Chapter 31

housekeeper:"……"

The man in the black robe was indeed too thin, looking like a bamboo pole, with a robe hanging on top of him. Couldn't he be raised like a flag if the wind blew by?

The butler sighed at Levi's sharp tongue, but then saw the black-robed man sitting opposite him not to be outdone, and said, "No, it's because you can't see the hairstyle of the person opposite you when you look down."

housekeeper:"……"

Levi, with his frizzy hair: "..."

The atmosphere was so tense it felt like a fight could break out at any moment.

What preparations should be made at this time?

The housekeeper was very nervous.

Levi stared as Qin Chu ran his hand through his hair a couple of times, then rummaged through his clothes with his other hand, as if he were pulling out a weapon.

Qin Chu glanced at it twice, then said with a cool sarcasm, "What? Do you have a switch on you that lets your hair retract with a press?"

"That function isn't available yet, but what you said makes a lot of sense." As he spoke, Levi pulled out a hair tie from somewhere, fiddled with it a couple of times, and tied it into a small bun at the back of his head.

After finishing the treatment, she took out a small mirror to check her appearance, then gestured with her chin towards Qin Chu: "How is it now?"

Qin Chu was extremely cold and ruthless: "Even uglier."

Butler: "..." Why did I suddenly stop being so nervous?

Levi stroked his chin thoughtfully: "Really? Then how about I get two?"

This guy was ready to fight at the drop of a hat, so Qin Chu, afraid of seeing something offensive, got down to business.

This is the second world that Qin Chu experienced, and he is not entirely unaware of what happened in the first world.

Before entering the next world, his consciousness was hosted in Noah's space, where the flow of time was different from that of the outside world or the virtual world of the internet. Noah adjusted the flow to counteract the flow of time.

Noah was reviewing the previous world: "In the previous world, which I recorded as the College Entrance Examination World, the data accuracy decreased by five percent after you left. However, within this five percent error, we detected three human consciousnesses that broke free from the system's control and entered a period of heightened consciousness before awakening."

Hearing this, Qin Chu felt slightly relieved.

It seems that although Noah's calculated mission route was unreliable, it was still useful nonetheless.

But then Noah said, "It's a pity, this isn't the best state. If it were the best state, the density would probably drop by two or three points. Also, your character profile has gone off track to some extent, especially the fact that you actually gave up the college entrance exam at the end. This completely contradicts the setting of a top student in the data body. Fortunately, you left the world quickly enough and didn't attract the attention of the main brain."

Qin Chu completely ignored the second half of the sentence and asked instead, "What happened? All three mission lines are 100% complete, so why isn't it at its best?"

Hearing this, Noah hesitated for a long time before saying, rather embarrassed, "Because the progress bar of one of the tasks dropped later."

Qin Chu: "..."

The progress bar went backwards midway through the mission, which he couldn't understand, but he could tolerate.

It's already at 100% and it can still drop? This isn't a task bar, it's a health bar!

Just as Qin Chu was about to give Noah a piece of his mind, he suddenly remembered something and asked, "Whose questline is being degraded?"

“Who else could it be… Of course it’s Zhao Yuan.” Noah was also indignant. “Before we completely broke off, I scanned him and found that Zhao Yuan hadn’t come back after leaving the exam room after finishing the first exam.”

Qin Chu: "..." He wasn't surprised at all.

I was careless. How could that kid possibly listen obediently? If I hadn't gone to get Zhao Yuan's exam admission ticket, he would probably have missed one exam by following the normal procedure.

Now that he's fought tooth and nail to get the stuff back, the kid is only going to take one exam.

Qin Chu was furious, but it was too late to say anything now. He simply rejected Noah's suggestion to rest and decided to enter the next small world directly. Otherwise, he was afraid he wouldn't be able to resist going back in time and beating Zhao Yuan up before leaving.

Just before crossing over, Noah connected with the outside world and received a very important message.

"Sir, the Cabinet has provided further information about His Highness the Crown Prince. Although there are still no images, there is one point that I think is worth noting."

Noah sent the data sheet to Qin Chu's mind, and the mental strength section was circled in red.

Unlike the others, this section in the prince's file does not show an exact number; it only displays a symbol.

Qin Chu was familiar with this symbol, as several similar symbols had appeared on his medical examination data over the years. This indicated that the measurement result had exceeded the upper limit of the instrument's measurement range and could not be accurately predicted.

When Qin Chu saw this data sheet, what attracted his attention more was not the value itself, but the measurement period and the instrument used.

Much of the data on this table was measured a very long time ago, all thirty-five years ago, which is highly unusual. An imperial citizen with a normal identification number undergoes the same measurements annually and uploads them to the system.

The data provided by the cabinet this time is so old that either the subsequent data has been completely lost, or this is the most recent measurement of the crown prince's physical condition.

The former is somewhat incomprehensible to the Empire's meticulous data system. As for the latter... Qin Chu has generally only seen one type of person: fugitives who have violated Imperial laws for various reasons and therefore have to live in hiding.

Qin Chu was already very unhappy with this mission. In order to save a crown prince who appeared out of nowhere, he transferred him back from the front line that was in urgent need of guarding.

Now, he has to tell him that the prince he's trying to save might have been an interstellar fugitive.

“Sir, you can use this as an operation to capture an important fugitive,” Noah advised.

Qin Chu chuckled and immediately instructed Noah to activate the teleportation.

Finding a person in tens of thousands of tiny worlds is undoubtedly like finding a needle in a haystack.

Before the mission began, Noah gave Qin Chu many reminders. The mainframe's database was extremely rich, covering all historical data of humanity from ancient Earth to the interstellar era, so he would encounter all sorts of situations during his journey.

Qin Chu had prepared himself mentally for all sorts of things, but he was still momentarily stunned when he opened his eyes.

He was locked in a dark, cramped space. The space was narrow and flat, and Qin Chu could only lie flat inside; even curling up or sitting up was extremely difficult.

However, for some reason, the air circulation seemed to be quite good. In such a closed space, apart from the visual obstruction, Qin Chu did not feel any stuffiness.

He reached out and groped around, trying to find an exit by following any possible air vents, but after searching the area within his reach, he couldn't find any holes for ventilation.

While exploring, Qin Chu touched the clothes he was wearing.

This is an extremely elaborate and gorgeous dress, with at least four or five layers inside and out, as well as various exquisite accessories.

While Qin Chu was exploring his surroundings, Noah comforted him, saying, "Sir, don't worry, you're in a coffin right now."

Qin Chu: "???"

What the hell is there to worry about?

Chapter 27, Second Story (2)

After confirming that no one was guarding the coffin, Qin Chu kicked over the coffin lid and jumped out.

To his surprise, although the coffin lid was very thick and made of stone, the corners were not sealed shut. Qin Chu kicked it a little too hard, and the coffin lid flew to the side, landing on the floor with a dull thud.

This is a very eerie room. The decor is very retro, and you can see traces of stone brickwork on the walls. The entire room is as dark as the inside of a coffin. Although there is a large floor-to-ceiling window on one wall, it is now completely covered by heavy curtains, so not a single ray of light can get in.

Only at the junction of the curtains could a few slivers of light filter in, indicating that it must be a bright and sunny day outside.

What's even stranger is the room's layout.

It wasn't a funeral parlor in the conventional sense; the room was decorated more like an exquisite bedroom, with a huge, ornately decorated mirror opposite it.

However, the most important thing in the bedroom was replaced by something else.

In the center of the room, where the bed should have been, lay the coffin from which Qin Chu had just jumped out.

Qin Chu looked down at his clothes again.

The dress was a dark red vintage style, with a pure black Krabbat scarf and a bow tie adorned with a dazzling ruby. Layers of lace peeked out from the cuffs of the sleeves.

General Qin was always a tough, iron-willed man, and he had never seen lace on himself before. He subconsciously frowned and tried to pull it off, but couldn't.

What Qin Chu couldn't understand even more was that, even though the man was lying in a coffin, this guy still had a bright red rose pinned to his chest.

Is this for hooking up on the way to the underworld?

Given how absurdly the room's layout was, Qin Chu couldn't resist walking back to the coffin for a closer look. He then realized that the coffin he had just jumped out of was in no way inferior to his own attire.

The bottom of the coffin was covered with a layer of red velvet, and on the coffin board that he had kicked aside, a blooming rose was also carved.

Qin Chu remained silent for a long time.

Carving roses on a coffin lid, how damn flashy is that?

Before Qin Chu could examine the room more closely, there was a sudden knock on the closed door.

"Dudu", "Dudu".

Qin Chu stood to the side, staring at the heavy double door, and took a deep breath.

He glanced at the coffin lid lying next to him and hesitated for a moment.

This scene doesn't seem to be good for a normal person's mental health. Should he lie back down first?

After glancing at the coffin again, Qin Chu dismissed the idea.

Since the corpses were already blown up, a little more wouldn't make a difference, so he simply walked over and opened the door.

With a click, the door opened.

Three men dressed as waiters stood outside the door. The one in the lead was wearing a black tailcoat and white gloves, looking very much like a butler from some period of ancient Earth.

The three people outside were stunned when they saw the door open and a person who should have been lying in a coffin standing behind it.

Qin Chu expected a deafening scream to follow.

He was racking his brains for excuses when he noticed that the leader, instead of screaming, was looking at him with concern.

"Your Highness, are you having trouble sleeping again?"

With a "bang," Qin Chu slammed the door shut again.

Would a normal person's first reaction to seeing a zombie come back to life be, "Dude, why are you having insomnia?"

Noah, who had been feigning death for a while, sighed softly, "Because they're not normal people..."

Qin Chu: "..."

This flamboyant style, the room that couldn't be exposed to light... reminded him of a very annoying humanoid creature.

As the empire has developed to its current state, it has accepted many humanoid races. As the chief of the imperial military, Qin Chu treats most humanoid races equally, with one exception.

General Qin was extremely unwilling to accept this outcome and tried to deceive himself: "Noah, even vampires don't sleep in coffins."

Noah sighed again: "Those were fully modernized vampires from the Imperial era."

Once you reach a certain age, who doesn't know that a bed is more comfortable than a coffin?

General Qin struggled again: "I don't want to drink blood at all right now."
