Kapitel 212

“But smart people are often dangerous.” Yang Wei smiled and said, “This dog is especially dangerous.”

I kept my tone light and cheerful, glanced at her, and smiled, "You're very smart, but I don't think you're dangerous."

"That's because I'm not on your side."

"Oh, so now, at least he and I aren't on opposing sides."

As soon as I finished speaking, the elevator doors opened. I stepped out first, Yang Wei followed beside me, while Hansen and Hammer trailed behind. To my surprise, when I stepped outside, I saw an old acquaintance.

Yes, do you remember the last time I was taken to the police station, I was beaten by a white police officer? This guy, his fat face seemed even more bloated, his hair was thinning, he looked haggard, and his eyes were gloomy, like a wild beast ready to devour someone at any moment.

What surprised me most was... he had a gloomy expression on his face as he escorted a man dressed like a thug with tattoos all over his shoulders and arms, but he clearly seemed a little distracted.

He was not far from me, but when I saw him, he didn't seem to care... or rather, he was somewhat lost in thought, his gloomy gaze clearly unfocused...

This is undoubtedly a very dangerous situation, especially since he is still escorting a criminal!

He was distracted and unaware of the impending danger. His gun holster was under his arm, but it was inadvertently exposed by his open jacket. Just as he gently nudged the thug in front of him, a fierce glint flashed in the thug's eyes!

Caught off guard, the white police officer was pushed to the ground, knocking over two chairs and knocking over two other people. In that instant, the thug swiftly reached into the holster under the officer's arm and pulled out a handgun!

The thug was clearly desperate, his eyes darting left and right. His face was contorted with rage and murderous intent! He was handcuffed, gun in hand, and immediately charged at the white police officer!

Caught off guard, the criminal grabbed him with one arm, then tightened his elbow around his neck, while a gun was pressed firmly against the poor wretch's temple!

Screams, shouts, and gasps erupted almost simultaneously, filling the corridor with chaos. Several police officers had already drawn their guns and rushed towards the scene, but the criminal yelled a few words, raised his gun high, and pressed it firmly against the temple of the hostage white police officer. Then, he dragged the officer, who had fallen and was unsteady on his feet, to his feet.

Quickly, the criminals and the kidnapped police officers were surrounded, with at least a dozen police officers closing in on them in the corridor.

Unfortunately, this scene unfolded right before my eyes as I stepped out of the elevator. Even more unfortunately, we were positioned right behind the assailant, and as we were surrounded, we were forced into a corner against the wall next to the elevator.

The assailant shouted a few words... Clearly, the surrounding police officers were somewhat tense. I remember this white officer seemed to be of considerable rank, probably not low. The officers were hesitant to act, seemingly afraid to rush in, and some even lacked the ability to react quickly.

"Back off! Back off!! Or I'll kill him!!" The thug was frantic. He carefully hid his head behind the white police officer, only his eyes showing. Then he retreated step by step towards the corner of the elevator. I was standing to his side. I immediately reached out and grabbed Yang Wei's waist, then quickly pulled her behind me, while my own body blocked her way.

This happened very suddenly, but Hansen and Hammer reacted quickly; they immediately stepped forward and blocked my way.

I felt a warmth in my hand as a soft, delicate little hand slipped into my palm. I naturally took her hand in mine, only then realizing it was Yang Wei. She looked at me with a relaxed smile, but there was something different in her eyes as she winked at me.

"Put down your gun, kid!!" a policeman shouted.

I couldn't help but curse the policeman in my heart for being stupid... If the person was willing to put down his gun, would he still be considered a criminal?

The assailant was about seven or eight steps away from me, facing sideways. But coincidentally, he stood between me and the police, effectively blocking me from entering the area as well.

The thug had a murderous look on his face, but it was obvious that he wasn't panicked. His gun-handling posture was also very skilled, even professional!

"Back off!" he shouted again as the policeman was about to move forward. He pressed the muzzle of his gun against the white policeman's temple and put his hand around his neck. He was very strong, and the white policeman's face turned red from being strangled, and his facial features were distorted.

"You! Press the elevator button for me!!" he suddenly pointed his gun at us and shouted.

Hansen and Hammer blocked my way, and Hammer whispered, "Brother Wu, should we do something about this?"

"I don't care." I didn't say anything. It was Yang Wei who spoke, and her expression was very calm.

The white police officer looked frustrated and nervous. He finally noticed me, a strange look in his eyes. Seeing that we didn't move, the thug yelled, "Quick! Press the elevator button!!"

I smiled, gently separated Hansen and Hammer, and then reached out and pressed the button on the elevator.

Bang!!

Suddenly a gunshot rang out! I saw the face of one of the policemen at the very front turn deathly pale, and he quickly took a step back!

The thug shouted menacingly, "Don't move forward! Otherwise, I don't know where my next shot will land!"

It turns out that a police officer had tried to force the officer, but the assailant was quick-witted and fired a shot that landed on the floor in front of the officer!

bite!

With a crisp ring, the elevator finally arrived, and the assailant dragged the white police officer backward toward the elevator doors. I noticed his movements were incredibly professional! And he was extremely adept at concealing himself! He almost skillfully hid his body completely behind the white police officer, making it impossible for the surrounding officers to find any opportunity to fire!

He had retreated to a spot not too far from me, while Hansen stood firmly in front of Yang Wei, carefully helping her back. Although Hammer had no experience as a bodyguard, he followed suit, trying to protect me.

“You can’t escape… This is the police station interior… You have no way to get away!” The white police officer stammered, trying to break the criminal’s will with words, but the criminal looked disdainful and didn’t care at all.

He slowly retreated to the elevator door, half of his body already inside, then raised his hand and shot, destroying the camera in the corner of the elevator!

That shot was both fast and accurate!

A thought struck me... This guy is definitely not an ordinary gangster!

I saw a glint of shrewdness flash in Hansen's eyes, and his hand had involuntarily gone to his waist.

Although none of us brought firearms into the police station, I'm sure that a guy like Hansen must have been carrying some other weapons.

Seeing the assailant retreating into the elevator, the police had already split up and run upstairs. The remaining officers tried to approach, but a murderous glint flashed in the assailant's eyes. Without hesitation, he raised his hand and fired a shot into the white police officer's thigh! The officer screamed in agony. Blood flowed freely, and half his body went limp.

Bang!

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a smug look suddenly appeared on the assailant's face. Then, he suddenly fired a shot, which hit the fire sprinkler head on the ceiling of the outer corridor! With a bang, water splashed everywhere!

And with that movement, my eyes suddenly lit up!

In an instant, the muscles on my face contorted, and a surge of intense anger and murderous intent erupted from the depths of my heart!

Because, at the very moment he raised his arm, from my angle, I could see the tattoo on his shoulder!

That was a... cobra!!!

I let out a low growl, shoved the hammer aside, and rushed out, but the elevator doors had already closed!

I rushed over like a madman, kicked the closed elevator doors twice, and yelled, "Grab him! Grab him!!"

The police were in an uproar; some had already rushed into the stairwell and were running upstairs, while others were using phones and walkie-talkies. I rushed up to a policeman, grabbed him, and yelled, "Quick! Which floor does the elevator go to! Tell me!!"

I grabbed the policeman by the neck. Seeing my ferocious appearance, he panicked a little. Then, a policeman next to him tried to pull me away, but I punched him away.

"Stop...stopped! The elevator stopped!" the policeman blurted out, dizzy from the shaking.

It stopped? He must have pressed the emergency button in the elevator!

Yang Wei, Hanlin, and Hammer came over to pull me away. Yang Wei wanted to ask me something, but I didn't have time to explain. I rushed to another elevator and shouted, "Quick! Stop the elevators! Stop all the elevators in this building!!"

Then, I didn't care whether the police paid any attention to me or not. I grabbed the gap between the closing elevator doors with both hands and strained with my arms... I could feel my joints cracking!

Finally, I managed to pry open the elevator door! The steel cables inside were exposed!

"Chen Yang!" Yang Wei called out to me from behind, looking surprised. I turned around and shouted, "No time to explain! Grab that guy! Find a way to stop the elevator in the building!"

I quickly took off my coat and wrapped it in my hands, then leaped into the narrow elevator shaft, grabbed the steel cable, and struggled to climb up!

Behind me, I heard Yang Wei scream in terror.

I knew she was calling the police to stop the elevator, which was exactly what I needed!

I entered the elevator shaft through a different elevator door. If the building's elevators don't stop, and an elevator comes down from above me, I'll be crushed to death!

Inside the elevator shaft, I gripped the steel cable and struggled upwards. It was very narrow, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of engine oil... I looked up in the dim light and saw an elevator car about five or six meters above and to my left. It was clear that the assailant had pressed the emergency button after entering the elevator, forcibly stopping it in mid-air!

Those stupid cops must be waiting at the elevator exits on each floor right now! But I saw it, on the elevator that was stopped in mid-air... vaguely, there was a figure, just like me, clinging to the steel cable, climbing up quickly like a monkey... His movements were exceptionally agile, almost like Spider-Man!

Damn it!

I pulled the dagger from my trouser leg, bit it in my mouth, and then quickly grabbed the steel cable with both hands and climbed up to catch up.

Part Two: The Road to Success, Chapter Thirty-Six: Go to Hell!

I used almost all my strength, but I was climbing much slower than the guy above me, barely managing to hang far below. Seeing him getting faster and faster, I grew increasingly anxious.

By this time, I had climbed up to the elevator car that was suspended in mid-air. I stood on the elevator car and caught my breath. I was standing on the top of the elevator car, with a big hole beneath my feet. That guy must have shot through the lock on the top cover of the elevator car with a bullet from inside the elevator and then climbed out.

Looking down, the poor white police officer was slumped in the elevator, but he still seemed to be breathing, so it seemed that the other party had not tried to kill him.

I hesitated for a second, then pulled my phone out of my pocket and tossed it to him. Without waiting for him to react, I shouted, "Quick! Call the people outside and tell them he went to the rooftop!"

The white police officer pitifully picked up the phone, glancing at me with a somewhat blank look in his eyes. I didn't have time to pay attention to him anymore. I took a deep breath and continued to climb up the steel cable.

The police station building is an old-style building with only about seven or eight floors... It's fortunate that it is, otherwise if it had twenty-seven or twenty-eight floors, I probably would have been exhausted.

My voice startled the guy upstairs. He glanced down at me, and I could vaguely sense the menacing glint in his eyes. Then I saw him suddenly stop and draw his gun…

Instinctively, I dodged and leaped to the left from the steel cable. I heard two gunshots beside me; the bullets struck the spot where I had been standing, sparks flying as they struck the metal plate! I landed headfirst in a trough on the left, which barely covered most of my body.

The guy up there, seeing that his two shots missed me, didn't hesitate and continued climbing upwards.

My arms are sore, especially my shoulders, where the muscles are tearing from overexertion, but I'm forcing myself to endure it... not for any other reason than the tattoo on this guy's shoulder!

That cobra!

It was a seven or eight-story building. I don't know how long it took me to climb, but when I got to the top, there were already police officers in the elevator lobby around the fifth floor, shining flashlights inside. They were shouting, and I yelled back at them, "Idiots! He's up there! On the roof!! On the roof!!"

I didn't care whether the police understood or not, and kept going up. The guy up there had disappeared from my sight. This made me a little anxious. When I finally reached the top, I found that this was the top floor of the elevator shaft. There was a ring of steel cables, huge machines... and a small iron door next to it—this was the maintenance exit! It was very narrow. Only wide enough for one person to barely squeeze through. The door was open, and the lock was broken. Bright light shone from outside.

I moved over, bracing myself with my hands. Then I kicked out with both legs, and with that push, I slid out of the small door. But before my legs even touched the ground, I felt a gust of wind from the side... and then I felt a sharp pain in my waist, my body jolted, and I flew sideways, crashing to the ground.

My exposed skin rubbed against the ground, drawing blood, and I felt a sharp pain in my lower left rib area! Before I could even stand up, I saw a foot appear in front of me, about to stomp on my head. I immediately rolled away, trying to get as far away as possible. Then, gritting my teeth and enduring the pain, I leaped to my feet, only to see this guy grinning maliciously at me.

I looked down and saw a shoe print on my clothes on my left lower rib area. It was clear that this guy had come out first, then ambushed me from the side, and kicked me hard as soon as I came out!

I took a deep breath; half my body was numb with pain! That guy's foot was incredibly hard! I suspect that kick probably broke my ribs! Or at least caused a fracture!

There were about three to five steps between us. My hands were empty, while his were handcuffed, though the chains were broken—he probably shot himself in the process. Luckily, his gun was obviously out of bullets; otherwise, if he had used his gun instead of his foot when I came out, I'd probably be dead by now.

We sized each other up for a few moments, and then my gaze casually swept across the ground. My dagger had fallen to the ground; it had been there when I slipped and fell earlier.

He cautiously approached me a few steps, his footing steady and his movements agile. I had injured my left ribs, which made it difficult to move my left arm; raising my left arm would cause excruciating pain in my ribs.

Suddenly, just as I staggered slightly, he moved! He seized the opportunity perfectly, watching me move to the left. His body naturally tilted to one side due to the pain, and in an instant, he clasped his hands together and slammed the iron handcuffs on his wrists down on my face…

I dodged quickly with my feet, managing to avoid his hand movements, but at the same time he kicked out, striking my thigh squarely. My legs buckled, but luckily my lower body strength was quite solid, so although I staggered, I didn't fall. But this guy was not only agile, his movements were also more venomous and vicious than a snake! Almost without pausing, he turned and was behind me, then delivered a backhand elbow strike, landing heavily on my back!

I immediately felt everything go black! I was thrown forward, almost spitting out blood! In my haste, I braced myself with my hands, avoiding a face-first impact to the ground, and then tried to land on my back. Before I could catch my breath, this guy pounced on me again!

I immediately braced myself on the ground with both hands, and when he got close, I suddenly did a somersault, standing up from the ground and kicking him hard in the chin with both legs!

He immediately stumbled and fell, then twisted his body and managed to stand up straight, but his chin and the corner of his mouth were already covered in blood.

We were both hit hard by each other. We both gasped for breath, stared at each other, took a couple of steps back, and then pounced again! His attack was fast. He raised his hand and struck my throat. I turned my head to dodge but couldn't, and was hit on the shoulder. His punches were like the wind. After landing one punch, he continued to rain down on me like a storm, each punch more vicious than the last!

I parried a few times, but his fists were really hard. He quickly broke through my defenses and punched me right in the chest, almost knocking me out. But he wasn't having an easy time either. I kicked him in the stomach, and he cried out in pain, staggering back two steps.

I had already calmed down by then, and with a roar I pounced on him. The two of us quickly started wrestling. He twisted my neck, and I pressed my hands against his eyes!

We rolled around on the ground. He was very vicious. He deliberately freed his hand and punched me twice more in the injured rib area on my lower left side. These two punches almost made me vomit blood, but I endured it and did not defend myself. I grabbed his neck tightly with one hand and punched him twice in the chest with the other.
