Глава 14

Ji Mingshu instinctively wanted to say, "He's not my boss, why would I report to him?" But in order not to shatter the little goose's last hope for a happy marriage, she gave a perfunctory "hmm" and opened WeChat again.

Ji Mingshu and Cen Sen's chat history was still stuck on their last round of compliments.

Jiang Chun glanced at him, not seeing the whole thing, and exclaimed with a mixture of surprise and envy, "I never knew your husband was so eloquent."

Ji Mingshu: "..."

She thought about it and realized that if she directly followed Jiang Chun's suggestion and reported to Cen Sen that she hadn't returned yet, Cen Sen's thought process would probably make him think that her sudden report was an implication that he had been kidnapped.

Let's talk about something before getting to the main topic.

She remembered the noodles Cen Sen cooked and had an idea.

Ji Mingshu: [What kind of duck did we have tonight?]

After sending the message, Ji Mingshu admired it herself. It was good; a very normal conversation that didn't make her seem unnecessarily enthusiastic. Moreover, her cute tone would give Jiang Chun the illusion that "our relationship as husband and wife is really good."

About three minutes later, Cen Sen actually replied to her message.

Cen Sen: [Didn't eat duck.]

Upon seeing this message, Jiang Chun's eyes lit up with hearts as she exclaimed, "Your husband is so cute! I never knew he was like this in private. You really can't tell he's gay."

She quickly nudged Ji Mingshu and urged, "He said he hasn't eaten anything, he must want you to comfort him, hurry up and say something!"

Ji Mingshu felt a chill run down her spine, as if Cen Sen's cuteness tonight was akin to being hacked.

The next second, a new message came in on WeChat.

Cen Sen: [Eating bamboo shoots.]

Jiang Chun & Ji Mingshu: "..."

The ugly room was silent as the two of them went through a series of psychological processes, from being completely confused to vaguely understanding something, and then to suddenly realizing the truth.

After a three-second eye contact, Ji Mingshu saw in Jiang Chun's eyes two complex emotions: "Don't call me unsophisticated anymore, your husband is even more unsophisticated than me" and "Doesn't your husband's job require internet access?"

Sorry to bother you.

Tonight there's a business dinner with our Japanese partners. Half the dishes were adapted to local tastes, and the other half were chosen to suit their preferences. Cen Sen didn't really like any of them, except for the braised bamboo shoots, which he ate a few times.

The social gathering ended late at night, the cold wind dispelling most of the effects of the alcohol, and there were no stars in the night sky.

When Cen Sen got home, he found that Ji Mingshu had already returned.

Earlier, after receiving a message from Ji Mingshu, he had asked Zhou Jiaheng where his wife was that night.

Zhou Jiaheng said she went to Zhang Lin's birthday party that night, and then went to Jiang Chun's apartment.

Cen Sen thought that Ji Mingshu, a party animal, wouldn't be coming back tonight.

Ji Mingshu originally didn't plan to go back, but firstly, Jiang Chun's apartment was so ugly that it was hard to sleep, and secondly, she had finally found a weakness in Cen Sen and planned to come back and wait for him to come back so she could mock him properly.

Who would have thought that after taking a shower, I would lie in bed reading a novel and fall asleep without realizing it.

Cen Sen glanced at her but ignored her.

After he finished showering, Ji Mingshu had already changed his position and taken over the bed space, but he was still holding his phone tightly in his hand.

He walked to the bedside, easily picked up Ji Mingshu, and positioned her in a proper position, then tried to take the phone out of her hand.

Ji Mingshu woke up at that moment.

She opened her eyes drowsily, glanced at Cen Sen, then at the time on the screen; she wasn't fully awake. She turned over and went back to sleep.

As she turned over, she automatically released her phone, and inadvertently unlocked the phone's facial recognition when she opened her eyes.

When it reached Cen Sen's hands, the screen was just set to her Weibo page before she went to sleep.

To be precise, it's not the Weibo interface, but rather the novel advertisement interface pushed by Weibo.

Cen Sen glanced at it.

"When Shangguan Haoran removed Mu Ziwei's corneas and kidneys, Mu Ziwei's heart died. Three years later, Mu Ziwei returned to B City, originally only wanting to live a peaceful life. But the cold, ruthless, and heartless imperial commander held her tightly again, 'Woman, trying to escape? You'll never escape my grasp in this lifetime.' Mu Ziwei's eyes were filled with fear, 'Isn't taking my corneas and kidneys enough?' 'Not enough, I want your heart…'"

Cen Sen paused, seemingly lost in thought, and then clicked on the first image to browse through it.

Ji Mingshu seemed to be sleeping restlessly. He had just turned over, but a moment later he turned back over. He was wrapped tightly in the blanket, with his bare arms exposed, covering his heart.

Cen Sen: "..."

Chapter 14

The night was quiet, and the moonlight shone on the lake, creating a gentle glow.

Mingshui Mansion is located in the center of the lake, surrounded by lush greenery, which rustles in the wind.

Ji Mingshu had a very bad dream.

The dream kept haunting her, and she couldn't shake it off. She even knew she was dreaming, but her eyelids felt like they had been stitched shut, and she just couldn't open them.

At six o'clock in the morning, the sky was just beginning to lighten.

Ji Mingshu finally woke up from his dream.

Her silk nightgown was soaked with cold sweat, the smoky pink on the back of her dress had deepened in color, and there was a faint sheen of sweat on her neck and chin.

She stared blankly at the ceiling, her eyes wide open. A few seconds later, she moved her fingers and touched her heart.

Thump, thump.

They jumped with great enthusiasm.

It's still there, it's still there, thankfully it's still there.

As consciousness returned, Ji Mingshu grabbed half of the pillow, folded it upwards, and covered her face.

She shouldn't have read those novels about ripping out kidneys and hearts last night. In her sleep, she actually imagined a bizarre story where Cen Sen ripped out her ex-girlfriend's heart and kidneys to cure her illness.

Looking back now, dreams are illogical. If her heart had been dug out first, she would have died. How could she have survived while someone else harvested her kidneys? Besides, if Cen Sen dared to harvest her organs to treat that green tea girl, wouldn't she have dug up their Cen family's ancestral graves first?

But then again, Cen Sen in the dream was really terrifying. He even wore a white coat and gold-rimmed glasses and personally took part in the scene. He must be a pervert.

Ji Mingshu turned to look at Cen Sen, then subconsciously moved to the side.

Seeing that Cen Sen was breathing evenly and looked like he was fast asleep, Ji Mingshu, for some reason, became bolder again. She quietly moved closer, reached out her small hand, and suddenly slapped him across the face.

"Smack."

This slap was very light, just a light tap, completely incomparable to the slap I gave someone at their birthday party last night.

After filming, Ji Mingshu planned to retreat.

Even with his eyes closed, Ke Censen still managed to grasp her wrist bone accurately.

"What do you want?" His voice was low, as if he had been sleeping.

"You, you're awake... There's something dirty inside."

Ji Mingshu was stunned, completely bewildered as to why this scoundrel of a man had suddenly woken up. Her heart raced with fright, and she could barely speak coherently.

Cen Sen slowly opened his eyes, turned his head to look at her, and asked calmly, "What dirty thing?"

"..."

Ji Mingshu struggled with his hands, but couldn't break free.

She simply and frankly said, "I dreamt that you took out my kidney, and I didn't sleep well all night. What's wrong with hitting you?"

Cen Sen: "..."

He loosened his grip slightly, and Ji Mingshu promptly withdrew his hand, even pretending to cover his kidney, trying to prove that he wasn't talking nonsense.

Cen Sen glanced at it. "That's the stomach."

Ji Mingshu paused, then immediately switched sides. But he quickly realized something was wrong. Don't people have kidneys on both sides? What does that have to do with which side?

She was confused too, touching herself left and right, but she just couldn't remember exactly where the kidney was located.

In the end, she simply clutched her heart and declared vehemently, "You not only ripped out my kidneys, you also ripped out my heart! How could you be so perverted in my dreams!"

"Didn't they remove your cornea?"

Cen Sen scoffed.

...?

Ji Mingshu's mind went blank for a moment, and he immediately sat up and fumbled for his phone.

It wasn't on the cabinet, nor under the pillow. Looking up, I found it on Cen Sen's bedside table.

"Are you a pervert? You're spying on my phone! Do you know that's an invasion of privacy?!" Ji Mingshu was furious and grabbed a pillow to hit him.

"Then I've violated many things."

Cen Sen turned slightly to the side, his gaze lingering on her chest for a moment.

Ji Mingshu's vision went black.

If it weren't for the clear prenuptial agreement regarding the division of assets, she would probably want to smother Cen Sen with a pillow and inherit his enormous fortune directly.

After arguing so loudly in bed so early in the morning, Ji Mingshu was in no mood to catch up on sleep. She got up, washed and dressed, and deliberately made a lot of noise so that Cen Sen could no longer fall asleep peacefully.

Once Cen Sen was woken up by the noise and got out of bed, she tossed her hair and went out with a flourish.

This whole thing initially put her in a good mood, but when she opened WeChat to find someone to hang out with, she remembered that she had some leverage over Cen Sen that she hadn't used yet, and she got angry again.

Unwilling to give up, she searched online and then sent Cen Sen a screenshot.

When Cen Sen saw the screenshot, he was already sitting in the back seat of the car.

The screenshot contains an online explanation: "When used as a modal particle, 'duck' replaces 'ya' to express a simple tendency to act cute... The emotion expressed is similar to acting coquettishly and cutely, hoping to leave the other person with an impression of being adorable and childish..."

Ji Mingshu: [President Cen, can you spend more time online instead of staying home? I think Junyi will go bankrupt sooner or later under your management if you keep it so closed off. :)]

Cen Sen scrolled up through the chat history and suddenly chuckled.

The driver and Zhou Jiaheng glanced at the rearview mirror subconsciously at the chuckle, but only for a moment, not daring to ask any further questions.

After being around a taciturn boss like Cen Sen for a long time, everyone's desire to chat and explore has long since faded.

A while ago, a bodyguard left the car behind me. It wasn't because the salary was too low or the work was too hard. It was just because the young man couldn't stand that everyone in the car had mouths but couldn't utter a single fart all day.
