Capítulo 25

"In the eleven years that followed, whenever I thought of the little girl who held my hand and watched the sunrise with me on the top of Huangshan Mountain, an overwhelming warmth and tenderness would well up in my heart. I liked a little girl, a chubby little girl with deep dimples, who laughed happily in the valley with her round eyes squinting. So, I enlarged a photo of her smiling face and hung it in my home. At that time, I simply liked a little child."

“Yuanyuan, if I hadn’t met you as you grew up, you would forever remain just my favorite little child in my memory. But this child has grown up, and in my memory, she will forever remain an eleven-year-old child. I watch her from afar, watching her smile, and it hasn’t changed at all, just as vivid and joyful as the smile in my memory. With each encounter, I discover that her attraction to me is as strong as it was when I was a child.” Qu Ling paused here, then smiled and said, “Perhaps this is the magnetic field between people. No matter what you look like, whether you are an adult or a child, I enjoy being with you.”

"Dean..." I listened intently, finally unable to hold back, and looked up to say, "Perhaps... perhaps you still only like me like a child, but... but between people who are going to marry and spend their lives together, it shouldn't be this kind of liking!"

"Hmm?" Qu Ling looked at me with a smile and said, "Yuanyuan, what kind of love do you think there should be between people who marry and spend their whole lives together?"

"I... I can't explain it! But I know that the kind of liking is different from liking cats and dogs!" I held up the puppy in my arms and said, "Dean, do you like me the way I like puppies?"

Qu Ling paused for a moment, then laughed, "Of course not!"

As he spoke, he slowly brought his face closer to mine, and said in a very soft and gentle voice, "I promise, my feelings for you are completely different from your feelings for puppies! Although I also want to hold you in my arms like I would a puppy, what I want to do even more is to have my heart close to yours. I love a warm and transparent heart." Qu Ling took my hand and gently placed it on his heart. "Yuanyuan, you have the warmest and most transparent heart."

"But..." I said timidly, my face flushed, "But I'm fat... Don't you mind that I'm fat?"

As soon as I said that, I lowered my head, not daring to look at Qu Ling. But Qu Ling chuckled and said, "Yuanyuan, are you deliberately trying to ruin the atmosphere?"

Qu Ling reached out and pinched my cheek, saying, "I just love how round and chubby you are!"

"Really?" I looked up, my eyes sparkling.

"Of course!" Qu Ling's eyes were filled with gentle smiles. "However, your fatty liver..."

"Huh?" I instinctively covered my liver area. "I... I only have a mild case!"

"In short, if it's for your health, I don't object to you losing some weight."

Qu Ling still held onto my other hand, her eyes still as dark as lacquer, unfathomable.

"Yuanyuan, can I now confirm that you don't object to my grandfather's domineering engagement?"

"This... I..." I stammered for a long time before finally nodding.

It must be a dream... Why do I feel so happy, like I'm about to float away?

Author's Note: Actually... well, actually, I'm going to do something very important from November 15th to November 30th, so I've been working hard to write more chapters these past two days.

But... it seems my efforts haven't been effective; I haven't typed enough words for the update. Tears...

I have five days left next week to try and save up, but... I'm not sure I'll achieve much.

Dear students, if you notice that Yuanyuan has become less active in late November, please forgive me.

I will definitely make Yuanyuan happy! After I find happiness myself! ^_^

If feelings are similar

When my parents came back, I was sitting alone in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, grinning like an idiot.

The setting sun painted the sky outside the window, and the glow of the sunset on the western horizon shone through the windowpane and onto my face.

"Yuanyuan! Come and see! I caught several super big grass carp today!" Dad waved to me from the middle of the yard.

I looked at the pink clouds outside the west window, treating them as if they were air.

"Yuanyuan!!" Dad held up the fish and pressed it against the glass. He put the fish's mouth against the glass, and the white circle around it was disgusting.

I snapped out of my daze, frowned, and gave a disgusted look. "What's wrong!"

"Look at the fish I caught! It's huge, isn't it!" Dad proudly showed me his trophy, while Xiao Yuan wagged its tail and circled around him. Suddenly, Xiao Yuan spotted the little Chow Chow lying on my lap and immediately climbed onto the windowpane, barking loudly.

"Huh? Yuanyuan, what's that on your leg?"

"Hehe," I said, holding up the little Chow Chow, "it's a puppy!"

"Really!" Dad's eyes lit up with excitement. He immediately threw the fish in his hand into the small pond in the garden and rushed into the inner room.

Even until dinner, my dad and I were constantly circling around the puppy, petting and hugging it, completely enamored with it.

The little Chow Chow is like a fluffy ball, with an endearing and憨厚 (honest and simple) appearance that everyone in the family loves. Even Grandma, who doesn't usually like small animals, looks at it with a smile.

"Yuanyuan, where did this puppy come from?" Grandma was the first person to think of asking where the puppy came from.

"...It was sent by Qu Ling." I said, my face slightly flushed. "He was worried I'd be bored at home, so he sent me a puppy to keep me company."

"Oh my, I never knew he was such a thoughtful person!" Grandma and Mom exchanged a strangely eerie glance.

"I knew Qu Ling really liked our Yuan Yuan!" Mom laughed so hard she was shaking, her confidence completely unfounded.

"Let's name the puppy, shall we? What's a good name for Su?" Dad said loudly, holding up the little Chow Chow's chubby paws.

"Hmm, let's call him Dabao! They say a humble name is easier to raise a child with." Mom said, pointing to a bottle of Dabao SOD Honey on the coffee table.

"Da Bao isn't cheap enough, Gou Dan is the cheapest!" Dad rubbed the puppy's belly.

"It would be better to come up with a name that's refreshing," Grandpa said after pondering for a while. "How about Laden?"

Wow! This is more than just refreshing; it's absolutely mind-blowing!

"Calling him Bin Laden is too scary, let's call him Tyson instead! That sounds much more imposing!" Dad grabbed the fluffy dog's tail.

"You're all coming up with random names!" Grandma finally spoke up. "I think we should name him Golden Tiger!"

"Hmm...it sounds like the vicious dog kept by the brigade secretary." Dad frowned and grinned, "Yuanyuan, you name it. This is the dog Qu Ling gave you. You can name it whatever you want."

"real?"

"kindness."

"Then let's call him Xizi."

Thus, the little Chow Chow that Qu Ling gave me had a name that the whole family disliked—Su Xizi, which was incredibly tacky.
