Chapitre 4

The principal didn't comb her hair today: My crush got divorced, but it turns out he's gay. Should I get surgery? [laughing emoji]

Yang Wei chuckled softly, her head resting on the table. She had registered Qi Xiaoyan's Weibo account and even followed everyone he followed for him. Suppressing her laughter, she replied to Qi Xiaoyan with a message: "I didn't say that. What you saw is entirely based on her imagination. Besides, she only mentioned 'male god,' and you automatically projected yourself onto her. Is your face really that big?"

After the message was sent, it disappeared without a trace. Yang Wei wondered if Qi Xiaoyan had gotten so angry that he deleted his Weibo account. But did he really know how to delete a Weibo account? Hahaha.

She took a bite of bacon fried rice and liked Teacher Yao's Weibo post.

Want to hook up?

The afternoon classes started at 2 p.m., but Yang Wei slept until 1:50 p.m. because she stayed up late reading novels last night.

She rubbed her hands, which were a little numb from pressing them, patted her face a few times, and then gathered up the teaching materials on her desk and left the office. When she reached the door of the fifth-grade, second-class classroom, she took a breath, smiled, and stepped through the front door.

As soon as she entered, the student on duty shouted energetically, "Stand up!"

The students stood up in unison: "Hello, teacher!"

"Hello, students." Yang Wei asked everyone to sit down and began her lesson with a smile. "Today we're going to learn about shapes. Before we start, let's understand what 'shape' means." She picked up a few fruit models from the table and began to explain the shapes of objects to everyone.

Sitting in the last row, Liang Minghao secretly took out his phone from his desk and sent a WeChat message to his uncle: "Our art teacher is talking about things that only elementary school students would listen to again."

Two minutes later, the other party replied: "I remember you were a primary school student."

Liang Minghao: "I am a primary school student who has been learning sketching for two years."

Uncle: "What I'm more concerned about is that you guys are allowed to use your phones during class?"

“Theoretically, it’s not possible…” Liang Minghao had just typed those words and hadn’t sent them when he saw Yang Wei looking in his direction. He put his phone in his bag, smiled at Yang Wei, and Yang Wei smiled back at him while continuing her lecture.

After Yang Wei looked away, Liang Minghao took out his phone again, deleted the previous sentence, and re-edited a message and sent it: "But our teacher is very beautiful, like Song Jin."

Uncle: "Who is Song Jin?"

Liang Minghao: "You don't even recognize Song Jin?!"

He was shocked when he sent the WeChat message, only to find that Yang Wei was already standing in front of him.

Yang Wei looked down at him with a faint smile on her face: "Liang Minghao, you can't use your phone during class."

Liang Minghao put away his phone and said to Yang Wei with a forced smile, "I'm sorry, Teacher Yang, I won't dare to do it again."

Yang Wei smiled and nodded, then turned and walked towards the podium. Liang Minghao propped his art book up on the desk and took out his phone.

"Now that we understand the diversity and unity of shapes, let's try using different shapes to create a composition..." Yang Wei stood on the podium and glanced in Liang Minghao's direction. Heh heh heh, you think I can't tell you're playing on your phone just because you've propped the book up on the table?!

She took a breath and kept smiling: "Before we can compose the shot, we need to make our own viewfinder."

As the whole class raised their hands to follow Yang Wei's framing, Liang Minghao finally received a reply from his uncle, this time a voice message. He twitched his lips, rummaged through his bag for earphones, and plugged in his phone.

"I just returned to China."

The thoughtful Liang Minghao searched for a picture of Song Jin for him and sent it along with a text: "The new generation of otaku goddess, the female lead of 'Painting Soul,' and the currently popular 'Youthful Days.' She also stars in it."

Not long after, his uncle's voice message arrived again. Just as Liang Minghao opened it, his earphone was yanked out, the force so great that the connector was pulled directly out of the phone. His uncle's clear, pleasant voice then rang out in the classroom.

"Are your teachers in good shape?"

Liang Minghao: "..."

He looked at Yang Wei in front of him and forced a dry smile: "Hehe, he's talking about Mr. Luo, the math teacher."

Yang Wei smiled at him with pursed lips, grabbed his phone from his desk, turned around and walked back to the podium: "Liang Minghao, don't leave after school today."

Liang Minghao: "..."

After Yang Wei finished explaining the lesson plan, she let everyone practice composition on their own. She glanced at the phone lying on the table; it was the latest model from MiTao, even more advanced than hers. Meanwhile, Liang Minghao pulled another phone from his bag—a simple candybar phone. He typed a text message, addressed to his uncle: "Our teacher wants to see you after school."

Uncle: "No thanks."

Liang Minghao was still editing the text message when his uncle's reply came: "I guess your Peach 10 was just confiscated."

Liang Minghao: "..."

After class, Yang Wei packed up her presentation slides, held them in one arm, and walked out of the classroom. Once outside, her smile faded, and she rubbed her cheek. Her smile had made her cheeks a little sore…

I ran into Teacher Yao at the office door. When Teacher Yao saw the peach-shaped phone in my hand, she said with envy, "I bet it belongs to Liang Minghao. His family is really rich."

Yang Wei walked back to her seat and took a sip of water to moisten her throat. Teacher Yao stood next to her, picked up the Peach phone and examined it for a while: "What features does this have compared to the 9?"

Yang Wei said in a serious tone, "I heard that the fingerprint recognition function will automatically dial the police station as long as someone other than the owner touches it."

Teacher Yao: "..."

She awkwardly put down her phone and went to prepare for the next class.

Yang Wei has finished all her classes for the day and is seriously considering whether to sit here and wait until she gets off work, or to prepare for tomorrow's classes in advance.

Then she thought about getting off work.

The students on duty stayed in the classroom to clean, while Yang Wei dragged Liang Minghao into the office to wait for his parents to arrive.

Ms. Dai, the Chinese teacher at the opposite table, was also scolding her students. Yang Wei listened as she went from "whether or not it is right to throw erasers at classmates" to "Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize in Literature." Finally, a parent hurriedly walked in from outside the door.

Unfortunately, it was the parent of the student on the other side.

As soon as the parents saw their dejected children being scolded, they took the initiative to apologize to Teacher Dai: "Teacher Ka, I'm sorry, my child has caused you trouble again!"

"Pfft!" Yang Wei almost spat out the water in her mouth, but managed to hold back her laughter. However, Liang Minghao, who was standing next to her, was already laughing so hard he couldn't catch his breath.

Ms. Dai's face flushed red as she corrected the parent, "My surname is Dai!"

Even the child who had just been scolded couldn't help but laugh.

Teacher Dai's surname is indeed Dai, but because she's quite overweight, the students worry she'll get stuck in the classroom door every time she passes through, so they gave her the nickname "Stuck-in-the-Door." The kids call her "Stuck-in-the-Door" all the time, leading many parents who don't know the truth to believe her real surname is "Stuck."

The parents apologized to Teacher Dai with embarrassed expressions. Teacher Dai then criticized and educated them for a few more words, and told the child to go home and write an 800-word self-criticism before letting them go. As she packed her things to leave work, she glanced at Yang Wei across from her: "When I first graduated, I also hoped to become a young, beautiful, and likable teacher, but do such people really exist? Even if they do, they must be hypocritical."

As Teacher Yao was about to leave, she secretly approached Yang Wei and whispered in her ear, "I feel like she's making veiled criticisms."

Yang Wei shrugged, pretending not to understand.

Teacher Yao picked up her handbag and went out, with Teacher Dai following behind her, also preparing to leave. Just as she turned around, she saw another man enter through the door.

The man was very tall, at least 1.8 meters, wearing a meticulously ironed white shirt with the collar casually open. Soft black hair lazily covered his forehead, and his captivating eyes held a faint smile. In that instant, Teacher Dai felt her long-dormant girlish heart had been struck.

The newcomer also saw Teacher Dai in front of him. He considered for two seconds, then smiled charmingly and said, "You must be Teacher Ka. Hello."

"Pfft, hahaha!" Liang Minghao laughed even harder this time, and even Yang Wei couldn't help but laugh out loud.

A gentle breeze blew in through the window, and Yang Wei's flaxen hair swayed lightly in the sunlight.

The man at the door was momentarily stunned.

Teacher Dai finally lost her temper and shouted, "My surname is Dai!"

A hush fell over the room. Teacher Dai angrily pushed the man aside and stormed out. Yang Wei coughed and stood up from her seat: "You're Liang Minghao's...father?"

The man smiled warmly and walked up to her: "I am Hao Hao's uncle, Fang Chengran. His parents are away on a business trip abroad, so I will be taking care of him for the time being."

Liang Minghao glanced up at him but didn't say anything.

"Oh, I see." Yang Wei nodded thoughtfully. The pleasant tone of her voice and the subtle flippancy in her tone were exactly the same as the voice on the phone earlier. She chuckled inwardly. The other person replied matter-of-factly, "Hello Mr. Fang, my surname is Yang, and I am the substitute homeroom teacher of Class 2, Grade 5."

"Hello, Teacher Yang." Fang Chengran smiled and extended his right hand to Yang Wei, who shook it symbolically.

Liang Minghao kept his head down, seemingly lost in thought. Yang Wei nudged the peach-shaped phone on the table, and Liang Minghao replied, "School rules prohibit bringing phones into the classroom, but considering that some parents are worried about what might happen to their children at school and not being able to contact them, we are relatively lenient in enforcing the rules. However, this does not mean that students can use their phones during class. Although it was just an art class, his attitude towards learning was still not proper."

Fang Chengran nodded, agreeing with her: "Teacher Yang is right. I will give him a good talking-to when I get back."

Yang Wei smiled and looked at him, saying, "Especially since the people he was chatting with were discussing very vulgar topics."

Fang Chengran: "..."

He looked down at Liang Minghao and asked seriously, "Who were you talking to just now?"

Liang Minghao said, "Uncle."

Fang Chengran gave him a sly look, then looked up at Yang Wei and said, "It must be his maternal uncle. He's such a rascal."

Yang Wei chuckled and said, "I'll let it go this time. But if he plays on his phone in class again next time, we'll confiscate it and only return it to him at the end of the semester. Besides, it's a real hassle if a student loses such an expensive phone when he brings it to school."

"I understand. From now on, I'll only let him use the candybar phone. I'm sorry for causing trouble for Teacher Yang." Fang Chengran's smile was even warmer than the sunlight outside the window. Liang Minghao curled his lips and scoffed inwardly.

"Okay, that's all for today." Yang Wei glanced at the time; it was almost five o'clock, and she wanted to leave work early.

Fang Chengran said goodbye to her, pulled Liang Minghao a few steps outside, then suddenly turned back and asked, "Teacher Yang, if I may ask, is your full name Yang Wei?"

negative score

Yang Wei glanced at him with some surprise, racking her brain to recall if she really knew such a handsome guy, before asking in confusion, "Do we know each other?"

A hint of joy flashed in Fang Chengran's eyes, and he took a step toward her with some excitement: "Don't you remember me? We were elementary school classmates, and there were only two Chinese people in our class back then."

Yang Wei was taken aback. She hadn't actually attended elementary school in China. Her father had been sent to the head office for work, and she and her mother had gone with him, staying there until she graduated from elementary school. There were two Chinese students in her class, so the teacher made sure they sat next to each other, and they got along very well. She ran the name Fang Chengran through her mind, finally matching his face with the image of the little boy she remembered: "Ah, you're Fang Chengran!"

"It's me! It's me!" Fang Chengran was so happy he wanted to hug her. "I didn't expect to see you here. You've become more and more beautiful!"

"You've grown more and more handsome!" After complimenting each other, Yang Wei asked curiously, "When did you return to China?"

Fang Chengran said, "I just got back last month."

Liang Minghao stared at them blankly, then tugged at Fang Chengran's arm: "Do you really know Teacher Yang? You don't want to pursue her just because she's pretty, do you?"

Fang Chengran read his unspoken message from his micro-expressions, smiled at him, and said, "I still have the photos from back then. Would you like to see them?"

“Okay,” Liang Minghao readily agreed.

Fang Chengran gave him a slight smirk, then heard Yang Wei ask from across the room, "Fang Chengran, what are you doing right now?"

Fang Chengran paused for a moment, then turned back to look calmly at Yang Wei: "I am the director of the front office and housekeeping departments at the Dingou Hotel."

Liang Minghao stared at him with wide eyes, his gaze clearly saying, "You're shameless."

The Dingou Hotel is the largest hotel in City A. Yang Wei had heard that Liang Minghao's family was in the hotel industry, but she didn't expect it to be the famous Dingou Hotel. Looking at Fang Chengran, she said with some admiration, "You're doing quite well!"

"Hehe, it's nothing special." Fang Chengran smiled modestly. The chairman of the hotel was his father, and the CEO was his sister.

However, this kind of thing is not worth mentioning.

He looked at Yang Wei, a slow smile spreading across his lips: "I didn't prepare anything today. How about I treat you to dinner another day?"
