Double Box Record - Chapitre 64

Chapitre 64

There are always innocent people there, a warm family, whose children, like Yang Shen, will lose their parents in an instant and fall into endless pain.

Little Pumpkin suddenly called out from behind, "Sister! There's a big ship coming from over there!"

Yichun turned his head and saw a large ship sailing in the distance on the lake, sailing with the wind, cutting through the waves like a flying arrow.

She hurriedly moved the small boat aside, but one was facing a headwind and the other a tailwind. As soon as the small boat turned around, the large ship was already almost in front of her.

A voice from the bow of the boat shouted, "Hey, you in front, stop! Show your token before you can cross the river!"

Yichun seemed not to hear her, and abruptly turned the small boat around, rowing vigorously toward the opposite bank. Little Pumpkin, while wielding the oars with all her might, cried out urgently, "Sister! I'm afraid it'll be too late!"

She turned around and suddenly saw a man standing on the large ship, wearing a black cloak and a bamboo hat, with a heroic figure.

Uncle Yin.

He spotted Yichun at a glance, paused for a moment, then immediately waved his hand: "Stop that fishing boat! Fire arrows! Fire arrows now!"

Little Pumpkin choked back tears, "Sister! I never imagined we'd die together! It wouldn't be bad to have you by my side on the road to the underworld, but my master will surely curse me in the mortal realm to kidnap you!"

Yichun drew his sword from his waist, stood up at the stern, and whispered, "Don't worry about anything, just row forward!"

Even if he wanted to, he couldn't control it!

Arrows rained down, but Yichun swung his sword and slashed them down one by one. Little Pumpkin Head didn't dare to look back. He could only hear the sound of iron arrows hitting the deck. With each arrow, his heart tightened, feeling like it was about to jump out of his throat.

Suddenly, she let out a soft "Ah!" and Little Pumpkin cried out, "Sister, don't die! Please don't die! Hold on!"

Yichun pressed her hand against the abrasion between her ribs, where it burned with pain, and blood quickly soaked her palm.

Looking up at Uncle Yin, whose straw hat was pulled low, his expression was hidden. Behind and in front of him, many people had drawn their bows, aiming at their trembling little fishing boat; the cold glint of the iron arrows was chilling.

He said, "Ge Yichun, stop, I see you."

Yichun was covered in cold sweat, gripping his sword tightly. Suddenly, he turned around and whispered, "Little Pumpkin, can you swim? Can you swim to the other side by yourself?"

Little Pumpkin shook its head repeatedly: "I won't abandon you! I don't want to run away alone!"

She took a breath and lowered her voice: "If you can swim, remember to take this thing with you, and don't let anyone touch it except your master!"

After saying that, she quietly took off the Zhanchun sword from her back and threw it at his feet.

"Wait for me in Suzhou with Shu Jun! If I haven't been there by the anniversary of Yang Shen's death, there's no need to wait any longer. Break the Zhan Chun Sword in front of Yang Shen's grave and give it to him as a gift!"

Little Pumpkin grabbed the Spring-Slaying Sword, not having time to explain to her that an iron sword cannot be broken.

He also knew that if both of them stayed behind, they would both die.

He silently plunged into the lake, clutching the Zhanchun Sword, and couldn't help but cry as he grabbed the eaves of the boat.

Yichun said softly, "I'm counting on you!"

Seeing that the fishing boat had stopped and Yichun was standing motionless at the stern, pressing his rib wound as if in unbearable pain, Uncle Yin said, "At least you have some self-awareness!"

Yichun lowered her hand, looked up at him with a strange smile, and didn't say anything.

Men in black had already secured the fishing boat with rope ladders, snatched the iron sword from her hand, and respectfully presented it to Uncle Yin.

He glanced at the iron sword and immediately frowned: "Where's the Spring-Slaying Sword?"

Yi Chun chuckled: "Isn't Yan Yufei incredibly intelligent? How could he not guess where Zhan Chun is?"

Uncle Yin stared at her grimly for a moment, then waved his hand: "Take her away. Issue an arrest warrant and find that brat who was on the same boat as her!"

Yi Chun had her eyes covered with a black cloth, and all she could feel was the bumpy, displaced journey. It seemed like she was sometimes on a waterway and sometimes in a carriage. Occasionally, she could hear Uncle Yin and Mo Yunqing talking in hushed tones, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.

Intuitively, she knew she had left the Giant Xia Gang, but she had no idea which direction she was heading.

Fortunately, although she was tied up, she was not subjected to any torture. Uncle Yin even found a woman to apply medicine and bandage her rib wound, and she did not lack three meals a day.

Because they were blindfolded, they couldn't see when it got dark or when it got light, so they could only guess to count the days.

Around the fifth day, the carriage finally stopped, and she was pulled out and stumbled forward.

She vaguely heard Uncle Yin talking to someone, saying something like "Young Master has not returned yet," so Yan Yufeiren must not be here yet.

Uncle Yin said, "Lock her in the dungeon. Don't torture her yet. Take good care of her and leave her alive until the young master returns."

Yichun was thus sent to the dungeon.

The black cloth covering her face was ripped off, and the sudden, dim light made her squint, unaccustomed to it.

The two men in black replaced the rope with handcuffs and shackles, with a large iron ball hanging from the shackles. No matter how skilled she was, she couldn't escape while dragging that iron ball.

"Well... please stay here for now, and let me know if you need anything."

Because of Uncle Yin's ambiguous attitude, his subordinates didn't know how to treat her properly, so they became surprisingly amiable and even replaced the straw in her cell with freshly dried straw that was soft and fluffy, and even laid a thick quilt on it.

Yichun stood in the dungeon, looking left and right, and finally sat down on the mattress without moving.

The dungeon was dimly lit, except for the torches lit on the wall opposite her cell, which allowed her to see clearly. Her cellmates next door weren't so lucky.

In the thick darkness, there were all sorts of sounds: crying, murmuring, panting, and occasionally a few heart-wrenching roars that sent chills down one's spine.

Yichun put her hands under her head and looked up at the small ventilation hole in the wall, which was not much bigger than a fist, but outside was a clear blue sky.

Little Pumpkin should have found Shu Jun by now. With Shu Jun's clever nature, she must know that she was taken away by Uncle Yin. This is Yan Clan's territory, and trying to break in to rescue her would be suicide.
