Kapitel 5

Xi Jia hung up the phone and immediately called Mo Yushen. Before he could even respond, she demanded, "Mo Yushen, what do you mean?"

Mo Yushen said calmly, "Your current condition is not suitable for the competition."

Xi Jia retorted, "I know my condition best. It's just a headache. Besides, I'm getting better now. I'll be fine after three courses of treatment. Whether I can participate in the competition is up to me. If my physical condition isn't right before the competition, I won't risk my life."

"Mo Yushen, what gives you the right to disqualify me from the competition so easily?"

Mo Yushen didn't argue with her, he just said, "I haven't settled accounts with Wu Yang yet. He knew you were in poor health beforehand, but he still dared to hide it and register you for the exam."

"Mo Yushen, you are the one who is making a hasty judgment. There is still some time before the competition, and you don't even know my actual situation, yet you have made a conclusion so easily!"

Xi Jia didn't want to argue with him; her purpose in calling was to get him back into the competition.

If she is unwell at the time, she will withdraw from the competition. But if she doesn't register now, even if she recovers by then, she will no longer be eligible to participate.

“Tell Wu Yang that I will definitely participate in this tour.”

Mo Yushen showed no mercy: "Don't even think about it."

Xi Jia had no choice but to change her strategy: "When are you going back to Beijing?"

"Tomorrow morning." I'm going to Shanghai tomorrow, not back to Beijing.

Mo Yushen didn't explain much.

Xi Jia looked outside and saw that the clouds had thinned and the rain wouldn't last much longer.

"I'll go to Grandpa Yue's house to find you after the rain stops."

Mo Yushen knew what she was up to; the meeting was simply to secure her place in the competition.

He politely declined, saying, "The rain doesn't know when it will stop, and you're still taking your medicine. Don't overdo it. I'm busy."

Just as he was about to hang up, Xi Jia's voice came through again: "I'll call you when I arrive."

There was a long silence on the phone.

Mo Yushen: "Wait for me at the store entrance in an hour."

The call then ended.

Mo Yushen didn't bother Mr. Yue's nephew; he went to the bus stop himself and squeezed onto the scenic area bus.

The rain was still falling intermittently, sometimes heavy and sometimes light.

Xi Jia told the old lady and took an umbrella to go ahead.

Even in the rain, tourists continued to flock to the streets.

As we approached the store, the rain gradually subsided.

Xi Jia closed her umbrella. In front of the store where she had met Mo Yushen that morning, she saw him again, holding a black umbrella and quietly watching her.

Mo Yushen has just arrived.

The Xi Jia in front of me had changed into a casual outfit.

"So fast?" Xi Jia asked as they approached.

Instead of answering, Mo Yushen asked, "What is it that we have to talk about in person?"

Xi Jia smiled and said, "Aren't you going back tomorrow morning? I'll treat you to a trip this evening. The scenery in the mountains is beautiful; consider it a belated honeymoon."

Naturally, she walked under his umbrella and took his arm. "Let's walk along this road. I asked the old lady, and she said the scenery along the way is beautiful."

Mo Yushen followed her and said, "If you want to see the scenery, I'll go with you. But if it's for the sake of the competition, forget it."

Xi Jia understood that he had to consider the club's prospects, as well as the influence of the tour, and could not allow any foreseeable mishaps.

The biggest sponsor of this equestrian tour is the Mo's Group.

If a safety accident were to occur, the company would be the most affected.

After all, he is essentially a businessman.

After Mo Yushen said that, Xi Jia didn't respond. The two strolled leisurely along the mountain path.

Xi Jia had originally been holding Mo Yushen's arm, but later let go and intertwined her fingers with his.

This sudden intimacy caught Mo Yushen off guard and made him feel very uncomfortable.

In the past, the two often put on an act to appease their elders. In public, they would at most link arms, but never hold hands like this.

Palms touching, an indescribable, subtle feeling.

The light rain slanted down, adding a touch of romance.

“Honey, there’s a small waterfall over there.” Xi Jia pulled him over to take a look.

Mo Yushen stopped in his tracks, but Xi Jia couldn't pull him away. She turned around.

"Your eligibility for the competition can be temporarily reserved. You must pass the assessment by the coach I appoint the day before the competition. If you fail, you will be withdrawn from the competition."

In the end, Mo Yushen conceded.

Xi Jia was slightly taken aback, then a faint smile of triumph appeared on her lips. "Then I shall respectfully comply."

After saying that, she immediately let go of his hand and went to look at the waterfall herself.

The warmth of her touch still lingered in my palms and fingertips.

This wasn't the first time Mo Yushen had experienced her betrayal; he was already used to it.

However, the time she called him "husband" was the first time she had addressed him that way since they got married.

Xi Jia had no interest in admiring the scenery; her gaze was fixed on the cascading waterfall, and she was thinking about whether her illness could be cured.

Raindrops fell from the leaves of trees on both sides of the road from time to time, wetting her hair, which she pulled back.

When she is absent-minded and quiet, she exudes a different kind of allure.

Mo Yushen called out to her, "Let's go."

Xi Jia snapped out of her reverie and casually asked, "Where to?"

Mo Yushen looked at her: "Hotel."

Mo Yushen's desires were simple and direct, which Xi Jia understood.

Their last intimate moment was two months ago, and Xi Jia had long forgotten the details of that time.

Upon arriving at the best hotel in the scenic area, Mo Yushen went to the front desk to check in, while Xi Jia went into the supermarket on the first floor of the hotel and directly asked the cashier, "Do you have family planning supplies?"

The cashier was stunned for a moment before she understood the meaning of this subtle word.

"How many do you want?" The cashier turned around and took a few boxes from the shelf inside.

Turns out you can buy by the piece here.

Xi Jia: "Large size, one box."

The cashier looked at the boxes in her hand; none of them were the right size. She put them back and took out another box from the other side.

After paying the bill, Xi Jia put the items in her bag.

Mo Yushen had already checked in at the hotel reception.

Like a couple with a good relationship, Xi Jia naturally put her hand on Mo Yushen's arm as the two took the elevator upstairs.

"I've bought the supplies," Xi Jia said, looking at Mo Yushen's reflection in the elevator door.

"It's in the room."

"It would be such a hassle if the number you use didn't exist."

"..."

I've forgotten everything else, but I remember this so well.

Chapter Four

The suite has two bathrooms, one for each of them.

Mo Yushen came out of the bathroom first. He poured Xi Jia half a glass of juice. She used to drink red wine, but now she was taking medicine and couldn't drink alcohol.

He poured himself a glass of wine.

"Are you going back to Grandpa Yue's place tonight?" Xi Jia asked as she walked over, drying her long hair.

Mo Yushen: "I've already spoken to Grandpa Yue, so I'm not going."

Xi Jia nodded and took a few sips of the juice.

The freshly squeezed juice, without added sugar, has a very mild flavor, but leaves a sweet aftertaste.

No matter how delicious the juice was, Xi Jia only drank a little, then handed the glass to Mo Yushen.

Mo Yushen glanced at her, then took the glass and placed it on the bar.

Xi Jia casually drew the curtains, then looked at Mo Yushen with a half-smile, "I'd like to have a couple more sips of juice."

Her eyes were captivating.

"Can't you take it yourself?"

"I can't reach it."

Mo Yushen didn't give her the juice. He lowered his head and pressed a forceful kiss down on her. His arms around her waist slowly tightened until he pulled her into his embrace.

Although she couldn't remember the details of their past intimate encounters, Xi Jia hadn't forgotten the feeling.

His kiss.

His aura.

It feels a bit long-lost, but not unfamiliar.

Mo Yushen looked at Xi Jia beneath him. Only at this moment would she barely obey, her voice soften, and she would cling to him and act coquettishly, unwilling to let go of him.

——

The next morning, a torrential downpour and fierce winds raged.

The noise outside woke Xi Jia up. Still half asleep, she couldn't even open her eyes. She felt uncomfortable all over after sleeping, and she subconsciously reached for her phone.
