Chapitre 5

The girl's unique blend of sweetness and aloofness left a long, lingering memory in his heart. He could almost still feel the silky smoothness of her skin in his hands, and whether his eyes were open or closed, he seemed to always see her face, yet he could never quite make out her features…

In order to find out the truth, he asked the counter staff for information about the girl.

The hotel staff confirmed that a girl had indeed helped him back to rest last night.

"What's her name? Where is she from?" He asked repeatedly, both surprised and delighted.

"I'm sorry, this is a matter of customer privacy and I cannot comment," the counter staff politely declined to answer.

"Where did she go?"

"That lady checked out and settled all her bills early this morning." This seemed to be the maximum answer the front desk staff could give.

"check out?"

She's gone?

Suddenly, it felt as if a gaping hole had opened up in his heart, and a strange emotion slowly began to flow out...

Over the next few days, Zhang Boxuan traversed Sydney, lingering particularly in parks, harbors, and embankment walkways. He often sat in outdoor cafes, his heart frequently skipping a beat at the sight of a passing Asian girl, watching her retreating figure until she disappeared from sight.

The original itinerary, which included riding horses across the vast fields of the farm, touching the soft fur of sheep, smelling the aroma of milk, and milking and tasting the wonderful flavor of fresh sheep milk... no longer appealed to him.

After several days of being distraught, he finally admitted that he was indeed waiting for her to reappear!

He hoped that she would reappear before him unexpectedly, like a forest sprite.

However, she never reappeared.

Until the day he was to leave Sydney, the strongest sense of loneliness he had ever felt overwhelmed his heart. He knew that she had left an indelible mark on his heart...

Goodbye, Sydney!

Afterwards, Shan'er became pregnant as she wished, and nine months later, she gave birth to a baby boy named Jin Xuande.

At the age of twenty, she took over the Jin Corporation, becoming the youngest female president in Taiwan. She quickly became one of the most talked-about figures on the streets. With her indomitable spirit, intelligence, and excellent acumen, Jin Corporation's revenue skyrocketed in less than a year, successfully winning over the hearts of her employees.

At the age of twenty-two, with the help of Dr. Anli, she successfully gave birth to a baby girl, named Jin Xuanling.

As for why all the children's names have the character "轩" in them, that's an intriguing question.

To outsiders, Kim Sun-ah's private life is quite private and low-key, but she never shies away from talking about being a mother of two. Whenever outsiders ask about the children's father, she calmly replies that the children do not have a father.

This fueled even more rumors about her having children out of wedlock, with gossips even suggesting she was promiscuous and had children with different men out of wedlock. However, Kim Sun-ah maintained her consistently mysterious and low-key attitude, never refuting any rumors or being affected by any slander. She was simply herself, ignoring the gossip of others, living her own life—a truly unique woman!

Meanwhile, Zhang Boxuan graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School and, upon returning to China, smoothly took over the Zhang family's Changyuan Hospital, becoming a highly sought-after eligible bachelor. On the other hand, Zhang's parents also began to pay attention to their son's marriage prospects. With his career progressing smoothly, their expectations for him to settle down grew stronger.

That reckless night was now fading from his memory, growing ever more distant...

He had no idea he had a son and a daughter, Jin Xuande, who was six years old, and Jin Xuanling, who was two years old...

Jin Residence.

This is a detached villa in the style of a European garden house, with spacious rooms and good natural light. The first floor is the hall, the second floor is Shan'er's room, the third floor is the room for the nanny Siwa and the two children, and the top floor has a playroom, a rooftop garden and a study, which is also where Shan'er and the children spend the most time.

Jin Xuande loves staying on the top floor the most. For him, who loves sports, Shan'er bought a children's basketball hoop so that he can play basketball as he pleases.

Busy Shan'er, despite having to bring her work home every day, still tries her best to spend time with her two children. Fortunately, they are both well-behaved and don't make a fuss. With Siwa's help, she is doing a pretty good job as a mother.

Feeling close to Siwa, Shan'er asked the children to call Siwa "Grandma".

Siwa loved the two children even more than Shan'er. For hygiene reasons, she often cooked meals or snacks for them herself.

Right now, Shan'er was working on documents in the study, while Xuande was at the other end, munching on a crepe and exclaiming, "So delicious! Grandma, your crepes are the best!"

"Then eat more!" Siwa said kindly.

Shan'er stopped what she was doing and took the cup of coffee with cinnamon that Siwa handed her.

She smiled, stretched, and gazed at the view outside the large French windows. The view was quite expansive, overlooking a whole expanse of lush green forest on Guanyin Mountain. Sitting in an outdoor lounge chair, sipping coffee and watching the clouds rise, the feeling was simply blissful. So she often rested and pondered here.

Watching Xuande happily eating his crepe, a distant memory pierced Shan'er's mind. Damn it! How could she still not forget him after all these years…? Why? Why does his image always flash through her heart?

"I never expected this..." Shan'er said in a low voice, feeling a little upset. "There are always things that don't go as planned. The older Xuande gets, the more he looks like his father. They're practically identical!" This was her only mistake. She hadn't considered this in her plan—she couldn't have predicted what her child would look like.

Siwa sighed softly and spoke the truth. "Who told you to do what you shouldn't have done? You stole what you shouldn't have stolen. The Bible says: sin and punishment go hand in hand."

"So, what kind of punishment will I receive in the future?" Shan'er asked nonchalantly. "I don't think I've committed a crime."

"You still won't admit you're wrong?" Siwa shook her head. Shan'er could be ridiculously stubborn sometimes. "You! It's all because of your clever brain."

Seon-ah is like a thorny flower blooming in a desperate situation, exuding the most intense fragrance, but also easily causing people to stumble and fall into the abyss.

"He'll never know I stole his child, will he?" Shan'er smiled confidently.

To her now, Zhang Boxuan is just a passerby; she and Zhang Boxuan are like two parallel lines that will never intersect.

"Changyuan Hospital needs restructuring, expansion, and upgrades to its ward equipment, and what we've got our eye on is this piece of land in District T, owned by Kim Sun-ah of the Kim Group," Zhang Wenhu stated confidently at the Changyuan Hospital board meeting. "It's said that many conglomerates want to partner with Kim Sun-ah to develop this land, intending to use it to operate a department store. We need to speed things up, or other conglomerates will snatch it up, and that would be disastrous!"

The shareholders below carefully reviewed the documents in their hands and continued to listen to Zhang Wenhu's speech.

"However, we are facing a major problem..." Zhang Wenhu paused before continuing, "Jin Shan'er, the young president of Jin's Enterprise, is said to be a genius who thinks highly of herself and looks down on everyone. To win her favor, we must find someone even more astute than her."

Zhang Wenhu's gaze swept over several shareholders and senior executives, all of whom held their breath in tension.

"Bo Xuan, I need you to take care of this woman."

"Me?" Zhang Boxuan didn't understand why this task had fallen to him.
