Luzhou Moon - Chapter 86

Chapter 86

"I don't know what's wrong, sister. I remember how good she was to me. She said she would always be with me!" Lian Junchu struggled to sit up, staring at her severed arm, her voice trembling. "Why can't I keep her?! Were all those words she said false?! But I really love her, sister!"

"What's the use of that?!" Lian Junqiu stroked his cold cheek, leaned closer, and looked directly at him. "Is it worth punishing yourself like this for a woman who betrayed you?"

Another huge wave crashed against them, and Lian Junchu was so overwhelmed by the force that she could barely sit up. She held him tightly.

"Come back with me!" Her hair had come loose, and she looked very haggard.

He stubbornly shook his head.

"Are you trying to kill yourself?" Lian Junqiu wrapped her arms around his neck, gazing into his eyes with a melancholic smile. "You've become like this because of her? Fine, since you don't want to leave, I'll go with you."

After saying that, Lian Junqiu stood in the water that was half a person deep, held his face with one hand and wrapped her arms around his waist with the other, closed her eyes, and kissed his lips.

"Big sister! You..." Lian Junchu began to speak in a panic, but she cut him off. He tried to break free, but she held him tightly, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get away.

Lian Junqiu kissed him almost obsessively, whispering in his ear, "Junchu, Junchu... do you know... how heartbroken I was watching you and her sit on this beach every night looking at the moon..."

Lian Junchu desperately turned his face to the side, panting, "Big sister, are you crazy! I'm your brother!"

"I don't want to just be your sister." She held his neck, pressed her cheek against his, and whispered, "I know Father won't allow you to marry me... But Junchu, as long as you don't say anything, I'm willing to stay with you for the rest of my life. I won't marry anyone else, understand?"

"You'll always be my older sister!" Lian Junchu shook her head vigorously and raised her knees to block her.

Just then, a sharp shout suddenly came from behind Gao Yan.

"What are you doing?!"

Startled by the angry rebuke, Lian Junqiu loosened her grip, and Lian Junchu struggled backward, falling into the sea.

Before she could rush over to help Lian Junchu up, someone strode over from Gao Yan's side.

"Father..." She stood frozen in the waves, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Lian Haichao, his face full of anger, strode over as fast as lightning. As soon as he reached Lian Junqiu, he struck her with a palm.

"Shameless!" Lian Haichao, who was usually cold and terrifying, unexpectedly flew into a rage. The force of his palm strike was so great that it knocked Lian Junqiu to the ground. She fell into the seawater, covering her bleeding lips.

"Big sister..." Lian Junchu struggled to kneel and crawl to her side. Just as she was about to bend down to look at her, Lian Haichao raised her leg and blocked the two of them.

"Jun Chu, you go back first." Lian Haichao suppressed his anger and said coldly to Lian Jun Chu.

Lian Junchu stared blankly at him, his face appearing especially cold in the darkness.

"Don't blame your elder sister." Lian Junchu straightened up and knelt down in front of Lian Junqiu.

Lian Haichao glared at him, at which point Lian Junqiu propped herself up, leaned on his shoulder, and said to him in the same way, "You go back first."

But he didn't move, staring directly at Lian Haichao, and raised his voice: "Don't blame eldest sister!"

Lian Haichao took a step closer, staring at him, and said, "Junchu, you're finally willing to speak now? You practically died for one woman, and now you're going to stand up against me for another?"

"She's just my sister!" Lian Junchu shouted, her face pale.

"That's why what she just did is morally unacceptable!" Lian Haichao took another step closer and grabbed his shoulder. The waves crashed over him, but he remained steady, secretly gathering his strength to push Lian Junchu away.

Lian Junchu's shoulders were pressed down hard, causing his bones to ache, but he gritted his teeth and straightened his upper body even more.

"Don't do this!" Lian Junqiu hugged Lian Junchu's waist, saying sadly, "Go back! Don't go against Father!"

Lian Junchu raised her face, glancing sideways at Lian Haichao with disdain in her eyes.

Although Lian Haichao hadn't used his full strength, seeing that the father and son were locked in a stalemate again, Lian Junqiu couldn't help but release his grip, kneeling before Lian Haichao and pleading, "Father, please stop! Junchu can't take it anymore!"

"Since he's going to stand up for you, he has to take responsibility! Otherwise, wouldn't he be a useless piece of trash?!" Lian Haichao snorted coldly, his hand still on Lian Junchu's shoulder.

With tears in her eyes, Lian Junqiu cried out, "Did he want to be a cripple? His arm was cut off because of you!"

Lian Haichao's hand trembled slightly, a fierce look suddenly appeared between his brows, and he abruptly flicked his sleeve, stirring up a gust of wind that swept straight towards Lian Junqiu, who was arguing back.

Lian Junqiu only had time to raise her arm to block before her wrist was struck by the immense internal force. With a "crack," her wrist bone broke, and she collapsed at Lian Haichao's feet in pain.

"Sister!" Lian Junchu exclaimed in surprise, raising her eyes to glare angrily at Lian Haichao.

Lian Haichao took a step back, panting, "Junqiu, you know what I least want to hear!"

Lian Junqiu frowned, gasped for breath, and struggled to say, "That's just how it is!"

Lian Haichao's face twitched. He slowly raised his hand, his beard and hair fluttering, and looked at Lian Junqiu, saying, "Are you deliberately trying to turn against me?"

"Don't touch her." Lian Junchu suddenly stood up unsteadily, her clothes still dripping wet, but her posture was straight.

A cold glint flashed in Lian Haichao's eyes. Without even glancing at him, he took another step toward Lian Junqiu.

"I told you not to touch her!" came Lian Junchu's almost frantic voice from behind.

Lian Junqiu fell to the ground, and just as Lian Haichao raised his hand to strike her, Lian Junchu, who was standing behind her, pounced like a wolf, leaping into the air and using all her strength to crash into Lian Haichao's shoulder.

Lian Haichao, however, seemed to have been prepared. He suddenly dodged to the side and simultaneously struck Lian Junchu's shoulder with his palm. Lian Junchu couldn't stop his momentum and was hit by the palm, his body flying more than ten feet away. But before he could regain his footing, he had already rushed back and straightened his right leg to kick Lian Haichao's wrist hard.

Lian Junqiu watched the two of them fight in the waves. Although Lian Junchu was fighting desperately, he had no hands and could not force Lian Haichao back. Lian Haichao seemed to be deliberately targeting his weakness. His attacks were not fierce, but his movements were extremely fast, so fast that Lian Junchu could hardly keep up with him.

A giant wave crashed onto Lian Junchu's back, pushing him forward a few steps. Lian Haichao flipped his palm, his move as swift as the wind, carrying seawater that resembled a hidden weapon, straight towards Lian Junchu.

Lian Junchu leaped into the air, kicking straight at Lian Haichao's palm. Upon impact, he felt as if his ankle was being torn apart, but he gritted his teeth and spun around, kicking repeatedly with his left foot. Lian Haichao spread his arms, his robe sleeves whistling through the air, and looked about to strike Lian Junchu's left foot.

Just then, Lian Junqiu, who had been lying on the beach, suddenly sprang to her feet and unleashed a powerful palm strike. Lian Haichao, hearing the sound, leaped back and dodged the attack from behind. But Lian Junqiu, enduring the pain, then delivered a powerful kick that struck Lian Haichao squarely in the chest.

Suddenly, a dark figure fell from mid-air. Lian Haichao flipped over and stood up, his body swaying slightly. Lian Junchu, whose ankle had been hit earlier, couldn't even stand up straight after landing and fell onto the beach.
