Lan Yin Bi Yue - Chapitre 20
Just as they were about to head to their inner room, the door was suddenly banged on, spoiling the moment.
Huan'er breathed a huge sigh of relief, but was also annoyed by the inconsiderate person who knocked on the door! Shi Wuji, looking regretful, put her down and spoke in a low, hoarse voice:
"Go back inside." His face then turned ashen as he glared at the door, looking as if he wanted to tear the person who entered to pieces. Huan'er tugged at his sleeve, and the moment his face turned towards her, she kissed his lips and whispered:
"I'm waiting for you to have dinner in the room."
Shi Wuji's expression softened slightly. He glanced at the hickeys on her neck again and said in a low voice, "Let's go in!"
She returned to her inner chamber with unusual gentleness. Her heart was filled with joy; she had actually managed to so easily ignite his passion! This made her feel that the incredibly authoritative, aloof, and self-controlled Shi Wuji was beginning to shed his mask! This was more important to her than anything else. She had guessed correctly! A person high above inevitably feels the loneliness of being at the top, and those without companionship need love even more. One step at a time! Since it was a lifelong commitment, she wanted Shi Wuji to love her, not just love her, but to open his heart to her! She would do it, because she already loved him so deeply, forgetting the twentieth century for him, willing to exist in this ancient era for him, and would never regret it.
Shi Wujie glanced nervously at his elder brother, unable to utter a word of report. He couldn't fathom the stern look on his brother's face. Had he argued with his sister-in-law? He thought he'd heard her scream outside the door.
"What's up? Did you come here to just stand around and do nothing?"
"No...no! It's Leng Gang, he's here, waiting for you in the study!" he stammered.
Shi Wuji's eyes flashed, and he quickly walked out. Shi Wujie hurriedly followed behind.

Chapter Four
Leng Gang had a cold, hard face, and an irregular scar on his left cheek that ran from his eyebrow down to his chin was even more frightening. He was not as handsome as the Shi brothers, but his whole body had strong, masculine features. He was the same age as Shi Wuji and was the only son of Leng Ziyang, the head steward of the Shi family.
Years ago, the Shi family was robbed and wiped out. Leng Ziyang and his wife risked their lives to rescue their four sons and daughters from the fire and hide them in a tunnel. Madam Leng even lost her life while trying to save her three-month-old daughter.
For four generations, the Leng family had sworn to protect the Shi family and their descendants until death to repay a life-saving debt. The Shi family treated the Leng family like brothers, not as servants, which further solidified the Leng family's loyalty. After many of the retainers scattered like birds and beasts, Leng Ziyang took his four masters to the north, raised them, and returned a vast, little-known estate—two gold mines, one silver mine, and three coal mines. These were ancestral properties that the Shi family had always kept; being so large and prosperous, they had never been mined. Therefore, no one knew that the seemingly ordinary, barren mountains belonging to the Shi family in the north were actually rich in gold and silver. Using these remaining ancestral assets, Shi Wuji was able to successfully build "Aolong Fortress" into a business tycoon in the six northern provinces within a few years. Leng Ziyang, however, never took credit, still considering himself the steward and assisting Shi Wuji, insisting on maintaining a clear distinction between master and servant. The fifth generation, Leng Gang, under his training, became Shi Wuji's shadow, dedicated to revenge.
"How is it?" Shi Wuji entered the study, sat down, and looked at Leng Gang. Shi Wuhen and Shi Wujie showed nervousness in their eyes.
Leng Gang was a man of few words and quiet demeanor, his face devoid of any emotion, making it impossible to discern his thoughts. Yet, he was the kind of man who would risk his life for his friends, even at the cost of his own. He took out an account book and handed it to Shi Wuji.
"His secret account."
Shi Wuji handed it to Wuhen. Wujie eagerly leaned closer to take a look.
"Where's the message?"
“He changed his mind,” Leng Gang said, pointing at Su Guangping.
That's unexpected! Marrying Huan'er into our family would be more beneficial than harmful, so why would we regret it?
"He will come to the north three days later under the pretext of visiting relatives. Ke Zhengming will accompany him."
"Ke Biwei's son? Hasn't he always been currying favor with powerful figures in the capital?" Shi Wuji pondered for a long time.
"Six months ago, Ke Zhengming made inappropriate advances towards the young mistress." It seems that Leng Gang's surveillance of the Su family has been going on for quite some time.
