Amor a través del tiempo - Capítulo 8
Old Man Yin was still not at ease, so he ordered more guards to be stationed outside the two's room, fearing that if Bei Chentian and Lei Ran left, he would have trouble explaining it to them.
At midnight, the room was still brightly lit. Three guards went to check the room, but upon entering, they found no one inside. Two of them were about to shout for help when suddenly, a third guard slapped them both on the back, causing them to collapse like rag dolls. The man in the middle was handsome, but his eyes revealed a sinister and ruthless glint, his venomous gaze sweeping across every corner of the room.
"Slap! Slap!" Before he could finish reading, a person jumped down from the roof and landed at the door. The handsome man with a smile and a touch of domineering air in his brows was none other than Bei Chentian.
"I knew you were worried about those old fogies in Red Leaf Valley, and sure enough, you came."
Lin Feng lay sprawled on the roof beam, propping her head up with one hand. She was too lazy to get involved in this mess and leisurely observed the two men with a cold eye. One was treacherous and cunning, while the other was wise and arrogant. They were completely different types of men, yet they shared the same kingly aura.
“I knew you wouldn’t stay here quietly. My troops are almost here!” This man must be Lei Ran. He sneered sarcastically, “Everyone says that you, Bei Chen Tian, are a genius in warfare, but your soldiers are nothing special.”
"Who will win or lose is still unknown. Do you think I'm really that stupid?" Bei Chentian didn't want to waste any more words with him and had already casually struck out with a palm. The rumored useless Crown Prince Lei Ran was actually a martial arts master. Wherever his palm swept, tables and chairs shattered. He was not at a disadvantage when fighting with Bei Chentian.
The main text is incomplete and lacks context. It appears to be a fragment of a larger text.
After a moment's thought, Lin Feng immediately cursed in his heart that the two men were truly treacherous and insidious. They both had their eyes on the Red Leaf Valley, yet they pretended to know nothing, keeping the entire Yin family in the dark.
Whoever wins this place will naturally occupy a vital location, making it easier to attack other countries in the future. Neither of the two men revealed their intentions, taking advantage of the Red Leaf Valley Master's reluctance to get involved in the conflict, and both entered the place together. With a coordinated attack from both sides, Red Leaf Valley would surely fall. Which side it would fall into would depend on the strength of their respective armies.
Below, Bei Chentian and Lei Ran were locked in a fierce battle, but neither was in a hurry to determine a winner, presumably waiting for their own men to ascend the mountain.
Lin Feng's eyes darted around, and she began to understand Bei Chentian's intentions. With his skills, even if he couldn't win for the time being, escaping wouldn't be difficult. Good! This man really knows how to use people. How could he be so sure that she would help him? But thinking about it, perhaps it was precisely because he understood her, knowing that although Lin Feng didn't like to cause trouble, she wouldn't let a grudge go unpunished.
Who told the Valley Master of Red Leaf Valley to plot against her, and Lei Ran to try to kill her? Then she can't be blamed! Lin Feng smiled slightly, thinking to himself that he would definitely make Bei Chen Tian repay this favor in the future.
She quietly jumped down from the beam and climbed out of the window.
Lei Ran had already secretly eliminated the guards outside. She slipped away to the front hall of Red Leaf Valley and found several members of the Yin family discussing countermeasures. They were unaware that troops were coming to attack and were only discussing how to deal with Bei Chentian.
These people are quite shrewd. The surrounding area is heavily guarded; if they were to attack directly, several of the Yin family's generals would likely escape, causing trouble for Bei Chentian later. No wonder he had to take matters into his own hands. Lin Feng understood Bei Chentian's general idea: to lure these veteran Yin family generals away from here, making it easier for him to capture people and attack the mountain.
As a servant passed by and brought in tea, Lin Feng swiftly drew his Heavenly Desolation Blade, covered the servant's mouth, dragged him aside, and cleanly and efficiently killed him. Then, he quickly changed his clothes and went in to serve tea.
When Bei Chentian introduced these Yin family generals, he mentioned that their martial arts skills were not very high, but Lin Feng did not dare to risk killing them directly. Instead, he used words to lure one of them out: "Grandpa, when I was serving tea, I suddenly heard a sound from His Highness's side. I wonder if something went wrong? Did anyone report it?"
The Yin family members were already like frightened birds, and were immediately surprised upon hearing this.
The third son stood up and said, "Grandpa, don't panic. Let me go and see."
He got up and went out. Lin Feng packed his things and quietly followed behind him. He walked in a hurry and didn't even look at the servant who kept his head down.
Lin Feng cleverly exploited people's psychology; at this moment, Yin Laosan's guard was practically nonexistent.
Upon opening the courtyard gate, he was met with a courtyard full of corpses! Yin Laosan had just opened his mouth when a sharp pain suddenly shot through his back. Turning around, he was shocked to see a pair of cold, gleaming eyes—it was that woman! He struggled to say something, but he could no longer utter a sound. What a terrifying woman! This was his only thought before he died.
Lin Feng drew his knife, wiped away the blood, and quietly lay in wait in the darkness.
The room was eerily quiet. Lei Ran and Bei Chentian were no longer there. A short while later, the old man of the Yin family arrived with his sons and grandsons.
"Grandpa! This is..."
Old Man Yin understood somewhat; after all, he was a capable general, and he immediately became alert: "It's over! It must be Bei Chentian leading his men up the mountain!"
"How could that be? Red Leaf Valley is full of traps and mechanisms; there's no way anyone could get into the valley!" The grandsons still didn't believe it.
"They got in the same way you brought me in."
Suddenly, a large group of people rushed into the courtyard and surrounded them, trapping them like turtles in a jar. The leader was none other than the white-robed young master that Lin Feng had met at Changpan Palace! Bei Chentian's arrogant voice rang out, followed by a handsome man in red stepping in, a victorious smile on his lips, showing no sign of drunkenness. Lei Ran, however, was nowhere to be found.
Before Old Man Yin knew what was going on, he had already been caught red-handed by Beichen Tian's men. Only then did he realize that this War God of Beichen was not just a name without substance.
At this moment, Lin Feng also emerged from the shadows. Those around him were surprised to see her. When did His Highness bring a foreign woman with him? Wasn't he afraid it might be a trap set by Lei Ran?
Ignoring their questions, Lin Feng walked straight to Bei Chentian and asked, "Where are your other subordinates?"
"I went after Lei Ran," Bei Chentian replied with a smile, seemingly feeling much better upon seeing Lin Feng.
The white-robed young master and several others who were close to Bei Chentian frowned. This was quite different from the war god they knew. Bei Chentian had never given women who got close to him a good look. Why had he suddenly changed his attitude today? Just two days ago, he was ready to kill Lan Feng, but today his attitude was surprisingly good.
The sounds of battle were already deafening down the mountain. Lin Feng witnessed the fierce fighting firsthand. The shouts, the fighting, the drumming, and the clanging of weapons created a deafening roar, like a flash flood.
Meanwhile, those in power stood there leisurely watching, their expressions unchanged. Either they were numb from fighting, or like her, they didn't care about human lives at all; to them, human lives were just a number.
"What's the point of chasing him? Do you even think you can win him over? He's not someone you can mess with."
Bei Chentian narrowed his eyes and smiled, "Then tell me, how much do you actually know? Speaking of which, you also deserve some credit for this battle. If you hadn't lured them here, I wouldn't have been able to make my move. I'll have to reward you handsomely later. These people are going to die anyway, so why not let them die knowing why?"
The Yin family members were filled with regret upon hearing this. They knew they shouldn't have brought Bei Chentian up the mountain. However, the details were completely unclear to them; they didn't even know why Bei Chentian had suddenly attacked Red Leaf Valley.
Lin Feng gave him a cold look, knowing that he was determined to make her show off today, and his purpose was obvious—to establish his authority and avoid being looked down upon by these people in the future.
Lin Feng sighed: "I never said I would help you."
Bei Chentian was slightly surprised: "You even thought of this? You're really smart. I'm becoming more and more eager to have you."
"I, Lin Feng, have always believed in the saying, 'Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together.'"
How do you know?
"I'm not interested in fame and fortune, but you, clearly, want to conquer the world, don't you?" Lin Feng thought to himself that this man was formidable, having already grasped the hidden meaning in his mind.
Bei Chentian looked at her with interest: "I remember you said that your purpose was to survive?" Lin Feng nodded to indicate that he was sure.
"Then let me ask you, a woman like you, in this chaotic world, do you think it's easy to survive? Even if you don't rely on me, you'll have to rely on other powerful forces. Your appearance will first make you a target for those greedy and lustful people. You might be able to handle ordinary rich men and thugs, but what will you do when you encounter high-ranking officials and powerful figures?" Bei Chentian paused, his eyes becoming serious: "Don't you know that in Yin Sang, power equals everything? Royal power is supreme, do you understand?"
"This..." Lin Feng thought about it and realized it was true. This wasn't Earth, where she could mobilize all available resources to help her. Now, she was in a foreign land, and she had to rely on herself for everything. As Bei Chentian said, royal power was paramount. If she didn't follow him, with her abilities, she would eventually side with another force, and then wouldn't Bei Chentian become her enemy?
