Die Faust zerschmettert alle Himmel und unzählige Welten - Kapitel 25

Kapitel 25

Long San was really startled this time, forgetting that he had said he couldn't be present when she changed clothes, and hurriedly asked, "Now? In the middle of the night, to the kitchen?"

"Mmm." Feng Ning nodded vigorously, looking energetic, not at all like someone who was exhausted and wanted to sleep.

"Everyone in the kitchen is asleep right now."

"It's not like we're going to eat them, so they can go back to sleep."

"Then who cooks for you?"

"Leftovers can be heated up." Feng Ning was already dressed and pulled Long San to run outside.

Long San followed her all the way to the kitchen, not even thinking about what it was to do with him that she was looking for food. But it was too embarrassing to look for food like a rat in the middle of the night, so he advised her, "The stove fire is out, how hot is it? Just bear with it, there will be breakfast tomorrow morning."

"But I'm so hungry, so hungry. I endured the lack of food at the temple, but do I have to endure it at home too?" Feng Ning's pitiful appearance made Long San's heart tremble at her mention of "at home." She considered this place her home.

He was momentarily distracted when Feng Ning pulled him into the kitchen. The kitchen was dark, with no lights on, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Feng Ning somehow produced a candle and lit it, then smiled at Long San as if to show off her accomplishment.

Long San sighed, took the candle, and watched Feng Ning expertly search the kitchen. He really didn't want to think about how she knew the kitchen so well. After a while, Feng Ning hadn't found anything and pouted, complaining, "How could you eat so cleanly? You didn't leave anything behind."

Long San sighed: "Of course, the kitchen doesn't leave leftover food overnight, and the servants have to clean it up before they can rest. That's the rule."

“This rule is wrong.” Feng Ning clutched her empty stomach anxiously. “I’m so hungry, Long San, I’m hungry.” Her bright eyes looked pitiful. “When I’m hungry, I feel uncomfortable, and when I feel uncomfortable, I can’t sleep. Long San, why do we have to go hungry when we get home?”

She kept chattering on and on, and Long San couldn't take it anymore: "Alright, alright, stop it. Let me see what's here?"

Feng Ning suddenly stopped talking and looked at Long San: "You can cook?"

Long San didn't reply to her. He just looked through the rice, noodles, eggs, and vegetables in the kitchen and asked her, "Egg noodles will do, right?"

Feng Ning's eyes crinkled with laughter as she nodded vigorously in agreement. Long San, annoyed, assigned the task: "Go light the fire, start the stove, and boil the water."

"Yes, Third Master." Feng Ning readily agreed, busily gathering firewood and flint to start the stove. Long San washed his hands, kneaded a small dough ball, set it aside to rest, and then started beating eggs. He turned to look at Feng Ning, who was vigorously blowing air into the stove to help the fire ignite, a black mark on her face. Her earnest expression was surprisingly adorable.

A servant heard the commotion and ran over to check. He was startled to see that it was the Third Master cooking in the kitchen. Just as he was about to speak, Long San waved his hand at him. The servant then looked at the Third Madam squatting on the ground, thought for a moment, nodded, and retreated.

Feng Ning had finished lighting the fire, so she turned around and ran over to supervise Long San's progress. Seeing the smooth and firm dough set aside, she exclaimed "Wow!" and praised, "Long San, you're really amazing! This dough looks delicious."

Long San finally couldn't help but laugh: "You're even more amazing. You can tell it tastes good just by looking at the dough."

Feng Ning held her head high: "That's right, it's made by my husband, it must be delicious." As soon as she finished speaking, she saw some scallion tails sticking out of the vegetable basket next to her, and quickly ran over, leaving Long San to sigh at her words "my husband".

"Long San, Long San, there are scallions." Feng Ning came running over and placed a bunch of scallions on the table: "Add these, it'll smell good." Then she ran off again.

Long San watched her running around in the kitchen, sighed inwardly, and put aside his chaotic thoughts. He flattened the dough, rolled it into a thin sheet, and cut it into noodles. Before he finished cutting, he heard Feng Ning cheer, "There's smoked meat! There's smoked meat!" She ran over again, holding the meat, "Add some of this, it'll make it flavorful."

Long San finally couldn't help but use his sleeve to wipe the black marks off her face, and instructed, "Keep your voice down, don't wake up everyone else."

“Yes, we need to keep our voices down. If others come, there won’t be enough noodles to go around.” Feng Ning nodded seriously.

"All I care about is food."

Feng Ning chuckled and reached out to wipe the flour off Long San's forehead. She leaned closer to look at him and suddenly said, "Long San, you're quite handsome."

Long Sanshen felt his face flush. He cleared his throat and said, "Do I need to tell you how good-looking I am? Don't think that just because I flatter you I'll cook for you. Let me tell you, this is a one-time thing."

"Hmph." Feng Ning was dissatisfied: "Judging others by your own petty standards, I just told the truth, and you still misunderstood. You people always complicate things so much, it's pointless."

These words pierced Long San's heart like needles. Before he could reply, Feng Ning grabbed his sleeve and shook it vigorously: "The water's boiling, the water's boiling, quick, quick, noodles, noodles..."

Long San was truly at a loss for words. Well, in her heart, food was probably the most important thing. Whether he was good-looking or not, or whether he was a nuisance or not, she didn't care at all.

The smoked meat, egg, and scallion noodles were quickly cooked. Feng Ning happily hugged the large bowl and ate heartily. Her eating habits were never elegant, but they were undeniably appetizing. Long San, watching her, even became hungry. He took a bowl and divided up half of Feng Ning's bowl. At first, Feng Ning resisted fiercely, but after being glared at by Long San, she reluctantly handed it over. As Long San picked up noodles, she cried out, "Okay, okay, if you keep picking, there won't be any left... Do you want the meat too? That's not a good idea. I'll take care of the meat and eggs, don't bother... Don't pick anymore, it hurts my heart... Really, have mercy..."

The more she yelled, the more Long San piled food into his bowl. Feng Ning was getting impatient. Finally, Long San couldn't bear to tease her anymore and stopped. Feng Ning looked at her own bowl, then at his, and after confirming that her bowl had more food, she muttered to herself and started eating again.

Long San had never known that the noodles he made could be so delicious. He often traveled the world and was naturally good at cooking, washing clothes, and taking care of his own life, but this was the first time he had ever eaten such delicious noodles. No wonder Feng Ning's little face was rosy and she looked very satisfied, which made Long San feel a little proud.

With plenty of noodles and soup, the two fools laughed at the two empty bowls in the kitchen. Feng Ning patted her belly and sighed, "So delicious, so satisfying."

Looking at her innocent smiling face, Long San suddenly thought how wonderful it would be if she could stay in the memory.

"Feng Ning, do you still remember your parents?"

"Hmm?" Feng Ning tilted her head. "No, I don't remember. Long San, tell me, what were my parents like?"

Long San didn't answer, but asked again, "Do you know how far Huzhou is from here?"

Feng Ning sat up straight, looked at him intently, and after a long while suddenly asked, "Long San, do you want to send me back to my parents' home?"

"Didn't you want to go back before?"

"But the items haven't been found yet, and the murderer who wanted to kill you hasn't been found either."

Long San lowered his eyes, refraining from telling her that the stolen item was fake. In fact, they didn't want to recover the item; they wanted to find the suspect and uncover the other party's purpose and the truth. Actually, sending her back to the Feng family would be useful for laying another clue.

He didn't speak, but Feng Ning understood: "I'm not very useful here anymore, am I?"

“Feng Ning…” He really didn’t know what to say.

Feng Ning forced a smile and said, "I promised, I know." She looked at Long San, wanting to say it was no problem, that it was the same for her wherever she went, but looking at him, she suddenly felt a little vulnerable. She finally stopped smiling and honestly confessed, "But I'm scared, what should I do? I only know you guys now, only you are kind to me, only you are willing to listen to me properly, you will help me fight bad guys, you will play with me, and you will stay with me when I have nightmares..." Her voice trailed off, "Could you... wait a little longer, wait until I remember something else, before you send me away?"

Long San was a little embarrassed: "I didn't say I'd send you away right now."

Feng Ning lowered her head: "That's just a matter of time."

Long San opened his mouth, but ultimately remained silent. She was right; it was indeed only a matter of time.

Feng Ning suddenly looked up and laughed, "Long San, I have a plan. You don't need to worry that I will do something bad or refuse to leave after I regain my memory. Just give me a letter of divorce and settle this matter of divorce first. Then I can live in your house with my head held high."
