Une relation tragique - Chapitre 45
Qiqi said, "The door won't open!"
Lin Feng laughed when he heard this and said, "If you can't open it, kick it! With your strength, you could kick the door all the way to Albania!"
Book 3, Ghostly Tales, Chapter 41: Soul Capture (5)
Qiqi didn't answer, but instead kicked the door. Lin Feng fully expected a loud "crack," and that the door would either shatter or collapse; he was very confident in Qiqi's incredible strength. However, instead of a "crack," he heard Qiqi cry out "Ouch!" and start jumping and hopping around, clutching her foot.
Lin Feng hurriedly asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong?"
Qiqi said with a pained expression, "It hurts so much! This door is so hard, it almost broke my leg!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng walked to the door and gently kicked it twice. The sound was muffled, as if the door was solid. Lin Feng asked in surprise, "What's going on?"
The effeminate voice rang out again, saying, "Hehe, do you know how powerful this is? As long as you honestly tell me the 'Ghost-Summoning Curse,' I'll let you two go. Otherwise, you can just wait here to die!"
Lin Fengqi cursed loudly, "What kind of trash is this? If you're so capable, come out and show me your skills. What kind of skill is it to harm people behind their backs?"
The man didn't seem angry, but he remained silent, leaving Lin Feng fuming. The two looked left and right, unsure what to do. Suddenly, Lin Feng remembered the character for "person" carved on the door. Considering the situation, he exclaimed, "A person inside a square frame—that's the character for 'prisoner'! This house seems to be a prison. It's a pity I didn't think of that before; now that I do, I can't get out!" He immediately regretted his words.
Kiki thought for a moment, and it seemed to make sense. She said, "Do you have any talismans that can break these evil spells?"
Lin Feng slapped his forehead and said, "How could I forget!" He took out the talisman from his pocket, searched for a while, and found one, saying, "This is it!" He put away the other talismans, pinched the talisman between his index and middle fingers, and threw it at the door, shouting, "Break!" The talisman stuck to the door with a soft "crackling" sound. The door, like a reflection in water, rippled and transformed into a wall.
Kiki exclaimed, "When did this turn into a wall?" Then she saw the door was on the other side. The two walked over, and Kiki gently pulled the door open easily. Frustrated, Kiki punched the door, and with a loud "bang," she smashed a large hole in it.
Lin Feng wanted to look at the next door, but Qiqi grabbed him and said, "Don't look anymore, let me do it!"
Lin Feng looked at Qi Qi in confusion and asked, "What?"
Kiki exuded a sharp aura, her eyes suddenly turning blood red. She strode towards the next door. Lin Feng, seeing Kiki's demonic transformation, said smugly, "You despicable bastard, you've angered my partner. You're in for it!" It seemed Kiki was angry because that guy had tricked her.
Kiki walked to the next door, punched it open, and found no one inside. Kiki broke down all the doors in no time, until she reached the last one.
After breaking down the door, a figure dressed in red with a gold collar around his neck, appearing neither male nor female, sat inside, clutching a straw doll and staring at Kiki in terror. He hadn't expected Kiki to be so powerful, smashing all the doors in less than two minutes. His fear was palpable, but seeing Kiki's deep red eyes made him tremble even more, his whole body shaking like a leaf.
The man spoke in a soft, seductive male voice, "Spare me, and I'll give you this. Please don't kill me!"
Qiqi snatched the straw doll from the man's hand, threw it to Lin Feng, and then asked the man, "Who sent you to harm President Wang's son? Tell me!"
The man looked like a defeated rooster, dejectedly bowing his head and saying, "It's from 'Gravity Company'." Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly yelled "Ah!" which startled Lin Feng.
His face was flushed, his jaw clenched, and a trickle of blood flowed from his mouth. He clutched his neck in agony, the veins throbbing strangely, writhing like small snakes, a sign of his immense suffering. Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of blood, spraying it directly at Qiqi opposite him.
Qiqi was incredibly skilled, especially in her demonic state, where her speed was astonishing. In a flash, she had already dodged to the side.
Poor Lin Feng, he didn't have time to dodge and was sprayed all over his head and face with the blood that guy spat out, just like a blood rain.
Lin Feng felt so nauseous he almost vomited, and was just about to unleash a torrent of curses when the guy suddenly fell face down off the bed, convulsed a few times, and then lay still. Lin Feng was furious; the person he'd finally found had died so inexplicably. The person behind this was definitely not simple!
Qiqi withdrew her demonic energy and returned to her normal appearance, saying, "Thankfully, Mr. Wang's son is safe!"
Lin Feng shook his head and said, "We managed to save it this time, but what about next time? Look at this guy," he said, pointing to the corpse on the ground, and suddenly exclaimed, "Huh? What happened here?"
The man's corpse was shrinking uncontrollably, emitting wisps of white steam, and the stench was extremely pungent and overwhelming. The two men covered their noses as they watched the corpse rapidly shrink into a small ball, beneath which lay a large pool of blood.
Qiqi said, "It seems like this guy has a powerful backer!"
Lin Feng nodded absentmindedly and said, "He's at least several times better than me. This guy's abilities are a bit stronger than mine, but not quite as good as the dead Zhang Xiang. Yet the person behind him could easily kill him. He's not simple, not simple at all." He repeated "not simple" twice, which shows that Lin Feng considered himself far inferior to the person behind him.
Kiki looked at the disgusting lump of flesh and said, "Let's go! Anyway, Mr. Wang's son has been saved. Just make them be careful in the future!"
Lin Feng nodded, and the two men withdrew. They left the villa and approached the car. Just as they were about to get in, Lin Feng noticed a small note stuck to the car window. He took it down and unfolded it, reading: "You got lucky this time. It's best to mind your own business; next time it won't be so easy!"
There was no signature or name at the bottom of the note, and after looking at it for a long time, they still couldn't figure it out. The two had no choice but to get in the car and return to Mr. Wang's house.
Volume 3, Chapter 42, Heavenly Ghosts (1)
On the top floor of the "Gravity Building," Hu Jing was organizing documents in her office. Hu Jing was General Manager Wang's secretary, a role equivalent to that of the director of a county-level government office. She graduated from a well-known university in mainland China and was later hired by the "Gravity Group." With her excellent foreign language skills, hardworking attitude, and a bit of luck, she became the chairman's secretary in less than a year.
She loves her job and tries her best to do it well. Today, as usual, Hu Jing was the first to arrive at work. At the company headquarters, her diligence is well-known.
The cleaning staff hadn't come to clean yet. Hu Jing was organizing documents in the nearly 100-square-meter chairman's office, tidying up all the documents that President Wang needed to review today and placing them on his desk.
After finishing all this, she smiled contentedly and walked gracefully outside. Just as she reached the middle of the office, a sudden gust of cold wind swept through from somewhere. Hu Jing froze for a moment, and then her head fell silently from her neck, as if severed by an invisible blade. Blood spurted several meters high, spraying onto the ceiling. Then, with a thud, the headless body collapsed into a pool of blood, which quickly soaked through Hu Jing's white business suit.
The first person to discover Hu Jing's body was a cleaning worker. When she opened the door and saw the headless corpse, she fainted without uttering a sound. After waking up, she immediately called the police.
Mr. Wang came with Lin Feng. Looking at the body on the ground, he really didn't know what to say. This was one of his most capable assistants, who had died so inexplicably in his office. If Lin Feng, Qi Qi, and Xiao Xue hadn't stayed at his house last night to save his son Xiao Jun, he wouldn't have been able to explain himself.
Last night, after Lin Feng and Qi Qi brought the straw doll back, they burned it to release the trapped soul, then placed it back into Xiao Jun's body. Xiao Jun woke up shortly afterward; the purplish-red veins all over his body had disappeared. Although he was still very weak, he was fully conscious. Seeing his father looking at him with concern, Xiao Jun called out, "Dad!" This made Mr. Wang so happy he almost cried.
That night, Lin Feng, Qi Qi, and Xiao Xue stayed at President Wang's house as a precaution. They were woken up early the next morning by a phone call. A bloody incident had occurred at the "Gravity Building"—the chairman's secretary had been found dead in the chairman's office, and the police were investigating. Upon hearing this news, President Wang was completely overwhelmed. It was one problem after another. He had just resolved his son's situation, and now someone had died at his company; President Wang was utterly bewildered.
Seeing Lin Feng and Qi Qi arrive, Li Mingsheng hurriedly ran over and said, "Hey, I knew you guys would come! Come and take a look. Apart from the victim's footprints and fingerprints, there are no other traces. I'm wondering if this is a special case. Let's take the case first, and if anything else happens, I'll transfer it to the Special Investigation Division!"
After walking around the office, Lin Feng and Qi Qi both had very strange expressions. Li Mingsheng, noticing their expressions, asked, "What's wrong?"
Lin Feng said, "There is a corpse aura, it's 'accumulated corpse aura,' which means the body has probably been dead for about two years."
Li Mingsheng was taken aback and said, "This really is strange. Damn, there's been a lot of news about 'Gravity Group' lately. Is someone deliberately trying to trip us up?" Then he leaned closer to Lin Feng and pointed to Boss Wang, who was answering the police's questions outside, and said to Lin Feng, "Is there anything wrong with him?"
Lin Feng shook his head and said, "He didn't do anything wrong. It's just that his son was almost killed yesterday!" Then he told Li Mingsheng about what happened last night. Li Mingsheng was speechless. When Lin Feng said that the dead guy was silenced with profound Taoist magic after mentioning "Gravity Group," Li Mingsheng pondered, "Could it have been done by someone inside their organization?"
Lin Feng nodded and said, "It's very likely!"
Li Mingsheng suddenly smiled and said, "If it's an insider, then it's simple. You and Qiqi can both sense it! In a bit, have him gather everyone in the company together, and you'll know immediately, won't you?"
Lin Feng smiled wryly and said, "It's not that easy. A master can conceal their spiritual energy so well that they look no different from a normal person. If you can tell, then you're not a master!"
Li Mingsheng said, "Then what can we do? I reckon he's after President Wang. This time he just accidentally hit the secondary car. He'll definitely continue until he kills President Wang!"
Lin Feng suddenly clapped his hands and said, "I've got it! Find out who owns the villa in building 63 of the 'Happiness Garden' complex! The guy who cast the curse is active there; it must have been arranged by the mastermind!"
Li Mingsheng said, "Yes, yes, your guess is correct. I'll take care of it when I get back!"
After chatting for a few more minutes, Qiqi had thoroughly explored the office, inside and out. She approached Li Mingsheng and teased, "Officer Li, have you found anything?"
Li Mingsheng said with a forced smile, "With the Grand Master here, do I really need to do anything?"
After discussing it further, the three decided that Li Mingsheng would go back to investigate the owner of the villa, Lin Feng would stay to protect President Wang, and Qiqi would go to the headquarters office area to investigate.
After Lin Feng came out, he told President Wang, who immediately agreed that it was no problem. He told outsiders that Lin Feng was his bodyguard and Qi Qi was his new secretary.
President Wang asked Lin Feng about the situation. Lin Feng explained the situation he and Li Mingsheng had speculated about, and then said, "President Wang, think about it carefully. Is there anyone in the group who is dissatisfied with you, or who, for some other reason, harbors resentment towards you and wants to take revenge?"
After pondering for a long time, Mr. Wang said, "I don't think so!"
At this moment, a man who looked very capable and was about the same age as Mr. Wang hurriedly walked up to Mr. Wang and said, "Mr. Wang, are you alright?"
Lin Feng sized up the man. He wasn't exactly handsome, but he exuded the aura of a mature man. He seemed very composed and had a unique kind of appeal.
When Mr. Wang saw the visitors, he smiled and said, "I'm fine. Let me introduce you!" He then pointed to Lin Feng and Qi Qi and said, "This is my bodyguard, and she is my new secretary!" He then said to Lin Feng and Qi Qi, "This is Vice Chairman Yang Shaoxin, the head of our group's real estate company. He has achieved remarkable results!"
Yang Shaoxin humbly replied, "No, no. By the way, has President Wang found out who did it?"
Mr. Wang waved his hand and said, "No matter what happens, we can't be distracted. I'll handle these things myself. You go ahead and get busy!"
Yang Shaoxin said urgently, "But, Mr. Wang..."
Mr. Wang interrupted Yang Shaoxin, saying, "Go ahead and get busy. Trust me, I can handle this!"
Yang Shaoxin nodded and left helplessly.
Volume 3, Chapter 43, Heavenly Ghosts (2)
"Smash!" Yang Shaoxin smashed the glass full of red wine in his hand on the ground. The glass shattered and the red wine spilled on the carpet, looking like blood, staining the carpet red.
"Wang Qilin, even now you still won't let me do it! You want to take all the power for yourself, you've gone too far!" Yang Shaoxin vented his dissatisfaction in the empty office.
Wang Qilin is President Wang, and Yang Shaoxin and President Wang have been friends since childhood. They went to school together, were sent to the countryside together, and returned to the city together. From the very beginning of the company's establishment, Yang Shaoxin has been by Wang Qilin's side, wholeheartedly supporting him in building the empire. The "Gravity Group" has assets exceeding 5 billion yuan, and these assets continue to grow, all of which are inextricably linked to Yang Shaoxin. However, Wang Qizhong holds absolute power within the group and never relinquishes it easily. This is intolerable to Yang Shaoxin; he has been subservient to Wang Qizhong for over twenty years and can no longer endure it. Must he spend his entire life at the mercy of others?
Anger burned fiercely in his heart, yet his mind remained clear. Wasn't that bodyguard next to Wang Zhongqi the guy who ruined his plans yesterday? And that woman didn't seem like an ordinary person either.
The thought of yesterday infuriated him even more. He had gone to great lengths to obtain a hair from Wang Qizhong's suit, which he had paid a high price for, only to discover that the hair belonged to his son! This truly stunned him, but he was willing to let his son die. As long as he could distract Wang Qizhong, he could take advantage of the situation. Even if he couldn't seize his shares, he could at least establish his own business. But the old man acted as if nothing had happened, and even brought in someone of considerable skill, ruining his plans. How could he not be furious?
After forcing himself to calm down, Yang Shaoxin carefully considered his options. He needed to figure out how to deal with the new bodyguard and female secretary; they were really getting in the way, and might even expose him if he wasn't careful. Especially since the "Yin Wind Blade" formation he had someone set up in his office this morning was too abrupt. Although it didn't leave any clues, it still gave him a fright.
Yang Shaoxin took out another wine glass, poured himself a glass of red wine, and pondered his next move. More precisely, how to deal with the two people who had suddenly appeared beside Wang Qilin. He took a sip of wine, pressed his throbbing forehead with his fingers, and wondered what to do.
"Knock, knock, knock!" There was a knock on his office door.
Yang Shaoxin said somewhat impatiently, "Come in!"
A man pushed open the door and walked in with a chilling aura as he approached Yang Shaoxin. This man had high cheekbones, deep-set eyes, and a sallow complexion. At first glance, he looked like a zombie, emanating an unsettling aura that made people want to hide.
Upon seeing this person, Yang Shaoxin immediately stood up, looking nervous, and said, "Senior brother? Why aren't you leaving yet? Those two new guys are a real handful!"
The man shook his head and said, "They're just two little kids. Why are you so scared? Who could be more powerful than me?"
Yang Shaoxin said obsequiously, "Yes, yes, yes, I know you are invincible, senior brother, but those two juniors cannot be underestimated. Be careful what you do in your old age."
The man impatiently interrupted Yang Shaoxin, saying, "Alright, I understand. Give me 100,000 yuan; I need it!"
Without hesitation, Yang Shaoxin opened the drawer and wrote him a check for 100,000 yuan. The man took the check, glanced at it, and left with satisfaction. As he reached the door, he said, "If you can't handle those two youngsters, you can come find me, hahahaha," and laughed as he opened the door and left.
Yang Shaoxin watched the man leave and plopped down in a chair. The "Yin Wind Blade" formation that morning was set up by that man. He both disliked and feared this senior brother, yet he had no choice but to rely on him.
Yang Shaoxin is one of the "Heavenly Ghost Inheritors," which is actually a sect whose main mission is to find "Heavenly Ghosts." "Heavenly Ghosts" are monsters that think and appear like humans, but they can be resurrected after death. Unlike zombies, "Heavenly Ghosts" are more cruel and unpredictable. Yang Shaoxin's senior brother, Feng Xing, is the only surviving "Heavenly Ghost" of their generation.
Originally, there were three "Heavenly Ghosts," but two years ago, somehow, a college student discovered their true identities. Although young, this student possessed formidable magical and spiritual power. At that time, Feng Xing had just died and been resurrected as a new "Heavenly Ghost," and he and his two companions were replenishing what they needed. What they needed was human flesh and blood, specifically the flesh and blood of living people, to maintain their powerful spiritual energy from depletion.
The college student, upon discovering this, naturally couldn't stand idly by. After a fierce battle, only Feng Xing remained of the three "Heavenly Ghosts," and he was severely injured. However, the college student also perished in their combined attack. From that time on, Feng Xing rarely appeared. Each time he did, he was extremely cautious, lest an even more monstrous expert emerge and utterly defeat him! Although his sect members considered him invincible, impervious to talismans, and the peach wood sword merely a toy in his eyes, only he knew in his heart that there were always stronger opponents. He would never forget the earth-shattering spiritual power that college student unleashed when facing them—it was simply unbelievable. How could an ordinary person possess such immense spiritual power?
As for people like Yang Shaoxin, they are only responsible for making money for them or doing things on their behalf, while "Heavenly Ghosts" help them extend their lifespan appropriately and teach them some spells, etc.
Yang Shaoxin knew it was best to prevent "Heavenly Ghost" from intervening if possible. However, it seemed Feng Xing was quite interested in Wang Qilin's bodyguard. He knew his eccentric senior brother very well, and he had a bad feeling that his senior brother would go after Wang Qilin's bodyguard.
The methods used by "Heavenly Ghosts" to kill are extremely brutal and terrifying. Generally speaking, they can make the scene of killing one person look like the scene of killing a cow. They rarely do trivial things like setting up a "yin wind array" in the morning. "Heavenly Ghosts" kill without any particular purpose; it's usually just for entertainment. If they need to eat people, they will definitely eat them bit by bit from life to death, rather than simply killing them and being done with it.
Yang Shaoxin was afraid that if Feng Xing exposed him, he would not only be unable to acquire Wang Qilin's shares, but it would also be difficult for him to start his own business. He could sense that Wang Qilin's bodyguards were probably on par with him, but he was a little unsure about the woman. She looked beautiful and gentle, but her eyes flashed with a frightening light, seemingly even more insane than Feng Xing's crazed gaze.
How should we deal with them? Yang Shaoxin closed his eyes and pondered, tapping the armrest of his executive chair repeatedly with two fingers as his mind raced.
Volume 3, Chapter 44, Heavenly Ghosts (3)
Feng Xing walked through the swirling snow after leaving Yang Shaoxin's office. Ever since those two "Heavenly Ghosts" were brutally beaten to death by that brat in front of him, he had begun to doubt his own abilities. He was more curious about the true potential of these seemingly frail humans. Although that guy was dead, he had no doubt that a second person as powerful as him, or even more powerful, would emerge. Therefore, he had always moved with extreme caution, fearing discovery by the hidden masters lurking among the humans.
As the saying goes, caution is the best policy, and he now fully understands the meaning of that saying. For the past two years, he has eaten and slept well, moving silently through crowds, and no one has ever suspected that he is not human.
At the same time, he also came to realize the importance of money, and Yang Shaoxin's position as the "Master of Finances," responsible for the internal financial flow of the "Heavenly Ghost Inheritors," rose steadily. He was practically the second most important person in the sect after Yang Shaoxin. Although there weren't many "Heavenly Ghost Inheritors," their expenses were staggering. They were constantly on the move, searching for the next "Heavenly Ghost." If they couldn't find the next "Heavenly Ghost," Feng Xing would be very lonely, possibly the last one, and the "Heavenly Ghost" sect would come to an end.
The "Heavenly Demons" have traversed the globe since ancient times, reigning supreme on Earth hundreds of thousands of years ago. However, a terrible catastrophe wiped them out. The remaining Heavenly Demons founded this sect, determined to find enough more to change the world once more.
"Heavenly Demons" are actually parasites that hide inside human bodies. They only awaken after a human dies and continue to function in that body. They need to constantly draw on the life force of living people to prevent their bodies from decaying and to appear as normal people.
Feng Xing desperately needed to eat, and the thought of the bright red muscle fibers of human flesh made him unconsciously take a deep breath. However, for him, hunting humans was now incredibly easy. Rapid technological advancements had drastically improved the quality of human life, but spiritually, they were far more empty.
The most popular way to hunt for prey these days is online. His face, hidden beneath his trench coat, became strikingly handsome as he entered the internet cafe, attracting the attention of countless girls engrossed in their online activities. Every girl was thinking the same thing: "How wonderful it would be if he were my boyfriend!"
