Joel chuckled and picked at his ear. "My wife ran away, how could I not chase after her?"
"But...but..." Sisi stammered. "How did you know I was here?"
“You’re using a credit card, aren’t you?” Joel said, taking the opportunity to kiss her on the lips.
Sisi shoved him away, then grabbed his long hair and glared at him angrily. "Tell me honestly, did that brat betray me?"
Joel looked up at the sky. "I'm not quite sure!"
"Shit!" Sisi cursed. "I knew that brat would betray me!"
Joel lowered his eyes and stared at her. "Are you still angry?"
"Of course!" She turned her face away forcefully. "You'd better stay as far away as possible, lest I lose my temper and kick you into the Pacific Ocean!"
Joel blinked, a mischievous glint in his eyes, then scooped Sisi up in his arms and strode away.
"Ah!" she screamed again. "What do you want to do? Put me down right now!"

Chapter Nine: Threads of Love Author: Yu Xin
Joel snapped out of his reverie and contentedly pulled the woman closer to him. He gently kissed the ends of her hair, a smug smile creeping across his face. The woman in his arms stirred, slowly raising her head to reveal a languid and alluring face, blinking her hazy eyes.
"What time is it?"
"Sleep a little longer, you've only just fallen asleep." Joel affectionately kissed her forehead.
"Oh!" She snuggled back into the warm embrace... "Ah!" But then she suddenly snapped back to reality and cried out, "They..."
"Don't worry, this is my room, they don't know." He hugged her as she tried to get up.
"Your room?!" Sisi screamed again. "Please, if they see you carrying me away, they'll look everywhere for me, and then they'll find I'm not in my room. They might even think I've been kidnapped!"
Joel rolled his eyes. "If this is a kidnapping, it's far too clumsy!"
"They'll definitely come looking for me!" Sisi said confidently, grabbing the phone from beside the bed. "Quick, what's your room number?"
Ten minutes later, Joel came out of the bathroom first, while Sisi was yelling from inside, "Find me something to wear!"
Joel shrugged, slowly hung his bathrobe on the bathroom doorknob, put on his trousers, and walked barefoot out of the room to the living room refrigerator to look for food, but all he found were drinks.
He picked up the phone and pressed the number keys.
"Hello, this is room 308, could you please..."
Suddenly, there was a frantic knocking at the door. Joel frowned. "Please wait a moment." He put down the phone and went to open the door. He saw it was the Du family. Without saying a word, he opened the door wide and let them in. Then he went to the door of the room and shouted, "Kid, they're here!" Then he went back to pick up the phone.
"Hello, could you please bring me two seafood platters?"
After giving his instructions, he put down his work and, without inviting the group, sat down on the main sofa, looking down at everyone. Sisi and her relatives all looked around awkwardly and uneasyly, not daring to look him in the eye. It wasn't that they felt uneasy because they thought they had done something wrong, but rather that they were overwhelmed by the domineering aura of this shirtless, barefoot, long-haired man.
As soon as Trisha and Tria entered, they stared intently at Joel, their eyes filled with a greedy look that sent chills down everyone's spine.
As soon as Sisi stepped out of the room, she saw that her parents were both standing as punishment, and she couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Hey, Dad, Mom, why are you both standing? Hurry up and sit down! Qiao, what's wrong with you? You didn't even invite them to sit down, and you just sat there so arrogantly."
Sisi glared at Joel, who remained motionless, while busily gesturing for everyone to sit down and handing each person a can of beer.
“Sorry, I don’t know how to mix drinks, and he…” She glared at Joel again. “He probably won’t be able to help me either, so you’ll just have to make do with beer.” She said to the men, trying to sit down next to Du Lili, but Joel grabbed her and put her on his lap. She gasped and struggled to get away, but his strong arm held her firmly.
Everyone awkwardly glanced away, while Du Renfei coughed twice, "Well, it's alright, it's alright, beer will do." He muttered, then stole a glance at Joel. "And this is..."
Upon hearing this, Sisi immediately stopped struggling and slapped her forehead. "Ah, how could I forget to introduce you! Haha, sorry, sorry, this is my husband, Hao Hao's father, his name is Joel..." She suddenly paused, then smiled apologetically at Zhu Lili.
"You look a lot like Joe, don't you? That's why I misheard you."
Du Lili stole a glance at the man in front of her, who also had black hair and blue eyes, and unconsciously made a comparison in her mind... Alas, there was no comparison at all; he would only make all men feel ashamed. Sisi's luck was truly incredible; she had made a huge blunder, yet she had reaped a huge benefit in the process.
Joseph had no idea what Joel and Joe sounded like, and he simply introduced himself politely.
"Joseph Remson".
“Hansen Nare.” Hansen followed.
So one by one, they automatically told Joel their names, even Sisi's parents. They weren't quite sure why they were doing this, but they were completely subdued by Joel's imposing manner and felt that they "should" "report" to Joel.
After the last "report" was finished, Joel remained silent. Slightly annoyed, he shoved her hard in the back with his elbow. He grunted, rubbed his stomach, glanced at her, and then lazily opened his mouth.
"Joel Rox".
Ren was stunned for two seconds, followed by a series of incredulous exclamations.
"The Rox family?!"
"The president of the Seth Group?!"
Du Tianhe and Shen Ruyou approached with delighted expressions.
"I never expected it, I never expected it at all! The president of the Seth Group is actually our son-in-law!"
Joel glared at him coldly. "In my own mind, I would drive you all out of America..."
