emotion these past few days, her anxiety had grown with each passing day. The Soul Devouring Technique on the Pavilion Master couldn't be delayed any longer, but she had already used disguises and other methods, and secretly...

Those people are still impossible to shake off no matter what.

Shouldn't we give them a warning?

Zi Ying glanced at Yun Chan, a sinister glint suddenly flashing in her eyes.

Now that they were at their wits' end, they had no choice but to take a risky gamble. Without warning, Zi Ying suddenly drew her soft sword from her waist and slashed at Yun Chan's right hand.

Yun Chan was shocked. "Sister, I was just asking casually. If you don't want to talk about it, then don't! Are you going to cut off my hand like this?!"

Zi Ying's soft sword moved with the agility of a snake, instantly coiling around Yun Chan as she tried to escape. Then, the blade flipped, relentlessly striking down along Yun Chan's wrist. Seeing her right hand about to be lost, Yun Chan turned pale with fright. Just then, someone who had been hiding in the shadows for a long time...

A man in yellow suddenly appeared behind Zi Ying.

Zi Ying seemed to have been prepared. The soft sword that was originally aimed at Yun Chan was unexpectedly reversed and turned around. The yellow-clad man who was launching the sneak attack was caught off guard and was killed on the spot by a sword that struck his heart meridian.

Unfortunately, there was more than one person following them. In an instant, a man and two women dressed in yellow appeared from the shadows and pounced on Ziying and Yunchan at the same time.

Her heart was repeatedly jolted, and Yun Chan instinctively used her lotus-step technique to dodge the attackers. Fortunately, the three men didn't seem to be after her; they all attacked Zi Ying together. Yun Chan took the opportunity to gradually escape the battle, but accidentally kicked something on the ground.

A body that had just died.

Glancing at the corpse out of the corner of her eye, Yun Chan thought for only a moment before boldly using the hilt of her sword to pry open the man's torn clothes.

A ferocious beast totem tattoo appeared on the corpse's chest. Yun Chan's hand trembled, and she almost dropped her sword.

This person had just appeared behind Zi Ying and launched a sneak attack. Yun Chan initially thought it was someone from Xia Ming Manor or Fei Yun Fort coming to her rescue, but upon closer inspection, she realized that the group's attire and appearance did not belong to any of the righteous sects she knew. She never expected...

He really is a member of the Qingtu Cult!

Remembering that Zi Ying had indeed said that the Qing Tu Sect had also set its sights on the Mo Pavilion, Yun Chan was alarmed and immediately turned her gaze uneasily to the battle.

Zi Ying possessed exceptional martial arts skills, nimbly deflecting the relentless attacks with her soft sword while also launching her own offensives with ease. However, the three attackers were also highly skilled; although they couldn't subdue her immediately, they didn't give her even a chance to escape, clearly intending to kill her.

She was put to death.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to her in the corner, Yun Chan began to hesitate. Should she take this opportunity to escape? But what about Xia Yi's antidote?

"Thud—" Another sound of a sharp blade piercing flesh. Yun Chan looked over in horror and saw that two women in yellow had collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

The remaining man in yellow clearly hadn't expected Zi Ying to be so skilled in martial arts, and immediately became even more ruthless, each move aimed to kill. His skill far surpassed the other three, and Zi Ying, having already killed three, was now at her limit.

They were starting to struggle to keep up.

As expected, they fought for a while longer, and Zi Ying was struck in the chest by a sword. Although she narrowly avoided a fatal blow, she was clearly at her last gasp.

Seeing the situation was dire, Yun Chan immediately turned to run. No way! The antidote could be found later when she returned; staying here would only result in the Qingtu Sect silencing her.

Sensing that Yun Chan was about to flee, Zi Ying's eyes sharpened. She knew that her chances of survival were slim, but she had finally obtained the antidote for the Soul Devouring Potion and hadn't yet given it to the Pavilion Master. How could she accept dying like this!

Distracted for a moment, Zi Ying was stabbed in the shoulder again, and her body, having lost too much blood, immediately lost its balance and fell to the ground.

In her despair, Zi Ying couldn't help but feel hatred. If it weren't for that girl from Feiyun Fortress, the Pavilion Master wouldn't have been afflicted by the Soul Devouring Technique and been on the verge of death.

If I'm going to die, I'll drag you down with me.

Seeing that Zi Ying could no longer hold on, the man in yellow was about to finish her off with a sword when she suddenly exerted her strength and rushed outside.

Seeing the soft sword in her hand pointed directly at Yun Chan's throat, the man in yellow was shocked and quickly reached out to grab her. However, his hasty attack left an opening in his upper body. In a battle between experts, a single misstep can be fatal. Zi Ying's mind raced, and seeing this, she risked everything.

Qi reversed the sword's momentum again, and the soft sword was thrust precisely into the yellow-clad man's heart.

The man in yellow opened his eyes wide, seemingly in disbelief at the outcome, but eventually slowly collapsed to the ground.

Hearing the wind behind her, Yun Chan turned around and was stunned by what she saw.

Zi Ying seemed to be trying to kill her? And the man in yellow seemed to be trying to save her? But aren't they from the Qingtu Cult? She couldn't be sure, and unconsciously took two steps toward the fallen man in yellow.

To everyone's surprise, the man in yellow didn't die. He suddenly grabbed her ankle and tried to climb up. Yun Chan was terrified and immediately tried to break free, but the man in yellow held on tightly. He leaned against Yun Chan and struggled to throw the bamboo tube he was holding towards the window.

It finally stopped moving.

The bamboo tube burst through the window, immediately followed by three loud bangs, and then a blue light spread out in the air.

"Oh no, this is probably a signal from the Qingtu Sect to gather their companions!" Yun Chan thought to herself, "This is bad." She pushed the man in yellow aside and, after confirming that he was truly dead this time, she immediately rushed to the heavily injured Zi Ying and asked urgently, "Where is Xia Yi's antidote!"

Zi Ying barely managed to stay conscious: "It's not on me. Come with me to see the Pavilion Master, and I will give it to you."

"What a joke! Given the current situation, she'll probably be dead before she even sees the henchmen." Yun Chan gritted her teeth, bent down, and prepared to carry Zi Ying on her back.

Zi Ying replied, "It's no use. Their people will be here soon. I'm too badly injured to run far."

Yun Chan's eyes widened: "Then what do we do? Just wait here to die?"

Ziying pointed to the two corpses of women in yellow on the ground and said, "Take off their clothes and put them on."

Yun Chan glanced at the corpse and was immediately jolted awake.

Ziying explained, "Their people are coming soon. I'll disguise myself as them to deal with them."

Time was of the essence, so Yun Chan didn't hesitate for long and obediently nodded and did as instructed.

After quickly changing her clothes, Yun Chan, suppressing her fear, used Zi Ying's corpse-dissolving water to dissolve the two women's corpses, then moved the two men's corpses to the doorway. Zi Ying stopped her own bleeding, then took out various ointments from her person and applied them to her and Yun Chan's faces.

Unfortunately, time was short and the disguise couldn't be done very well, so Ziying had to put some more bloodstains on their faces to cover them up. Anyway, in the darkness, it wouldn't be easy to see.

Just as they finished doing all this, they heard voices approaching from outside the door. Yun Chan immediately tensed up, and Zi Ying whispered, "Don't make a sound later, just pretend you're injured."

Before the words were even finished, the door of the dilapidated temple was violently pushed open, and about six or seven people entered, all dressed in yellow. The middle-aged man at the head of the group entered and, upon seeing the corpses of two men in yellow on the ground, his expression changed drastically. He immediately turned to the two women in yellow in the corner and shouted sharply...

He demanded, "Where are the two women from Moge and Feiyunbao?"

"I was incompetent and they got away," Zi Ying replied in a hoarse voice, covered in blood.

"Useless trash!" The middle-aged man was clearly anxious. He turned to one of the younger men in yellow and said, "You take those two back to face the consequences. The rest of you, come with me to chase after them!"

"Yes!" The group acknowledged the order and quickly turned and disappeared into the night.

The young man who was ordered to stay behind was named Jin Jia. He looked at Zi Ying and Yun Chan, who were covered in blood and seriously injured, and felt a little sorry for them as he thought about their impending punishment back in the sect. He tossed them two pills and said, "Alright, come with me now."

Yun Chan glanced at the pills in her hand. Were these for healing their injuries? She hadn't realized this Qing Tu Sect lad was so kind-hearted. She turned to look at Zi Ying, who was swaying precariously, and quickly tried to hand her the pills to feed her.

Jin Jia snatched the pills back, angrily saying, "I kindly gave you the Heartbreak Powder so you would take it after you saw the leader, to spare you the torment of wishing for death. But you, now you want to commit suicide out of guilt!"

How am I supposed to explain this to my superiors then?!

Yun Chan broke out in a cold sweat. What did this mean? Were these pills meant for them to commit suicide as an atonement?

She was frightened and quickly turned to look at Ziying. Ziying was also somewhat unsettled, but she was seriously injured and determined not to be able to fight the person in front of her. For now, she could only go with him and then try to escape later.

Seeing the fear on their faces, Jin Jia softened his tone and comforted them, "I know you're scared, but every moment you live is precious. Perhaps the sect leader will take pity on you and spare your lives this time. I'll give you the Heartbreak Powder again when we get back to the sect."

If you really can't bear it by then, it's not too late to commit suicide.

Yun Chan listened, tears streaming down her face. Damn it, she shouldn't have listened to Zi Ying's terrible idea to impersonate someone from the Qingtu Cult! She didn't want to go to the Qingtu Cult, she wanted to go home!

---

The men escorting Yun Chan and Zi Ying, though young, were extremely cautious. Perhaps fearing they might commit suicide before even seeing the sect leader, the golden-armored guard not only kept a close watch on them the entire way but also acupunctured several key acupoints on their bodies. As a result, before Zi Ying could devise an escape plan, he…

We have already arrived at Yanshan.

So the Qingtu Sect really was in Yanshan. Yun Chan felt a wave of despair and silently followed the golden-armored man into the underground passage. The passage was winding and full of branching paths, like a giant maze. Only then did Yun Chan realize that the trap she and her henchmen had fallen into that day was merely a part of this maze.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

After walking for about an hour, the three finally arrived at the main hall of the Qingtu Sect.

The underground hall was incredibly large, stretching for dozens of feet from front to back. It was spacious yet dark, with the walls and pillars all carved with animal totems, making Yun Chan's heart pound with fear.

Jin Jia didn't go inside, but instead led them to wait at the entrance of the main hall. At this moment, another emaciated Qingtu sect member arrived at the entrance, also holding a dying person in his arms. It seemed that he had also captured someone to deliver a report.

Yun Chan stole a glance at the dying man. She saw that his collarbone was pierced and chained, as if he had been dragged all the way here. He lay on his back, covered in blood, but Yun Chan could still make out his face.

The face was actually that of Sect Leader Tan of the Yuanqing Sect!

How could Sect Leader Tan have been captured by the Qingtu Sect! Yun Chan's heart was filled with shock, and her body trembled slightly.

On the other side, the emaciated Qingtu sect member was chatting quietly with the golden-armored man.

"Aren't these two girls from the Eagle Group? Weren't they ordered to track down the whereabouts of the Ink Pavilion Master? Why were they brought here?"

Jin Jia said softly, "The Eagle Group lost track of Miss Yun from Flying Cloud Fortress, and they were all killed by that woman from the Ink Pavilion. Only the two of them survived. The commander ordered me to bring them back to receive punishment."

Upon hearing this, the skinny man glanced at Yun Chan and Zi Ying with extreme sympathy: "Lost Miss Yun? Coming back to receive punishment like this is worse than dying on the spot at the hands of the Mo Pavilion."

Hearing this, Yun Chan grew even more frightened. Just as she was wondering whether she should ask Jin Jia for a Heartbreak Powder in case of emergency, she heard the skinny man say, "The sect leader is here. I'll go over first." With that, he grabbed the iron chain, dragged Sect Leader Tan up, and walked into the hall.

Perhaps it's a case of things reaching their extreme and then reversing; once fear reaches a certain point, fear ceases. For some inexplicable reason, Yun Chan boldly peeked out the door to see what the leader of the Qingtu Sect looked like.

The main hall was several dozen feet in front and back. A blurry figure in black, wearing a golden mask, strode into the hall. Yun Chan froze upon seeing him.

The skinny man bowed respectfully to the man in black: "Master, Tan Ying has been captured."

Instead of the expected praise, the black-clad cult leader became extremely impatient: "What's the point of capturing them? Just kill them."

They thought the leader of the Yuanqing Sect was an important figure and might be useful to keep, but they had misunderstood the sect leader's intentions. The skinny man was immediately terrified and nodded obsequiously in agreement. Then he dragged Tan Ying over and tried to execute him on the spot.

As the blade fell, Tan Ying, who had been on the verge of death, suddenly struggled with all her might. The knife, which should have been fatal, struck the iron chain and was deflected. Making one mistake after another, the skinny man was so desperate he wanted to kneel down.

Tan Ying was on his last breath. One of his scarred arms stretched out as if to grab something. His eyes were fixed on the black-clad cult leader before him. "It really is you. That night, I wasn't mistaken. You did indeed use Boundless..."

…”

The rest of his words were stuck in his throat by a sword, and he couldn't say anything more. The man in black withdrew the sword that had pierced Tan Ying's throat, and said with extreme agitation, "Where are the Eagle Group members? Haven't they returned yet?"

The man in golden armor, who had been waiting at the entrance of the main hall, shuddered at the sight. It seemed the leader was in a bad mood; these two girls were incredibly unlucky. He glanced at Yun Chan, who was completely frozen with fear, and silently took out a poison pill, handing it to her: "The leader is calling you."

After the report is finished, just swallow this.

Yun Chan mechanically accepted the medicine, but couldn't hear anything.

There was someone who grew up with her since childhood, and she would still recognize him even if he turned to ashes.

Even if I wear a mask, even if my voice changes.

She could still recognize her.

At this moment, Yun Chan could only stare blankly at him, letting her whole body fall into the ice cave.
