Su Jinning, with a cold face, unbuttoned his collar without even lifting her eyelids: "Taking a cold shower will make you catch a cold."
He tried his best to remain rational and reason with Shen Moyu. Even if he was angry today and couldn't bear to see him leave him to drink with other men, he didn't want to hold it against him because he was drunk.
Unexpectedly, Shen Moyu was not cooperative at all. As the two struggled, they fell into the bathtub together, causing a large splash of water that landed on the floor, leaving the entire bathroom in a mess.
Shen Moyu fell down, the back of his head hitting the edge of the bathtub. The shock made his already dizzy head spin and he saw double for a moment.
"Let me see where you fell?" Su Jinning propped herself up from the bathtub to help Shen Moyu's head, gently rubbing it: "Does it hurt?"
Shen Moyu took a breath, opened his eyes and looked at the worry on Su Jinning's face, then shook his head.
From that phone call onwards, Su Jinning was a man of few words, neither laughing nor making a fuss. Having been together for so long, he had long since figured out Su Jinning's thoughts. Whenever he was angry or upset, he would never show it on his face, nor would he tell anyone. He would just bottle it up and hold it in until the day it exploded.
He was also most afraid of Su Jinning being like this.
"Brother Ning." Shen Moyu wasn't sure if the bump had woken him up. He suddenly sat up and touched Su Jinning's wet hand: "Are you angry?"
Hot water splashed everywhere, and the entire bathroom was covered in hot and humid air. Su Jinning stared blankly at Shen Moyu's misty eyes. He pursed his lips slightly as if afraid of being blamed, and carefully rubbed the back of his hands. His hair was half wet and hung down by his ears, shining slightly under the bright bathroom lights.
"I'm not angry." Su Jinning couldn't shake her bad habit and quickly withdrew her hand, getting up as if nothing had happened.
"Wait a minute." Shen Moyu grabbed his soaked clothes and pulled him halfway back.
Their cheeks were less than an inch apart, and Shen Moyu's slightly alcoholic scent filled the air, instantly turning his face red.
He remained composed and bowed, saying, "Let go, I need to change my clothes. I'm soaked."
"Then let it get soaked." Shen Moyu ignored the advice and pulled it down again.
The slightly hot water soaked through their entire bodies. Separated only by two insignificant layers of fabric, Su Jinning could clearly feel the other's temperature and heartbeat.
"I called you today, and I know you must be angry." Shen Moyu lowered her head, blinking nervously. Her eyelashes were wet and clumped together, but the curled shape was still beautiful.
Su Jinning got up and sat on the edge of the bathtub. Looking at the person huddled in the bathtub, she sighed helplessly. It seemed that no matter how big a mistake Shen Moyu made, as long as he bowed his head and admitted his mistake, she would have no reason to be angry anymore.
"So why did you still drink with him?" Su Jinning asked gently, as if they were having a casual conversation.
Su Jinning used "he" instead of "they," and he only asked why Zhou Xingqi was drinking with him. He didn't care about Shen Moyu leaving without saying goodbye earlier; he knew Shen Moyu had his reasons. But he had waited for him all day, only to have his boyfriend brought home drunk by someone else. How could a normal person feel at ease thinking nothing was wrong? To be honest, he really wanted to tear Zhou Xingqi to pieces at that moment.
Shen Moyu was silent for a moment, then said, "I couldn't refuse, and I didn't expect the alcohol to be so strong."
He was telling the truth, but he always seemed to lack confidence when he said it.
Because he really didn't know how to explain it.
“You’re not stupid, don’t tell me you didn’t realize he’s interested in you,” Su Jinning said crisply.
Shen Moyu was immediately silenced.
How could he not see it? So many years have passed, and although he couldn't explain why the boy liked him, anyone could see through the kid's words and actions.
But he's still just a child. If he doesn't say anything, I certainly can't just refuse him directly, because that would be too hurtful.
Su Jinning said nothing more, got up and wrung out the water from her clothes: "Wake me up after you shower, I'll clean up."
"Where are you going?" Shen Moyu asked, clinging to the bathtub.
Su Jinning unbuttoned her pajamas: "Change your clothes."
The bathroom door closed, and a blast of cold air instantly filled the bathroom. Shen Moyu lowered his head in disappointment, and without even taking off his clothes, he buried himself completely in the water tank, seemingly angry with someone.
The weather has really turned cool. Su Jinning has put away his old short-sleeved shirts in the closet. Now he just pulls out some shirts and blouses. He randomly picked out a shirt that looked about the same size as Shen Moyu's and hung it on the bathroom door. Then he took a change of pajamas and put them on.
As soon as he stepped out of the living room, he heard a click at the door, and Su Yi returned carrying his briefcase.
"Dad?" Su Jinning exclaimed in surprise.
Su Yi replied, "Ah, I came back to get some documents and stuff." With that, he put down his briefcase and went upstairs. He was in such a hurry that he didn't even have time to give Su Jinning a glance.
Su Jinning had guessed as much; the company had been very busy lately, and Su Yi was lucky to come home three times a month, and even then, he didn't always stay overnight. He usually just came to pick up clothes or documents. He shrugged and sat down on the living room sofa to rest with his eyes closed.
A few minutes later, Su Yi came downstairs. Su Jinning opened her eyes upon hearing the sound and asked, "Dad, are you in a hurry to leave?"
"Oh, no. I had two changes of clothes that I wanted to give to your Aunt Cui, but I saw she was asleep." Su Yi still had the clothes she had just taken off draped over her arm.
"Aunt Cui usually goes to bed around eight o'clock. You can leave it here; I'll talk to her about it tomorrow morning."
Su Yi nodded, and was about to turn around when he remembered something. "Oh right, was your friend in that car at the door just now?"
Su Jinning paused for a moment, then nodded.
Su Yi frowned and asked uncertainly, "Is that friend named Zhou Xingqi?"
Su Jinning was stunned. Before he could react, Su Yi patted his chest and said with some surprise, "I didn't expect you two to know each other."
Su Jinning looked at him in shock. "Dad, you two know each other?" he asked incredulously.
Su Yi was taken aback: "Ah, I know him. I know his father."
"His father?"
"Yeah, we've collaborated a few times and have a good relationship. I heard this kid is studying in the US, and he's incredibly talented." Su Yi glanced at the front door without realizing it.
Su Jinning felt that the world was a small place.
Is the son of his father's friend Zhou Xingqi? That brat who's always pestering Shen Moyu, calling him "brother, brother"?
Oh shit.
As if he felt he hadn't praised enough, Su Yi clicked his tongue and added, "But then again, Shen Donghai's son is naturally outstanding."
Shen Donghai?!
Su Jinning looked up again as if he had been electrocuted. He was completely unable to react now, like a system that had crashed and could not process too much information at once.
He double-checked to make sure he hadn't misheard, and it took him a while to find his voice: "Shen Donghai?!" he exclaimed, then said haltingly, "His son??"
