Les fantômes de l'ancien tombeau - Chapitre 16

Chapitre 16

The moonlight tonight is truly beautiful, its bright glow adding to the charm of the city. In an abandoned house on the outskirts of the city, two groups are conducting a massive drug deal. One of them is Smiling Tiger, still all smiles, a large cigar dangling from his lips, flanked by four bodyguards and the evil sorcerer. The other group consists of only two people, both blond, clearly a man and a woman. The man is carrying a notebook. "Simon, we meet again. You're much more handsome than before," Smiling Tiger says, embracing the man. "Old friend, did you bring your goods?" Simon remains unmoved, subtly pushing Smiling Tiger away to get to the point. Smiling Tiger laughs heartily, "Good, I love doing business with straightforward people like you. I brought the goods a while ago, Ah Long, bring them over." The burly man behind him, Ah Long, approaches carrying a black leather suitcase. “Mr. Simon, these are all top-quality goods. You know Interpol is cracking down hard these days, and it took me a lot of effort to get them here.” Simon smiled slightly. “I’ve long heard that Mr. Zhao is incredibly resourceful, but I didn’t expect you to be even more capable than the rumors suggest.” The smiling tiger laughed even harder at this. Everyone loves to hear compliments, especially from someone who is a well-known figure in the underworld.

“Mr. Simon, let’s inspect the goods first.” He then gave Ah Long a wink. Ah Long opened his briefcase, casually pulled out a packet of heroin, and tossed it to Simon. Simon tore open the packaging, scooped out a little with his little finger, and tasted it. “Indeed, good stuff. Okay, I’ll take it all.” He then opened his laptop. “Still your old account. How about I transfer one hundred million US dollars to you?” Simon asked, looking at the smiling tiger. The smiling tiger stretched out his fat hand: “Wait, Mr. Simon, you know the European market is tight right now. The price isn’t what it used to be.” Simon looked at him, a mocking smile on his lips: “So, Mr. Zhao means…” The smiling tiger’s face almost contorted. “I want 30% more.” Simon’s smile vanished. “10%.” The smiling tiger shook his head. “Not a penny less.” Simon shrugged. “Then it seems we can’t do business. Let’s go.” He turned and walked away. “Wait,” the smiling tiger called after them. Simon turned around with a flourish. "Boss Zhao, have you changed your mind?" The smiling tiger's smile vanished. "Want to leave? Not so easy. I thought the Blood Emperor, famous throughout Europe, was some kind of big shot. Turns out he's just an arrogant idiot who brought a woman with him. You'd better transfer your money to my account obediently, and I might spare your life. Otherwise, the Blood Emperor will truly become a bloodbath."

Simon remained unfazed. "I've heard you're a double agent, but I never thought you'd try to take advantage of me. You think you can handle me with just a few men?" His smiling face turned icy. "Go! Capture him for me, and remember, he has to be alive."

Please continue to support me. Vote for me. I would be extremely grateful.

Chapter Seventeen: A Strange Night (Part One)

Four men surrounded Simon and Sophie. Sophie remained expressionless, while Simon still acted nonchalant. Seeing that the situation was under control, the smiling tiger arrogantly shouted, "Ah Long, hold back a little, don't kill our cash cow. As for this chick, she's not bad looking, is she?" He chuckled lewdly. Ah Long, who had followed him for years, understood his meaning perfectly. "Boss, don't worry, I'll leave her to you." With that order, the four men split up to deal with Simon and Sophie.

While tracking Sophie, Kuang Tianyou had already informed Uncle Qiu and Kuang Huashi. At this moment, the three of them had just reunited and were hiding outside, watching the fight unfold. Ah Long and his three companions attacked quickly, steadily, and ruthlessly, displaying a fearless and terrifying aura. It was clear that this aura was cultivated through countless battles, and they possessed considerable martial arts skills. Unfortunately, their opponents this time were too strong; no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't hit Sophie and her companion. To Sophie and her companion, Ah Long's punches were as slow as tortoises. After playing with Ah Long and his group for a while, Simon didn't want to waste any more time. He suddenly disappeared, and then Ah Long and his three companions were sent flying. They crashed to the ground, groaning and unable to get up. Simon had broken both of Ah Long's arms, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth; he was in excruciating pain and covered in cold sweat. However, he was fierce enough to grit his teeth and endure the pain.

Simon dusted off his clothes, smiling at Smiling Tiger like a cat eyeing its plaything. Smiling Tiger, surprised that Simon had dealt with his four trusted henchmen so quickly, paled. "Mage," the black-clad man beside him chuckled sinisterly, "Don't be afraid, I'm here." He made a strange gesture, and four men emerged from behind him. These were the four zombies who had robbed the police station. Simon's expression turned serious as he looked at the four zombies. The black-clad man's face showed smugness, but to others, it appeared sinister and terrifying. His lips moved rapidly, chanting incantations. Suddenly, his eyes gleamed with an evil light. At the same time, the four zombies, like well-trained warriors, pounced on Simon. Their speed exceeded human limits. Simon was caught off guard, taking eight heavy blows simultaneously, and then being kicked into the air by one of the zombies, crashing to the ground. The zombies possessed immense strength; for an ordinary person, these blows would have been fatal. Just as Simon was kicked away, Sophie shouted and leaped forward, engaging the four walkers in a fierce battle. Simon slowly rose to his feet, his eyes blazing with rage. In his fury, he roared to the sky, then lowered his head, revealing long, zombie-like fangs. Then, with speed several times faster than the walkers, he charged towards them, sending them flying with a mere flick of his wrist.

His anger had reached its peak. He had always been proud of being a noble zombie, possessing unparalleled power. Today, however, he had lost face in front of Sophie, so he showed no mercy. Seeing his trusted zombie sent flying, and then seeing Simon's cold, murderous gaze, cold sweat poured down his face. He couldn't help but secretly regret his greed. His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground. The black-clad mage's face showed surprise, seemingly unable to believe that Simon was a zombie. Simon smiled coldly and slowly walked towards the black-clad man. Each of his footsteps sounded like a death knell to the black-clad man's ears. The black-clad man knew he had encountered a formidable enemy. He knew his strength was insufficient to deal with Simon, but he was unwilling to simply surrender. He bit his tongue, spitting out a cloud of blood mist. At the same time, he chanted his sect's blood incantation. This blood incantation was a secret life-saving technique passed down through his sect. The caster must use their own life essence as a conduit to gather the impure energy of heaven and earth. The life force shrouded in the blood mist will be slowly devoured by it—it's incredibly powerful. The caster will suffer severe damage after using it, requiring ten years of cultivation to recover. Therefore, the man in black will only use this technique in a life-or-death situation. Simon, overconfident in his own power, watched coldly as the man in black performed his ritual. In an instant, thick, snow-white mist rose into the room, quickly filling the entire space.

The man in black let out a sharp, long laugh, and the four zombies stood up, lunging madly at Simon. Simon leaped above one of the zombies. With a single press and twist on its head, the zombie's head was severed. But the zombie didn't die as Simon had expected; instead, it clung to Simon's body and wouldn't let go. Simon, having misjudged the situation, was caught off guard and pounced on. The other zombies also rushed forward, grabbing Simon and suspending him in mid-air. Seeing this opportunity, the black-clad mage, risking great loss of energy, intensified the power of his blood curse. Within the blood mist, Simon felt his strength slowly disappearing, being devoured bit by bit, like silk being peeled from a cocoon. In shock, he mustered all his strength and struggled desperately. The four zombies couldn't withstand the immense pressure and broke into pieces. Simon slowly descended from the air, his previous elegance gone, replaced only by rage. He wanted nothing more than to tear the man in black to shreds. Since becoming a zombie, he had never suffered two such devastating defeats. His overwhelming zombie power had always allowed him to roam the human world unchallenged; no one could harm him. But today, he had been thwarted twice in a row. How could he swallow this insult? With a flash, he appeared before the man in black. He grabbed the man's throat, lifting him into the air. "You lowly wretch, how dare you hurt me! Today I'll make you die right here!" The black-clad sorcerer, choked speechless, stared at him with a complex mix of resentment, fear, and regret. Finally, despair overwhelmed him. In his resentment, his head lolled to the side, and he died.

Chapter Nineteen: The First Transformation into a King

Author: Xiao Tianyi

As the smiling tiger drew ever closer, Kuang Huashi's heart pounded with anxiety. Her situation had long been observed by those with ulterior motives. Kuang Tianyou had been watching her safety closely from the beginning, and seeing her in danger, he immediately stepped forward to rescue her. The cunning Simon saw through his intentions and consistently blocked his path, occasionally mocking him, "You slow cop, you're too slow! If you want to save her, hurry up!" Kuang Tianyou could no longer conceal his identity. He clenched his fists, transforming into a zombie. Simon was surprised to see him like this. He never expected that his adversary would be one of his own kind. "So you're a zombie too. Come on, let me see just how capable you are." Saying this, he abandoned his contemptuous attitude and attacked Kuang Tianyou with all his might. Although Kuang Tianyou was a zombie, his speed was still ordinary in Simon's eyes, even though Kuang Tianyou's physical abilities far exceeded human limits. "So you're a malnourished fellow. For the sake of a false reputation, you've abandoned your instincts. Without drinking the blood of the living, how can you unleash your power?" As expected of a zombie who'd lived for hundreds of years, Simon immediately saw the problem, knowing that Kuang Tianyou couldn't use his inherent abilities because he wasn't drinking the blood of the living. "Let me show you the true power of a zombie." Simon said, suddenly disappearing from Kuang Tianyou's sight. Before Kuang Tianyou could react, he was struck solidly in the abdomen by Simon's punch. The punch was incredibly powerful; Kuang Tianyou was sent flying several feet away, a searing pain shooting through his abdomen. Simon looked at him with a smile, defiantly raising his fist, his face full of disdain. Kuang Tianyou was consumed by rage, his blood rushing to his head. He let out a furious roar. His body swayed, his speed increasing considerably, now on par with Simon's. Caught off guard, Simon was also sent flying.

At this moment, Kuang Huashi was on the verge of life and death. The smiling tiger grabbed her neck, about to suck her blood. Just then, Kuang Tianyou suddenly appeared in front of the smiling tiger, sending him flying with a hook punch. Kuang Huashi, terrified as the smiling tiger lunged at her, had her eyes tightly shut. She felt herself being held in a warm embrace, and felt a comforting masculine scent. Startled, she opened her eyes and saw Kuang Tianyou looking at her with concern. A strange sense of peace washed over her, and she felt a desire to stay in Kuang Tianyou's arms forever. Her heart pounded like a deer's. Kuang Huashi had always been aloof and self-absorbed, never paying attention to other men. But since meeting Kuang Tianyou, she found herself slowly changing. She didn't know when, but she had begun to notice this man before her. He was nothing like the men she knew, who would do anything for fame and fortune, and he wasn't unfaithful. On the contrary, he seemed to be trying his best to avoid fame and fortune. During her brief stay at Jiajia Building, the observant Kuang Huashi noticed that Wang Zhenzhen harbored feelings for Kuang Tianyou, but Kuang Tianyou always remained aloof. Logically speaking, Wang Zhenzhen was an exceptionally attractive woman. Not only was she beautiful, but she also possessed a kind and gentle personality. Moreover, her family was quite wealthy. Why didn't Kuang Tianyou like her? The deep melancholy hidden in Kuang Tianyou's eyes had once piqued Kuang Huashi's curiosity. How could someone only around thirty years old possess the wise gaze of someone who had experienced the vicissitudes of life?
