Kapitel 10

"Huh?" Jasmine looked at David with pleading eyes, at a loss for what to do.

"Brother, this won't do! We've already invested a huge amount of money in her country. Do you want to cut off the chance to reap substantial profits?" David advised disapprovingly.

"Then you go." "Are you kidding! The princess specifically asked for you, she doesn't want me." He'd push this away as far as possible. "Besides, if Shana knew, she'd definitely tear the house down!" "If the doll knew, she'd kill me too." Joel glared at him. "Fine, then we don't need to worry about her anymore!" 'Big brother, are you kidding me?' "It's either you or me, I'm not stupid enough to go looking for my own death, so it's just you who's going to die! "Who's going to die?" Sisi had just stepped out of the suite when she inexplicably heard a bunch of talk about dying and living.

Joel's eyes lit up when he saw her. "Doll, come here." He put down his wine glass and legs and beckoned to her with his index finger.

"What for?" If she just came because he asked her, she would lose face.

"Come here," Joel insisted. She reluctantly and dragged herself to him.

"What are you doing... Ah!"

Joel grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap, then embraced her and stroked her gently. He then shamelessly rested his head on her neck and kissed her.

"Oh my god! You smell so good!"

"

"Ah! How could you... let me go, you big pervert, you pig... let me go..." She struggled and awkwardly smiled apologetically at the two dumbfounded and speechless spectators.

Joel relaxed a little. "What's wrong? Is something the problem?" Seeing that Sisi was still not out of breath, he leaned in and kissed and sucked her breasts even more passionately.

Two startling gasps followed.

"Ah! You idiot, let me go! You...you...let me go, do you hear me?!"

Joel, panting, raised his head, his eyes hazy yet gleaming with intoxicating passion. A sensual allure.

Sisi couldn't help but gasp, her gaze unable to leave his eyes.

“You, you…I…they…” Good heavens! Her mind was completely blank: Joel buried his face in her hair again. “Don’t you two have anything better to do?”

The two spectators, who were still staring wide-eyed, finally snapped out of their daze and turned to flee in a disheveled state.

Their faces flushed, they leaned against the CEO's office door. One looked down, checking the floor for any treasures, while the other stared at the elevator, watching to see who dared to come up and disturb them.

“You’d better keep an eye on the door for them; I doubt they’ll remember to lock it.” David’s already fading face turned even redder.

"Also, President, postpone all appointments, meetings, and events this afternoon if possible, otherwise cancel them. Those that can't be postponed or canceled should be handed over to me. Okay, that's all. I'm going back to my office." He suppressed the urge to burst out laughing and quickly went back to his room to vent.

Poor Jasmine stood at the door for a while before snapping out of her daze and quickly walking back to her seat, opening her calendar, picking up the phone, and starting her duties.

While Joel and Sisi were spending a passionate night together in their office suite, David was being interrogated by his mother at home.

Joel's mother, Mary, was always worried about Joel's marriage and kept nagging him. She kept saying that Joel was too busy with work to pay attention to women, that David was married but not in a hurry to have children, that Rosanne was engaged but would take a while to get married, and that the youngest son, Philip, had just started dating someone and things were still very uncertain. She was afraid that she would have to go to heaven to be with her husband before she even saw a glimpse of her grandchildren.

But now, unexpectedly, Joel's former lover has suddenly reappeared, and she's determined to find out everything about him, most importantly, whether Joel is getting married.

"Is she that Asian girl from ten years ago?" Mary asked. "Will Joel marry her?" That's the key question.

"Yes, Mom, her name is Xixi, she's a very sweet woman, Joel always calls her Doll. I think Joel will never let her go again."

“So, David, you mean we really do need to prepare for the wedding?” Mary asked, increasingly excited. “Should we visit that girl… Sissy’s family?”

“Well…” David smiled mysteriously. “Speaking of her family, that leads to an even bigger surprise.”

"What? Is her family background that impressive? We don't care, as long as she's honest and upright." Even if her family background isn't great, as long as Joel likes her and wants to marry her, everything else is irrelevant.

"Her family background wasn't bad, it was alright, it's just that she was kicked out by her family!"

Mary stared at David in shock, as did David's wife Shana, his sister Rosanne, and his fiancé Robert.

“How could this be? Didn’t you say she was a good girl? What serious thing did she do that made her family want to kick her out?” Mary asked suspiciously.

David shrugged. "It's not really a serious matter, but you know, Easterners are more conservative, and there are some things they find hard to accept."

"What is it? Stop beating around the bush!" Mary said impatiently. What time is it? Do you really need to go on and on?

“It’s…” David took a deep breath, preparing to drop the atomic bomb. “Unmarried father!” Then he carefully observed the various expressions on everyone’s faces.

As expected, there was a moment of stunned silence in the living room. After a long while, Mary was the first to speak out.

"What? Has she been with other men? Isn't that promiscuous? No wonder she was kicked out by her family!" "Yeah, Mom, you'd better advise my brother. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Why insist on this kind of woman?" Luo Shan also objected.

Shana, standing against the crowd, said, "No! Mom, wait a minute..." She carefully observed David's amused and persistent shaking of his head. "Tell me, David, how old is that child?"

He gestured with his fingers.

Shana narrowed her eyes. "Nine years old? Ten years, nine years old... David, that child, is he Joel's?"

David didn't answer directly; he just grinned and said, "Shana, congratulations! Mom won't be nagging us to have more babies anymore."

After a moment of stunned silence, Mary opened her mouth wide, completely losing her ladylike composure.

“David, you...you mean, Sissy gave birth to a son for Joel?” Rosanne asked, as if she had just swallowed an egg.

David nodded vigorously. "Exactly! If you ran into him on the street, you would definitely recognize him. That kid looks exactly like Joel; no one would mistake him for him."

Mary's eyes welled with tears, and she gripped his arm tightly with both hands. "David...you said...you said...I...have a grandson?" "Yes, Mom, you have a grandson." David smiled. "Mom, Sissy is a good girl, and she has always loved Joel deeply. If it weren't for the misunderstanding ten years ago, they would have been a very loving couple. But the misunderstanding forced her to leave. Later, she found out she was pregnant, but her parents demanded she abort the child. She refused because she wanted to keep Joel's child as a keepsake, and that's why her family kicked her out."

“Poor girl…” Mary sobbed softly.

"Yes, just think about it, a girl who is only seventeen years old, in an environment that discriminates against her, raising a baby all by herself, and still being so optimistic and cheerful, and raising the child so well, it's really not easy!" he sighed.

“Tell me about that child…”

David couldn't help but smile. "Oh, speaking of that kid, he's really hilarious! Mom, you'd never guess, that boy is a genius! He's only nine years old and already a student at Harvard University. Oh, by the way, Joel said he wants to use his grandfather's name for his English name."
