1. The origin of Qingyuan Mountain...

Qingyuan Mountain is a famous mountain in the northern suburbs of Pingcheng.

Its fame doesn't stem from Qingyuan Mountain in Quanzhou. Qingyuan Mountain is known for its numerous springs, its status as a sacred place for spiritual practice, and the flourishing of culture through the collaboration of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Its beautiful scenery also contributed to its widespread fame. This Qingyuan Mountain in Pingcheng, however, is actually named by the chieftain of the mountain village. Its fame comes from Qingfeng Village, which houses a group of people—well, mountain folk—who live peacefully with the people below.

The mountain in Pingcheng wasn't originally called Qingyuan Mountain. Its original name, Jinbei Mountain, wasn't bad at all. However, it also had a common name among the people—Turtle Shell Mountain. The mountain isn't very high, but the path up is quite steep. It gradually flattens out halfway up, and further up, it becomes a flat plain. From a distance, the round mountain looks just like a green-haired turtle carrying a body covered in green trees.

The young and beautiful chieftain of the mountain, a cultured woman, felt that while the character "turtle" was realistic, it didn't suit the free-spirited nature of the villagers or the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain stronghold. So, on her coming-of-age day, she changed the name to "Qingyuan Mountain." This had a reason, as several clear springs cascaded down from the turtle's rear end of the mountain, and the villagers relied on these springs, which the chieftain had renamed Qingyuan, for their livelihood. To keep up with the times and echo the city's harmony policy, the chieftain's title was changed to "Young Lady." Thus, Qingfeng Village became a veritable mansion, unless one occasionally strode down the mountain with a large sword for a dashing stroll.

Three years have passed since Turtle Shell Mountain was renamed, and Qiu Su, the chieftain of Qingfeng Village, is approaching her late twenties. As the saying goes, eighteen is a major hurdle, twenty is considered "leftover." If she's not married by eighteen, she'll only have to wait until she's twenty to be considered "leftover." Although as the chieftain she doesn't lack food or drink, as the representative of Qingfeng Village, the village's reputation is at stake, and the entire village is still very worried. She doesn't care if he's out fooling around at night, but he doesn't even spend the day with her!

Qiu Su's lips twitched. She picked up a twig and slowly parted the drooping wild grapevines, instantly revealing a pair of bright blue eyes that didn't belong to the mountain lord. Qiu Su gasped, then with one breath, she pried the grapevines aside. Sure enough…

"What are you so smug about? You're betting on my mountain lord!" Qiu Su glared at him.

The wolf-like creature bared its teeth, revealing several sharp teeth powerful enough to bite through Qiu Su's arm.

"Alright, keep pressing, but hurry up, I'm waiting to take the mountain lord home for dinner." Oh, watching from the sidelines doesn't count as anything, right?

Qiu Su looked at the blue-eyed creature, then plopped down on the opposite rock, waiting to see them communicate through gestures.

Hey, Mountain Lord, you're the master of this mountain, don't be so pathetic! Blue-Eyed is focused on dealing with me, and you're like a spineless shrimp, crawling under his claws, whining and moaning. Aren't you ashamed?

"Mountain Lord, get up! You're making people look down on you!" Qiu Su scolded him with a slightly sour tone.
