Глава 5

Amidst the noise, Qin Chu calmly stepped inside.

He had a naturally cold expression, and his school uniform sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. The way he gripped the chair leg with one hand didn't look like he was going back to class for self-study; it looked more like he was there to fight.

This created a very strange phenomenon: Qin Chu was like a human-shaped dummy, and wherever he went, the sound would become fainter.

Qin Chu thought to Noah in his mind, "These students are quite well-behaved."

Unlike those troublemakers in his military academy, who were always finding new ways to cause trouble.

What Qin Chu didn't know was that before he returned, a group of students in his class had come up with all sorts of ways to mess with him. But now, countless people who had stretched out their legs to trip him up were intimidated by his sharp aura and shrank back.

But they couldn't help but secretly observe Qin and Chu.

The seats in Class 1 are arranged in three large columns, and each column is further divided into three smaller columns. Before Cheng Cheng's dirty deeds were exposed, he still had two deskmates, but now those two have directly teamed up with others.

A group of people were waiting to see Cheng Cheng make a fool of himself, wondering where he would be sitting.

Unexpectedly, Qin Chu didn't hesitate at all. He stretched out his forearm, lifted the desk, and placed it directly in the last row.

Unlike the usual Cheng Cheng, he pursed his lips, a gesture that exuded an arrogant sense of "I'm too lazy to sit next to a bunch of idiots."

It's all in good faith. They were clearly the ones who conspired to ostracize Cheng Cheng, but now it seems like each of them is being thoroughly disliked.

Qin Chu put his desk away and realized it was too far back; the trash can was right behind him. So he reached out and knocked on the desk in front of him, coldly demanding, "Move your desk forward."

The guy in front was clearly annoyed, and turned around to hurl a vulgar curse: "You motherfucker..."

But when he looked up and met Cheng Cheng's unusually cold gaze, he couldn't utter a single word. In the end, this guy could only silently turn back and sullenly move his desk forward.

My deskmate said with exasperation, "What are you cowardly for! Didn't we agree to fight against evil forces to the very end?!"

The guy who had sworn earlier looked exasperated: "I had this feeling that if I refused him, he would kill me..."

His deskmate's face was full of disdain, as if he wanted to write "you coward" on his face. He turned his head to confront Qin Chu, but after two seconds, he silently turned his head back, and the words on his face became "I am a coward".

As a result, a full third of the classroom floor shook. When the back row moved forward, the entire front row had to move along with it, and the whole classroom was filled with creaking sounds.

The guy with the loudspeaker who had previously made harsh remarks to Qin Chu was also the leader of this isolation plan. Upon seeing this scene, he was so angry that he pounded his chest and stamped his feet in anger.

Noah overheard the whispers between the two men and shook his head and sighed in Qin Chu's mind: "Sir, you're doing something wrong."

Qin Chu asked, "What's wrong?"

Noah: "You're the one who's always being isolated! Why are you acting like you're persecuting the whole class?!"

Qin Chu: "..."

Noah added, with a hint of caution in his voice, "You will be living in this world for a while, until the mission is over. So I advise you to maintain good relationships with your classmates and explain what happened this morning."

Qin Chu remained indifferent to this: "No need, my purpose is simply to complete the mission."

Noah paused for two seconds before speaking, "The calculation is complete, and your mission in this world has been determined."

Upon hearing this, Qin Chu perked up: "What mission?" The street outside the school was such a mess that General Qin was itching to do something about it, and he felt it was absolutely necessary to do something about it.

“It’s not about improving public order,” Noah said first.

Qin Chu: "..."

Noah's voice became more cautious: "Based on my precise simulation, the most effective and safest mission route is to ensure that your three classmates can take the college entrance examination normally."

How can we ensure that these children can take the exam?

Qin Chu was speechless with anger. Before he could even utter a curse, Noah rattled off, "This world is centered around this school, and its scope is limited to this city. Data beings living in this world will have all sorts of reasonable reasons to be forever confined to this scenario."

"So the more people take the college entrance exam, the more likely they are to go out into the world, and the bigger the logical flaws in this world will become." Qin Chu understood Noah's meaning.

“That’s right, dear sir, you’re still as outstanding as ever.” Noah said with a boastful look, “And I’ve specially selected three targets for you that are the easiest to achieve your goals.”

Knowing that he was about to embark on a life of raising children, Qin Chu was in a bad mood and simply asked, "Which three?"

Noah maintained his tone of surprise: "Those are Zhou Sisi and Zhao Yuan, who were first and second in the previous year, and Wang Peng, who was tenth in the previous year!"

After the initial surprise came an awkward silence.

Qin Chu: "...Oh, you mean Zhou Sisi, whom I had people stop, and Zhao Yuan, whom I robbed, and..."

At this point, Qin Chu paused, then asked Noah, "Who is Wang Peng?"

"At the two o'clock position from your current location."

Qin Chu looked up and met the angry glare of Brother Trumpet.

Qin Chu: "...You're really great."

Chapter 6, First Story (4)

The evening self-study session ended with an odd atmosphere. Qin Chu took his things and walked out of the classroom toward the dormitory building.

The afterglow of the exams had not yet faded, and students gathered in twos and threes to discuss either the practice questions or the two major incidents of absenteeism caused by Cheng Cheng.

As one of the victims, Zhou Sisi was surrounded as soon as she left the classroom.

"Sisi, I heard that Cheng Cheng had someone stop you again yesterday, is that true?"

"No..." Zhou Sisi was in a bad mood because she was late for an exam yesterday morning, but she still mustered her spirits to explain. She hesitated for a moment, "It doesn't seem like Cheng Cheng hired anyone this time..."

When Zhou Sisi saw Cheng Cheng at the alley entrance, like everyone else, her first thought was that Cheng Cheng had sent someone to stop her again. But even after she had run out onto the street, she mustered up the courage to look back once more.

At that moment, several thugs were trampled on the ground. Cheng Cheng had his back to her and his head down. Zhou Sisi couldn't see what he was doing, but she could vaguely hear his cold voice, as if Cheng Cheng was scolding the thugs.

Zhou Sisi didn't think Cheng Cheng was a good person, but this time it seemed like he really wasn't the one who did it.

However, the classmates who gathered around to gossip were clearly not interested in Zhou Sisi's guess.

"Who else could it be but him?"

"Those people in the old street are all amazing. You actually managed to escape. That's incredible!"

Zhou Sisi tried to explain a few more times, but seeing that it had no effect, she just felt a headache coming on: "Hey, stop asking! I did badly on the test this time, it's so annoying!"

Noah noticed the commotion on the girl's side and began to urge, "Sir, aren't you really going to explain? Zhou Sisi has already spoken up for you! Take this opportunity to build a good relationship with Zhou Sisi."

Qin Chu remained uninterested: "Would they believe me if I explained?"

Noah paused for two seconds before replying, "That's true. If you go over and explain, then tomorrow's rumor will be 'Cheng Cheng coldly threatened Zhou Sisi to shut up.'"

What can you do if someone looks like a villain?

Qin Chu ignored him, her attention still focused on Zhou Sisi, thinking about how to complete the task.

This mission was truly unprecedented for Qin Chu. Whether it was capturing a space pirate, fighting a space beast, or even maintaining local security, Qin Chu was quite adept at it.

But Qin Chu never expected that one day his task would be to supervise three little kids taking exams.

There was another sound from Zhou Sisi's side. The loudspeaker... no, it was Wang Peng shouting: "Zhou Sisi, it's getting dark, let me take you home!"

For a moment, both girls and boys started to cheer. Zhou Sisi clutched her schoolbag, her face turning red, and finally said, "No need, Wang Peng, my dad is picking me up today."

Since it concerned Zhou Sisi and Wang Peng, the two people on the mission, Qin Chu stopped and watched for a while.

He checked the task progress given by Noah. There were three progress bars in total. Even though he hadn't done anything yet, Zhou Sisi and Wang Peng's progress bars had both reached 50%.

Qin Chu asked Noah, "Zhou Sisi is first in her grade, so why do I still need to supervise her during the college entrance examination?"

Regarding mission-related matters, Noah was fairly reliable, providing some useful information: "Because Zhou Sisi missed the exam during the normal progress of this small world."

"Why?"

"Because Zhou Sisi fell in love with a delinquent outside of school, she gradually became involved in his life, which caused her grades to drop. Moreover, she got involved in an off-campus fight before the college entrance examination, which directly disqualified her from taking the exam."

Qin Chu frowned.

Not far away, a girl in a blue and white school uniform was jogging towards the school gate with a heavy senior high school backpack on her back, her high ponytail swinging in arcs behind her head.

It's hard to imagine that such a well-behaved and clean girl would be squatting in the streets, covered in dust.

Noah knew what Qin Chu was thinking and said, "Big data proves that humans are often attracted to individuals who are completely opposite to themselves. Zhou Sisi was attracted to the hoodlum Meng Bo in this way. Before an exam, Zhou Sisi took a shortcut through the old street and ended up being harassed by other hoodlums. At the critical moment, Meng Bo came to her rescue..."

Hearing this, Qin Chu stared at the 50% progress bar and realized that something seemed wrong.

He asked, "When did you mean this happened?"

Noah sorted out the timeline and once again looked at Qin Chu in his mind.

"As expected of your superior, you stole Meng Bo's chance to shine even before the mission began..."

Noah's tone was full of sighs: "When I saw this fifty percent, I thought it was because you were too determined to improve public order."

If Qin Chu were to get angry and simply reform Meng Bo and his gang of thugs, then there wouldn't be any real problems. But as it stands now, it seems the outcome won't be much different.

"What about Wang Peng's 50%?" Qin Chu then asked.

"Can't you tell? Wang Peng likes Zhou Sisi."

"Really?" Qin Chu raised an eyebrow. He really couldn't see what kind of things could possibly happen between these kids.

"..." Noah remained silent for two seconds, then dutifully explained, "Wang Peng was supposed to go find Zhou Sisi before the college entrance exam, so that they would both lose their eligibility to take the exam. Now that Zhou Sisi's problem is half solved, Wang Peng's problem will naturally be solved as well."

General Qin didn't say anything more. The mission was progressing so quickly, it seemed that these kids weren't so difficult to manage.

Finally, Qin Chu focused his attention on the only progress bar that was at 0%. Compared to the two progress bars next to it that were halfway through, Zhao Yuan's bar was completely bare, looking quite out of place.

Qin Chu had no recollection of Zhao Yuan.

Yesterday, after his exam, he went to return the car, but only the owner was at the shop. And today, Zhao Yuan doesn't seem to be in the classroom either.

"What is the reason for Zhao Yuan's absence from the exam?" Qin Chu asked.

Before Noah could answer, two or three boys brushed past him, discussing Zhao Yuan's missed exam: "When Zhao Yuan from Class One came to school, the Chinese exam was almost over. He missed the entire exam, which is usually his strong suit. This is a huge loss for him..."

Qin Chu clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Noah asked, "Sir, what's wrong? Do you feel guilty because you stole his electric scooter and that's why he's late?"

"It was borrowed," Qin Chu emphasized, continuing as he walked. "The Chinese exam is two hours long, and the walk from that shop to the school is at most half an hour. He was two hours late; he should have been able to get there by crawling."

Although it was just a simple lateness, Qin Chu vaguely sensed that Zhao Yuan, this mission target, was not easy to deal with.

Noah's next words corroborated Qin Chu's guess: "Zhao Yuan's reason for missing the exam is rather special. Even Zhou Sisi was essentially forced into the fight and lost her eligibility for the college entrance exam. But Zhao Yuan... he was still fighting when the exam was about to start, so he voluntarily missed the exam."

After hearing Noah's information, Qin Chu did not respond. He walked silently all the way to the boys' dormitory building before speaking: "You set the wrong mission objective. You should have sent me to restore order."

Noah: "..." How persistent must he be?
