Глава 75

“I think I don’t know how to use this thing, so it’s better to leave it to you.” Cecil glanced at the pistol and calmly opened his mouth.

Bonal Irene did not refuse, resting her chin on her hand and saying, "Then I hope you live until I come."

Sesil gasped, then smiled and said, "I will."

Sehir was placed at the corner leading into the palace. Only after watching the carriage go in did Sehir lift his leg and walk up.

The guards standing in front of the door had been replaced; they were not the same group of people I had seen before. Judging from the timeline, the guards had not been replaced so frequently.

Sehir raised an innocent face and leaned slightly forward: "Kreitis has something to discuss."

The guards exchanged glances and nodded, then said, "The Queen is waiting for you in the palace."

It seemed they had been prepared all along. Cecil's eyes narrowed, and the light in them turned cold.

It still looked as magnificent as ever, and the red carpet underfoot was still so soft that you could sink into it.

But now, on this stretch of road, I'm no longer worried about whether anyone outside is concerned that I might pick up other gases.

Inside the palace, apart from the guards, there was only the queen, who stood high above everyone else; the emptiness sent chills down one's spine.

“Your Majesty, I have something to discuss with you,” Cecil said, bowing ninety degrees.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time."

Sehir straightened up and met the high and mighty man's gaze: "Your Majesty, you surely know why I'm here. Has my steward done anything to deceive his superiors?"

"You don't know his background yet, do you?" The Queen showed a hint of doubt, but her eyes were full of smugness.

Cecil's eyes flickered, and he replied, "I don't know."

“He’s sick.” The Queen raised her finger and gently tapped her head. “He’s the child of a mentally ill person.”

For some reason, Cecil was displeased by these words, his eyebrows twitched slightly, and he opened his mouth: "So what?"

"I'm just concerned about you, Duke," the Queen said, her voice sounding somewhat aggrieved.

Sehir wiped the sweat from his hands, took a step forward, and said, "Your Majesty, this is my own family matter, so there's no need for you to deal with a servant."

The queen was unmoved, her eyes narrowing as she asked questioningly, "Are you really that concerned about the life of your servant?"

A cold sweat broke out on Cecil's back. He knew he absolutely could not let the current queen find out about what he had done.

“He has done me a favor, so of course I won’t abandon him,” Cecil said, speaking the truth.

The Queen looked down at the people standing below, her eyes showing no fear of her authority, as if they were born to oppose her.

"Heh..." The Queen chuckled lightly, "It's not impossible for me to release you, but you must kneel down and beg me first."

Sehir looked at the Queen. Kneeling before the Queen could be considered a sign of authority and wouldn't cause any problems if word got out, but he was now begging for mercy for the sake of a servant.

In this kind of society, if such news were to spread, it would be a devastating blow to one's life.

Whether Bonal Irene will be willing to handle this for herself at that time is another matter entirely.

Sehir glanced around, his gaze hardening in the end. He took a step forward and knelt at the foot of the steps of power.

His knees ached from kneeling on the marble floor; Sehir kept his head down, his brows furrowed.

"Your Majesty, I beg you, hand over that insignificant servant to me," Cecil said, closing his eyes and speaking each word clearly.

Inside the palace, no one spoke. Their soft voices amplified in the empty space, as if endlessly repeating the humiliation that pressed down from above.

The Queen did not immediately reply. Instead, she looked Cecil up and down, as if she had seen him somewhere before.

After a while, his legs started to give way. Cecil listened to the noise, wondering what Bonal Irene was doing since she hadn't arrived yet.

Sehir clenched his fists, and his breathing became heavy.

Suddenly, the person sitting on it reacted, their voice filled with disdain and mockery.

“I remember, your father begged me to spare you in the same way, my dear subject, Count Cretis.”

The sound seemed to crash in from all directions, forcefully entering his ears. Cecil suddenly widened his eyes, raised his head, and looked at the Queen's opening and closing mouth.

"What...did you say?" Cecil's eyes were instantly filled with tears. His short sentence made it hard for him to breathe, and it hurt so much that he could hardly breathe.

The Queen feigned surprise, enjoying Cecil's expression, and laughed, "Didn't your butler tell you? Well, you're in for a rough time."

Isri? Sehir stared wide-eyed, holding back his tears, his hands clenched tightly, his nails digging into his flesh.

"Back then, your father begged me not to kill you; I still remember that scene vividly."

The Queen spoke with her mouth agape, her gaze falling on Cecil: "Now that I have gained enough, it is time to completely eradicate the Cretis family!"

"Why?" Sehir asked, his voice choked with rage, the screams that had haunted him from years ago becoming ever clearer.

Why?

The person in front of me was the one who killed my entire family back then, the one who pushed me to the top.

"Why?" The Queen's eyes turned cold. "You dare ask?"

The Queen chuckled softly: "Who told you to be so greedy? The West Asian continent is mine! And only I can rule it!"

Chapter 125

Sehir was trembling all over, his eyes filled with disbelief. From beginning to end, he had been nothing more than a pawn manipulated in the palm of this person's hand.

Once the commercial chain has completely taken over the West Asian continent, they will completely eliminate themselves and seize all the advantageous resources for themselves.

Sehir stood up from the ground, his gaze turning colder as he looked up to meet the person in front of him.

"But my father will not affect your position."

The Queen rose from her seat, the sound of her shoes clicking on the steps like a pronouncement of fate. Only when she reached Cecil's side did the Queen's lips curl into a smile again.

"Maybe I felt at the time that he was a bit of a nuisance."

Sehir's brows furrowed deeply, and the hatred in his eyes became even more pronounced. For so many years, every single day, he had lived in the same place as this culprit.

Perhaps without this person in front of him, his life would be completely different; all of this was just a boring game, as she put it.

Sehir gritted his teeth, his eyes beginning to redden. He looked up and glanced around. The guards stood there like a row of puppets, their faces expressionless.

"Do you think you can walk out of here today?" the Queen stretched and asked.

Sehir's eyes were bloodshot, and he was too choked to speak.

"younger sister."

Suddenly, a weak voice came from the side of the palace—it was Bonal Irene! Sehir stared wide-eyed.

Bonal Irene had changed her clothes, but she was still wearing the off-white dress she wore when they first met. Her lips had returned to their previous paleness, and she looked weak and listless.

"Sister!" The Queen's eyes lit up when she saw Bonal Irene, and she quickly ran down from her throne to take Bonal Irene's arm.

Sesil twitched slightly; he had completely forgotten a fatal problem: the relationship between Bonal Irene and the Queen.

Although it was true that Bonal Irene wanted to seize the throne, he was indeed an uncertain factor, and Cecil kept a close eye on the two people in front of him.

"Sister, what made you decide to come today?" The Queen asked excitedly, pulling Bonal Irene's hand.

Bonal Irene's face was expressionless, with only a slight upturn at the corners of her lips: "I had nothing to do, so I came to take a look."

Compared to her voice in the carriage, Bonal Irene's voice was much weaker now, making her seem completely non-threatening.

"Is my sister still not feeling better? Should I call a doctor to take a look?"

Bonal Irene smiled and said, "No need."

As he spoke, his gaze fell on Cecil, scanning him up and down, and the corners of his lips curved into a wider smile: "Who is he?"

"Just a nobleman who came to ask me for a favor." The Queen sneered and glanced at Cecil.

Hearing the Queen say this, Sesil breathed a sigh of relief. As expected, he was too confident and wanted to get rid of himself.

“Is that so?” Bonar Irene opened her mouth slightly, looking at the throne behind the Queen: “How has the throne fared these past few years?”

Upon hearing the mention of the throne, the Queen's expression stiffened slightly. She looked at Bonal Irene's face and smiled, "Why did you suddenly ask that, sister?"

Bonal Irene walked around the Queen to the throne, raised her hand to touch the gold decorations on it, and a hint of disdain flashed in her eyes.

"Don't you feel uneasy sitting here?"

The Queen's face darkened instantly, and her lips twitched slightly in alarm: "Wh...what?"

"Don't you know anything about my condition and my deceased mother?" Bonal Irene's voice was calm, but with each word she spoke, the Queen's expression grew increasingly grim.

"How...how did you know?" The Queen, realizing she could no longer hide the truth, widened her eyes, glanced around, and shouted, "Guards, drag her away!"

Bonal Irene laughed out loud, looking at her sister with a mocking expression: "You really don't want to play along with my act at all."

The guards below exchanged glances, gripped their swords, and stepped forward. The queen's eyes gleamed with smugness, while she glared menacingly at Bonal Irene.

"I could turn you into this before, and I can kill you now!"

"Bang!"

Before he could finish speaking, a gunshot rang out, instantly filling the entire palace.

"Aaaaaah!" Then came a piercing scream.

The guards stood motionless at the bottom of the steps, watching the queen kneeling on the platform.

"What are you all standing there for! Make your move!" The Queen glared at the guards below.

This time, however, no one made a move; they all retreated as if they were outsiders.

Times have changed. The dictatorship has been crushed by a single shot, and God's people have been liberated.

Did you consider the consequences of everything you did?

Bonal Irene crouched down, pulled a small pistol from her waist, and pressed it against the Queen's forehead.

Cecil stood at the bottom of the steps, watching the dramatic scene unfold. He lowered his head, his golden hair flowing like golden threads in the air, reflected in the stained glass windows.

Cecil lowered his head, the trembling in his body subsided slightly, the anger in his eyes also diminished a bit, the corners of his lips curled up, and he took a step towards the steps.

“Your Majesty, may I have it?” Sehir bowed respectfully and asked the person before him.

The man still kneeling on the ground, upon seeing Sehir, assumed he was there to help him and nodded frantically, his gaze fixed intently on Sehir.

“Fine.” Bonar Irene narrowed her eyes, looking at Cecil, and said in a seemingly sarcastic tone, “Personally eliminate Her Majesty the Queen you once respected.”

Cecil remained expressionless, bent down once more, and took the pistol from Bonal Irene's hand.
