La pluie printanière est comme du vin, les saules comme de la fumée - Chapitre 90

Chapitre 90

Qingyun glanced sideways at the large pile of white bones gleaming coldly not far away.

Suddenly, a strange, cold light flashed across Qingyun.

Juechen Valley belongs to her and Li Ge; no one else may touch it.

Zi Yi stared at Qing Yun's straight back. The warm twilight shone on her back, which was clearly gentle, but in that instant, she felt a chilling cold seep into that warm gentleness.

That Qingyun was so unfamiliar, so unfamiliar that it was unsettling.

Volume Two: Fate Leads to a Happy Marriage - Green Robe and Purple Robe 4

Zi Yi stared at Qing Yun's straight back. The warm twilight shone on her back, which was clearly gentle, but in that instant, she felt a chilling cold seep into that warm gentleness, as if a bright red blood flower was blooming evilly on her back.

That Qingyun was so unfamiliar, so unfamiliar that it was unsettling.

Suddenly, Qingyun turned around, smiled gently, and was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, as if everything that had just happened was a dream. "Ziyi, stay at an inn in the capital for the next few days, and return here with the coachman in three days." Then she looked around and said in a deep voice, "Protect Ziyi well during these three days."

She knew that Jun Wuhen would not trust her and would definitely send some people to hide around her.

The woman in purple nodded, inwardly relieved, and replied, "Yes, Madam."

After everyone had left, Qingyun looked around and walked into a forest.

There was no moon tonight, and the sky was overcast with dark clouds, with only a few stars occasionally peeking through. The dense trees in the forest blocked out the starlight, making the forest pitch black.

A gentle breeze stirred, causing the branches to tremble and emit a faint, eerie green glow.

Qingyun walked alone in the forest, her eyes shining brightly, a stark contrast to the lifeless atmosphere. A distinct smile played on her lips, and her eyes held a hint of anticipation.

It seemed that even the darkness of night could not dampen her bright and cheerful mood, which was as radiant as daytime.

It's been such a long, long time since I've seen Li Ge!

Qingyun walked through the forest in the dark.

When she didn't feel like writing, she would always hide in this forest, and Li Ge would search for her frantically. Strangely, Li Ge always managed to find her before nightfall. She was always very well hidden; there was no way anyone could discover her. And every time Li Ge found her, he would angrily roar, "You woman—get back to writing!"

Although Li Ge was furious at the time, upon closer observation, she could always see a deep, hidden concern in his eyes, and...

Qingyun smiled, shook her head, and didn't think about it anymore.

She shook her jade fan, stopped, bent down, and picked up a thin leaf.

A gentle breeze stirred, causing the white ribbon in Qingyun's hair to flutter. She closed her eyes, and a soft melody flowed from her red lips. The forest became very quiet; even the leaves on the branches dared not tremble, lest they disturb the tranquil atmosphere.

The music ended, and the atmosphere remained tranquil, except for a sudden rustling sound that grew louder as it approached. Upon closer inspection, it was a giant eagle with sharp eyes.

The giant eagle spread its wings and created a gust of wind, causing the leaves to flutter and dance in the air. Its eyes were as sharp as metal.

It stared at Qingyun.

Qingyun opened her jade fan, blocking the wildly dancing leaves. She closed the fan, a smile curving her lips. She tiptoed and gently patted its head, smiling slightly.

The giant eagle's eyes softened, and it swooped down, letting out a soft cry, like a docile puppy.

Qingyun nodded in satisfaction, sat on its back, and then gently stroked its head.

The giant eagle immediately spread its wings and flew towards the towering cliff.

This giant eagle was trained by Li Ge and her as a contingency plan in case one of them was seriously injured and unable to return to Juechen Valley. Unexpectedly, this giant eagle has actually come in handy.

A moment later, the giant eagle carried Qingyun to the cliff. After navigating through numerous traps and mechanisms in the pear blossom forest, Qingyun entered the Valley of Absolute Dust.

Pear blossoms fluttered in the air, and the bamboo house was brightly lit with wisps of smoke rising from its chimney.

Qingyun raised an eyebrow, shook her jade fan, and chuckled to herself: It's rare for Li Ge to cook; it seems she's in for a treat.

She always thought Li Ge was a perfect person, an immortal being. It was as if nothing in this world could stump him. Li Ge could save lives, make clothes, cook…

Sometimes, when she looks at him, she feels that he is very far away from her. Even though she could reach out and touch him, he still feels like an galaxy in the sky.

Qingyun stopped and took a deep sniff.

Hmm... this tastes like chestnut chicken! It's one of her favorite dishes.

Qingyun's eyelashes fluttered upwards in surprise, a faint smile playing on her lips. Did Lige know she would be coming today?

Although Li Ge possessed excellent culinary skills, she rarely showed them off. And the number of times she had tasted her cooking was also few. Only twice in total: the first time was when Li Ge healed her disfigurement, and the second time was when she first entered Juechen Valley.

Thinking about the dishes Li Ge would be cooking later, Qingyun's lips curled into a bright smile, and her pace quickened considerably.

Just as she was about to approach the bamboo house, Qingyun caught a glimpse of a green figure inside. She froze instantly, her smile freezing as if winter had suddenly descended, and her face turned as pale as paper.

Qingyun stood there, motionless for a long time.

After an unknown amount of time, Qingyun stiffly moved her feet, one hand on the door of the bamboo house, staring in disbelief at the back of the pretty woman in the kitchen.

A glint of water appeared in her clear eyes, and little by little, silver particles slowly gathered together, finally transforming into a pure silver that was hidden in the depths of her eyes.
