Kapitel 9

"Yes, all we need is his photo. Quick, quick, go get it! We can't let them get away with this!"

“But…” Sisi murmured. “He said he would come back to me after he broke off the engagement.”

"Are you an idiot!" Du Lili blurted out. "That's just sweet talk, don't you understand?"

Silk still uttered a "but." "He doesn't seem like that kind of person!"

Shen Ruyou closed her eyes patiently.

"Hey Sisi, go get the photos first, then we'll see if he really doesn't seem like that kind of person, okay?"

As Sisi hurriedly approached her rented apartment, she saw a very elegant and beautiful lady standing at the door, knocking on it. She hesitated and slowed her pace.

Who are you looking for?

Upon hearing the voice, the young lady turned around and looked her up and down for a long time.

'You...you must be Casey?'

Sisi paused, taken aback. "Yes, that's me. And who are you?"

The young woman smiled defiantly. "My name is Helen, you've heard of me, haven't you? Joel's fiancée, huh?"

Her heart tightened, and she bit her lip. "I know."

“That’s good. Joel asked me to inform you that we are preparing for the wedding, which will be held in about a week. He hopes you will not bother him. As for compensation…” Helen glanced at her contemptuously.

"Just ask, and I'll try my best to accommodate you."

Sisi lowered her eyes listlessly. 'Why didn't she come and tell me herself?'

"I'm afraid you'll cling to him and won't let him go!" Helen snorted. "Actually, it's all the same. I've always been the one handling these things for him. You're not the first one either. You know yourself that it's hard for a woman to refuse him, don't you?"

She had nothing more to say.

“I think you truly love him too, what woman doesn’t?” Helen patted her sympathetically.

"But if you truly love him, you shouldn't cling to him; you should let him pursue his own happiness, shouldn't you?"

Pursuing happiness? Bullshit! Men like him really need to be taught a lesson!

But... she lied to him too, didn't she? If she hadn't intentionally lied to him, she wouldn't have suffered this loss. Perhaps this is her retribution? Or perhaps heaven is telling her that the job of teaching others a lesson shouldn't be hers.

But most importantly, she loved him and truly wanted him to be happy, regardless of whether he had lied to her or how terrible he was.

She simply loves him!

Chapter Four: "Twined threads of affection" by Yu Xin

Joel sighed deeply. "So you left?" Sisi nodded sadly.

He sighed again, "Baby, I think I have to explain to you why I got engaged to Helen in the first place." He paused. "Actually, we weren't officially engaged. She pursued me for a long time, but I never agreed to be with her. So she announced to the outside world that we were already engaged, trying to force me to give in."

"Because Helen's family and my family have been friends for generations, our relationship can be traced back three generations. We've always maintained close ties. She knew I wouldn't actively deny it and embarrass her, otherwise it would easily destroy this long-cultivated friendship." Joel gave a bitter smile. "Later, when I told her I had fallen in love with you and decided to marry you, she was really cunning. She lied to me, hoping to give herself the opportunity to break off the engagement so she could save face. I think she used this time to get rid of you. When I went back to find you, you were already gone. I tried to find you, but you gave me only false clues, which were of no use." He sighed softly. "For the next ten years, I kept asking myself, why did you lie to me? And why did you leave me? I even moved the headquarters from New York to here specifically for you, subconsciously hoping you would come back to me." He closed his eyes painfully. "But you never showed up. I really don't understand. I love you so much, why did you treat me like that? Although we didn't spend much time together, I fell in love with you almost at first sight. Remember? I even impulsively kissed you back then. God, I've never done anything like that before! And yet you've made me suffer and resent for ten years, leaving me living in confusion for ten years!" Sisi stared at him dumbfounded until he finished speaking, then she finally broke down in tears. "Oh, I'm sorry, Joe, I'm so sorry, I... God, what did I do to you?" she sobbed hoarsely.

Seeing her cry, his heart ached instantly, and all his resentment vanished in a flash, leaving only heartache and reluctance.

"No, don't cry, baby, don't cry, your crying breaks my heart!" Joel kissed her lips and hair urgently, stroking her back with his hands to comfort her from the shock.

"But I...I'm so sorry!" Sisi choked back tears, feeling guilty. "I was lying to you from the very beginning, and in the end I even doubted your character. I..."

"I really can't face you again!" "Nonsense!" he immediately scolded her anxiously. "You're not allowed to leave me again, do you hear me? I absolutely won't allow you to leave me again!" "But I... I'm so sorry, so very sorry..." She was filled with shame and couldn't stop her tears.

Joel gently patted her back. "Shh... It's okay, it's all in the past, baby, it's all in the past. As long as you still love me, I don't care about anything else. Now, think about how you plan to make it up to me." "But... but... there's one more thing... you... you'll definitely kill me!" Sisi didn't know how to tell him about her son. Just imagining his anger at being deceived made her anxious and confused.

"Really? Let's talk about it later. There's plenty of time in the future. Tell me when you have the chance. As for now..." He knew what she was worried about, so he decided to let her worry a little longer as a form of punishment.

"But...but..." "No buts!" Joel said decisively, "Right now, the most important thing is that I want to rub you, suck you, bite you, and you have to satisfy my appetite." He put his hands on her breasts and gently caressed them.

"Oh... Joe..." she moaned languidly and weakly, his movements so alluring that they aroused her once more.

"Joe, please..." "Tell me," he kissed her rosy cheek, his warm breath brushing against her earlobe. "You belong to me." "Yes, Joe, I belong to you, and always have!" And so, in their deep affection and joy, they passionately entwined themselves in love.

Joel gently closed the door, walked to the bar, poured himself a drink, and took a sip. "What, you're still here? Want a drink?" Big David looked at Joel's satisfied smile with amusement from the sofa. "You look like a bear that just stole a whole jar of honey." Joel's suit jacket was gone, his tie was nowhere to be found, his shirt was just draped over his shoulders, revealing his thick chest hair, and... he was even barefoot!

"Really?" Joel casually walked to the high-backed chair, sat down, and put his feet on the desk.

David, standing nearby, noticed Joel's feet resting on the contract and shook his head in disbelief, saying, "Is this something that workaholic who claims to put work first would do?" He then sat down at the table.

"Okay, what exactly did you guys do just now..." The knocking on the door interrupted David.

"Come in." Jasmine came in carrying several documents. "President, these are..." She suddenly fell silent, staring in astonishment at the president, who was disheveled, barefoot, and lazily sitting on the table, while the vice president sat on the table, one foot on the chair in front of him, grinning at her.

Good heavens! She'd been the CEO's secretary for seven years, and all she ever saw was his serious, unsmiling side. She'd never known he could be so casual and relaxed. She'd never even seen him smile, and now he was smiling so sexily and charmingly!

"The report from the Japanese branch? Just leave it there; I doubt he's in the mood to read it right now." David chuckled as he watched Jasmine's mouth gape in surprise, and Joel take a sip of his drink before leaning back and even closing his eyes.

"Is there anything else?" David kindly reminded Jasmine, who seemed to have forgotten why she came in.

"Huh? Ah! Oh! Um... Princess Chris's PR person called to say that the princess is going to the US for vacation next week, and she would be extremely grateful if the president could spare the time to entertain her." "No time!" Joel said impatiently, maintaining the same posture.
