Chapitre 28

Yi Mei shouted, "What are you grinning about! Go buy some groceries!"

Su Xiaoying immediately frowned and said, "Why is it my turn to buy groceries again? You clearly said last time that you would do all the grocery shopping after Huahua's full moon..."

"Su Xiaoying, why are you so stingy?" Yi Mei couldn't help but laugh and said, "You hurry up and buy it. I'll go home and tidy up the house. Hua Hua is all alone at home. I wonder if she's cried yet."

"Hmm," Su Xiaoying said, "What do you want to eat?"

"Anything is fine, anything is fine." Yi Mei waved her hand, urging him to hurry up, and then ran all the way home.

Hua Hua didn't cry; she lay peacefully on the bed with her big, bright eyes wide open. Yi Mei hugged her, put her back on the bed, and began to tidy up the room, which had been a mess the three of them had made the day before.

They drank a lot of wine yesterday; the wine jars were piled haphazardly on the floor, and the small room still faintly smelled of alcohol. Yi Mei sighed and had no choice but to open the door. She had just kicked the wine jars out the door and was about to sweep the floor when she suddenly saw two young women, both dressed in solemn white mourning clothes, walking slowly towards her, one after the other.

Yi Mei was slightly taken aback, and greeted them: "Xie Wangyi, Ming Ji, what brings you here?"

Xie Wangyi gave a cold laugh and remained silent. Mingji said, "Madam Su, I've come to see Fu Daiyue."

When Yi Mei heard someone address her as "Madam Su" for the first time, she was overjoyed and said with a smile, "You're a step too late! Fu Daiyue left this morning. Oh, what a pity."

Mingji's expression changed slightly, and she asked, "Gone?"

Yi Mei said, "That's right, Xiao Ying and I even tried to catch up with him, but we didn't succeed."

Mingji looked dejected and remained silent.

Yi Mei felt a little embarrassed when she remembered that Fu Daiyue had broken his wrist to save her. She said awkwardly, "What, have you been looking for him? He might look for you after a while, so don't worry."

Mingji sighed softly, shook her head, and smiled bitterly. Her stunningly beautiful face appeared somewhat melancholy.

Xie Wangyi suddenly sneered and said coldly, "So what if you find him? Can you still be together?"

Mingji sneered, "You'd better not interfere in my affairs."

Xie Wangyi retorted sarcastically, "I was just trying to be helpful."

Mingji glanced at her sideways, a hint of mockery on her lips, and said slowly, "Second sister, you don't need to remind me. Although I can't be with him, I'm still much better off than you. The bones of Wuyi Peak have long since turned to rotten mud."

Xie Wangyi's facial muscles twitched, and he suddenly screamed, "What did you say! What did you say!"

Looking at Xie Wangyi's ferocious face, Yi Mei felt that these two people really shouldn't be together.

No sooner had Xie Wangyi's scream subsided than Huahua suddenly burst into tears inside the house. Yimei was startled, realizing she had been frightened by Xie Wangyi, so she quickly went inside, patted Huahua to comfort her for a while, and then went out. By this time, her expression had become somewhat impatient.

“I said,” Yimei said irritably, “if you’re going to argue, go somewhere else. What kind of behavior is it to shout and yell in front of my house?”

Xie Wangyi's face twisted as she stared at Yi Mei and shrieked, "You shameless slut, what right do you have to stand here and talk to us?"

Yi Mei's expression also changed, and she said coldly, "I'm only doing this for Fu Daiyue's sake, so don't be ungrateful."

Xie Wangyi let out a sharp and unpleasant laugh and said, "Did your lover, Su Xiaoying, dump you? How come she's hooking up with Fu Daiyue again?"

Yi Mei sneered, about to utter a sarcastic remark, when suddenly a series of sharp "swoosh" sounds rang out, and several five-pointed plum blossom nails shot from Ming Ji's hand, heading towards Xie Wangyi. Xie Wangyi drew his longsword, sweeping away all the nails, and cried out, "Bring the makeup! Bring the makeup!"

Yi Mei sneered, "Back then, Wu Yifeng must have been out of his mind to want to marry you."

Xie Wangyi raised his longsword and thrust it at Yi Mei. Yi Mei stepped aside and sneered, "Isn't that right? No man who isn't out of his mind would marry you."

Yi Mei remained composed, not even drawing her sword. Ming Ji suddenly realized that Xie Wangyi was no match for Fu Daiyue! Even if the two of them joined forces, they would still be no match for the assassin Yi Mei! Although Ming Ji disliked Xie Wangyi, she ultimately did not want her to die by Yi Mei's sword. Ming Ji said, "We came to find Fu Daiyue. Since he is not here, we will take our leave."

"Then you'd better leave quickly," Yi Mei said coldly.

"You," a voice suddenly came from the neighboring house, "are you looking for Fu Daiyue?"

The three looked toward the source of the sound and saw a man dressed in black and masked, carrying a gleaming, thin-bladed soft sword, standing not far away. In his hand, however, he held another longsword, which was none other than Fu Daiyue's nameless longsword!

Yi Mei was startled and recognized the man as the one from the tea stall at the post station. She blurted out, "It's you!"

The man smiled slightly and said, "Assassin Yi Mei."

A flickering light appeared on Xie Wangyi's face. Her eyes were fixed on his sword, and then she asked in a shrill voice, "How did you get this sword?"

The man calmly removed his mask, revealing his face, and said indifferently, "This sword was originally my personal sword. Second Miss, don't you recognize me, Third Brother Xie?"

Yi Mei was taken aback, then frowned and asked, "You didn't die at Banshao Manor?"

Xie Sange smiled and said, "Of course I'm not dead. How could Feng Wuhua's tricks possibly fool me?"

Yi Mei was taken aback again, a chill ran through her, and she said, "If that's the case, how could you just stand by and watch him burn down Banshao Manor and kill so many people?"

Xie Sange said, "Is there anything wrong with destroying Banshao Manor? I think it was a good thing to destroy it, a good thing to die."

Xie Wangyi's face turned deathly pale, and for a moment, he remained silent.

Xie Sange looked at Mingji with a mysterious smile and said, "Third Miss, I'm here to find you—didn't you want to see Fu Daiyue? I'll take you there."

Mingji's lips trembled slightly as she stared at the nameless longsword in his hand. After a moment, she asked, "How did his sword end up in your hands?"

Brother Xie smiled and said, "You can ask him in a little while."

Mingji became suspicious and shifted her gaze from the sword to his face.

Xie Sange said, "I won't lie to you. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."

Mingji said, "Alright, take me to him. Where is he now?"

Xie Sange said, "It's not far from here."

Mingji walked over and stopped a few steps in front of him, saying calmly, "Let's go."

Xie Sange smiled and said, "Please, Miss San."

Yi Mei's pupils suddenly contracted, and she shouted, "Watch out!" Before her words even finished, a flash of silver light appeared, and a very thin line of blood shot through the air, disappearing as it fell. Ming Ji's eyes widened, and she fell backward. She was already dead before she even hit the ground.

At Mingji's heart, there was a small, delicate sword mark, like an embroidery, which had just severed the blood vessel in her heart.

Xie Sange smiled and said, "Third Miss, you can go with Fu Daiyue now."

Xie Wangyi finally came to her senses and screamed hysterically, "Third Brother Xie!" She lunged forward and charged at Third Brother Xie like a madwoman.

Xie Sange deftly dodged the attack and said, "Second Miss, you don't need to do that. If I hadn't rescued you to the pond during the fire at Banshao Manor that day, you would have been burned to death by Feng Wuhua."

Xie Wangyi missed her target. Upon hearing these words, she froze on the spot, then cried out, "It was you! You saved me! Why did you save me! Why did you save me!"

Yi Mei leaned down to look at Ming Ji and recognized the delicate, beautiful scar on Ming Ji's heart. This scar had just severed the blood vessel in her heart, just like Xie Yuanlan's wound. Yi Mei then straightened up and said, "Third Brother Xie, you killed Xie Yuanlan."

Brother Xie smiled and said, "You're right, I killed Xie Yuanlan."

Yi Mei sighed and said, "You and Feng Wuhua both want to wipe out the entire Xie family. Why is that?"

Xie Sange smiled but remained silent.

Suddenly, with a "bang," Xie Wangyi went limp and sat blankly on the ground, muttering something unintelligible.

Xie Sange looked at Xie Wangyi, a trace of worry in his eyes.

Xie Wangyi suddenly jumped up again, shouting, "You killed my father! Why did you save me!"

Brother Xie smiled slightly, but sighed softly, "Because you look a lot like your mother, your expression is just like hers... Of course I have to save you, don't you know, your mother is my wife."

Xie Wangyi's eyes were wide open, but she didn't seem to be looking at anyone. After a while, she said, "You're talking nonsense."

Xie Sange said, "I have no reason to lie to you. Back then, I fought against the thirteen strongholds of Qishan with my sword and was seriously injured. Xie Yuanlan forced your mother to marry him as a condition for saving me. Your mother had no choice but to agree. That's how it happened."

Xie Wangyi's expression flickered, and he said in a low voice, "You killed my father for a woman?"

Xie Sange said, “That woman is my wife and your mother. Xie Yuanlan took her away only a year ago, and then he married a new concubine. Do you remember how your mother died? Her body was swaying on the roof beam, and her tongue was sticking out so long.”

Xie Wangyi said, "I don't hate my father, I never hate him."

Xie Sange smiled and said, "You are his daughter, so do whatever you want with him. Anyway, he is dead now, and even his body was hacked to pieces by Feng Wuhua."

Xie Wangyi's face turned deathly pale.

Yi Mei had remained silent until now. Then she slowly drew Han Guang, its dark, lusterless blade appearing cold in the sunlight. "Thank you, Third Brother," she said. "The matter of Ban Shao Manor has nothing to do with me, but I owe Fu Daiyue a favor."

Xie Sange said, "Assassin Yi Mei is one of the four fastest swordsmen in the martial arts world. Today is a good day to see your Han Guang."

Yi Mei said, "Please."

A murderous aura suddenly intensified. Yi Mei's figure flickered slightly in front of her, already appearing before Xie San Ge. Xie San Ge's sword was a thin, soft silver sword, so the sound of the two swords clashing was not very loud. However, each subtle sound struck Xie Wang Yi's heart, causing her entire body to tremble violently.

Xie Wangyi gripped her sword tightly, paused with her toes, and slid out. She stared at the person, thrusting her sword forward with all her might. With a "whoosh," the entire sword pierced through the flesh.

Xie Sange dropped his soft sword and died.

A wisp of plum blossom fragrance (The End)

Han Guang pierced Xie Sange's heart, and blood gushed out like a shooting spring. His body crashed to the ground, but the blood seemed to linger in the air, forming a large red mist.

The fog blended strangely with the colors of the air and sunlight.

All Yi Mei could see was this color. She stood there for a moment, then slowly turned around and looked at Xie Wangyi. Xie Wangyi was still holding the hilt of his sword, a strange smile on his face.

"I've gotten my revenge," Xie Wangyi said. Then she chuckled, the laughter growing louder and louder until she let out a piercing scream: "I've gotten my revenge!"

Yi Mei smiled faintly. Xie Wangyi's longsword had already pierced through her body, and her blood flowed out along the sword, drop by drop, falling to the ground and mixing with the dust.

Suddenly, Hua Hua burst into tears inside the room. Her cries jolted Xie Wangyi awake. Xie Wangyi coldly sneered at Yi Mei, "You deserve to die." With a forceful pull, she drew her sword. Yi Mei's eyes snapped open, and all her strength vanished in that instant. She didn't know how she collapsed, only that she suddenly saw a blue sky, white clouds, and a flock of unknown birds flying leisurely beneath them.

Then all of that disappeared, leaving only a blur of chaos, in which Su Xiaoying's shadow flickered.

"Sigh," Yi Mei thought, "Xiao Ying..."

She slowly closed her eyes.

Xie Wangyi laughed wildly, tilting her head back and shouting, "Brother Yi! Brother Yi! I killed her! I killed her!" Her laughter was so loud and strained that it sounded even more like crying.

Xie Wangyi suddenly fell silent, listening intently to Huahua's cries inside the room. She suddenly sighed deeply, raised her bleeding sword, and slashed her own neck, severing her trachea.

Guo Shaotang met Su Xiaoying at the intersection. Su Xiaoying was carrying a crucian carp and a large cabbage and was about to go home. She pulled Guo Shaotang and invited him to her home for a drink.

“You haven’t tried Yi Mei’s cooking yet,” Su Xiaoying said with a smile. “Her fish soup is quite delicious.”

Guo Shaotang, going with the flow, readily agreed. "Young master, I've already inquired about the matter you asked me to handle last time. The land is not far outside the town, and the price is reasonable."

Su Xiaoying smiled and said, "Thank you, thank you. I'll go with Yimei to take a look tomorrow."

The two men were in high spirits and started talking about chess again, laughing heartily as they talked and played.

He turned a corner and reached the entrance of the alley, where Su Xiaoying was half-smiling. He abruptly stopped, his smile freezing on his lips. Guo Shaotang also stopped, his voice trembling with anxiety, stammering, "This...this..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Su Xiaoying had already leaped past him in a blur. The fish and vegetables in his hands had somehow rolled onto the ground, covered in bloody dust.

As Su Xiaoying rushed over, she nearly tripped over Xie Sange's corpse. She stumbled and fell to Yi Mei's side, crouching down to lift her upper body. Yi Mei's head lay limply to one side, her hair half-loose and hanging down.
