Kapitel 23

Mo Yushen did not express his opinion.

I neither said I would go nor that I wouldn't go.

Ji Qingshi and Mo Yushen had finished eating, but Xi Jia was still drinking soup. This was her second bowl; she rarely ate rice and only loved drinking soup.

"Do you still want it?" Ji Qingshi asked.

Xi Jia shook her head.

Ji Qingshi started clearing the dishes, and Xi Jia helped him. But she didn't really clear them; she just took three pairs of chopsticks to the kitchen.

Mo Yushen went to the living room to make tea.

Ji Qingshi knew that Xi Jia had something to say to him, otherwise he wouldn't have been so diligent.

He said in a low voice, "Go ahead and say it."

Xi Jia turned on the tap and caught the water in her palm.

This water is different from the rainwater in the mountains; it's not as refreshing or gentle as the mountain water.

The kitchen sliding door was closed, and only the quiet flow of water could be heard.

Ji Qingshi looked at his younger sister, "Let me help Mo Yushen?"

Xi Jia: "He doesn't need anyone's help."

Ji Qingshi didn't understand what she meant.

Xi Jia looked up and said, "I won't allow anyone to bully my husband, including you. You can make your money, that's none of my business. Anyway, I've given up all hope that you, this heartless businessman, will ever be charitable. But if you collude with Mo Lian and deliberately set a trap for Mo Yushen, I won't let you off the hook."

Ji Qingshi: "..."

He chuckled.

I was so angry I laughed.

So why does he dote on her?

Ji Qingshi glanced at Mo Yushen in the living room and said to Xi Jia, "That guy outside is even more ruthless than me. Aren't you afraid he'll try to screw me over?"

Xi Jia: "He won't. He's not like you."

Ji Qingshi could only sigh and let out a soft "ha".

Several plates and bowls, the two of them washed for almost twenty minutes and it was still not done.

Mo Yushen had already brewed the tea and had drunk two small cups.

At 11:50, Xi Jia and Ji Qingshi came out of the kitchen.

Mo Yushen stood up. "It's too late, let's go back."

Xi Jia put on her coat, and Ji Qingshi habitually straightened her clothes and buttoned them up. Mo Yushen glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, but quickly looked away.

Ji Qingshi saw them to the door and politely said to Mo Yushen, "If you need any help, just give me a call."

Mo Yushen: "If there's a profitable project, I'll transfer the money to you first."

I directly declined his offer.

Ji Qingshi smiled faintly.

Mo Yushen's arrogance and conceit are exactly the same as Xi Jia's.

When they reached the door, Ji Qingshi suddenly remembered: "I'll have the driver take your car for maintenance tomorrow and then get you a new one."

Xi Jia: "No need to replace it, it's all fixed now. Zhou Mingqian can fix any car, it's fine."

Mo Yushen glanced at Xi Jia.

He couldn't understand Xi Jia's conversation with Ji Qingshi; he felt like an outsider.

Ji Qingshi: "That won't work either." He decided: "I'll get you a new SUV, and the driver will deliver it to you tomorrow morning."

Xi Jia had no choice but to agree. Her second brother was used to being in control, especially towards her.

Once downstairs, Mo Yushen asked, "What happened to the car?"

Xi Jia: "It's nothing, the fuse just came loose. I happened to run into Zhou Mingqian on the road, the famous director, and he fixed it for me. Actually, I didn't need to change cars, my second brother would just make a big deal out of nothing."

Mo Yushen looked at her, "Remember Zhou Mingqian?"

Xi Jia nodded, "Yes. He's a director I admire."

Mo Yushen didn't say anything, opened the car door and got in.

Back home, Xi Jia immediately started taking notes for the day.

Mo Yushen came out of the bathroom; she was still busy.

In the past, when he came out of the shower, she would turn around and call him "husband".

Not today.

All her thoughts were focused on her notebook.

Mo Yushen passed by the workbench and glanced at it.

The left-hand page of the notebook, I remember, was about other things, mostly related to him, just a few words, and the conversations were very simple.

On the right-hand page of the notebook, Xi Jia is writing. The dialogue sections are written in different colored pens. They are all conversations between her and Zhou Mingqian. Not only are there dialogues, but she also wrote down how she repaired the car and what she was thinking. She wrote it down in script form.

The page has reached the bottom line, but it's not finished yet.

Mo Yushen looked at her and said, "If you keep recording things like this, one notebook won't be enough for a whole day's events."

After writing down the car repair details, Xi Jia put a period to it and said, "I won't record the unimportant parts in such detail."

Mo Yushen didn't reply. He glanced at her twice, then walked away and leaned against the headboard to read a book.

Xi Jia put away her notebook, stretched, turned around, and picked up the roses from the coffee table. "Honey, remember to send me more flowers in the future."

Mo Yushen remained silent.

When Xi Jia brought up the equestrian competition, she asked Mo Yushen, "Were you busy that day?" It was a Saturday, so he should be able to make time.

A moment of silence.

Mo Yushen replied in a very indifferent tone: "Busy."

With the Mo family in turmoil, Xi Jia stopped mentioning watching the game.

——

The night before the tour.

Cheng Weiming received a call from Jiang Qin, who had VIP tickets to the equestrian competition and asked if he wanted them.

Cheng Weiming had tried calling Jiang Qin several times in the past few days, but he couldn't get through each time. Finally, the number was unblocked from the blacklist.

He didn't watch these equestrian competitions before, but he started watching them a year ago.

Jiang Qin received no response. "If you don't want to go, then forget it. I'll give it to someone else."

Cheng Weimo still decided: "Let's go."

Jiang Qin's ticket was a gift from the organizer. In order to promote the event, the organizer would invite popular celebrities to attend, and Jiang Qin was among those invited.

After hanging up the phone, Cheng Weiming clapped his hands lightly with his phone, then sent a message to Mo Yushen: "Are you going to watch the game tomorrow?"

After sending it, he immediately added: "[Jiang Qin gave me the vote.]"

Mo Yushen had just come out of the bathroom.

Xi Jia wasn't home; the house was very quiet, and the vibration of a cell phone was clearly audible. Xi Jia was staying at a hotel near the competition venue tonight with the other contestants.

Mo Yushen stared at the message for a long time before finally replying to Cheng Weimo: 【No time, not going.】

Cheng Weiming felt he had made a fuss over nothing. Since they were getting a divorce right after the match, why would Mo Yushen even bother going to watch it?

Cheng Weimo didn't reply to him. Mo Yushen picked up the book and leaned against the headboard to continue reading.

He closed the book before finishing even one page, turned off the light, and went to sleep.

Half an hour later.

Mo Yushen reached for his phone on the bedside table and sent a message to Secretary Ding: "I'll be there for the opening ceremony of the equestrian tour tomorrow morning."

Chapter Fifteen

Secretary Ding felt it was only natural for Mo Yushen to attend the opening ceremony of the tour, since Mo Yushen was one of the club's shareholders.

However, when he left work that evening, Mo Yushen made it clear to him that he would be working overtime the next day and would not be going to the competition venue.

Only a few hours later, he changed his mind.

Mo Yushen has been acting erratically lately, which is puzzling.

Secretary Ding replied: 【Okay, I'll arrange it.】

Mo Yushen: [Remember to bring your camera.]

Secretary Ding: "?"

The reply was: 【Okay.】

Early the next morning.

Secretary Ding went to pick up Mo Yushen, not forgetting to report, "Mr. Mo, I brought the camera."

He pondered all night, not knowing Mo Yushen's purpose in bringing the camera, nor daring to speculate.

After a moment of silence, Mo Yushen said, "Record Xi Jia's competition."

Secretary Ding agreed.

This was the boss's private matter, so he didn't ask any further questions or show any curiosity.

Mo Yushen first glanced out the window, then his gaze shifted to the windshield, and finally looked at Secretary Ding, saying, "Ji Qingshi asked me to record this."

Secretary Ding: "..."

There's no need to explain it to him.
