Une relation tragique - Chapitre 32

Chapitre 32

Lin Feng glanced at his phone and said, "It's twelve o'clock. This is a normal power outage at the school!" Hearing this, Zhao Long and the others were relieved.

Zhao Long felt a chill run down his spine, as if some unknown monster was about to grab him. He couldn't help but turn around, and this caused Liu Hong and Wang Feng, who were already tense, to instinctively look back as well.

Behind him was pitch blackness, a complete void with nothing in sight.

Just then they heard a "snap" sound. When they turned around, they discovered something terrifying: Lin Feng was gone.

Zhao Long called out in a hoarse voice, "Teacher Lin," his voice trembling with fear. Wang Feng and Liu Hong's legs also began to tremble uncontrollably.

"Damn it!" Lin Feng's voice suddenly came from the darkness. "What's the rush? I dropped my phone, I was just picking it up!"

Zhao Long and the others almost collapsed to the ground. Suddenly the lights went out, and they abruptly crouched down to pick up their phones. The place and atmosphere were so terrifying, it was hard not to feel tense, but Lin Feng seemed completely unfazed. It was truly baffling how he'd developed such courage. Was it really like in Stephen Chow's "Out of the Dark," where he rode roller coasters several times a day since childhood and then spent countless hours in haunted houses?

In their eyes, Lin Feng had almost become a monster. However, with Lin Feng here, they felt somewhat at ease, although they still felt a chill down their spines.

The three followed Lin Feng stealthily, constantly glancing at the classrooms on either side. They were terrified that some evil spirit or monster might leap out of the darkness and bite them. Lin Feng, however, continued walking steadily forward, clearly aiming for the classroom at the end of the corridor—the one from which Liu Shenghu had heard the crying.

Zhao Long, who was walking forward trembling, suddenly bumped into Lin Feng in front of him, and Wang Feng and Liu Hong behind him also bumped into him.

Lin Feng's sudden stop made the three of them uneasy. Zhao Long asked in a low voice, "Teacher Lin, what's wrong? Why did you stop walking?"

Lin Feng put his hand to his mouth and gently shushed, saying, "Quiet, listen carefully!" Then he pretended to listen intently.

Seeing that Lin Feng seemed to be listening carefully to something, Zhao Long and the other two also listened attentively.

A series of intermittent sobs could be heard coming from the corridor, like a plaintive lament. The sound was soft and faint, but if you listened carefully, it seemed to be right next to your ear.

Wang Feng felt his heart pounding uncontrollably. He instinctively covered his ears with his hands, trying to block out the chilling sound. But the sound drifted into his ears, and no matter how hard he tried to block it, it was no use; it continued to linger in his ears.

Wang Feng said in a trembling voice, "Teacher Lin, that voice..."

Lin Feng turned his head and saw Wang Feng in the darkness seemingly covering his ears with his hands, saying, "It's no use, the sounds made by the ghosts can't be stopped."

He had reached the classroom at the very end, the one with the lock on. He took out a flashlight from his pocket, shone it on the lock, and showed it to the lock. He had come prepared.

Liu Hong gritted his teeth in anger and said, "Teacher Lin, why didn't you take out your flashlight to light things up when the lights were turned off?"

"Ah! Just to add some atmosphere, it's no fun without light!" Lin Feng said nonchalantly. If they could see Lin Feng right now, they would definitely see him grinning slyly.

Zhao Long and the others almost fainted. It was already scary enough, but they had to add to the atmosphere. It was obvious that the teacher was trying to scare them to death. I really don't know what this teacher was thinking.

Lin Feng observed the lock for a while, then put the small flashlight in his mouth and took a small object out of his pocket. In the darkness, Zhao Long and the others couldn't see clearly what it was. However, after he poked the object at the lock a few times, the lock made a soft "click" and opened!

Lin Feng said smugly, "Alright!" and took the lead in walking into the classroom.

Zhao Long and the others initially didn't want to go in, but after considering that it might not be safe outside and that at least they could rely on Lin Feng inside, they decided to go in after weighing their options.

Lin Feng shone his flashlight inside, then turned to the three and said, "Want to see a real ghost? This is a rare opportunity!"

Although the three were terrified, curiosity ultimately prevailed. Wang Feng was the first to express his courage, saying, "What's there to be afraid of? Let's see! It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

Zhao Long and Liu Hong nodded vigorously, indicating that they were by no means cowards.

Lin Feng said, "Alright, close your eyes, I'll temporarily open your Yin Eyes!"

Zhao Long said suspiciously, "Teacher Lin, you're telling us to close our eyes, are you planning to do something funny to scare us again?"

Lin Feng was so angry he almost vomited blood. He said, "What good will it do me to scare you? What could be more terrifying than making you see a ghost!"

The three thought about it and agreed, so they closed their eyes as instructed. Each of them felt Lin Feng's fingers rubbing heavily on their eyelids, even their eyeballs hurt.

Lin Feng said softly, "Alright, you can open your eyes now. Don't be scared!"

The three opened their eyes, feeling as if their entire vision was shrouded in a fog, somewhat blurry. As their vision gradually cleared, they saw a girl sitting under a pile of tables near the corner of the classroom, her arms wrapped around her knees, her head buried and her shoulders shaking as she sobbed. At the same time, the sound of her crying was crystal clear in their ears, no longer as intermittent as before.

Strangely enough, while everything else appeared blurry in the darkness, the girl was perfectly clear to them.

Lin Feng walked over first, and seeing that no one followed, he waved and said, "Come here. How can you see clearly from so far away? Are you all scared?"

His provocation worked, and the three of them fell for it. None of them wanted to admit they were cowards. They all followed, their legs quite weak, but they still mustered their courage and walked over.

Lin Feng coughed lightly as he walked up to the girl.

Wang Feng thought: Is this guy planning to give a speech? He needs to clear his throat!

Liu Hong thought with great admiration: "He is truly an extraordinary person. He faces ghosts as if nothing has happened, without any fear or trepidation. I must ask him for advice when I have the chance."

Lin Feng gently asked the girl, "Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?"

The girl who had been crying on the ground stopped sobbing and slowly raised her head, saying, "Why hasn't he come yet? Do you know why he hasn't come yet?"

When the girl looked up, Wang Feng and the others almost wanted to run away, but their legs just wouldn't obey them and kept shaking.

Two streams of blood-red tears streamed down the girl's face. One eyeball had dangled out of its socket, a piece of her nose was missing, and her upper lip was torn and turned outwards. Her entire face looked like a persimmon that had been stepped on, terrifying and disgusting, making it impossible to look at her a second time. Wisps of gray energy swirled around her, circulating around her body; that was what Lin Feng called resentment.

Lin Feng didn't react much to the face; after all, his experiences were beyond the comprehension of these rookies. His spirit had been tempered through countless trials, forging an iron will. Naturally, he wouldn't be easily defeated by such a small, terrifying scene.

Lin Feng crouched down, approaching the girl, and said, "Can you tell me who you're waiting for?" His tone was incredibly gentle, like a kind elder asking a younger person a question with concern and naturalness. His face was expressionless, carrying only a gentle smile and encouraging eyes.

Book 3, Chapter 8: Ghostly Tales (8)

The girl tilted her head slightly and asked, "Will you help me?"

Lin Feng answered naturally and confidently, as if it were his duty, saying, "Of course, I'm happy to be able to help you. Tell me who you're waiting for?"

The girl hesitated and said, "I made plans to meet my boyfriend here today, but he hasn't come yet. Can you tell me why?"

Lin Feng asked, "What's your boyfriend's name?"

The girl's face suddenly turned terrifying as she said, "Do you know why he hasn't come yet?"

Lin Feng thought to himself: This is bad. This vengeful spirit has been accumulating resentment for too long. The resentment has clouded her reason. It seems necessary to bring her back to her senses!

Before Lin Feng could finish his thought, a sudden surge of gray energy enveloped the girl. Lin Feng covered his face and took a few steps back. The girl's voice became shrill: "Why hasn't he come yet? Why hasn't he come yet?" She kept repeating this sentence, and it got faster and faster, as if a layer of gray mist had covered her body.

She slowly stood up, then her body floated up, her feet off the ground, her long hair billowing upwards. There was no wind in the classroom, and her shrill voice had turned into a scream: "Why isn't he here yet? Why isn't he here yet?"

Lin Feng pushed the three people behind him aside and said, "Stay away! Her mind is clouded by resentment, she's in danger now!"

Wang Feng, Liu Hong, and Zhao Long were all a bit annoyed. With his magical abilities, he should have been able to resolve this much earlier, but he deliberately dragged it out until the other person went berserk. Little did they know that Lin Feng wanted to answer his question to resolve her obsession, and that the vengeful spirit's questions were completely nonsensical. After all that, she just kept repeating the same question, "Why hasn't he come yet?" Lin Feng had no idea why he hadn't come yet!

Seeing the vengeful spirit about to go berserk, Lin Feng flipped his hand, already holding a talisman between his index and middle fingers. With a flick of his wrist, the talisman shot towards the vengeful spirit like an arrow, accurately sticking to its body. It was a "Purifying Mantra," capable of purifying all impurities and restoring the original purity.

After the talisman was affixed to the vengeful spirit, the spirit appeared to be in great pain. Its already gruesome face became even more distorted, making it unbearable to look at.

Lin Feng formed hand seals and chanted incantations. Zhao Long and the other two couldn't understand what he was saying, but they saw wisps of gray energy surrounding the vengeful spirit gathering towards the talisman, slowly being drawn into it. Finally, the gray energy was completely absorbed, leaving not a trace around the vengeful spirit.

After fulfilling its mission, the talisman turned to ashes and fell to the ground.

Lin Feng waved his hand and said, "Alright, there's no problem. Her origin has been completely absorbed, and she's no longer in danger. Come on over!"

The three men approached with some skepticism, but upon seeing the girl, they were all stunned. What a beautiful face she had! Her shoulder-length hair fell smoothly down, two clear tear tracks clung to her face, her bright eyes held a pitiful look, and her straight nose and tightly pursed lips made her appear utterly pathetic.

Was that the same wailing ghost from before? The three of them could hardly believe their eyes. They rubbed their eyes hard to make sure they weren't dreaming or seeing things. All three thought: If I saw ten, no! a hundred, beautiful female ghosts every day, I wouldn't be afraid! How pleasing to the eye!

Just as Lin Feng was about to ask a question, he suddenly heard a "drip, drip" sound behind him. Turning around, he saw that all three of them had long strings of drool hanging from the corners of their mouths, glistening in the moonlight shining through the window.

Lin Feng frowned and cursed, "Damn it!" Then he said, "Haven't you ever seen a beautiful woman before? You're acting like a lovesick fool! Are all students these days frowning? How embarrassing!"

The three men, startled by Lin Feng's angry outburst, quickly wiped the drool from their mouths. Wang Feng, grinning lecherously, asked first, "Little sister, what's your name?"

Zhao Long, who was standing next to him, said, "Damn it, you already have a girlfriend, okay? Don't try to have your cake and eat it too. Give me a chance, okay?"

Liu Hong corrected him, saying, "It's not about eating what's in the pot while occupying what's in the bowl; it's about eating what's in the bowl while occupying..."

Lin Feng was almost driven mad by these three guys. When they first saw the vengeful spirit, they were so scared that they almost ran away (of course, he didn't know that they were too scared to run!). Now, seeing how others looked after exorcising the vengeful spirit, they were all like lecherous wolves, their eyes practically glowing with lust.

Lin Feng shouted, "Stop arguing! Do you think this is a dating game?"

The three of them then remembered their mission and lowered their heads in embarrassment, not daring to look at Lin Feng's zombie-like face. However, they still stole glances at the vengeful spirit from time to time. After all, the chance to encounter a beauty like her at their medical university was probably only once every three years, so of course they wanted to make the most of their time to see her.

Lin Feng glared at the three of them again before asking the vengeful spirit, "What's your boyfriend's name?"

The vengeful spirit said in a clear, crisp voice, "My name is Xiaoxue."

Lin Feng almost vomited blood. He had asked what her boyfriend's name was, and she had answered with her own name. Lin Feng said, "Xiao Xue, I asked what your boyfriend's name is?"

Xiaoxue blinked her big eyes and smiled happily, saying, "My boyfriend is a glutton, but he's also a picky eater. I call him 'Pointy-Mouth,' but his mouth isn't pointy at all!"

Lin Feng waved his hand and said, "Alright, alright, I know! Xiaoxue, do you know what day it is today?"

Xiaoxue said in confusion, "June 8th? Today is my birthday!"

Lin Feng shook his head and said, "No, today is November 26, 2009!"

Xiaoxue opened her eyes wide and said, "How is that possible? This year is June 8th, 2001!"

Lin Feng calmly said, "Because you are already dead!"

Xiaoxue paused for a moment, then said, "I'm already dead. I'm already dead."

Lin Feng nodded and said, "Yes, you've been dead for a long time. If you don't believe me, try touching me!" As he spoke, Lin Feng stretched out his hand.

The three guys behind him eagerly stretched out their hands, saying, "Touch mine, touch mine!" "His hands are rough and calloused! Touch mine!" "No, touch mine, my hands feel the best!"

Lin Feng was so angry he wanted to kill someone. He said in a vicious voice, "If you don't behave yourselves and rein in your lecherous nature, I'll seal your yin eyes and see who you touch then!"

Upon hearing this, the three had no choice but to lower their hands, glaring at Lin Feng with resentment in their eyes.

Volume 3, Chapter 10: Ghostly Tales (10)

Lin Feng patiently reminded them of the things to pay attention to as he walked downstairs. With the matter resolved, everyone felt more relaxed. Wang Feng and Liu Hong were the happiest; this trip had been both tense and exciting, satisfying their curiosity and giving them a beautiful young woman to accompany them back home—they were naturally overjoyed.

The two completely forgot their earlier fear and happily followed Lin Feng downhill, chatting and laughing. Zhao Long, however, was unusually silent for some reason, only casually echoing their words. Wang Feng and Liu Hong, in their excitement, didn't think much of it; they were probably just happy that Zhao Long wasn't clinging to the beauty. This is basically a common flaw in men; even if there's someone who deeply loves you, and you love her deeply in return, you still want all women to revolve around you. This is probably just male vanity at play!

As the group chatted and laughed their way to the corner on the second floor, Lin Feng was a little ahead of them. Just as Lin Feng passed, an old woman suddenly emerged from behind the wall; her deeply wrinkled face looked particularly terrifying in the dead of night. Zhao Long and the others screamed in fright, nearly fainting.

The old woman was clearly startled by them and said, "You can see me?"

Lin Feng said irritably, "Auntie, please don't show up like this so suddenly in the future, okay? Not everyone in the world can see you!"

The old woman grinned, revealing her few remaining teeth, and said, "I've been dead for decades. You are the only people who can see me. I like to come out for a stroll in the middle of the night!"

Lin Feng glanced at the old woman, harboring no resentment. She was just a wandering spirit, so he didn't dwell on it. Ultimately, it was his fault. He should have removed the ghostly aura from the three boys' eyes after finishing his business and satisfying their curiosity. He'd scared them half to death, causing them to lose their composure in front of a beautiful woman.

The old woman ignored them and passed through them one by one. The three of them only felt a chill before the old woman disappeared down the stairs.

After leaving the anatomy building, Lin Feng led the group back to their dormitory and then removed the yin energy from the three of them before leaving. Although it was for their own good, the three were still quite unhappy. Because for three days, Xiao Xue's yin spirit wouldn't gather and couldn't manifest, they missed three days of enjoying the beauty.

The three of them stayed up late into the night discussing what had just happened, all looking forward to the happy times that would come three days later when Xiaoxue's spirits would reunite.

Back home, although there was no real danger, Lin Feng was still interrogated by Xiao Jie Jie for a long time, her ear being grabbed. Upon learning that Lin Feng had rescued a beautiful female ghost, Xiao Jie Jie inexplicably flew into a rage, twisting Lin Feng's ear almost into a pretzel. According to Xiao Jie Jie, Lin Feng only went to such lengths, dispelling resentment and teaching others the art of gathering spirits, because the ghost was beautiful. If it were a male ghost, he might have just used a "Five Thunder Spell" and left. This clearly shows that Lin Feng's intentions were questionable.

The next morning after school, Lin Feng waited for Zhao Long in his office. Zhao Long didn't arrive until everyone had left the school.

Lin Feng poured him a glass of water and said, "Zhao Long, I think you can tell me the truth about this matter now! Why did you implant Yin energy into their bodies?"
