Глава 40

Qin Chu: "..."

When this guy gets really talkative, he can chatter like a flock of ducks.

Qin Chu, unable to bear it any longer, directly used words to control the situation: "Get out."

The footsteps gradually faded away, followed by the sound of a door opening.

The bedroom finally became completely quiet.

But this precious silence lasted less than two seconds before the door clicked open again.

Qin Chu turned his head and saw that, damn it, this guy had actually come back again.

The hunter sighed dramatically, "I looked around, and all the rooms are locked. I guess I'll just have to stay here for half a day."

Qin Chu: "...No one is forcing you to settle."

Seeing that Qin Chu was about to lose his temper and hit someone, Noah quickly spoke up to stop him: "Sir, our progress bar only increased because you let this hunter go last time. So for the sake of the mission, you must restrain yourself."

General Qin was so frustrated that he could only retract his hard fist.

K was completely oblivious to the risk of getting beaten up. He seemed to have found something interesting, and he was even more energetic than at night.

Instead of remaining huddled in the corner, the hunter stood at the edge of the shadows, using his superior height to peer at the coffin in the middle of the bedroom. After a while, the hunter's eyebrows twitched slightly.

The coffin lid was not closed, and the inside was lined with neat red velvet cloth.

Even if servants cleaned it daily, the scent of vampires would still linger in the commonly used coffins. However, the scent emanating from this coffin was very faint, indicating that... no one had slept in it for at least some time.

Qin Chu was dozing with his eyes closed when he suddenly heard the hunter say out of the blue, "I've heard that some newborn vampires don't sleep in coffins."

Not knowing what this person was up to, Qin Chu opened his eyes and looked over impatiently.

The hunter continued casually, "Because... these little bastards are naturally afraid of the dark and dare not stay in dark, enclosed environments."

As he spoke, he met Qin Chu's eyes, his smile widening, and asked with feigned surprise, "So... Your Highness, you're not as afraid as these little brats, are you?"

Qin Chu: "..."

Before he could react, Noah in his mind was already on edge. Telling their superior was afraid was just as powerful as telling a man he couldn't.

Given Qin Chu's consistent personality, Noah feared that Qin Chu would cripple the vampire hunter, causing their hard-won progress of five percent to plummet back to the minimum.

Noah was worried when he saw Qin Chu make a move.

He stood up abruptly, causing the chair behind him to slide backward quite a bit.

But to Noah's surprise, Qin Chu did not walk towards the hunter.

He pursed his lips and walked heavily to the coffin, stepped inside, and lay down.

...and he didn't forget to put the coffin lid on for himself.

This set of movements was executed in one smooth motion, like flowing water, fully demonstrating General Qin's determination to prove that he was not afraid at all.

The hunter's unrestrained laughter suddenly rang out from outside the coffin.

Noah's feelings were very complicated.

He couldn't understand why, despite all his previous persuasion and even presenting data, Qin Chu refused to lie down in the coffin and sleep peacefully. And now, with that stinky man outside casually asking, "Are you scared?", Qin Chu had simply lay down inside!

Should he shut himself off for a while?

Qin Chu lay in the coffin, holding his breath and trying to suppress his explosive temper.

He hadn't been lying down for long when he heard two soft "thump-thump" sounds from the coffin lid, and then the coffin lid was pushed open a crack.

Through a crack, the hunter crouched outside the coffin, looking at him with surprise: "This coffin is so hot, you actually lay down in it?"

The veins on Qin Chu's forehead were about to bulge out.

"Are you asking for a beating?"

Unable to bear it any longer, Qin Chu reached out and grabbed the hunter by the collar, pulling him closer.

With a "whoosh," the coffin lid, which had only been slightly ajar, moved outward a little more.

K smiled and looked down at the long, strong fingers at the collar: "Don't be so grumpy, I just came to say hello."

Qin Chu chuckled, then flipped over and pulled K into the coffin, pinning him down: "If you want to sleep in a coffin so badly, I can grant your wish."

“Your Highness, this invitation is a bit too much.”

Even under pressure, the hunter remained calm and composed. He relaxed his limbs and lay on the red velvet cloth as if he were sleeping on a comfortable bed rather than a coffin.

Qin Chu straightened up, intending to get out of the coffin, but as he leaned back, he immediately felt a burning pain in his back.

A silver gun was pressed against his side back.

From this angle, the bullet would pass diagonally through his heart.

Chapter 32, Second Story (7)

"You came prepared?" Qin Chu looked coldly at the man he had pressed into the coffin.

“That’s right.” K smiled. “I’m very expensive, so naturally I have to do my best to complete my employer’s tasks.”

"Still so dedicated even after becoming a vampire?" Qin Chu narrowed his eyes, showing no sign of panic, only his muscles subconsciously tensed, even his jawline forming a beautiful curve.

"Why don't you beg me? I might soften my stance for a couple of days because you're so beautiful." The hunter looked up and admired Qin Chu for a while, but didn't budge an inch as he pressed the gun against Qin Chu's head.

At this moment, Qin Chu suddenly realized that the danger he was facing was not the gun, but something else.

Inside the cramped coffin, at such close range, the man's scent assaulted Qin Chu's face. Though inappropriate, Qin Chu couldn't help but let out a rumble in his stomach.

At this distance, the sound was incredibly clear, no less than a thunderclap...

Qin Chu: "..." It seems a bit embarrassing.

Noah, who was about to mediate the fight, was left speechless. "..." What should he say?

This situation left K somewhat bewildered. He touched his chin with his free hand and pondered, "Should I feel honored by my attractiveness?"

Taking advantage of the moment, Qin Chu reached back to snatch the gun from K's hand. He gripped the hunter's wrist, his hand surprisingly sticky. And with his movements, the alluring scent became even stronger.

Qin Chu glanced to the side and then noticed that the man was smiling, and you couldn't tell that his hand holding the gun was already covered in sores, with unburnt blood running down his wrist and soaking his shirt sleeve.

"Are you sure you want to keep holding that gun?" Qin Chu said coldly. "If you want to become crippled, then keep going, you lowly vampire."

"Sorry, I suddenly forgot that my identity has changed and I wasn't prepared." K's smile remained unchanged despite his hands being badly burned by the silver gun.

He held the gun steadily with his injured hand, and even leaned halfway up to Qin Chu's ear, whispering, "But... are you worried about me, Your Highness?"

The taste of blood brought out Qin Chu's sharp teeth, and the gleaming tips pressed against his lower lip, creating two shallow indentations.

He didn't even blink when he heard the hunter's teasing. He used force to pry open K's wrist, which was holding the gun.

Surprised by his recklessness, the hunter's eyes widened slightly: "Hey, aren't you afraid this thing might suddenly go off?"

Qin Chu did not answer. Instead, he flicked his wrist to snatch the silver spear from the hunter's hand, as he was very interested in the weapon.

K clicked his tongue and tossed the gun high into the air. He grabbed Qin Chu's shoulder with one hand, and with a jerk of his body, their positions were flipped again. After subduing Qin Chu, he caught the falling gun with his other hand, tossed it back in its heat, and then put it into the holster on his back.

The holster was hidden under the hem of his shirt, so Qin Chu hadn't noticed it.

After placing the gun, K looked down at Qin Chu.

His Highness's hair was somewhat disheveled, and because of his thirst for blood, not only were his fangs exposed, but his eyes were also slightly red.

As a vampire hunter, this kind of appearance was all too common. But K had never appreciated it so closely before, because it represented the vampire's bestial nature. No matter how elegant the behavior or how deceptive the appearance, it all shattered in this moment.

But Qin and Chu were different.

When K first saw it, the fangs representing bestiality and the cold, restrained expression appeared in such a harmonious way.

He was clearly thirsting for blood to the point of being unable to control himself, yet he remained calm, even indifferent. Such an expression always made one want to…do something drastic.

K's fingers, which were pressing down on Qin Chu's neck, moved slightly, and the blood on his thumb smeared onto the corner of Qin Chu's lips, adding a striking red to his fair, almost translucent skin.

Seeing Qin Chu's disgusted pursed lips, the hunter coaxed him gently, "Really not going to drink anything? Don't worry, I won't point a gun at you."

Qin Chu's voice remained as cold as if it had been chilled by ice water: "I'm very picky about what I put in my mouth."

Hearing this, K didn't press further. He straightened up slightly and licked his protruding fangs with the tip of his tongue: "But I think I can't resist anymore. Would you mind if I took a bite, Your Highness?"

Qin Chu laughed angrily: "You can try if you dare."

The hunter sighed, "But you turned me into a vampire, and now you're not taking responsibility."

He lowered his head, slightly opened his mouth, and gestured twice near Qin Chu's neck, muttering, "But I usually drink rat blood, so you'll have to bear with it."

Qin Chu's brow twitched, but he didn't move.

K stopped what he was doing and looked at Qin Chu with a smile: "Why are you being so obedient now?"

"What do you think?" Qin Chu looked up and met his eyes, her gaze filled with extreme calmness.

At that moment, the hunter suddenly heard the sound of the clasp being released. He reacted quickly, about to jump out of the coffin. But he was too slow; a searing pain shot through him as the muzzle of a gun pressed against his back.

"You want to bite me? Keep biting!" Qin Chu kicked the man over and looked down at the hunter who was lying obediently in the coffin.

K's throat was pressed down by his knee, and he couldn't make a sound, but he still mouthed, "Beauty can be deceiving."

Qin Chu couldn't understand the lip-reading in this world, but he felt that it must be cursing him.

He couldn't beat him up, and he couldn't kill him. So General Qin raised an eyebrow, reached out, and was about to draw a turtle on that smug face with his gun.

As the silver gun was pointed at his face, K reacted even more strongly than when the gun was pressed against his waist: "Hey, let's make a deal, don't hit me in the face."

This man was incredibly strong, and his close-combat skills were exceptionally excellent, making it difficult for Qin Chu to suppress him. During the fight, a tearing sound was heard, and the hunter's shirt was ripped open, revealing his muscular chest.

Then someone kicked over the coffin lid.

With a loud bang, the heavy stone coffin lid slammed onto the floor, creating a deafening roar.

The sound was so loud that Qin Chu suddenly felt the scene was somewhat familiar.

Sure enough, a few moments later, rapid footsteps could be heard outside, followed by a knock on Qin Chu's bedroom door.

Qin Chu and K, who were lying in the coffin, looked at each other and belatedly realized that the scene might be a little misunderstood.

The two exchanged a glance and tacitly prepared to part ways.

But at that moment, the silver spear the two were fighting over suddenly went off erratically. With a "bang," a bullet grazed the edge of the coffin and entered the thick walls of the castle.
