Глава 34

Sehir let out a breath, looked at the sky outside which was not yet fully bright, and reluctantly got up, sighing inwardly as he obediently began preparing everything.

Because of the snow that fell all night, the steps at the entrance were covered in snow, but the snow on the road that the carriage had to take had already been cleared by Isri.

Sehir stood by the window and couldn't help but marvel at how early Isri had gotten up.

Isri went to prepare the carriage, leaving Sehir alone in the room to wait. For some reason, as if something was pushing him, Sehir crawled directly under the bed.

In his own secret little compartment lay a crumpled ship ticket and several large silver notes.

As if possessed, Sehir put the two items in his pocket. As if he had some kind of security, Sehir felt much calmer than usual.

Chapter 55

Isri had prepared the carriage and was about to call Sehir when he found him already standing at the door. Isri went to greet him and bowed.

"Young Master, everything is ready."

Sehir glanced at Isri, grunted, and stepped onto the carriage. The snow on the carriage had been cleared, and blankets and cushions had been thoughtfully placed inside.

This will at least ensure that Sehir doesn't get cold on the road.

——

As with previous journeys, the scenery outside remained largely unchanged, except that the streets appeared whiter.

The prayers went very well. The Greenland Church was packed with people as usual. Sehir's appearances were always coincidental, as if God were truly helping him.

The West Asian continent is famous for its foggy cities, which are shrouded in fog year-round. Only during heavy snowfall can the streets be illuminated again, but such occasions are extremely rare.

But today is different from usual. Today is the brightest day of the year so far, and unfortunately it is also a day of prayer.

Those who worshipped God attributed all this good fortune to the Holy Son, and Cecil was elevated to several levels in an instant. Unfortunately, the Holy Son could not speak on the altar and could only be worshipped by others.

Sehir looked helplessly at these feudal people and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

The prayers ended very late today, and the church was packed with people, all hoping to receive the blessing of the Son of God.

Thanks to them, Sehir could only stand motionless on the altar. Sehir had witnessed the madness of these people before. If he had left this place even half a step, he would probably have been torn to pieces by them.

It took three times longer than usual for the people in the church to catch their breath, and Sehir was finally able to get down from his seat and sit on a bench to rest.

After changing his clothes in the baptismal room, Sehir dragged his tired body out. As soon as he reached the church entrance, everything was as calm as ever.

But just as they took a step, a woman's scream suddenly came from afar, followed by the voices of a man, a child, and an old man.

Sehir turned around and saw a group of people rushing towards him, their faces filled with terror, their feet practically flying.

As they got closer, Sehir could see clearly that the person in front was covered in blood from the waist up. Isri was the first to realize something was wrong and immediately put his arm around Sehir's waist and ran straight towards the second floor of the church.

Sure enough, the swarming crowd rushed into the church, knocking benches everywhere. They didn't care whether they would be punished by God for doing this; they just kept pushing their way inside, as if they were hiding from some monster.

Sehir was pulled to the second floor by Isri beforehand. Standing in a place with a wide open view, Sehir finally came to his senses.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two gunshots rang out from the first floor of the church. Only then could Cecil see clearly that behind the group of people fleeing frantically, a group of people in hospital gowns were holding guns and firing wildly, with several people lying at their feet.

Sehir was startled by the sight before him and was about to quietly back away when suddenly someone downstairs looked up and met Sehir's gaze directly.

Those eyes, gleaming with a cold light, held no expression; their mere stare was enough to send chills down your spine.

Sehir swallowed hard. The person downstairs stared at Sehir with his mouth half open, his emotionless eyes growing colder.

With a loud "bang!", a bullet whizzed past my eyes and struck the wall above me.

The people downstairs opened fire, and almost simultaneously, Islam pulled Sehir back from the railing and threw him against the wall. This was the loudest Islam had ever made.

"What are you standing there for!"

Sehir's back ached from the wall behind him, and tears welled up in his eyes. He looked up at Isri, momentarily speechless.

Just as Isri was about to speak again, the sound of people going up the stairs startled the two people standing on top.

The quiet downstairs of the church was so quiet you could hear every breath. They had stopped firing and seemed to be admiring their toys. The two toys that had escaped were now on the second floor.

They are going upstairs. When they come up, inevitably, neither of the toys will survive.

Islam vaguely remembered the hospital gowns they were wearing; they were specially designed for patients at a mental hospital in the easternmost part of the West Asian continent.

But what's going on now? How did mentally ill people from the east end end up in the city center, even attacking people?

Reasoning with them was clearly not going to work, Isri clicked his tongue inwardly, his eyes rapidly scanning the surroundings for any possible escape routes.

The next second, Isri grabbed Sehir and ran towards the second-floor cubicle, where at least there was a window.

Sehir was completely stiff, his mind a jumbled mess, as if he were back in a slaughterhouse, killing people without blinking an eye, the thick, disgusting blood slowly spreading across the ground.

Isri moved very quickly, and a second before those people came up, he had squeezed himself and Sehir into a room.

Cesir, held tightly to Isri in his arms, spoke haltingly, like a puppet with a broken frame: "Why, it's always me?"

A seemingly random and incoherent statement left Isri speechless. Outside, gunshots were ringing out repeatedly; the people were determined to find them.

Isri led Sehir to the window. There were very few people left outside; only a few daring individuals remained watching.

The gunshots were getting closer; we couldn't wait any longer.

With Sehir in his arms, Isri pushed open the window and jumped from the second floor. Sehir, still in a daze, was suddenly blinded by a burst of sunlight, and his pupils immediately contracted.

He shouted, "Isri! You're insane!"

Fortunately, there was at least one tent-like structure below, and to prevent Cesil from getting hurt, Isri fell down without moving, leaning against it.

Suddenly, he was in excruciating pain. For the first four or five seconds after falling, he was unconscious. People around him scattered, watching the two people who had jumped from the second floor.

Sesil propped himself up and sat up. As soon as he looked up, he saw a pair of dark eyes staring down from the windowsill, fixed intently and motionlessly.

Sehir rushed to pull Isri, who was lying on the ground, his heart pounding so hard it felt like his eardrums would burst.

"Isri! Wake up!"

Chapter 56

Sehir grabbed Isri and shouted, as the people above them stuck out the dark muzzles of their guns, aiming them at the two men below.

Seeing that Isri did not move, Cehir grabbed Isri by the collar and pulled him to the side. Immediately afterward, the bullet struck Isri right next to the ear.

Ceshir was startled and pulled on Isri even tighter until he dragged him to the corner of the wall before he could catch his breath.

After a while, Islam woke up with a cough, his bones feeling incredibly dry, as if old branches were scraping against him.

Isri frowned slightly, turned to look at Ceshir sitting next to him, and said in a weak voice, "I'm sorry, young master, I startled you."

Upon hearing Isri's voice, Ceshir turned around hastily, his eyes filled with surprise, but his tone remained unchanged: "Are you crazy! Are you out of your mind?"

Isri smiled slightly, a hint of amusement in his eyes: "I won't die before I get the young master."

Suddenly, Seshir was taken aback by Isri's words, and Isri was also momentarily stunned. Before Seshir could react, he heard Isri speak again.

"Young Master, we have to go, or they'll come after us."

One sentence brought Cesil back to his senses. He stood up and held out his hand to Isri: "Let's go."

Without hesitation, Isri reached out and gently grasped Cesil's wrist.

Not long after the two left, a group of people poured out of the church and headed straight for the spot where the two had fallen.

The gun in his hand seemed to have an unlimited supply of bullets, and he opened fire on the remaining people on the street.

This place has become a paradise for the mentally ill.

Islam dragged Sehir through several alleys. The area had not yet fallen, and the people on the streets were completely unaware that they were already under someone else's control.

“Young master, please stand here for a moment, I will go prepare the carriage.” Isri led Sehir to a street lamp, across from which was the carriage rental place.

Sehir nodded and stood obediently under the streetlight. Just a few minutes after Isri went inside, Sehir turned his head and saw a group of people huddled together in the distance.

Soon, the group of people drew closer and closer, practically running, not hesitating to trample those around them underfoot.

Sehir paused for a second, and just as he was about to step over to find Isri, he suddenly felt as if something had hit him in the head, and he stopped in his tracks.

The crowd surged forward, and Sehir stood on the opposite side, staring blankly at the shop in front of him. The crowd grew more and more dense, but through the gaps, Sehir saw Isri emerge from the shop.

Sehir pulled his scarf up to try and cover his face, then turned and blended into the crowd, fleeing with them.

After the crowd dispersed, Isri realized that there was no one left under the streetlights across the street. Panic immediately began to fester in his heart, pounding wildly in his head like drumbeats.

The next second, Isri threw away what he had prepared and ran with the crowd he had just been following.

-

Sehir followed the crowd through several main streets before finally turning into an alley.

Finally, he could rest. Sesil leaned against the cold wall, his heart pounding faster than ever before. He was out. He had run away.

Everything today seemed to be God's help, going incredibly smoothly. Sehir held the ship ticket in his hand and waited until his breathing calmed before following his memory toward the dock.

On the other side, Islam chased after the crowd, and within a few minutes, the crowd dispersed, leaving Islam alone standing in the middle of the road.

The person has really disappeared.

Isri clenched his fists so tightly that the blood in his knuckles almost stopped flowing. A cold glint flashed in Isri's eyes. After exhaling a breath of stale air, he began searching along the street.

It seemed that Isri's fierce aura was too great, and people passing by could feel a chill around them, so they subconsciously kept their distance from Isri.

——

The pier was crowded today because Christmas is approaching, and people who went out to play and those returning from Christmas gathered together.

Sehir finally got into line, but was pushed out by others, making it impossible to get back in. He had to start queuing again.

The ship was heading to the East Asian mainland. According to the newspapers, the East Asian mainland is bright all year round, without the torment of heavy fog. Moreover, the people there are kind, and many people who have been there say that it is simply a paradise in their dreams.

Sehir, greedy for the rosy picture in the newspapers, wanted to start over there.

Finally, it was time for him to get to his seat. Just as Sehir handed his ticket to the ticket inspector, his eyes suddenly swept across the room and he spotted Isri standing at the entrance of the alley in the distance.

Immediately, alarm bells rang in his mind, and Cecil wished he could hide himself completely. But just then, a problem arose with the ticket inspector. Because the ticket was crumpled, the inspector couldn't see the ship number clearly.

Sehir scooted deeper inside, his heart pounding louder than any other sound around him. He never imagined that Isri would find this place.

The ticket inspector held the ticket up to the sun overhead, barely able to make out the numbers. Because the action was so conspicuous, Islam, standing below, eventually fixed his gaze on the ship.

"Your ticket."
