Банкет ста призраков - Глава 19

Глава 19

"Buzz!"

The despairing ancient wind suddenly heard this powerful sound, which instantly cleared its mind.

Even with his eyes closed, he could feel an intense light that made his whole body feel hot. His stiff, frozen body gradually "melted," and a sticky sensation returned to his skin. After a while, it was as if everything had evaporated, and he was sitting on the stairs leading to the second floor as if nothing had happened...

The intense light faded, and he could open his eyes. What he saw was the bright yellow light of the setting sun shining through the window. Gu Feng felt that he had never seen such a beautiful sun before. A person who has emerged from boundless darkness and seen the sunlight usually feels the same way.

What just happened?

Gu Feng looked at the Taekwondo club with a bewildered expression. Everything was the same as usual, except that no one was training.

Gu Feng scratched his head, wondering what had just happened. What was that sound, that light?

"Oh no, Shixin still hasn't been found!"

Gu Feng suddenly realized what he was doing here and ran up to the second floor.

I hope Shixin is inside.

The door, designed in an ancient style, is completely empty!

I went to another room, but there was still no one there…

"Oh my god, how could I be so stupid!" Gu Feng slapped his forehead, realizing that if Shi Xin were here, she would definitely be in the bishop's office. Why was he looking for her here?

Gu Feng looked at the still-glossy handle, moved it slightly, as if he dared not open it.

What should I do if Shixin isn't inside?

Gu Feng steadied his expression before he gained a little confidence to open it.

When I touched it, it felt so cold!

"Huh?"

Gu Feng looked at the rotating handle, wondering if he had applied any force.

Gu Feng suddenly felt a surge of joy. "Shi Xin, you're inside, aren't you?"

Looking at Shi Xin's haggard, pale face, Gu Feng didn't know how to describe the pain he felt, as if it were being torn apart by a knife!

Shixin was clearly terribly frightened, with tears welling up in her eyes.

The bright, beautiful eyes that Gu Feng admired most were now dimmed considerably. Gu Feng sighed, a mixture of joy and sorrow in his eyes, and embraced the slightly trembling Shi Xin, who seemed hesitant to speak. He remained silent for a long time.

Shi Xin closed her eyes; the shock from the boundless darkness and the solidified space was still lingering on her face.

"Ah ...

A deafening scream suddenly rang out from outside, followed by a shrill cry, and then silence.

A moment of stunned silence.

What happened? What was that sound just now? Was it a scream? It was way too loud.

Looking at Shixin, who was holding him with a puzzled expression, he knew she had the same question as him and said, "I'll go down and take a look."

Shixin tugged at her traditional Taoist robe and shook her head.

Gu Feng asked curiously, "What's wrong?"

Shixin's voice trembled slightly: "Don't...don't leave me again."

Seeing the pitiful look that had appeared on her once confident face, Gu Feng couldn't bear it and nodded: "Don't worry, I won't leave you alone again."

“Let’s go. Staying here isn’t a solution. Let’s go out and take a look.” Gu Feng said, and led Shi Xin, who nodded, downstairs.

Even a so-called bold guy like myself was about to break down from that feeling. I really don't know how Shixin, a girl, managed to get through it. A sixth-dan is truly something else!

The sky was a clear, bright blue, and the surging black mist had long since vanished.

Gu Feng and his companion walked to the entrance of the dojo. The sound had clearly come from the main passageway, but now it was completely empty. Where had everyone gone?

Gu Feng looked around strangely, and finally his gaze fell on the karate dojo.

Volume 2, Chapter 26: Mysterious Clues

Gu Feng carefully led Shi Xin towards that direction, trying to see what was inside through the window from a distance. Suddenly, Gu Feng froze.

Doesn't the karate club use transparent glass like the other two clubs? Why is it pitch black now?

Gu Feng glanced at Shi Xin: "Shi Xin, do you know when the karate club replaced the windows?"

Shi Xin stared ahead in confusion, then shook her head and said, "I remember when my nemesis brought me here last time, it was white, I think. How come it's like this now..."

Gu Feng waved to interrupt her. A faint, hazy black gas was emanating from the crack in the dojo gate right in front of him. The strange smell made Gu Feng quickly realize that it was the same thing he had encountered in the taekwondo club earlier.

Gu Feng was startled and took three steps back with Shi Xin. The suffocating pain was still fresh in his mind.

Anyone who has experienced it once would never want to try it a second time.

The ancient style is no exception.

The two of them just stared blankly at the dark gas, remaining motionless for a long time.

"ah"

Suddenly, a loud shout came from inside the dojo. For some reason, Gu Feng felt a chill run down his spine, as if he had heard the tolling of the doomsday bell.

The earth suddenly trembled, and Gu Feng cried out, "Oh no!"

In a moment of panic, without checking whether Shixin was ready, he grabbed her and ran. They ran all the way to the gate before Shixin drove them into the city to escape.

A dark shadow rushed over. With its lightning speed, catching up with Gu Feng and the others would be a piece of cake. The shadow stopped abruptly at the gate, but did not chase after them. It stood there blankly, as if sorting through memories sealed for hundreds of years. Its unfathomable face seemed to display a strange smile, very evil and ferocious!

What is it? A human? A god? A ghost? A demon?

The light of the setting sun gradually weakened, but it was clearly seen that all the sunlight was shining on it, yet it remained unmoved.

After a moment, the dark figure seemed to have figured something out, and let out a long howl to the sky, causing hundreds of birds to take flight, the sound echoing through the blue clouds...

Gu Feng and his companion rushed to the funeral home without stopping. Before they could even catch their breath and their hearts were pounding, Gu Feng realized something was wrong. Why was it so quiet? Where was Dad? Where was Mom? And where were Lao Zheng and the others?

A sense of unease welled up inside me.

A feeling of fear.

Gu Feng immediately went crazy and ran all over the world, visiting crematoriums, morgues, office buildings, residential areas, and even the cemetery on the back mountain.

There's nobody here?

Gu Feng sat down on a grave mound, disappointed and frightened.

Where did they go?

Cell phone, that's right, call Dad's cell phone.

When Gu Feng reached into his pocket, he realized that he was still wearing his Taoist robe and had nothing on him.

Shi Xin was a little scared. He didn't understand what had happened. Looking at the panicked Gu Feng, he didn't know what to say. Seeing Gu Feng's unusual behavior, he asked, "Gu Feng, what's wrong?"

Gu Feng sighed: "I didn't bring my phone with me."

Shi Xin forced a smile, trying to ease the tension, and pulled a small cell phone out of her pocket: "Here."

Gu Feng quickly accepted it.

"Dad's phone number should be..."

He now really regrets not memorizing his dad's number properly, and after racking his brains, he finally managed to come up with the correct number.

Beep, beep... Sorry, the number you dialed is currently switched off...

Gu Feng let out a long sigh.

Could it be a typo?

After checking several times, he finally gave up hope; it really was the right number.

The whole family has disappeared without a word?

Gu Feng clutched his head, wondering, "Mom and Dad, where are you?"

As darkness fell, the few remaining fireflies lingered around the cemetery, creating an eerie atmosphere, as if something might suddenly appear under one's feet at any moment.

Shi Xin looked at the rows of tombstones in horror, then at Gu Feng who was silent and in a daze, and held his hand tightly.

Gu Feng's mind was about to explode when a commotion suddenly rose from below the funeral home in the distance. Overjoyed, he thought, "Dad and the others are back?" He even forgot about Shi Xin beside him and ran downstairs.

Upon closer inspection, Gu Feng was disappointed.

Those who were only there to attend the funeral, seeing that no one had come out to greet them after nearly an hour, started making a huge fuss.

Gu Feng glanced at them from a distance at the corner of the wall, then turned away.

Shixin, who was following behind, looked dejected. She really didn't know what to do at this moment.

Gu Feng lay sprawled on the living room sofa, staring at the ceiling, silently reflecting on everything that had happened that day.

It all happened so fast, so incredibly fast. My life has been completely transformed in just a few hours.

Shi Xin said softly, "Gu Feng, don't be too sad. Maybe your aunt and uncle just went on a long trip without telling you."

Gu Feng smiled.

A hike? What about Old Zheng? Should we take him too? We don't need the funeral home anymore?

Gu Feng knew Shi Xin's feelings and said softly, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Shi Xin asked anxiously, "Really? What are you going to do next?"

What's next?

Gu Feng pondered for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I don't know."

Shixin gave a bitter smile and fell silent.

Gu Feng shook his head and smiled bitterly. What should I do next?

Are these signs of the end of the world?

End of the world?

As Gu Feng thought of these words, a sudden surge of joy welled up inside him. "That's right, how could I have forgotten her?"

Gu Feng suddenly jumped up, startling Shi Xin. Had Gu Feng gone mad?
