Urbaner Blumentraum - Kapitel 35

Kapitel 35

The young lady did not sit down for the time being, but stood there gracefully with a smile on her face, patiently watching the maids busy themselves.

As Feng Xuese approached the door, she had to pass by her. The young lady was very well-mannered; seeing that she was blocking someone's way, she curtsied apologetically and stepped aside.

Earlier, Zhu Huihui had been picking and choosing among the dishes, throwing away all the ones she didn't like on the ground. Although the waiter had cleaned it up, one lotus seed still slipped through the net. The young lady accidentally stepped on it, slipped, and fell backward.

Such a dignified and noble young lady, it would be so beautiful if she fell flat on her face...

The maids rushed over in alarm to help, only to see the young master, who had already walked past, suddenly turn back, extend his arm, and support his mistress's back in mid-air, gently helping her up: "Be careful!"

The young lady, still shaken, blushed slightly and curtsied, saying, "Thank you, young master!"

Although Feng Xuese was free-spirited, he had been traveling the world for many years and always observed proper etiquette in front of women. He smiled and returned the greeting, saying, "Miss, you're too kind!" He nodded slightly and walked out of the shop.

As they passed by the old man in blue robes who had just finished tidying up the carriage, the old man in blue robes immediately stopped and looked over with a pair of sharp eyes.

Feng Xuese pretended not to notice and walked straight towards the official road, with Zhu Huihui following behind, constantly chuckling slyly.

Feng Xuese felt a chill run down her spine from his laughter, abruptly stopped, and said coldly, "What are you laughing at?"

Zhu Huihui wanted to put on a serious face, but his wicked thoughts just wouldn't let him stay silent: "Hero, it's not that I like to criticize you, but if you want to seduce a young lady, you have to say a few more words. At least you should say 'May I ask your name, young lady,' and then introduce yourself, 'I am twenty-two years old this year, I own a hundred acres of fertile land, and I am still unmarried...'"

Feng Xuese frowned: "What are you talking about?"

Zhu Huihui nudged him with his shoulder as if they were old friends, and said with a sly smile, "Great hero, don't pretend. I... I've seen countless plays in my life, and I knew that your actions just now were a prelude to adultery in the play!"

"..."

This guy is really a scoundrel! Feng Xuese lightly slashed his dark neck with her sheathed sword: "No more nonsense!"

Zhu Huihui shrank his neck, looking sullen: "Great hero, I know it's easier for you to chop my head than to chop ribs, so please stop reminding me!"

Feng Xuese took a few steps toward the official road towards Chenzhou and said coldly, "Are you that afraid of having your head chopped off?"

Zhu Huihui said, "This...it seems like everyone's afraid, right? Aren't you afraid?" Strange, does that mean the old man's head can be reattached after being cut off? Or can a new head grow from his neck?

He couldn't help but say, "My mother says I'm tough and resilient, that I won't die no matter what I do. As long as someone doesn't 'crack' my head off, even if my stomach is torn, I can just patch it up and keep using it. Great hero, is your head also very resilient, able to be reattached if it breaks off, and grow back if it falls off?"

What utter nonsense is this! Feng Xuese once again felt the helplessness of talking to a brick wall.

He looked at Zhu Huihui suspiciously: "Are you really stupid or just pretending?"

If you call him stupid, he's more cunning than anyone else when it comes to petty theft, backstabbing, and cowardice; but if you call him smart, he's not only uneducated and illiterate, but he also can't understand what normal people are saying!

"I'm not stupid! My mother always says that although my father is a pig, a blind pig who's stupid to death, I'm smarter than anyone else!" The two got onto the official road, and Zhu Huihui looked at the straight and wide road in front of him and asked, "Great hero, how far is Shenzhou that you mentioned?"

"It's Chenzhou!" He arrived just as I was saying that he was speaking in a white tongue. "It's about fifty li away."

"It's so far!" Zhu Huihui complained incessantly, "Fifty li, my feet are going to rot from walking!"

Feng Xuese looked down and saw that he was still wearing the same tattered cloth shoes he had first met, only now they were even more worn out, with his ten dirty toes sticking out. Looking up, perhaps because he was always begging for mercy on the ground, his trousers had a large hole in them, revealing his dark knees. His shirt was already almost ripped, and now it had several more large tears. His hair was just tied up in a messy bun. As for his face and hands, well, let's not even talk about them. I bet no one in the world has ever seen what he originally looked like.

Sigh! He wasn't really human to begin with, and after days of running around and escaping several times, this guy is now completely inhuman!

Feng Xuese sighed deeply, somewhat blaming herself for her negligence.

"Let's go." He took the lead and walked forward.

Zhu Huihui followed behind with a long face, remaining silent.

Before he had taken more than a few steps, he suddenly heard someone behind him call out, "Young master, please wait!"

The two recognized the voice and turned around to see the maid in pink chasing after them.

The maidservant moved with incredible speed, arriving before the two men in the blink of an eye. She bowed and said, "Young master, please wait a moment!"

Feng Xuese was somewhat surprised and asked, "What advice do you have for me, young lady?"

"My young lady instructed me to tell you, young master, that although the injury to your Ren and Du meridians seems to be fine, there are still hidden problems. If they are not treated thoroughly, they will eventually harm your health."

Feng Xuese was taken aback. He had been struck in the chest and back by the Twelve Zodiac Envoys, which were precisely the Ren and Du meridians. After he had used his internal energy to heal himself, he was already 80% healed. How did that young lady know about the remaining 20%?

The pretty maid in pink smiled and said, "This is a medicinal herb gifted by my young lady. It is very effective in promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. If you don't mind, please accept it!" With that, she handed over a small jade bottle.

Since they were complete strangers, Feng Xuese hadn't even decided whether to accept the gift when Zhu Huihui snatched it away, saying, "I'll keep it for you, hero!"

The maid in pink was taken aback, and looked at Zhu Huihui with disgust. She wanted to say something, but finally held back.

Since Zhu Huihui had already accepted it, it would seem petty to return it, so Feng Xuese could only say, "In that case, thank you, Miss!"

Actually, accepting medicine from a stranger was very inappropriate, but he was of noble character, selfless, and easygoing, so he didn't think much of it.

The maid in pink bowed again, then turned and went back.

Zhu Huihui examined the small bottle from left to right, wondering if it was as valuable as the snake envoy's. He figured he could always make a profit from something he lost on one side of the dike, and somehow it would all end up in his pocket…

He casually opened the bottle cap, and a pungent odor rushed to his head. He sneezed twice in a row, muttering, "Dragon brain, Qilin blood, water candle, ram's horn..."

Feng Xuese glanced at Zhu Huihui in surprise. He was quite knowledgeable in various fields and had some understanding of medicine. He recognized the strange names "Ruilongnao," "Qilinxue," "Shuiluzhu," and "Yangjiaoqi"—they were all alternative names for borneol, dragon's blood, styrax, and bletilla. These herbs all had the effects of reducing swelling, tonifying the body, and promoting blood circulation.

This guy can actually identify most of the medicinal ingredients just by smelling them... Is he really as ignorant as I thought? But why does he insist on using such an obscure name from ancient books instead of his usual name?

If anyone else had spoken like this, Feng Xuese would have thought it was some pedantic scholar trying to appear cultured, deliberately using archaic and uncommon terms to show off his extensive reading and erudition. But since it was Zhu Huihui, he could only conclude that this guy simply didn't know the common names for these things!

In other words, Zhu Huihui recognizes this thing and knows what it's used for, but he can't communicate with others because the name he knows doesn't match the name others know. Is this where that feeling of talking to a brick wall comes from?
