Feng Feisheng continued, "I know it's not appropriate for you to appear in public right now, and the situation in Fengcheng is indeed very complicated. But... as long as you stay, sooner or later," he lowered his voice and said, "I will make you... the most honored person in all of Fengcheng."

Tang Leyan was taken aback, then suddenly understood something, and her lips trembled slightly.

Feng Feisheng reached out and gently pressed his hand to her lips: "Shh, you don't have to say it, just understand in your heart... The choice is yours, I won't force you to do anything... I'll give you time. Tomorrow, I'll come see you again, and then you can give me your answer, okay?"

Tang Leyan stared at him blankly.

Feng Feisheng smiled brightly: "Don't laugh at me, this is the first time I've ever been so anxious for someone. My feelings for you are... real." Her voice trailed off.

His eyes flickered, and he gently brushed his fingers against her lips, feeling the soft touch. Involuntarily, as if drawn by gravity, he slowly lowered his body, muttering, "I really am..."

As Tang Leyan watched him get closer and closer, she couldn't help but feel a little flustered.

Feng Feisheng gazed at her half-closed eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, revealing a hint of fragility. This was a stark contrast to her usual arrogant demeanor, giving her a unique and charming beauty that captivated him instantly.

Just then, a cold voice came from the doorway: "Young Master Feng, you must have said everything you needed to say, right?"

As if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, Feng Feisheng abruptly stopped moving.

He turned around.

Upon seeing Chu Gexing standing silently at the doorway, his sparkling peach blossom eyes looked down at him with an indifferent gaze.

"You deliberately passed on the news of our presence here to Feng Feisheng, didn't you?" Chu Gexing said.

Ling Jiuyan was shocked, but remained outwardly calm: "Ge Xing, Jiu Jun has already explained it."

Do you think I would believe those words?

"Singing..."

Chu Gexing turned around coldly and said, "I don't care what you're thinking. In the future, don't do such unnecessary things again. I won't tolerate it a second time."

"Then can you tell me—why is your reaction so strong?" Ling Jiuyan suddenly appeared in front of him and asked loudly.

"The more people know, the more dangerous it is."

"That's all?"

"What do you think it is?"

"You're jealous, aren't you?!" Ling Jiuyan said with a sneer.

"Jealous? What do you mean?"

"Prince Feng has a sincere heart for Le Yan, which is why he wanted to come here to visit her. He said that as long as Le Yan can stay in Shun, he will definitely protect her. You don't want to see him see her, do you? Seeing Prince Feng go to see Le Yan, your heart is breaking, isn't it?"

Chu Gexing was furious: "Nonsense!"

"Everything I said is true." Ling Jiuyan gradually calmed down. "Ge Xing, you... like Le Yan, don't you?"

Chu Gexing chuckled coldly, "What exactly are you talking about?"

Ling Jiuyan looked into his eyes, his alluring eyes half-closed, his long eyelashes obscuring the light within. She couldn't see the color in his eyes, but she could sense the panic emanating from him.

"You know what I'm talking about." She suddenly felt despair.

Love and hate, isn't it simple? Simple and clear, clearly defined. In the past, he liked someone and disliked someone without even bothering to hide it. But now, what's going on? Unless it's something extraordinary, why make things so complicated?

Chu Ge Xing, what are you so afraid of?

Is there anything in this world that you worry about or fear? It will be dawn. This is the first watch.

Some disheartening thoughts remain, to be continued... (as follows)

Chapter 210 of "Turning the Tender Land" - It's Not Your Fault

After much deliberation, Chu Gexing realized that he couldn't stay in Fengcheng any longer.

Whether it was Jiu Jun or Feng Feisheng, he harbored deep disgust. Recently, this disgust had intensified. He used to be able to deal with it, but now even that has faded away, replaced by a growing sense of aversion.

He had no idea what was wrong with him.

As I slowly walked along the corridor, my mood, like the dark night, was inexplicably conflicted yet impossible to shake off.

Ling Jiuyan's words kept swirling in my mind.

He remained silent at the time.

But I was deeply shaken.

At first, I just scoffed; jealous women are truly terrifying. But the more I thought about it, the more horrified I became.

Without a doubt, Ling Jiuyan's words, seemingly spoken out of jealousy, were like a sharp sword, or a pair of merciless hands, tearing apart the last trace of pretense in his heart.

It seems that he has finally discovered something that he had long kept buried deep in his heart and that he had overlooked.

He sighed.

Chu Gexing stopped, tilted his head, and gazed at the quiet room.

Tang Leyan was inside.

They were only a dozen or so steps apart, yet it felt as if they were separated by a shimmering stream, unable to speak a word; he wanted to say something but couldn't.

Is that really the case?

Or perhaps it was the water and unpredictable climate of Fengcheng, the ever-changing events, and his unavoidable interactions with her that caused him to experience a delirious hallucination. His heart was struggling in its death throes.

But once the seeds have sprouted, will he be able to bring himself to uproot them completely?

A soft sound suddenly came from inside the room.

It sounded like something had fallen.

There was only Tang Leyan there.

Chu Gexing was startled. He flashed forward and rushed straight to the room.

Pushing open the door, I was shocked to see Tang Leyan dangling halfway down the bed. She seemed to be reaching for something, but she swayed precariously and was about to fall.

Chu Gexing rushed over and hugged her tightly, angrily asking, "What are you doing?"

Tang Leyan, panting heavily, leaned against his chest, struggling to breathe: "I..."

"You're just starting to feel better, are you trying to kill yourself?" he scolded urgently, his words coming from instinct.

"Chu Gexing..." She placed her hand on his chest, her face close to his, and called out softly, her voice hoarse and delicate.

Chu Gexing was taken aback.

I could feel her heart pounding fiercely in my chest, thumping and pounding together with mine. It was as if our hearts were racing, mingling together until we couldn't tell which was which.

Chu Gexing suddenly felt a little blurry in front of him.

He reached out and hugged her shoulders tightly, letting her bury her head against his chest.

As expected, I shouldn't get close to her.

My mind gets flustered whenever I encounter it.

The chaos left him completely bewildered, on the verge of losing himself.

But I still can't help wanting...

He just held her tightly, not wanting to let go, and didn't want to say another word. That was enough.

Tang Leyan leaned against him. She breathed heavily for a while before noticing the strange behavior of the person beside her.

"Chu Gexing, I can't breathe." She said with difficulty, her face pressed against his chest, which was still a bit chilly from the outside air.

Chu Gexing was taken aback, then abruptly let go: "I'm sorry... Did I hurt you?"

I looked down at the person on my chest.

Tang Leyan paused, realizing that Chu Gexing seemed somewhat different from before.

But she wasn't quite sure where the difference came from.

He could only say, "No, I'm just... thirsty."

Upon hearing this, he immediately straightened her shoulders and carefully helped her lean against the edge of the bed: "Can't you call for help?"

Tang Leyan remained silent. He didn't want to deliberately blame her. He turned to the table, reached out and touched the teapot. It wasn't cold yet, so he picked it up, poured a cup, took a small sip, and finding the temperature just right, turned and walked towards the bedside.

Tang Leyan reached out to take it. Chu Gexing naturally took her hand, put it back under the quilt, then put his arm around her shoulder, half-embracing her, and held the teacup to her lips, whispering, "Drink."

Tang Leyan glanced at him, as if she wanted to say something.

"Weren't you thirsty?" he said softly again.

"Mmm," she finally replied, lowering her head to slowly drink.

"Cough cough..." He coughed lightly twice.

Chu Gexing turned around, put the teacup down, and raised his sleeve to wipe the water from the corner of her mouth: "Did you choke? Take your time."

"No, nothing," Tang Leyan replied, then looked up at him for a while before turning her head away again.

"Leyan," Chu Gexing said, without changing his posture, embracing her and asking, "I want to leave Fengcheng as soon as possible, what do you think?"

"Okay," she replied casually.

Such a quick and casual tone left Chu Gexing unsure whether to feel gratified or something else entirely.

Her quick reply proved that she didn't really care about what Feng Feisheng had said—Chu Gexing couldn't help but feel a touch of schadenfreude and sympathy for Feng Xiaoshizi's feelings when she thought of this; but then she suddenly thought of another aspect, perhaps she answered so quickly because Shun also had someone she cared about. So, the roles were reversed, and it was now others' turn to feel schadenfreude and sympathy for him.

Chu Gexing quickly went through a mental loop, then couldn't help but give himself a mocking smile.

"Chu Ge Xing," Tang Leyan called out.

"Yes." He casually pulled the blanket in front of her up a little, and couldn't help but say, "But I'm worried about your health."

“…Oh,” Tang Leyan replied, “Don’t worry, I didn’t die this time, so I’ll definitely be able to hold on.”

When Chu Gexing heard the word "this time," his heart felt as if it had been pricked by a needle.

"I will... I will protect you," she said in a very low voice.

"Huh?" Tang Leyan didn't hear clearly and turned her head to ask.

"No, nothing..." he said, then asked, "What did you call me about?"

Tang Leyan said, "Oh... I wanted to say..." She paused, then said, "I don't blame you."

Chu Gexing was startled.

Tang Leyan said, "I have thought this through. As the saying goes, life and death are determined by fate... Who would have thought that something unexpected would happen? Neither you nor I are gods, so... Chu Gexing, you don't need to blame yourself for this."
