Chapter 192

Su Jinning clenched her fists and stiffly stepped into the house, feeling a chill run through her body.

He asked, unconvinced, "Don't you know where he went?"

"He didn't tell me."

"Okay, thank you, Auntie." Su Jinning forced a smile and left the living room, sitting down at her desk in the bedroom.

Last night he said he would distance himself from her, but today he rushed out with Zhou Xingqi without even calling him.

"Maybe... something really has happened." Su Jinning comforted herself, and took out her phone to call him. But no matter how many times she called, Shen Moyu's phone remained switched off.

He didn't know whether he should be anxious or angry, but he couldn't blindly go down to look for him. If something really happened, why should he go looking for him like he was being unreasonable?

He leaned back in his chair and thought, "I'll wait a little longer."

A friend said they wanted me to update daily, so I'll update daily for two days in a row. Mainly because I'm too lazy.

Chapter 79 Drunkenness

In the hospital corridor, Zhou Xingqi groaned, clutching his ankle wrapped in bandages, repeatedly saying, "It hurts so much!" Passersby stared at him strangely, some even thinking he had some terminal illness.

Shen Moyu couldn't stand it any longer and reached out to pinch his ear: "If you want to die, just do it quickly, don't sit here and embarrass yourself."

Zhou Xingqi was already wincing in pain, and his brother's words made him even angrier: "Brother! I'm injured, and you're still criticizing me!"

Shen Moyu watched him angrily turn back, arms crossed, no longer complaining of pain or paying him any attention, and couldn't help but laugh. He was, after all, just a fifteen-year-old boy; everything he did was childish.

The hospital corridor was bustling with people, and the smell of medicine was strong, which Shen Moyu disliked. He glanced at the clock on the wall and felt a little anxious.

He had clearly agreed to study with Su Jinning today, but this suddenly happened. He was in such a hurry that he didn't even have time to bring his phone. He wondered if Su Jinning would be worried or angry if she didn't know the news.

"How much longer until your friend arrives? I have to go back," Shen Moyu said.

"What friend?" Zhou Xingqi didn't react for a moment.

"The guy you were on the phone in the taxi, didn't you say he was coming to pick you up later?" Shen Moyu was so anxious that she was gesturing wildly.

Zhou didn't answer him, but instead started to morally blackmail him: "What, bro? Do you hate taking care of me here?" After he finished speaking, he winked tactically, making people's eyes hurt.

Shen Moyu frowned helplessly: "No, it's just..." He wanted to explain what happened, but after all, the other person was injured, and as a longtime friend, he couldn't just abandon him and go home to spend time with his boyfriend.

It's somewhat heartless, ungrateful, and shameless.

"Never mind, let me borrow your phone to make a call," Shen Moyu said, reaching out her hand.

Zhou Xingqi looked at him, puzzled, then lowered his head and touched his pocket. He was shocked by what he found: "Damn!"

Shen Moyu's face darkened; he'd probably already guessed. The two of them had gotten out of the car in such a hurry that they'd likely left it in the taxi. He closed his eyes in a defiant manner. "Whatever, let's wait for your friend to arrive."

He begged Su Jinning to wait for him a little longer, or at least not to be angry.

Finally, after 81 minutes, the so-called friend that Zhou Xingqi had mentioned finally arrived.

But it wasn't Zhou Xingqi who reminded him; it was his friend who was so brilliant that Shen Moyu guessed it at a glance based on his description.

The boy appeared to be of mixed race; his medium-length, jet-black hair exuded an artistic air, and his deep, alluring face held a faint smile. His pupils were a clear, deep blue, yet upon closer inspection, a hint of mystery could be discerned. He wore a clean white hoodie, and his demeanor was poised and elegant, possessing a captivating blend of Eastern and Western charm—a beauty that defied easy categorization as male or female. "Hi!"

Shen Moyu had never seen such a beautiful boy before. Although he was about the same age as Zhou Xingqi, he seemed very mature.

"Oh hi."

The boy laughed heartily and said, "Hey buddy, I'm Zhou Xingqi's friend, just call me Jiehe."

"……"

Listening to his thick, perfectly enunciated Northeastern accent, complete with his artistic face, Shen Moyu couldn't help but want to exclaim "Holy crap!"

Zhou Xingqi rolled his eyes and corrected him logically, "What 'bro'? You have to call me 'brother'!"

Shen Moyu raised an eyebrow at Zhou Xingqi, not for any other reason than to say: Your friend's face paired with Northeastern accent is really jarring...

Jerhe scratched his head and smiled apologetically, "Then I definitely have to call you 'brother'."

Shen Moyu snapped out of her thoughts and smiled, saying, "You're too kind. My name is Shen Moyu."

Jiehe nodded politely, then walked past him to Zhou Xingqi, squatted down to examine his ankle: "Such a serious injury?"

Seeing the worry in his eyes, Zhou Xingqi felt like the sun had risen in the west.

But less than two seconds later, Jeremiah laughed: "Little cripple."

"You damn long-haired bastard!"

"Who the hell are you yelling at? You can't even walk straight, you're incredibly clumsy."

"Go to hell and shut up your thick Northeastern accent, I can't understand a word you say!"

"You don't understand, do you! Идикчерту, ты вонючаясвинья!" (Go to hell, you stinking pig!)

"No Russian allowed either!! You jerk!!"

Then, the two of them started hurling insults at each other in Chinese, English, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and Cantonese. Regardless of whether the other person understood or not, the insults they were hurling were definitely not pleasant.

Not to mention the passersby, they were all utterly bewildered.

Shen Moyu, acting as a peacemaker, pulled the two apart and said in a hoarse voice, "This is a hospital, please behave yourselves!"

Upon hearing this, the two men covered their mouths.

Shen Moyu finally understood. These weren't friends at all; it was purely a grudge from a past life that hadn't been settled. Every wrong has its perpetrator, and every debt has its debtor. The two of them were entangled again in this life.

He admitted that the two of them knew quite a few languages.
