Глава 20

They sang two more songs, and before long it was seven o'clock. At this point, Yang Feng snapped out of his musical reverie and almost forgot that Uncle Xia had invited him to his house, but he didn't know why.

Then, she stood up, her eyes falling on Wu Miaoyin at the other table. She walked up to her and said, "Sorry, Sister Wu, I have some things to do today, so I have to leave an hour early."

"It's alright...it's alright, just remember to come on time at six o'clock tomorrow afternoon." Wu Miaoyin waved her hand, a charming smile appearing on her lips. She took two hundred yuan from the front desk and handed it to Yang Feng, saying:

"Here's your fee for one hour today. Take it. Remember to be on time tomorrow, pianist."

"Alright, Sister Wu, I'll be going now." Yang Feng glanced at the two red banknotes in his hand, then stuffed them into his pocket and said with a slight smile.

Yang Feng walked out of the coffee shop. It was already past eight o'clock. It would take more than twenty minutes to walk there, so he picked up a shared bike and slowly drove towards the Mingwan Villa community.

"Stop the car! Stop the car! This is a high-end residential area, not a place you can just barge into. Leave now!"

Yang Feng stopped, placed one foot on the ground, and looked at the security guard in front of him.

"You look unfamiliar; you're probably not from here. Leave now," the security guard said as he stepped forward.

"I'm here to see Uncle Xia Guoliang; I'm his relative," Yang Feng said calmly.

"Are you related to Chairman Xia? I've never heard of him having any relatives." The security guard was taken aback, but just to be on the safe side, he went into the security room and made a phone call to the Xia family.

Yang Feng, standing outside, gazed at the dark night sky with his bright eyes and sighed softly. This was the first time his father had invited him to his house for dinner since his father's passing.

...

On a bridge about five miles from the villas in the Mingwan residential area, a man in his thirties with a chiseled face, deep blue eyes, a high nose, and blond hair was clearly a foreigner. He was wearing a black overcoat, and a weapon was faintly visible at the hem of his trousers.

Holding a photo of the Xia family in his hand, a sinister grin spread across his face as he said, "I've received the money. They'll be leaving this world tonight. It's been a pleasure doing business with them."

A heavy voice came from the other end of the phone: "Pleasant cooperation, assassin [Charm]."

After hanging up the phone, the assassin Mei's lips curled slightly upwards as she turned and left the Beijing Bridge, leaving behind a cold and aloof figure, subtly filled with murderous intent.

At the entrance of Mingwan Villa, the security guard jogged out, smiled slightly, and a hint of curiosity flashed in his eyes. He hadn't expected that this young man was really a relative of Chairman Xia. Wouldn't that mean he had already taken a step towards promotion?

"Young man, you can go in now," the security guard said with a fawning smile.

Yang Feng glanced at the security guard, parked the shared bike at the entrance of the residential area, turned around and went inside, and soon arrived at Villa No. 6.

Three luxury cars were parked in front of the villa. Two of them were Porsches, but Yang Feng didn't know what models they were. The other one was a yellow Lamborghini, which he recognized.

However, as far as I remember, the Xia family only bought two Porsches. Could it be that they bought a Lamborghini sports car as well?

Yang Feng shook his head self-deprecatingly. Even if it were true, what did it have to do with him?

Yang Feng walked through the white villa fence to the door, knocked gently, and the door opened quickly.

The door was opened by a young nanny from the Xia family. Yang Feng nodded to her and walked inside. The nanny's eyes flashed with disdain. She hadn't expected the Xia family to have such a poor relative.

The villa's living room is predominantly European in style, featuring a designer white wool sofa, a black all-glass table, a golden crystal chandelier hanging in the center of the living room, round arched windows and corner stonework, black marble floor tiles, and a 25-foot LCD TV.

Yang Feng ignored all of that and looked up at the sofa where he saw four people chatting.

"Yang Feng is here, please have a seat." Xia Guoliang stood up and smiled slightly at Yang Feng.

Yang Feng nodded and sat down on the other sofa. He glanced at Xia Yumo and the young man sitting next to her. The young man was wearing a white suit and an Armani watch on his wrist. He looked very proud and seemed to be a good match for Xia Yumo.

"Xiao Feng, let me introduce you. This is Zhou Jianwen, a top student who graduated from Harvard University in the United States and is now running his own business." Xia Guoliang smiled slightly and glanced at the two of them.

Zhou Jianwen's father is a director in Xia Guoliang's company, so he is naturally a second-generation rich kid who just returned from studying abroad this year.

Zhou Jianwen smiled faintly, nodded arrogantly at Yang Feng, relaxed his wrist to reveal his silver watch, and looked utterly haughty.

Then, he picked up the gift bag on the table; the outer packaging was exquisite. He took out a box from inside, handed it to Xia Guoliang, and smiled:

"Uncle Xia, I heard you like to smoke. I just happened to bring back a few packs of expensive cigarettes from the United States, called Lucky Strike cigarettes, and I came here especially to present them to you."

"Oh?" Xia Guoliang's eyes lit up. He was a little excited. After all, he was also a smoker and smoked two or three cigarettes a day. He held the original red packaging with red diamonds in his hands. When he opened it, there were only six packs inside, all of them Lucky Strike cigarettes.

Lucky Strike cigarettes are very famous and expensive worldwide, and are basically unavailable in China. It is said that some packs cost as much as 600,000 yuan.

Zhou Jianwen looked at Xia Guoliang, clearly pleased, then smiled faintly, took out another box of health supplements from the packaging, placed it in front of Xia Yumo's mother, and said:

“Aunt Lin, didn’t you mention joint pain when you were chatting with my dad last time? I specially asked my friend in the US to send you some health supplements called Glucosamine. Take two tablets every day, and I guarantee you’ll be more active and healthier than us young people.”

Lin Ya smiled broadly, looking at Zhou Jianwen as if he were her son-in-law, and said, "How could I accept this? I even asked your friend to buy them. Tell your aunt how much these cost, and I'll pay you."

Zhou Jianwen waved his arm and said generously, "It's just a little money, Aunt Lin, please accept it. If you take this Viagra for two weeks, you'll find that your joints won't hurt as much."

"Jianwen, thank you so much," Lin Ya said with a smile.

Then, Zhou Jianwen took out other types of supplements from the exquisite packaging bag and handed them to Xia Guoliang and Lin Ya. He had a faint smile on his face and kept introducing them. Xia Yumo, who was sitting next to him, also had a sweet smile on her lips. When she looked at Yang Feng, who was calm across from her, a hint of disdain flashed in her beautiful eyes.

Lin Ya was overjoyed as she listened to Zhou Jianwen's introduction. She looked at Zhou Jianwen and Xia Yumo and said that she would wholeheartedly approve of their relationship, even if it was a case of puppy love.

Zhou Jianwen pulled out another box from the packaging box as if by magic, a pink and exquisitely packaged box covered with English letters. His eyes flashed with greed as he looked at Xia Yumo beside him and said with a smile, "Yumo, these are cosmetics I brought from the United States. I brought them specifically for you to use. I heard from a friend that they are very effective."

"Thank you." Xia Yumo chuckled and took the cosmetics from his hand.

Her smile stunned Zhou Jianwen, making him even more eager to have her. He quickly came to his senses.

Then, he called the nanny behind him to bring out more precious ingredients from his car, all of which were very rare and valuable.

"Aunt Lin, these are all expensive ingredients that my friend bought. They are very fresh and all wild. Look at the two-year-old carp and soft-shelled turtle weighing 1 kilogram, as well as the licorice and lingzhi picked from the deep mountains. They can all be used to make soup, specially for you to nourish yourself."

Lin Ya didn't stand on ceremony with him anymore, already treating him as her son-in-law. A handsome, wealthy, and filial man like him was hard to find even with a lantern. She glanced at Yang Feng again, snorted, and said, "You came to my house empty-handed. At least bring some fruit." She wouldn't say anything more.
