Chapter Three: The King's Demeanor

Chapter Three

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their support. Over 2000 people have viewed this in less than a day, which is incredibly exciting! I believe many of you have seen the first two seasons of the TV series "My Date with a Vampire." I really loved it, which is why I wanted to write a sequel. My idea is to add several more female protagonists and let them develop relationships with Kuang Tianyou. I especially hope that Wang Zhenzhen can end up with Kuang Tianyou; I've always liked her character. However, she died in the first two seasons, so in this story, I want her to have the powers of a vampire so she can help Kuang Tianyou in crucial moments. As for the romance between the three of them, I'll let it develop naturally. Also, the previous Kuang Tianyou was too rigid; I will change that in this book.

Around noon, Sophie and the other three arrived precisely on time. The lights seemed to dim at that moment, and bright red blood slowly seeped from the central cross. The sound of hymns drifted through the church. "We're here! Why aren't you coming out?" Sophie called out.

Outside the door, Ma Xiaoling said to a sprightly and energetic old man, "Uncle Qiu, I really have to thank you this time. To be honest, I wasn't confident I could handle four zombies at the same time."

"Xiaoling, your great-aunt and I have been friends for decades, so I'll help you with this little favor. Besides, you're one of my biggest clients. Zhengzhong, this time is unusual, so be careful."

"Don't worry, Uncle Qiu, my Buddha Palm technique is no joke either."

"That's about enough, Uncle Qiu, let's go in."

The church doors slowly opened, and three figures appeared in the doorway.

Sophie laughed in fury, "You few aren't qualified! Come on, let me see what you're capable of to dare to be so arrogant. Mike, go! Kill these guys and avenge George!" With that, she floated into the air, her golden hair standing on end, making her look like a demon, with long, zombie-like teeth sprouting from her mouth. If Sophie was a beautiful goddess a moment ago, she was now a demon from hell. Uncle Qiu, seeing this, reached out and produced a talisman, shouting, "Divine command! Heavenly thunder to exorcise the demon!" A bolt of lightning struck Sophie. Sophie didn't dodge, letting Uncle Qiu perform his magic. The lightning struck Sophie, and a faint current swirled around her body. Suddenly, Sophie opened her arms, letting out an angry growl, and actually absorbed the current.

"Xiaoling, be careful! She's a zombie from within the fifth generation. Use the Exorcising Thunder Array to deal with her!" Uncle Qiu was anxious when his spells failed, fearing Xiaoling would be at a disadvantage, so he quickly reminded her. Actually, Ma Xiaoling already knew this when the Thunder talisman was ineffective, making Uncle Qiu worry unnecessarily. Seeing Sophie had already made her move, the others—no, the zombies—also joined the fray. Mike and Qiang both pounced on Uncle Qiu, while Nilu went after Zhengzhong, leaving Ma Xiaoling to confront Sophie. Uncle Qiu, despite his age, fought the two zombies, but Zhengzhong was struggling and his fight with Nilu was precarious. Ma Xiaoling knew she needed a quick victory, so she drew her Demon-Slaying Blade and fought Sophie. In an instant, energy surged, and the scene became extremely chaotic. Uncle Qiu, while not defeated between the two zombies, could only defend himself. The battle between Ma Xiaoling and Sophie was evenly matched, but Zheng Zhong was caught in the middle. In terms of cultivation, he was far inferior to both of them, making it extremely difficult for him to cope. With a bang, he was sent flying by Nilu. Nilu immediately pounced on him, opening its mouth to bite his neck. Ma Xiaoling and Uncle Qiu saw this and tried to spare him, but they couldn't shake off the zombies around them. Just then, a roar erupted, and a figure rushed in. Ma Xiaoling and the others didn't feel anything, but the other zombies felt a chill run down their spines. The person who entered was masked, but exuded an unparalleled aura of royalty. Sensing this aura, Sophie and the others felt a surge of reverence, momentarily forgetting they were fighting. Uncle Qiu saw an opportunity, took out the Five Thunder Talisman, lit it with Samadhi True Fire, and shoved it into Mike's mouth. With a boom, a ball of fire erupted from Mike's body, blasting him into pieces.

The masked man who entered later punched Niru, sending him flying to the side. The punch landed right in front of Ma Xiaoling. Ma Xiaoling chanted an incantation, and the Demon-Subduing Blade pierced his heart. Niru's head lolled to the side, and he immediately collapsed, turning into fragments of light that slowly dissipated. Qiang cried out in grief, "Niru!" and leaped towards Ma Xiaoling.

"Qiang, no!" But it was too late. Ma Xiaoling formed a hand seal and chanted, "Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Zhen, Lie, Zai, Qian, Zhu Xie." A golden dragon responded and rushed towards the flying Qiang. Qiang let out a death scream, and another zombie was destroyed.

Seeing the situation was bad, Sophie managed to escape with all her might. "Ma Xiaoling, I will definitely come back to take revenge on you!" The mournful voice was filled with deep resentment and lingered for a long time.

"Thank you for saving Zhengzhong," Ma Xiaoling said, expressing her gratitude to the person who came.

The masked man didn't say a word and turned to leave. Ma Xiaoling was about to chase after him when Uncle Qiu called out to her. "Xiaoling, come back. He's masked because he doesn't want us to know who he is. Don't chase after him."

"But....."

"Let's finish up the work. I'm leaving. Be careful of Sophie's revenge, and take care of Zhengzhong."

Having said that, he floated away.
