Reply [12]: Real paranormal stories that happened around us

A couple of days ago I went to the historic city of Zunyi. I believe that even if you haven’t been there, you should have heard of this place.

The city isn't big or particularly bustling, but it has a lot of unique and delicious snacks. My third brother took me to try them all, and I had a blast!

One morning at eight o'clock, he woke me up and said he was going to take me to eat the legendary number one mutton rice noodles in Zunyi.

After I finished washing up and getting dressed, I still looked like I hadn't woken up yet, and I followed him downstairs in a daze.

Once we were on the street, I saw Third Brother raise his hand to hail a taxi. I was taken aback: "Seriously, Third Brother? Is it really necessary to take a taxi just to eat mutton noodles?" Third Brother smiled at me: "It is indeed a bit far!"

It really was quite far, crossing most of the city before the car stopped. The first thing I saw when I got out was a very eye-catching red sign about five meters ahead—"Zunyi Teachers College Yiwei Fresh Lamb Rice Noodles" (I think that's what it's called, my memory is a bit hazy).

Wow... the store was packed! I glanced around and there were practically no seats available. I looked down at my watch—it's Tuesday! It's still working hours, and business is already this booming?

While my third brother was queuing, I followed his instructions and bought two steaming hot fried dough cakes from the stall in front of the shop. He said that when we ate them, we should tear them into small pieces and soak them in mutton soup. They were incredibly delicious. That's the only word I'll say.

Actually, watching the chef busily cooking noodles and adding seasonings next to that huge pot in the restaurant is a real treat. It's practically an art! In all my years, having eaten so many beef or mutton noodle soups, I've never seen a chef cook noodles with such unique movements as this one. He's not tall, has a buzz cut, and is a very thin middle-aged man.

His movements were fast, skillful, and even somewhat dazzling. His body swayed rhythmically with each movement, sometimes rising and falling, like he was dancing.

A short while later, we were all seated and starting to eat. Hmm... the taste in my mouth... it's like a sweet and sour feeling... Oh, sorry, wrong advertising phrase. It should be very fresh with a hint of spiciness. In short, it's very enjoyable. But while we were eating, my third brother told me something that made my scalp tingle and my whole body break out in goosebumps. All for two reasons: 1the truth. 2the mysterious and enigmatic.

The protagonist of this story is the mother of one of Third Brother's very close female friends.

I'll briefly recount this story here; I dare not recall it too much, after all... I'm still very vulnerable.

When her mother was very young, one day she was playing with some friends in front of their house, just like any other child. As they played, an old carpenter passed by. Suddenly, he stopped in his hurry and stared at her mother for a long time without saying a word. Imagine, wouldn't a little girl be frightened by a stranger staring at her for so long? Her mother was terrified and started crying. Her grandmother rushed out to see what was wrong. At that moment, the old carpenter said something very simple to her grandmother: "Your child will face a major calamity at 47. If she can't overcome it, her life will be in danger!" Then he turned and left without looking back. Her grandmother yelled at the old carpenter's retreating back, "You're crazy! Your child is the one who's crazy!" No one took it seriously, and gradually no one mentioned it again. But her mother never forgot it.

Time flies, and years pass quickly. Her mother has grown into a young woman, and like all women in this world, she has fallen in love, gotten married, and had children.

Unfortunately, her mother's first child died mysteriously a few months after birth. A year later, she had another child, who also died suddenly before reaching one year old. This terrified the whole family. What happened? The child seemed perfectly healthy at birth; how could he just be gone like that? The cousin-in-law secretly consulted a very famous local fortune teller for her mother. The fortune teller gave an explanation that left everyone speechless: "The reason your second child died suddenly before reaching one year old is because the spirit of your first child is lingering!"

The family, of course, didn't believe this answer. But the fortune teller then revealed an even more astonishing secret: "I know you won't believe me. But do you dare come with me right now to the place where you buried your first child, and dig him up to see! He's still exactly the same as when you buried him!"

This... How is this possible?! The first child has been dead for several years; he should be nothing but bones by now. How could he still look the same as he did back then?! Although I couldn't accept it rationally, seeing the fortune teller's confident demeanor, I couldn't help but be skeptical. After struggling internally for a while, I decided to dig it up and see for myself.

Upon arriving at the cemetery, they gritted their teeth and dug open the grave. My God! Several women present fainted at the sight of the grave. Those who were braver took a few steps forward and peeked out, only to turn deathly pale! For inside the grave wasn't a skeleton, but a plump, healthy baby. It looked as if the baby had just been buried the night before. There wasn't a trace of decay in its body. Keep in mind, this was a baby who had been buried for almost three years!

The facts are undeniable. Her mother had no choice but to follow the fortune teller's advice, cremate the child on the spot, and bury him elsewhere. She also performed rituals and burned paper money. Two years later, she successfully gave birth to another daughter, who is my third brother's confidante. She is twenty-one this year. I won't reveal her name.

Time passed slowly, days turned page by page, and before she knew it, her mother was 46 years old. One day, while cooking in the kitchen, she suddenly blacked out and lost consciousness. She was rushed to the hospital, where the diagnosis was cruel: late-stage cancer. The whole family exhausted all their resources, but they couldn't stop death from approaching. One day, her mother told her husband, who was watching over her at her bedside, about a childhood encounter with an old carpenter. Her father, who had never believed in such superstitious things, succumbed at this moment. He was willing to try anything to save his wife's life. After much inquiry, he finally learned from a friend about a very skilled fortune teller in Anshun, Guizhou. He rushed there, hoping to find a way to avert this calamity. But when he arrived, he barely stepped into the fortune teller's residence, exchanged a glance with him, and before he could ask anything, he had no chance to speak or ask anything. The fortune teller stood up, blocked his way, and pushed him away, repeatedly saying, "Get out of here! Get out of here! I can't tell your fate!"

Perhaps it was truly fate; her mother passed away on the morning of her 47th birthday. All her efforts ultimately could not reverse this inevitable end.

I don't know how you feel after reading this. I only know that I feel a little sad and a little inexplicably afraid.

I believe this story to be true for two reasons: 1No one would joke about their own mother.

2I know about the relationship between Third Brother and her, so she has no reason to lie to Third Brother.

So, I believe you, do you?

Reply [20]: Do you want these pretty clothes?

My grandmother passed away when she was not yet 60 years old; she was very young!

Grandma died of heart disease. This story happened before she passed away, during the last time she woke up from her coma—it was 3 a.m. My dad was keeping watch. That night, the hospital was quiet, everyone was sound asleep. Suddenly, my dad, half-asleep, heard Grandma calling out. He woke up and heard her shouting, "No! No! Go away, go away! I really don't want to!"

Dad was overjoyed, knowing that Grandma had woken up from her long coma of more than 20 days. He immediately rushed to her bedside. Strangely enough, Grandma was very clear-headed, without any of the confusion she had experienced during her long coma. She pointed to the door and tightly grasped Dad's hand, saying, "Look! Those two in red vests! They insisted that I pick out a piece of clothing from the suitcase they brought!" Dad looked in the direction Grandma was pointing, but saw nothing. Dad pressed the call button by Grandma's bedside, calling out loudly, "Mom, are you awake? Do you recognize me?" Grandma snapped out of her daze, pointed at Dad, and exclaimed, "Ah! As soon as you spoke, they left! That's great! They're gone!" Dad asked, puzzled, "Who?" Grandma took a deep breath, her tired, dazed expression returning, and said, "You don't know, just now two men in red vests came carrying a big box with lots of pretty clothes inside. They came up to me and kept trying to get me to take them. I didn't want them, so I told them to leave, but they wouldn't. They kept pestering me until I got angry and yelled. Then I saw you come over and talk to me, and that's when they left. Look, those two men I told you to look at earlier! I saw them go next door!"

Dad was stunned: "A person? Who??? I didn't see anything just now???"

"You..." Grandma was about to speak when the nurse came in. Just then, the call bell rang in the next room. The nurse put Grandma down and went to the next room. A moment later, crying could be heard from next door...

When the nurse returned to Grandma's room, she told her, "Grandma, you're very lucky. The old lady next door who was admitted to the hospital on the same day as you just passed away! She suddenly stopped breathing right when you woke up..."

Upon hearing this, Grandma's face suddenly turned pale, and she fell silent. After the nurse left, she said to Dad, "Thank goodness, you know, you saved my life! Those two men in red vests were there to take me away… The clothes they wanted were my burial clothes… If… if you hadn't woken me up… if, if I had taken those clothes, then… then…"

Startled, Dad exclaimed, "Mom, don't talk nonsense!"
