Kapitel 203

“That’s right, so it’s a trap. The goal is to imprison Daenerys and the dragons in the Hall of Immortality. Because the closer the dragons get to Daenerys, the more powerful their magic becomes. So, they won’t harm Daenerys, they will only try to imprison her. At the same time, this is also my agreement with them.”

Suddenly, Jorah drew his sword.

"You conspired with the warlock to deceive Khaleesi!"

Lu Xuan: "...I clearly told the truth, how did I deceive you?"

Jorah: "..." It seems to make sense, but something is wrong.

"Sir Jorah, let Sir Lu finish speaking. I believe Sir Lu must have his own plans."

“There is indeed one. My direct agreement with the male wizard is that I will persuade you to enter the Hall of Immortality, and in return, I will receive all the savings of the male wizard lineage. I have inspected the goods in advance, and they exceed my expectations.”

"What about Khaleesi? She's gone into the wizard's house, how could she possibly come out unscathed?" Jorah was agitated, as if he were about to kill someone at the slightest provocation.

"Nothing is without risk. This is the riskiest part of the whole plan. Dani, you must keep your promise and enter the Hall of Immortality with your dragon. The warlock will use magic to bewitch you, rendering you powerless and trapped here forever. But remember the most crucial point: dragons can enhance their magic. This is because dragons are magical creatures far more powerful than humans. Dragonfire is the bane of all magic. Understand?"

“I disagree. This is too dangerous. Khaleesi, your dragons are too small. They can’t handle the warlocks.”

"The warlocks aren't as powerful as you think. They've only recovered a small fraction of their strength. Daenerys, as long as you stay true to yourself and don't let them bewitch you, Drogon's dragonfire can easily break through any magic. Of course, if you don't want that, we have other options. Marry a ruler or royalty, then kill him and inherit his fortune. But that will take time..."

"No need to say anything more, I choose to go to the Hall of Immortality. Sir Lu, I believe in you. But I want to know, if I fail to resist the warlock's magic, will you come to my rescue?"

Daenerys stared into Lu Xuan's eyes, clearly determined to get an answer. Lu Xuan gave a helpless smile.

“Alright, Ser Jorah. Watch out, I’m going to take your sword.”

Jorah was startled and instinctively tightened his grip on his sword. Then he saw Lu Xuan actually reach out to grab his sword.

Jorah instinctively drew his sword towards Lu Xuan's right hand. But the instant he swung his sword, his vision blurred. He only felt Lu Xuan's right hand flash, and the next second he had already grabbed his wrist.

Jorah felt an immense force completely suppressing his right hand. With a twist of Lu Xuan's right hand, Jorah felt a sharp pain in his right hand and involuntarily loosened his grip on the sword.

Lu Xuan caught the longsword in mid-air with his right hand. He reversed his grip and slammed the hilt heavily into Jora's jaw. With a thud, Jora fell backward to the ground. Before he could react, the longsword flew from Lu Xuan's hand and pierced Jora's face.

The coldness of the sword brought Jorah back to his senses. The whole process, seemingly complex, actually happened in the blink of an eye. He was defeated before he even realized what had happened. And defeated unarmed.

When Jorah first met Sir Lu, he was half-dead. He lay in bed for two days before regaining consciousness. After that, he was constantly sickly, coughing up blood at the drop of a hat. Jorah never considered him a warrior, even though Lu Xuan always carried a magnificent short spear. Jorah always thought it was just some kind of decoration, because it was too short and completely unsuitable for fighting.

As time went by, Lu Xuan's health seemed to have improved. However, Jora still regarded him as the sickly man he once was. Lu Xuan also never had a conflict with anyone. No one knew that he was a warrior, and a warrior so powerful that Jora didn't even know how to describe him.

Jorah Mormont had once defeated the tournament champions of Westeros and the Blood Oath guards of Khal Drogo. Even though he had aged considerably in recent years, he remained a formidable warrior. He was certain that even if the Sword of the Morning were present, it would be impossible for him to disarm Jorah Mormont and defeat him in a single breath.

This was indeed Lu Xuan's first time making a move in this world. He was still completely unable to mobilize his true energy. His physical strength had only recovered to about 60-70%. However, even so, his speed and strength, combined with hundreds of years of martial arts experience, made him an absolutely invincible being among humans in this world.

Daenerys, standing to the side, was utterly dumbfounded. She had witnessed Khal Drogo's power and felt he might be the strongest man in the world. No matter how strong a warrior, they were utterly powerless before him. But Lu Xuan's performance was beyond his capabilities...

Lu Xuan turned to Dani, who was looking surprised.

"Don't worry, Dani. If you can't get out on your own, I'll go in and get you out."

Jorah, struggling for a long time, finally managed to get up. He stared blankly at Lu Xuan, but didn't object further. He now believed that Lu Xuan could rescue anyone from anywhere.

"I'm sorry, Ser Jorah. There's really no one else here."

"It's alright, I just... you are truly the strongest samurai I have ever seen."

"It's alright, I know a little bit."

Chapter 244 The Male Wizard's Wealth (Seeking monthly votes and subscriptions)

At dawn, there was a knock on the door. Outside stood the male sorcerer Haiya, wearing a fake smile.

"Honorable Stormborn, Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. Some unpleasant things have happened in this city. Your guarantor, Lord Zarro, has been murdered. To ensure your safety, I extend an invitation to you on behalf of the Temple of the Immortals."

Dani subconsciously glanced back at Lu Xuan. Lu Xuan nodded slightly. She felt as if she had received a surge of courage.

"Please wait a moment while I change my clothes."

"Of course, we still have some time."

Qarth is in complete chaos. The royal family, the Tourmaline Brotherhood, and the Ancient Spice Society are all locked in a bitter feud.

In truth, the royal family is currently in a state of utter bewilderment. Their camel cavalry, upon storming into the secret meeting place of the thirteen leaders, discovered that they had already been murdered in the meeting room.

What's worse, at this moment, the Tourmaline Brotherhood and the Ancient Spice Association also arrived. Seeing the scene, they naturally concluded that the royal family had eliminated the Thirteen Giants and was preparing to seize power. This was, of course, intolerable. Although the royal family had declined, if they were allowed to obtain the resources of the Thirteen Giants, the remaining two major merchant guilds would be in serious trouble.

Without a word, they started fighting. Since they were already at each other's throats tonight, they had to settle things once and for all.

In truth, the royal family didn't want to directly wage war against the other two major merchant guilds. Tonight was originally intended to be a covert and precise operation: kill the thirteen giants, plunder as many of their resources as possible before the other two guilds could react, then share some of the spoils to appease them, stabilize the situation, and secretly consolidate their gains. Once everything was settled, they would then settle accounts with the other two guilds.

However, this 'covert operation' was a complete disaster. They were discovered right from the start and forced into a direct confrontation. Fortunately, their inside man proved effective, allowing them to successfully break through the enemy lines. But just as they stormed into the conference room, two other merchant guilds arrived with thousands of mercenaries. They were only a dozen minutes later than them...

Completely unprepared, with corpses right before their eyes, the royal family felt utterly helpless, unable to explain themselves. They had no choice but to face the challenge head-on.

They weren't panicked, knowing it was impossible for it to be a truly life-or-death struggle. The disparity in strength between them wasn't significant. This battle was primarily about dividing the wealth and resources of the thirteen powerful figures, a contest for a share. Even if they didn't want to fight, they had no choice but to grit their teeth and accept it.

Meanwhile, Lu Xuan and the others had already arrived at the Hall of Immortality.

From the outside, the Temple of the Immortal appears as a gray, ancient ruin. Long and low, without towers or windows, it resembles a giant stone serpent coiled within a forest of black-barked trees. The trees in the forest have deep blue leaves, from which the Qarthians make their magical drink, known as "Water of Nightshade." Black tiles cover the temple's roof, many of them fallen or broken, and the mortar between the stones is mostly dry and cracked.

The dilapidated buildings bear witness to the decline of the sorcerer's history. Yet, at the same time, a subtle aura permeates the place, a feeling of magic surrounding it. Although Lu Xuan cannot use his own power, his senses remain. He clearly senses a much denser magical energy here than elsewhere. The Temple of Immortality, being the core of the sorcerer's domain, must possess something special.

Paiya stood at the door and gestured for Daenerys to come in. Daenerys glanced back at Lu Xuan, then calmly walked into the Hall of Immortality, while the three little dragons folded their wings and perched on her shoulders and in her arms.

Seeing Daenerys enter the Hall of Immortality, Lu Xuan turned to look at Pai Ya.
