Le Yan was slightly surprised; why had the place changed so rapidly?

She turned to look at Chu Gexing.

Chu Gexing reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder: "Uncle Zhen doesn't want you to get hurt because of this."

Le Yan stared at him blankly.

Chu Zhen, however, was quite pleased.

As expected, Ge Xing knew his feelings.

If the slap I took leads to their reconciliation, then the slap won't have been in vain.

Fortunately, Ge Xing wasn't stupid; he knew what to do.

Alas, young people are always so impetuous.

The young military officer had a feeling that "I'm already old."

Chu Zhen's gaze swept slowly across Tang Leyan's face.

This person, this face... well, I still can't help but want to find some similarities between them and that person.

Cough cough, it's really hard to get rid of this bad habit in a short time.

The guy who didn't even say goodbye, he's decided to stop thinking about it.

Those guys are really ruthless; their child is already so big.

Leyan, Leyan, Tang Leyan.

Those guys, they want this child to be happy, don't they? A joyful face shouldn't be stained with tears.

Chu Zhen was overjoyed that he had met their child and that he understood the meaning behind her name.

Oh, such a happy face...

Mingming was pleased.

But why...?

He really wanted to cry.

Dragon and Tiger Fight in the Capital Chapter 71: Relief

As soon as Le Yanren stepped out of the gate of the Zhongtang Mansion, a familiar figure rushed towards her. Looking up, she saw it was Mo Hua.

"Young master, I've been looking for you for so long." Mo Hua said hurriedly as soon as he saw him.

"What happened?" Le Yan asked, her spirits lifting.

"Hurry back and check, Xiao Di is awake!" Mo Hua replied. "Shi Shu and I were worried that you might do something rash in anger, so I came out to find you, young master..."

Before he could finish speaking, another figure slowly emerged from the main entrance behind him.

"Too late," he murmured.

The Song of Chu.

Le Yan glanced back at him, her expression involuntarily turning slightly embarrassed.

Mo Hua was taken aback: "Am I late?"

Chu Gexing stopped answering and walked straight to Tang Leyan's side, giving her a light glance with his peach blossom eyes: "Go ahead and get married."

Le Yan's expression turned extremely ugly.

Chu Gexing, however, stood still.

Mo Hua asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

Chu Gexing sneered: "Someone knows perfectly well what's going on."

Tang Leyan shrugged casually and smiled, saying, "Lord Chu, you don't need to take it seriously. Life is so depressing, we're just joking around..."

"You weren't joking when you slapped me like that." He looked at her, a hint of annoyance in his eyes.

Mo Hua asked in surprise, "You two fought?" Yue Yan coughed, turned around, and smiled, "Good girl, sweet girl, your young master is known for advocating peace and resisting violence. How could I possibly fight with someone? Be good, go back and tell Shi Shu first. I'll be there soon."

Mo Hua hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Okay... then I'll go back first." She glanced at Chu Gexing again, said nothing more, and quickly disappeared down the street.

Chu Gexing didn't look away at all, only gazing calmly at the sky: "What, you sent the girl away, are you afraid of losing face?"

Once Mo Hua had walked away, Le Yan reached out and tugged at his sleeve. She said with a forced smile, "Lord Chu, you are so magnanimous, please forgive my rashness and loose tongue this time, okay?"

Chu Gexing disgustedly shook off her hand: "I'm afraid that even if I forgive you this time, there will be a next time when you'll do it even worse."

"Absolutely not, I swear on my impeccable character."

"Oh? Do you have that kind of thing?"

"I swear on your character, Lord Chu."

"you!"

"Hehe," she chuckled mischievously, as if she knew he didn't have that either. Just as he was getting annoyed, she sighed softly, "I'm sorry..." "I didn't know it would turn out like this, even causing the adults to get hurt... If only I had known..."

"If you had known this would happen, you wouldn't have made a move?" Chu Gexing's eyes sharpened.

"Uh." Sensing the other party's displeasure, but not knowing the source of it, Le Yan coughed, "Lord Chu, please be magnanimous and don't hold it against me."

"That's easy..." Chu Gexing sneered, his laughter turning malicious.

"No way?" Tang Leyan frowned.

"You know what to do?" he said slowly, truly admiring her troubled expression. The world is full of countless beauties and charms, but he particularly admired the way she frowned, a look that was both annoyed and shy—a truly breathtaking sight.

"Damn pervert..." Le Yan muttered to herself as she walked, "I don't know why he has such a perverted hobby. Hmm... there's no smoke without fire. Could it be that the sect leader offended him, so he always forces me to break the rules like him? It's really strange. But then again, demons and humans think differently. Who knows what he's up to?"

As I walked and thought, I unknowingly arrived at my doorstep.

As we went straight inside, we could hear cheerful voices from afar.

"That really scared me to death. I saw the young master storm off in a huff. I thought Little Di was really... Waaaaah..."

"Yes, but Xiao Di's appearance at the time was indeed frightening. Let alone the young master, I was scared half to death when I saw him, and I lay at the door for a long time unable to move."

"Mo Zhu, why didn't Young Master come back with you?" She...she..."

The ink painting hasn't been discussed yet.

Tang Leyan laughed heartily: "Now that all the dark clouds have dispersed, where is our little sun person?"

As soon as she entered, Shishu jumped up and ran over to grab her arm: "You're finally back! We almost couldn't persuade Xiaodi to come; he was so eager to see you."

"Is Xiao Di really alright?" She was overjoyed, her smile wide and her face beaming with happiness.

"Of course, we wouldn't dare joke about something like this."

Shi Shu was clearly in a good mood as well.

Tang Leyan sniffed: "Hmm, what's that smell? It smells like something pasty..."

"Ah, I forgot there's medicine simmering in the kitchen. I'll go check." Shi Shu let go of Le Yan and skipped away.

Mo Hua stood up: "I'll go with you, young master."

"Okay." She agreed and walked towards the backyard with Mo Hua.

On the bed, the boy lay quietly, the bloodstains on his face wiped clean.

"Shishu and I helped Xiaodi clean up a bit," Mo Hua explained softly.

"Thank you for your hard work." Tang Leyan nodded.

While they were talking, the person on the bed opened their eyes.

Her clear, cold eyes, like those in a traditional Chinese ink painting, and her dark, bright pupils looked at the person beside the bed.

"Ah, didn't I just give you a calming medicine? Why are you awake again?" Mo Hua stepped forward in surprise and pressed down on Xiao Di, who was trying to get up.

"Yes, don't move." Tang Leyan hurriedly stepped forward, bowing slightly. She sat down beside him. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine." Xiao Di looked at him. "Where is the young master?"

Tang Leyan's eyes darted around, glancing at herself.

The palm strike caused Chu Zhen to spit out blood. In the urgency of the situation, she didn't even notice whether blood had splattered on her.

Thinking about it now...

She lowered her head and suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, she was wearing dark-colored clothes. The red and black fabric concealed any bloodstains.

However, just now, when I thought about how that person looked when she hit him in the chest, I still felt... a little heartbroken.

She sighed.

Or perhaps Chu Gexing is right: she shouldn't have acted so impulsively.

“I’m fine,” she replied.

Xiao Di frowned: "Young master, there's a bloody smell on you. What happened?"

Le Yan was startled; she hadn't been able to hide it from him after all.

The ink painting next to it also looked over.

She could only laugh self-deprecatingly: "Nothing much, thankfully the person was saved, otherwise..."

Xiao Di blinked, frowned, and asked, "Who is injured?"

“It is…” Le Yan paused, “It is Grand Councilor Chu Zhen.”

"Oh..." Xiao Di replied. "Did you accidentally injure him while trying to help me, young master?"

Although he did not witness the events firsthand, his words were clearly accurate.

Tang Leyan knew she couldn't hide it any longer, so in order to put his mind at ease and allow him to recover, she simply told him everything that had happened.

As the group was talking, the servant's laughter rang out from the doorway: "Young master has committed an act of insubordination this time. Now that the matter has come to light, I don't think he'll be in office for much longer."

As she spoke, she walked in carrying a bowl of medicine.

"Pah, you jinx." Tang Leyan laughed and cursed.

Xiao Di replied, "It is my fault that you have caused such trouble, young master..."
