Chapitre 19

Mo Yushen turned off the floor lamp on his side. "Go write on the desk. I'm going to sleep."

Xi Jia acted as if she hadn't heard and continued with her own work.

“Xi Jia.” Mo Yushen’s tone became more serious.

After a long pause, Xi Jia lazily asked, "What?"

"Stop picking a fight, go to sleep."

"I don't like what you're saying. What do you mean by nitpicking? I want to remember everything too, but I also need to be able to remember it all. Do you really think I want to write all this down?"

The room was silent for a few seconds.

Mo Yushen remained silent.

Xi Jia finished writing and put away her pen.

She leaned back and lay directly on Mo Yushen, resting her head on his shoulder.

Mo Yushen patted her on the shoulder and said, "Go to sleep when you're done writing."

Xi Jia held up her notebook, "Let me see if there's anything I need to add."

By holding it up like that, Mo Yushen could see what was written on it.

The entire page, two pages, was densely covered with writing, along with various arrows and symbols.

On the top half of the left page, the sentence related to Jiang Qin's stills was particularly eye-catching. She traced it over with colored pencils, afraid of forgetting it.

Mo Yushen pointed, "This matter is resolved."

Xi Jia glanced at the sentence and said, "I know."

Mo Yushen: "Write down the solution below, so you don't forget it tomorrow. Otherwise, they'll find fault with me for no reason."

Xi Jiaguang listened without making any notes.

Seeing that she didn't move, Mo Yushen picked up a pen, propped the notebook up with one hand, and wrote on it with the other.

He wrapped his arms around Xi Jia, and Xi Jia was nestled in his embrace.

Mo Yushen's calligraphy is vigorous and powerful, with profound strokes.

It took less than a minute to finish writing it.

'Mo Yushen has already deleted the photos; he didn't mean it, so I don't blame him.'

Xi Jia pointed to the three words at the end, "Who said I don't blame you? You really know how to flatter yourself."

Mo Yushen didn't reply. He closed his notebook and placed it on the bedside table along with his pen.

Xi Jia rolled over, facing him, and lay on top of him.

She looked at Mo Yushen quietly. His eyes were calm, but desire was evident in them.

Mo Yushen held her back and turned to the side.

Xi Jia slid off him.

Mo Yushen turned off the light on Xi Jia's side, plunging the room into darkness.

Even the cherry blossom pink pajamas are hard to see.

Xi Jia reached out and hooked her arm around Mo Yushen's neck, their cheeks pressed together. "Husband, you..." Mo Yushen swallowed the rest of her words.

His waist and abdomen, where she had just sat to write, were hard and uncomfortable muscles.

At this moment, she was clinging to the ground with her legs, which were incredibly strong and could support her entire weight.

In the early hours of the morning, Xi Jia was exhausted and had no strength to move. She fell asleep in Mo Yushen's arms.

The next morning, Mo Yushen had to go to a company meeting, so he got up before Xi Jia.

Xi Jia slept until eight o'clock, when she woke up naturally.

I've forgotten most of what happened yesterday, but I do remember that I have to go to the horse farm for training at nine o'clock today.

The air quality isn't as good as yesterday; the sky is overcast.

As the night passed, there were many more fallen leaves in the horse farm, and the grass had turned yellow.

During training breaks, Xi Jia likes to lean on the windowsill and look at the scenery of the horse farm.

It has never been artificially trimmed, and it exudes natural beauty.

A river runs through the horse farm, and the riverbanks are lined with reeds and foxtail grass.

Xi Jia leaned against the windowsill, where she could see the riverbank.

In late autumn and early winter, reeds and foxtail grass turn withered and yellow, swaying in the wind.

This equestrian club has three major shareholders.

The initial reasons for investing in this horse farm varied.

Some do it for profit, some for love, and some for friendship.

Mo Yushen was the shareholder who acted out of self-interest.

They're obsessed with money.

Xi Jia gazed into the distance for a while, her eyes having rested enough. Just as she was about to turn around, a person wearing sportswear ran along the riverside road, looking like they were exercising.

As she got closer, Xi Jia could see the person clearly.

She shouted out the window, "Scumbag Yang!"

Wu Yang ran over, panting. He had run several laps around the horse farm that morning, covering dozens of kilometers. He leaned against a tree trunk to calm himself down before speaking, "How are you feeling today?"

"good."

Xi Jia crossed her arms and glanced at him sideways, "Have you resolved your relationship issues?"

Mentioning this gave Wu Yang a headache. He pointed to his watch and said, "We don't talk about personal matters during work hours."

Xi Jia glared at him, then turned and left.

Wu Yang went back to his office and washed his face first, then washed his hair with cold water.

A bone-chilling cold.

He didn't handle the relationship issues well.

I was conflicted all day yesterday, feeling incredibly frustrated and not wanting to face any of them. After get off work, I didn't go back to the city; I spent the night at the horse farm instead.

His ex-girlfriend, he pursued her for two years before winning her over. He truly loved her, but they still broke up in the end.

Three years after their breakup, his ex-girlfriend came back to him wanting to get back together.

He met his current girlfriend when he was going through a low point in his love life. He doesn't know if it was because he liked her, was touched by her, or was simply single at the time. She was a nice person and treated him well, so they got together.

I have feelings for her, I suppose.

But I'm definitely not that in love.

But he couldn't bear to dump her.

I owe her so much.

There was a knock on the door.

Wu Yang grabbed a towel from the shelf and walked out while drying his hair.

"Yang?"

He is Xi Jia's foreign coach.

Wu Yang said "Please come in" in English, and then took the towel back to the restroom.

The coach came over to report on Xi Jia's training progress.

Wu Yang quickly came out from inside. "How was it?"

The coach looked grave and shook his head. "His technique has not only failed to improve, but has clearly regressed."

Wu Yang put his hands on his hips and pressed the tip of his tongue against his teeth.

Mo Yushen specifically instructed him to keep a close eye on Xi Jia's condition.

Xi Jia's illness will affect her balance and poses a risk of falling off her horse.

If this happens, she should be disqualified from the competition.

Wu Yang looked at the coach, "Will it affect her safety?"

Coach: "Not at the moment, but if this continues, it will affect her ranking."

Wu Yang's requirements were not high; as long as Xi Jia could ride a horse, that was fine. Rankings and such were not important.

Wu Yang instructed the coach to pay close attention to Xi Jia's training situation at all times and ensure her safety.

Coach: "No problem, it's my job."

The door closed and the coach left.

Wu Yang pressed hard on his temples.

One trouble after another.

evening.

Xi Jia's training has ended.

During this period, her training intensity was less than that of others, and her rest periods were longer.

The coach said in broken Chinese: "Work and rest should be balanced."

After getting into the car and closing the door, Xi Jia sent Mo Yushen a voice message: "Honey, what time are you coming home tonight?"

Mo Yushen quickly replied: [In a meeting.]

He didn't listen to that voice message.

Xi Jia: [What time will you get home?]

Mo Yushen has a meeting tonight, [before midnight].

Xi Jia looked at her phone screen. Mo Yushen wouldn't be home until midnight, and she would be bored at home alone. Tonight, she could go for a drive and see the night view of Beijing.
