Eure Majestät - Kapitel 4

Kapitel 4

"Then, why are you holding scissors?" Ouyang Han didn't believe Du Peiru's words.

"Idiot! If I don't bleed on my first night, I'll be drowned in the gossip of all those aunties and gossips! Although I don't really care about these things, it's better to avoid trouble and suffer a little for peace of mind! Give me the scissors!"

Ouyang Han didn't say anything. He pulled up his sleeve, picked up the scissors, and cut his wrist.

"Wow! You idiot! Do you want to die? You're clearly sick, yet you're still acting tough! What if something happens?" Du Peiru cried as she used the red headscarf to stop his bleeding.

Seeing her panicked expression, Ouyang Han felt a surge of sweetness in his heart, so he slowly said, "There's some wound medicine in that cabinet!"

Upon hearing this, Du Peiru hurriedly searched for the medicine and applied it to his wound.

Just then, there was another knock on the door.

Du Peiru quickly packed her things and went to open the door.

"Good morning, young mistress!" A maid in pink and a maid in green greeted Du Peiru.

"I am Xiao Cui, and this is Xiao Hong. We are here to help the young master and young mistress with their washing and grooming!" said the maid in green.

"Hmm!" Du Peiru responded.

A maidservant brought in water for washing the face, a towel, and salt, and placed them down. She then curtsied to Ouyang Han and said, "Good morning, young master!"

"Hmm! You all help the young mistress with her washing and grooming first!" Ouyang Han said in a magnetic voice.

"Yes!" The two maids finished speaking and tried to help Du Peiru get dressed.

Du Peiru quickly said, "No need! Jin'er will be here soon. I'm not used to being served by others!" After saying that, Du Peiru dressed herself.

After the two maids finished helping Ouyang Han with his washing and dressing, Jin'er still hadn't arrived.

So Ouyang Han said, "Why don't you wash your face first?"

"No! I don't want to wash with the water you used!" Du Peiru said.

"Then I'll let you wash first from now on!" Ouyang Han said cheekily, pressing himself against Du Peiru. Du Peiru pushed him away, but he immediately clung to her again. Du Peiru didn't dare to go too far in front of the two maids. So she instructed them, "After you two finish cleaning up, go and bring over breakfast!"

"Yes!" The two maids quickly packed their things and took the bloodstained bed sheet with them. They even closed the door behind them before leaving.

Seeing that the maid had already left, Du Peiru immediately scolded, "Hey! You're going too far! Don't stick to me!" Du Peiru pushed Ouyang Han away in disgust.

"You're my wife, if I don't cling to you, who else should I cling to?" Ouyang Han said shamelessly.

"I don't care! Just don't stick to me!" Du Peiru said resentfully.

“But I just love being close to you! You have a fresh scent. I love smelling it!” Ouyang Han said cheekily.

"Ouyang Han!!" Du Peiru shouted loudly, her eyes bloodshot with anger at Ouyang Han.

"Here! What are your orders, my lady?" Ouyang Han replied, oblivious to the danger.

"You..." Du Peiru was about to start "machine gun fire" when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Ouyang Han was thankful that someone had come to his rescue, otherwise he would have been torn apart and swallowed whole by this raging tigress.

"Miss! I'm so sorry! I slept in late and it's too late to fetch water for you to wash up," Jin'er said apologetically.

When she saw Du Peiru's ashen face, she immediately asked anxiously, "Miss, are you... are you angry with me?"

"No! I'm not angry with you!" Du Peiru replied.

After washing Du Peiru's face, Jin'er helped her comb her hair.

Du Peiru asked, "Jin'er, could you help me style my hair like it did a few days ago?"

“Miss, you are now a new bride, you can no longer wear that hairstyle!” Jin’er reminded Du Peiru.

"Jin'er, don't wear so many hair ornaments! They're too heavy!"

"Miss, you're meeting your in-laws later, so you need to look your best and be presentable!"

"I'm so angry!" Du Peiru slammed her hand on the table and cursed as soon as she got back to her room. "That shameless thing stepped on my skirt, making me look bad in front of so many people, and even burned me!"

“Miss, didn’t you also pretend to fall down again and spill another pot of boiling tea on the second young master’s wet nurse, Mama Li?” After spending a few days with Du Peiru, Jin’er had become used to Du Peiru’s words and actions.

Once back in his room, Ouyang Han started rummaging through the medicine bottles in the cabinet, occasionally making clinking and jingling noises.

"Young Master, what are you looking for? Do you need my help?" Jin'er asked.

"Ah! Here it is! I found it!" Ouyang Han said happily, holding a medicine bottle.

At this moment, Du Peiru was still cursing: "That second wife is no good either. She's always staring at me with her snobbish eyes, making me feel uncomfortable all over..."

Ouyang Han seemed not to have heard Du Peiru's words, walked up to her and gently asked, "Where did you get burned?"

"Uh!" Du Peiru exclaimed after a moment of surprise, "Hand, hand!"

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Han tugged at her sleeve and said, "Why is it all red? I wonder if it will blister!" As he spoke, Ouyang Han helped Du Peiru apply the medicine.

"What medicine did you apply to me? It feels so refreshing!"

"A precious nectar! It can cure burns!"

"Th...thank you!" Du Peiru felt very touched by Ouyang Han's thoughtfulness and gentleness, and a blush appeared on her face.

"Tonight, you'll sleep in the same bed as me." Learning from last night's experience, Du Peiru felt that even kissing his lips was better than kissing his toes. Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! Bad things don't work, good things do. I won't kiss his lips. I'll catch germs! How could I have thought of that… Du Peiru's face flushed red to her ears.

"Ha! Ha! Ha... Heh, heh, heh..." Ouyang Han couldn't help but burst into laughter as he recalled what happened that morning.

"Laugh! Laugh until your mouth cramps!" Du Peiru glared at him and said.

But Ouyang Han continued to laugh. Du Peiru was so angry that she pulled and twisted his face.

Ouyang Han found Du Peiru's angry expression incredibly cute, so he couldn't resist pulling her into his arms and hugging her.

"What are you doing?" Du Peiru pushed him away forcefully.

"N-nothing!" Ouyang Han said helplessly. He didn't understand why he had suddenly lost his mind.

(19)

"Uh! Oh! No, it's nothing, then, then let's go to sleep!" Du Peiru didn't know what to say, her face as red as Guan Yu's. So she got into bed fully clothed and lay on her side facing the wall.

Seeing this, Ouyang Han blew out the candle, climbed into bed, and lay there motionless. The two remained silent all night.

That night, Du Peiru had another dream. She dreamt that she was sleeping while hugging a large teddy bear. The teddy bear was so warm! It felt so comfortable to hug. Du Peiru couldn't help but kiss it. Suddenly, she remembered that she had returned to ancient times, so why was she having a teddy bear? So she decided to open her eyes to take a closer look. What she saw was a huge, handsome face, and her lips were still on Ouyang Han's lips. She screamed, then immediately sat up and frantically wiped her lips with her sleeve.

"Do you have mouth ulcers? Why are you wiping your lips so frantically?" Ouyang Han said after being woken up by Du Peiru's scream.

"You're the one with mouth ulcers! You have hand sores, foot sores, sores all over your body! You bastard, you got the better deal and you're still acting innocent. My first kiss was ruined by you, and while I was asleep!" How hateful! I didn't even get to taste my first kiss! Du Peiru added in her mind.

"You mean you assaulted me in my dream and forcibly kissed my lips?"

"Pah! I'd rather kiss a pig than kiss you!"

"Wow! I didn't know you had this kind of hobby! Should I get one for you?"

"You're the one who has a penchant for kissing pigs!" Du Peiru glared at Ouyang Han and said.

"No! I'd rather kiss you than kiss a pig!" Ouyang Han said, then pulled Du Peiru close and pressed his lips to hers.

Du Peiru felt dizzy and lightheaded after being kissed by Ouyang Han, and it wasn't until she was almost out of breath that she regained her senses. She then abruptly pushed Ouyang Han away.

Du Peiru gasped for breath. She realized she might have fallen for Ouyang Han, but when she remembered he was a dying man, she decided not to let herself be hurt later.

Ouyang Han thought that Du Peiru was not ready yet, so he did not force her.

The third day was the day for the bride to return to her parents' home. Du Peiru happily got up early to dress up and prepare for the return visit.

Ouyang Han was forbidden from escorting the bride back to her parents' home due to his poor health. However, he got up early in the morning and followed Du Peiru around.

"Why have you been following me?" Du Peiru asked, glaring at Ouyang Han.

"My lady, please let me go back to your parents' home with you, okay? I promise I won't have a relapse!" Ouyang Han said, feigning a pitiful state to gain sympathy.

(20)

"Hey! Just stay home and don't cause me any trouble!"

"But I want to go out and see the world! I haven't left the house in ages!" Ouyang Han simply started to whine to Du Peiru. Hmph! Staying at home is so boring, and making her angry, watching her laugh, and appreciating her every move is quite amusing. Without her around, it's utterly boring.

"No! Absolutely not! Jin'er, we're leaving!" It wasn't that she was heartless, but she had very important business to attend to today, and keeping him around would prevent her from doing so. So please don't blame her!

"Hmph!" Ouyang Han turned away angrily.

Du Peiru pretended not to see and stepped out of the room.

"You think you can just quit like that? Wouldn't that make me lose face?" Ouyang Han grinned slyly.

"Stop here!" Du Peiru instructed.

Upon hearing this, the coachman immediately reined in the horse to stop and then asked, "Young Madam, we haven't arrived at the Li residence yet!"

“I know! I just forgot to buy something for Dad. You can take the things in the car over first. Tell my dad I'll be back in a bit! You can go back after you've delivered the things! Don't come pick me up tonight, Jin'er and I will hire a car to go back!”

"Yes, young mistress!" the coachman replied respectfully.

After Du Peiru and Jin'er got off the carriage, Jin'er couldn't wait to ask, "Miss, is there anything we haven't bought yet?"

Chapter Three

"I know no, it's just that I don't want to see that old geezer. Besides, I have very important things to do!" Du Peiru said.
