Chapitre 49

Seeing her resistant expression, he took advantage of his height and strength to push the door open from above her.

Before Shi Ling could react, the door could no longer withstand the force and spun around.

She looked at Chi Cheng with eyes full of anger. She couldn't budge him no matter how hard she tried, and the door was pushed all the way down.

What are you doing?

Chi Cheng didn't reply to her; he stared incredulously at the scene inside the room.

Xu Yiting was shirtless, wearing a bath towel, and was drying his hair as if he had just taken a shower. Shi Ling had also changed into her pajamas, and her hair was still a little damp.

If he still can't understand, then he's stupid.

Chi Cheng was always proud, but seeing this scene today was as painful as having his eyes pierced with needles.

When he looked at Shi Ling again, his features were contorted with rage, his temples throbbed, his eyes were bloodshot, and his jaw was clenched tightly.

"Shi Ling".

He gritted his teeth and managed to utter the second half of the sentence with great difficulty, as if he had stabbed himself in the heart.

"You fucking slept with someone else, didn't you?"

When Chi Cheng said "Is it?", he was so angry that he couldn't help but grab Shi Ling's collar and question her almost face to face.

Before Shi Ling could explain, Xu Yiting heard the commotion, put down the hairdryer, and stood up.

At first, accompanied by the roar of the hairdryer, only the other person could hear them speak, and their anger amplified, which didn't seem ridiculous.

However, now that things have quieted down, Chi Cheng feels ridiculous.

Xu Yiting walked over and stood behind Shi Ling. He was the same height as Chi Cheng, and the two looked at each other.

Chi Cheng had already loosened Shi Ling's collar and was staring at him with eyes full of anger.

Xu Yiting knew he had probably misunderstood. He looked down at Shi Ling, wanting to gauge her reaction before acting.

That one glance stung Chi Cheng even more; the two of them were so perfectly in sync.

Chi Cheng's mind went blank, and his anger flared up.

He was so angry that he didn't care about losing face in front of Shi Ling. Shi Ling had gone to such lengths with others, so how could he be rational?

My body moved faster than my brain; I had already thrown a punch.

Xu Yiting reacted quickly, turning his head to the side. Chi Cheng punched the door, which slammed against the wall and bounced back with a loud bang.

Chi Cheng then regained some of his composure.

My hands were shaking so badly they were numb, so I gripped them tightly and placed them at my side.

He closed his eyes, gritting his teeth, "Shi Ling, you fucking..."

Chi Cheng swallowed the rest of his sentence, then laughed self-deprecatingly, "I'm such a fucking idiot."

Chi Cheng gave her and Xu Yiting a deep look, his tone ambiguous, "I will never bother you again."

Just as Chi Cheng was about to turn around, two greetings came from behind him, "What's going on?"

"Damn it, what's the sound?"

Fang Ze and Zhao Yongbin were clearly startled by the noise of him banging on the door. They came out of the room and stared in disbelief at the three people in front of them.

Chapter 34 "Overnight Tea"

The color has thinned; the tea ceremony emphasizes novelty and avoids letting the tea cool down.

Who is like stale tea spilled into the sea of people on the other side of the river?

Let overnight love and hate turn into dregs.

---- "Overnight Tea"

Upon hearing Fang Ze and Zhao Yongbin's voices, Chi Cheng froze, his face darkening as he brushed past them.

He bluntly replied, "Nothing."

He slammed the door shut with a loud bang, creating a gust of wind as it closed.

The remaining people looked at each other in bewilderment. Fang Ze and Zhao Yongbin were not novices; it would be stupid if they couldn't figure out what was going on after seeing this.

Chi Cheng usually had an arrogant demeanor and didn't show any particular interest in Shi Ling, while Zhao Yongbin was more attentive, which surprised them.

Chi Cheng slammed the door and went back to his room, leaving the others feeling awkward.

Fang Ze and Zhao Yongbin were naturally curious whether Chi Cheng had failed in his pursuit of Shi Ling, or whether the two had originally had a relationship.

Moreover, they knew each other when they were studying for IELTS, and they've always had this attitude. Maybe they had some unknown love-hate relationship before.

But in such a situation, with a shirtless man standing behind Shi Ling, how could they possibly ask her a question?

Zhao Yongbin chuckled, "I was so engrossed in writing my thesis that I started hallucinating."

He turned and quickly fled back into his room.

Fang Ze was a little slow to react and was stopped by Shi Ling, "Fang Ze, would you mind lending me a set of clothes?"

She gestured to Xu Yiting, "He got caught in the rain and doesn't have any clothes."

Fang Ze responded with an "oh".

After a while, Fang Ze brought over the clothes, his eyes full of gossip. Shi Ling pretended not to see it.

After Xu Yiting changed his clothes, he called a car to go back.

Shi Lingcai went to the kitchen to wash the cups.

Fang Ze had clearly been paying attention to what was happening outside, and when he heard someone come out, he poked his head into the kitchen.

Fang Ze, relying on his relatively good relationship with Chi Cheng, wasn't afraid that Chi Cheng was in a bad mood. In just a short while, he sent Chi Cheng countless harassing messages, asking him what was going on.

Chi Cheng didn't reply to him; it was already a favor that he didn't block him.

Shi Ling washed the cups and brewed a pot of tea, when she saw Fang Ze peeking in.

He curled his lips into a smile. "Would you like some tea?"

Fang Ze received permission, went back to his room, grabbed a cup, and went into the kitchen.

The kitchen is not just a kitchenware and dining table, but also a sofa area.

Seeing his keen curiosity, Shi Ling sat down and poured him some tea.

Fang Ze couldn't help but ask, "He's gone?"

Shi Ling knew he was referring to Xu Yiting and nodded.

She thought for a moment and then explained, "That's my high school classmate. We got soaked on the way back today, so we borrowed my room to take a shower. I'm making ginger soup in the kitchen. Thank you for your clothes, I'll return them to you later."

Fang Ze thought for a moment and realized that Chi Cheng had misunderstood.

"Isn't it you, cop?"

Shi Ling watched him quietly.

Fang Ze surrendered, "OK, OK, I wanted to see Brother Chi get his comeuppance again. Tsk, what a pity."

Shi Ling did not respond.

Fang Ze kept asking questions, "The two of you?"

He stroked his chin. "Having an affair?"

Since Chi Cheng has gone this far, Shi Ling has nothing to hide.

She was straightforward: "Ex."

Even though Fang Ze had already guessed, he still gasped, "That's fucking exciting!"

His eyes lit up. "When did you two start dating? Did you know each other before the IELTS class?"

“No,” Shi Ling shook her head, “it’s an IELTS class.”

Fang Ze felt that tonight had shattered his worldview. "Holy crap, am I blind? I didn't notice anything from beginning to end."

He blinked, trying hard to remember.

"Holy crap, I remember now. When we were singing karaoke, you kissed Brother Chi."

Shi Ling: "..."

“I remember now, you appeared with Brother Chi at the villa.”

Shi Ling: "..."

Fortunately, Fang Ze didn't connect her appearance in the first-floor restroom with Chi Cheng smoking against the wall.

"And when you were riding naked in London, was Chi harassing you, saying your bra had come loose?"

Shi Ling: "..."

"I'm such a genius. When I first came to England, Chi said he had a girlfriend, but they broke up a few months ago. I never expected it to be you."

Shi Ling: "..."

Fang Ze started talking to himself, and the next second he wished he could transform into Sherlock Holmes.

"Wow, this is so exciting! I thought Brother Chi always looked so cool and was always being chased by girls. I never expected him to be like this."

He almost pounded the sofa with laughter, saying, "I could laugh for a year straight."

Shi Ling picked up the teapot and was about to leave.

Fang Ze stretched his leg onto the coffee table, blocking the exit.

"No, Sister Shi, let's chat a bit more. How did you and Brother Chi break up?"

How did they break up?

Shi Ling thought about his glorious deed of giving up the IELTS exam for the sake of a honey trap.

She pursed her lips and summarized the breakup as, "He didn't take the IELTS exam seriously and wanted to take a gap year."

Fang Ze, upon hearing this, leaned on the sofa and laughed so hard he almost collapsed. "Let me laugh for a while."
